Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
MissEstelle 5/9/2013 8:38:00 AM
I bought this as just a "I need one more product to get free shipping" type thing. I didn't really think I needed to shades in the palette, since I seemed to already have the same shades in other brands. I was wroooong! Beautiful colors, good consistency and excellent pigmentation. In fact, the crease colors are so pigmented that the first time I tried this, I ended up looking like I'd been in a fight. Be sure to tap or blow the brush with the crease colors, then they go on beautifully. I was worried about the green side being too garish for my taste, but they actually go on in wonderful duochromes with golden secondary hues, and the green side eyeliner is AMAZINGLY pretty. All together and well blended (I use the Mac 217) they form a wonderful, everyday look that makes my brown eyes pop and look larger. The colors on both sides are very well coordinated and go together so well. Highly recommended.

Ooh, so pretty! A wonderful modern, young version of the classic red nail. Two coats is enough, and it lasts quite well without chipping, even without base or top. I usually don't like the look of red nails, it seems to age my hands and make my fingers look stumpy and triangular. But this one looks really awesome, and I can't stop looking at my hands and smiling :)

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Raw Honey
MissEstelle 4/18/2013 7:51:00 AM
I've had this horrible rash between my breasts for years that comes and goes without rhyme or reason - it's gets worse and worse, until it's a kind of hard, orange crust that I can then scrub off, and then it's better and just slightly red for a while, until it starts again. Anti-fungals, antibiotics, soothing moisturizers, steroids, hormone creams and peels ALL just make it flare. I was despairing. But honey is healing it. I apply a thin layer of raw honey once or twice a day, and it's better than is has been in a LONG time - barely visible, and still improving. No wonder "honey" is a pet name for someone you love...

LOOOOVE this. My favorite nail polish out of a fair few. Such a bright, pretty, popping and yet wearable colour, that lasts quite well with a good base and top.

Makeup Brushes -Shiseido - Perfect Foundation Brush
MissEstelle 1/14/2013 4:46:00 AM
What a difference this baby makes! Much better coverage from the same (powder) foundation, much better blending and a much more natural look, even with the greater coverage. It's smaller than my other foundation brushes, which means it's easier to work the corners with, it makes me take greater care and have greater attention to detail, and it feels kind of luxurious to be that careful about my foundation rather than just whipping it on and done. Also, I've never been able to escape flakiness and clumping around my eyebrows and in the corners of my nose when applying foundation, powder, mousse or liquid, but this does the trick. And it's so soft and nice and lovely on the skin. Love it, WELL worth the investment, if you have the room in your budget.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Pomegranate Punk
MissEstelle 1/3/2013 10:23:00 AM
Oooooh, peeerrty! This is so versatile, long-lasting and easy! The color is amazing, it layers from a sheer, soft dusty pink to a heavier, redder pomegranate (duh). I was worried about the whole red-eyeshadow-thing, but I needn't have. It's wonderful, and it looks wonderful on me. I apply it with my fingers all over lid and up along my socket line in a parable shate, and if I can do that, anyone can...

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream
MissEstelle 12/18/2012 7:47:00 AM
This is one of my best little friends. I use it as lip gloss etc., for which it is lovely - HOWEVER! The thing that really puts it over the top for me is the fact that it heals my pimple-scars! If I dab a thin layer of this over the pimple every day once it's popped or starts receding? NO SCAR!! And to explain, my skin gets scars from Every. Single. Pimple. Always. Dark red spots that do no go away. But with 8 hour? No scar. Could regular petroleum jelly do the same? I don't know, and I'm not ready to take the chance with a trial on my own face, getting more scars if it doesn't work. But I do know that 8 hour has vitamin e and some other stuff in it (too lazy to look it up) that might give it that extra edge. Either way, I love it.

Blush -NYX - Taupe

Holy miracle makeup Batman! I never, ever did contouring or shaping before since the whole bronzer concept seemed so 80's to me, and all I could envision was those hard, dark triangles under the cheeks. But I swiped this on just this morning, and WOW - just one light swipe on the lower slope of my cheek bones, and it looked AMAZING. Without even really showing a shadow, it made my face look runway-perfect! With a big of highlighter on top, it was all the makeup I needed today!

Lips -Burt's Bees - Rose Tinted Lip Balm
MissEstelle 8/12/2012 5:36:00 AM
I LOVE this! The color is so perfect, I rarely use any other lipsticks, glosses or tinted balms these days. It has replaced every single red, rose and pink color I usually use. It has that coveted "my lips but better"-quality, with a lovely warm, pink-reddish tint that darkens my lips in a very natural way. It's moisturizing as well, nice and slick but not sticky. It goes on smooth and even so I can apply it without a mirror and feel fairly confident that it looks like it's supposed to (unless I layer it a lot - then I like to check it before going out). Will definitely repurchase, maybe even before I run out just to have en extra.

Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
MissEstelle 6/9/2012 2:02:00 PM
First off: This is product that pushed me from appreciation to straight up gratitude towards this site. You guys have helped me find the products to make me look and feel more beautiful than ever before. The actual product: It works great for me. My brows are filling in, my lashes are noticeably longer, and when I wear it under my mascara as a base, it honest to God looks like I'm wearing false lashes, that is the awesome effect I get (my Mascara is Cover Girl eyelights). And the most astounding bonus is that my eyelashes seem to have started growing into a perfect arch: When I wake up first thing in the morning all groggy and my hair a mess, my eyelashes look like a professional went at them with an eyelash curler. It's amazing. My method of appliance is as follows: I use it as a base for my mascara, applying it as I apply the regular mascara. I then style my brows with it, it's great for this. After I wash off my makeup at night, I apply it again to both brows and eyelashes, this time going a bit heavier on the lashes. I then gently wipe off any excess by just putting my finger up to my eye and blinking a couple of times - otherwise it gets in my contact lenses. And voila! Doe-eyes 24/7! So yeah. I don't know if it'll do the same for others, but it's my little darling, and I keep well stocked up on it.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Sapphire Sparkle
MissEstelle 5/30/2012 9:40:00 AM
I'm not sure about this one. It's a lovely color with plenty of pigment, easy enough to apply. I think perhaps it just doesn't work that well with my personal tastes. I balk a bit at the sight of myself with blue eye shadow, I just thought I'd give it a try. Oh well. I'm sure it looks perfectly good on many others.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Forever Fig
MissEstelle 5/30/2012 9:38:00 AM
Mmmh, perfect. I rarely invest in single eye shadow colors like this, but I'm glad I did this time. It's great. For everyday wear it doesn't really look like makeup at all, but the difference is still immense and the effect and deepening of the eyes is wonderful. With a heavier appliance it can be used to create a wonderful, warm smokey eye for parties. It's a kind of warm brown-tinted-purple fig (duh) color, which goes on my skin with a slight dark rosy tint as well. Very pretty.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - lip perfection Lipstick in Embrace
MissEstelle 4/23/2012 10:43:00 AM
So gorgeous! A really rich, deep darkpinkish/purplish color. Not too dark or dramatic, but picks up your whole face. I don't swipe it on (that makes it look a bit over the top), I just lightly pat it on, blot once, and it looks very low-key and actually quite natural, even while making my whole face light up. It feel a bit drying on its own (which is why 4 lips instead of 5), but I dab a bit of petroleum jelly on top, and it's perfect. UPDATE: Okay, screw that. I'm upping it to 5, dryness or no. I can't stop wearing this, just around the house and everywhere I go. With absolutely no other makeup on, I look glowing and energetic and gorgeous. Whenever I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, it makes me happy. I'm so in love with this.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection in Romance
MissEstelle 4/15/2012 10:00:00 AM
I got this by mistake - I ordered a different shade and they sent me this one. I decided to keep it and give it a chance, though. At first I didn't like it at all: The smell and texture to me was that of a very old fashioned lip stick, the old-lady smell I remember from playing with hideous and outdated makeup when I was little, and the drying feeling of clumpy color on my lips. And the color was equally dowdy, brown/purple and artificial looking and shiny in a bad way. I hated it. But then it seemed to settle an oxidize, and the color seemed to melt into my lips and became a very subtle, pretty nude just slightly richer than my own lips. The drying feel went away, the creases and clump melted, and I suddenly started to fall in love with it. Even the smell suddenly made me feel like a sophisticated lady, rather than a little girl covered in blue eye shadow and brown lipstick. Now I really like it. I give it a single quick swipe, blot lightly, pat a bit of night cream on top to keep it creamy and smooth, and it looks lovely.
