Eye Shadow -NYX - smokie mountain
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 6/6/2010 5:46:00 AM

I bought Smokie Mountain blindly through Cambree.de (a German web site) as NYX Cosmetics doesn't sell its line in Italy. Luckly, when my order arrived, I couldn't be happier about it. - PRICE: € 3,95 – definitely a bargain!! - PIGMENTATION: highly pigmented, I can't really complain; - COLOR: pretty unusual, intense and long lasting; - QUALITY: it performs just as well as a high end eye shadow. So, if you ever get the chance to get your hands on Smokie Mountain, don't hesitate for a moment.. You won't regret it!

Treatments -LUSH - Grease Lightning Spot Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Mirtilla 1/8/2010 9:34:00 AM

I'm a massive Lush fan, I've tried almost everything they sell and I was dying to test this product. That being said, despite using it daily, I didn't notice ANY improvement on my blemishes, it only helped (a little) with inflammation. Ineffective, straight to my no-buy list.

Mascara -Make Up For Ever - Lash Fibers
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 9/27/2009 5:58:00 AM

Out of this world stuff - SO GREAT!! Last week I was at Sephora, very determinated to purchase the famous Shiseido mascara base when I suddenly saw this MUFE Lash Fibers laying on a shelf. I thought something like "Why not? I usually adore MUFE cosmetics" so I bought this base even without reading the reviews on MUA, which I assure you it's very rare. In short, I do love Lash Fibers. It improves mascara application and wear (no matter what kind of mascara you use) and seriously does not let it go during the day. It’s € 19 in Italy but I would repurchase this stuff even if they upped the price as you can really notice the difference – I’ve never had my lashes so volumized and lengthened. It’s just like I'm wearing a pair of falsies.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Yummy yummy yummy
rated 2 of 5
Mirtilla 8/30/2009 2:02:00 PM

"The little strawberry and the great barracuda" is how Lush decided to call the product in Italy. Attracted by this eye catching name, I decided to give the pinkish shower gel a try and put it on my basket among the other items I was pondering to buy. Unfortunately, such a girlish creation doesn't correspond to a very remarkable product. Because of its VERY watery formula, you really have to be prepared to put on your sponge a considerable amount of product every time. Not surprisingly, a watery shower gel isn’t a very effective cleanser either and YYY represents the perfect example. It smells like strawberries but the scent doesn't last long. I won’t buy this Lush gel again.

Cleansers -Kiehls - Washable Cleansing Milk
rated 3 of 5
Mirtilla 8/22/2009 4:22:00 PM

The first thing that comes to my mind about Kiehl’s Washable Cleasing Milk is how much I paid it: € 24,00 for a 250 ml bottle (=$ 34/8.4 fl. Oz) is JUST TOO DARN EXPENSIVE for what you get!! In any case, the product itself is pretty good: a very gentle white fluid that leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth. It also removes my make-up and other impurities pretty well. I don’t even consider the soapy chemical smell disturbing... I just wish the product wasn't so expensive. For that reason alone, I won't buy this cleanser again, or reccomend it to anyone.

Treatments -LUSH - Marilyn Hair Moisturiser
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 6/21/2009 3:39:00 PM

I suffer from VERY dry hair and I've used an uncountable number of products over the years. I discovered Marylin completely by chance, I got a sample at a Lush counter but at first I was extremely doubful. As a matter of fact, I’ve red highlights and natural brown hair so I really didn’t think this product was for me (a yellow treatment for blonde gals = what the hell?). But once tried, I’ve fallen hopelessly in love with it. Marilyn is one of the best hair treatments I've ever come across: not only leaves my hair soft, but also moisturizes and revitalizes it with a gorgeous hi-gloss finish. I’ve just finished my fourth tub - pretty self explanatory, isn’t it?

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 2 of 5
Mirtilla 4/26/2009 10:54:00 AM

Let me start by saying that I won't repurchase this mascara again. The huge yellow tube with purple lettering was very appealing and I secretly hoped it could turn out to be a cheaper alternative to my beloved DiorShow. Unfortunately, once tried, only my delusion was COLOSSAL. Volume and definition? No signs at all and my lashes looked messier than ever. It’s even pricey for what you get (about € 11 where I purchased it). So I honestly suggest you to stay away from Colossal, especially if you love DiorShow like me. From my point of view, the only attraction of this mascara is its packaging.

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
Mirtilla 3/29/2009 12:21:00 PM

I just don't get the point of this product... It's useless. I was looking for a not too dark tinted moisturizer and bought You Rebel Lite blindly on an on-line site. Tinted moisturizers can be used in place of a foundation for a natural look and I opted to get this one because I usually find Benefit products to be very good quality. How bad I didn’t read these reviews before placing the order! You Rebel Lite doesn’t add any color to my skin and, to make matters worse, my complexion looks paller and greasier than ever! Thumbs way down on this one, save your money with cheaper and more effective beauty products!

Shampoo -Korres - Juniper and Olive Tree Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
Mirtilla 2/22/2009 5:17:00 AM

I hate to say this, but I don't like this shampoo. I had dyed my hair with henna by the time I was fourteen so my scalp and hair are pretty dry right now. In this light, when I saw Korres products on a shelf of a store that carries this brand, I picked up Juniper an Olive Tree shampoo expecting it could be the right product for me. Wrong! Point one: it doesn't give my hair volume and I'm not particularly pleased that the shampoo advertises to repair hair, it's NOT true (at least in my case)!!! Point two: the price, not exactly cheap. Point three: I noticed that after using this product my hair looked frizzier than ever. So thumbs way down on this one!

Lip Treatments -La Roche Posay - ceralip
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 1/9/2009 12:15:00 PM

Can't say enough good things about this product. Especially during winter, I used to suffer from VERY dry chapped lips and, in order to prevent this, I tried a bunch of lip treatments. Unfortunatly, no one didn't really seem to work. Then I purchased La Roche Posay Ceralip without high hopes and.. WHAT A SURPRISE, it started working instantly, healing and protecting my lips completely. Trust me, this is a superior treatment - probably one of the best on the market. 100% fragrance free and ideal for everyone, including children. Definitely a winner!!

Toners -L'Occitane - Almond Apple Toning Cider
rated 4 of 5
Mirtilla 1/8/2009 4:02:00 AM

I like this toner. It was bought on a whim a month ago and I've never regretted it. So far, so good. I see no drying, flaking or allergy to this its gentle formula that combines organic apple cider vinegar with the toning proprieties of almond proteins. By the way, as the previous reviewer pointed out, they claim an unseen immediate reduction in size of open pores. Misleading advertising? Who knows! In any case, I I'd still recommend the Almond Apple Toning Cider, especially if you need a natural origin product and don't mind a strong fragrance.

Eye Makeup Remover -Nivea - Gentle Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5
Mirtilla 1/7/2009 12:05:00 PM

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this remover yet, I use it since I was 20 and I'm 32 y/o now. Cheap and very effective (at least with my eye m/u), this is the only Nivea product I purchase with some regularity. I would recommend this stuff to anyone who use mascara everyday like I do - it leaves my lids and lashes feeling super clean.

Palettes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Primpcess [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Mirtilla 1/6/2009 4:29:00 AM

Let me start by saying that I'm a big fan of the brand. Personally, I like using their great quality professional products. In this light, when I purchased Primpcess, my hopes were high. After one week of usage, I consider this set anything special. Why? First off, the powder e/s: pigmented but also pretty common, it’s very easy to find dupes of them (both high end and drugstore brands) on the market. Secondly, the mascara (“Bad Gal”): nice to use but no so remarkable. Thirdly, the creaseless cream shadow: I find my UD and ArtDeco e/s bases WAY better for the purpose so there’s no competition between them. Last but not least, Boi-ing # 2 (a concealer too dark for me) and Eye Bright, actually the only product of the set I’d love to buy full size. No, I won’t repurchse this kit in the future.

Cleansers -L'Occitane - Ultra Rich Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 1/4/2009 2:11:00 PM

Am I the first one to review this item? Cool! By the way, I bought this stuff while I was leaving for a trip and I needed an easy to handle cleanser to bring with me. The silver unconventional tube of L'Occitane Ultra Rich Foaming Cleanser caught my attention so I decided to read the description on the packaging and thought.. why not? *** Description: rich in Shea butter (6%), this foaming cleanser allows the pleasure of water cleansing without its drying effects. It gently cleanses and removes make up. Your skin is soft, fresh and glowing. *** Price: € 14,00 (in Italy) *** Overall impression: a little sceptical at first, I changed my mind as soon as I tried it. I've always thought L'Occitane products were a bit overrated, but this cleanser is incredibly good as it leaves my skin soft, polished, glowing and absolutely supple! Really does what it promises and can easily and very gentle remove the most stubborn make-up. New HG. *** Ingredients: Water, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)**, Laureth-2**, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate**, Sodium Chloride**, Tocopherol**, Fragrance, Polyquaternium-10, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Benzyl Alcohol**, Benzyl Benzoate**, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone. **Natural origin

Blush -MAC - Cantaloupe
rated 5 of 5
Mirtilla 12/28/2008 1:51:00 PM

I got this blush as a Christmas gift and I really couldn't love it more. Cantaloupe’s a pale pink blush that looks best with any kind of smokey eyes. This pro product adds just the right amount of rosey glow to my cheeks without looking fake. As a matter of fact, thanks to Cantaloupe, no more worries to pair a blush shade with a heavy eye make-up! And that’s probably why it got such a high rating here: if money isn't an object, you really should have one in your beauty bag.
