Eye Shadow -MAC - Paradisco (Frost)
MissAlphaKitty 9/19/2011 7:52:00 PM
Paradisco is a soft peachy corally pink in a frost finish. To me, Paradisco is like Expensive Pink's baby sister. Unfortunately it is not as pigmented as the better frost eyeshadows. It's so very pretty in the pan but the colour payoff isn't great. I was at a loss at how to use it until I discovered it is beautiful when used over Rubenesque paintpot. It is beautiful for fresh spring/summer looks using clours like All that Glitters, Expensive Pink, Bronze, Sumptuous Olive. High marks for being available in Pro Pan form . 1 lippie off for not being pigmented enough

Blush -MAC - Coppertone
MissAlphaKitty 9/15/2011 5:29:00 PM
Coppertone is described as a peach brown in a matte finish. It doesn't look special in the pan but applies to a beautiful color that is like Sunbasque only without the shimmer. It is nicely pigmented and not powdery or chalky. It is a gorgeous color for summer tan bronzy sunny looks and can fall into the category of "Blonzers" (Blush+Bronzer) Coppertone is probably best suited to ladies with tan skintones NC35 or darker and who are comfortable with blushes that have orangey undertones. I gave high marks for being available in Pro Pan form and while MAC blushes aren't dirt cheap, they are good quality and Coppertone matte is no exception. I'd like to also add that like most of MAC's matte finish blushes/ sculpting powders I find them to be more delicate and prone to chipping or shattering if dropped so do take care with them

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Pro Blending Fluff Brush
MissAlphaKitty 9/1/2011 8:58:00 PM
The coastal scents brushes can be inconsistent from batch to batch. this is a review of a brush I ordered in August 2011 Compared to my MAC 217 brush, it is not exactly a 217 dupe but a great brush in its own right. The reason why it's not an exact dupe is because it is slightly more crimped where the hairs attach at the ferrule. This makes the brush a slightly flattened version of the MAC 217. I would describe this brush a cross between a MAC 217 & MAC 239 I actually like the difference because I can pat on eyeshadow using the flattened side of the brush (like how you would pat on colour using a MAC 239) and blend out the colour with the domed fluffy part. I'm very happy I ordered 2 because they've been sold out for so long! ^_^

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Tapered Duo Fiber Brush
MissAlphaKitty 8/29/2011 11:02:00 PM
This is a great brush for $6.95 USD. I also own a MAC 131 and paid $48 CAD + taxes Normally, I would say it's not fair to compare cheap items to their expensive counterparts but in this case, I don't feel like i compromised anything in quality or function for the cheap dupe. This brush is VERY VERY similar to the MAC 131. This brush is great for control of highly pigmented powders such as blushes or dark powders like bronzers or MAC Shadester sculpting powder. For the great price, I plan to order a couple more to use with liquid foundation. The size is perfect for controlled application and getting into the little hollows of the face under the cheekbone, in the temple and beside the nose.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Foxy matte eyeshadow
MissAlphaKitty 3/8/2010 12:28:00 PM
Foxy is a matte eyeshadow. I am a NC35 at the moment & chose this colour over abc gum because foxy is more yellow (vs. abc gum which is peachy). I wanted a colour to highlight that had no shimmer. I'm getting older and opting for cleaner eye looks for a brighter look. It has become my favourite eyeshadow to use as a blending colour for eye and face. I would describe it to be a brightening non-colour. The soft texture is perfect for blending my face colours and disappears into my skincolor . If you are looking for obvious colour, this eyeshadow is probably not for you. As a soft subtle blending colour for yellow based skintones around NC35, it is perfect. It is so soft & subtle, I can see myself using this into summer (when I can get as dark as NC42).
