Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel
Misha32 4/29/2011 6:36:00 AM
I've been using these for years and never thought to write a review on here until i saw people raving. I figured I should join in on the praise. This is the poufy loofah's bigger, badder sister. These Japanese bath towel are the best. Not only do they lather up really well, making the most of your shower gels, but they exfoliate at the same time. Also, these are thinner than loofah's and dry completely, rather than staying damp and providing a bacterial breeding ground. (Can we all say GROSS?) Not all Japanese bath towels are created equal, I found this out when I had to buy a new one and grabbed one that was on sale. It was much softer and i didn't feel like it exfoliated as well.
Moisturizers -Jurlique - Moisture Replenishing Day Care Cream

This extra cold winter has left my usually combo skin feeling dry. I went into Sephora looking for a new moisturizer that would give me more moisture than my current moisturizer (Somme Institute A Bomb). After explaining my skin type and what I wanted, the SA showed me Jurlique's Moisture Replenishing Day Care Cream. At first, I was taken aback by the scent, as it reminded me of an old lady's floral perfume. Seeing how I wasn't quite sold, the SA gave me a few sample packets to try to see if I liked it. One thing he told me that I found rather unusual was that he recommended I wear this "day cream" at night because it would be too heavy in the day for me. He warned me that I would look quite shiny for the first 10 minutes after first putting it on. The next morning, I awoke to very soft, moisturized skin. And somehow, it made my T-zone less shiny. After I finish my samples I definitely plan on buying this.
This is the perfect vibrant red for me. I wear it with MAC lipliner in Cherry and it gives me a classic red lip. I like that it's matte because, to me, it feels like it stay on better. This is definitely not for someone who wants a little red, this is A LOT red.
Just for reference, I have normal skin with an oily T-zone, and don't really have any acne scars. For me, this foundation worked great! I would say it gives a light coverage that can be built up to medium coverage. The reason I like this foundation is because it goes on and looks like my skin, but better. It isn't too matte or too dewy, it's a good medium between the too. However, it is a little expensive, hence only 4 stars.
Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew

I saw my friend using this and tried it and immediately knew I had to go out to the store to get my own. The packaging is so cute and will make it easy to recognize by shape when digging in my purse for my chapstick. The smell is a nice fruity scent, reminds me of an old, old watermelon chapstick from Bath & Body Works. Also, this chapstick is moisturizing without leaving it dry a few hours later like some chapsticks can. Another good thing about this is that it's not expensive. I got mine at Walgreens for $3.49. I will rotate this with my beloved Burt's Beewax lip balm.
I like this shampoo, it cleanse and light moisturizes at the same time. Typically after I rinse my hair with other shampoos my hair is so tangly and I have to condition it to run my fingers through it again. With the DualSenses Rich Repair I don't really have to. Also it smells divine and lathers up really well. Would recommend and will repurchase.
I bought this is Dark Peach to use as an aid to my concealer but found that I can use this as my concealer. I find that the texture is creamy, doesn't crease, stays on well, and does a pretty decent job as counteracting undereye darkness. I find that when I do put concealer over this I have to be careful not to put too much because it can look cakey. This product is comparable to Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer.
Cleansers -Shiseido - The Skincare Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam
Misha32 1/9/2010 12:46:00 AM
For the winter I switch from a gel cleanser to a foam or lotion cleanser so that my skin doesn't get too dry. My friend had this at her house and I used it a few times and liked it enough to buy a tube for myself. It's kind of expensive, it's thirty something dollars. It cleanses my face well but it doesn't remove all my eye makeup, I still have to use a separate makeup remover. Even with that said, I feel like it cleans my skin thoroughly. When I use a toner afterwards there isn't any leftover grime. If I could've, I would rate this a 3.5.
I love this smell and love how huge the bottle is. You get 10 oz! I'm not usually a perfume girl, but Rain changed that. Rain is just so clean, crisp, refreshing, and light. It's not grandma-ish, nauseatingly sweet, too floral, or overbearing. It was originally a limited edition scent but I'm assuming because a large demand they brought it back for the holidays.
I wish there could be a 3.5 rating because 3 seems too low. I've been using this shampoo for 5 years. Occasionally, I'll try a different shampoo but am never satisfied. I use the "Repairing" formula and find it to clean my hair thoroughly without stripping it of moisture or it's color and I think it helps keep my hair soft. I know this isn't HG status, but I like it. I tend to splurge more on my conditioner and treatments rather than shampoo.
Finding a good undereye concealer for me is an ongoing process. I typically stick with more liquid/cream formulations because it blends better on this part of the face. That's what drew me to Cargo's OneBase. It covers well, offers buildability, and doesn't crease, (after a good dusting of translucent powder of course). However, it doesn't completely disguise the darkness underneath my eye, so not an HG, but still a good product.
Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer blush in Peachykeen
Misha32 12/31/2008 2:46:00 AM
I love peachy pink blushes! Peachykeen is different because it's more of a blue pink with frosty quality. I like to sometimes put this over Style, which is more of a peach with gold shimmer.
This is a matte blush that has absolutely no shimmer. I can only describe it as a pinky brown color that compliments my NC40 skin color. I have no problems with this being too light or too dark when applying it, two simple swipe with the blush brush seem to do the trick.
I got this in a gift bag and actually love this product. Admittedly, I kind of tossed it aside into the abyss that is my makeup collection. One day I just grabbed it, put it on, and was shocked by what a pretty color it was. It's a nice deep rose, that isn't super glossy or sticky (like MAC lipglass in clear), It has a more grown-up gloss, if that makes any sense, and isn't sticky. Love it. :)
Eye Shadow -MAC - Glitter Brilliant - Reflects Antique Gold
Misha32 12/31/2008 2:14:00 AM
I love glitter, so when I saw this at the MAC counter I knew I had to have it! And when I say glitter, think very small, refined glitter that won't scratch the hell out of your eyeball in case it falls in there, (because sometimes that happens). The name of the color is very descriptive of what it looks like, a very deep gold, like it's been oxidized. I've tried it over the new MAC Brushed Metal-X Creme E/S in Gilded Ash which results in a sexy, shimmery, smokey eye and TONS of compliments.
