Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
rated 4 of 5
Miribelle 1/1/2013 2:24:00 AM

This is a wonderful primer for the price. The trick to using it is dab a small amount on the lid, blend out and let dry for about 30 seconds until it is tacky. I have found that my eyeshadow will last a good 6 to 8 hours over this primer. It isn't strongly pigmented so it does not alter the look of eye shadow applied over it. When blended out properly it appears colorless on the skin. The formula feels a lot lighter than a lot of HE primers like UDPP. UDPP makes my eyelids feel tight and heavy which is a problem I do not have with this primer. If you have had a similar issue with silicone based HE primers, give this one a try. It does not irritate my sensitive eyelids. It comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator.

Palettes -Smashbox - Softbox Photo Op - Fall 2012
rated 4 of 5
Miribelle 11/7/2012 11:20:00 AM

Very beautiful selection of shadows if you want to create a soft look. The shadows themselves are not as pigmented as I would expect for the price, but can be built up and blended nicely. "Vanilla" and "pebble", the beige and grey shades, are the two mattes in the palette. Pebble is very similar to copperplate by Mac but leans a little warmer with a tad more brown in it. The rest of the shades are satin finishes. I haven't had a fallout issue once the shadows are on the lid, but I do get a fair amount of fallout as I'm picking color up out of the pan. I have only tried these over a primer, because my oily lids make it impossible to wear shadow otherwise, so I cannot say how long the color lasts without it. With a primer they stay in place all day but tend to fade in intensity after about 6 hours. Over all it is a great neutral palette that will compliment warm and cool skin tones. I personally wouldn't repurchase because the colors aren't very unique and by the time I am done with it I will move on to something new.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moon Drops Creme - Persian Melon 585
rated 4 of 5
Miribelle 2/29/2012 2:26:00 PM

I picked up this color when I heard it was the color worn by the original Pam Am stewardesses. I was sad to learn that although it is the right name, Persian Melon, the actual color they wore now goes by the name Blase Apricot (#702) in the moondrops line. Like all moondrops this has a strong soapy/chemically floral scent. This comes out to be a BRIGHT hot pink color on my light complexion and naturally pigmented lips. I have not had the bravery to wear it full force in public yet. I do love to use it as a lip stain however. If I have time in the morning I slather it on my lips full force. Once it has sat on my lips for an hour or two, I use a little vaseline and tissue it off. What is left is a BEAUTIFUL and very natural looking berry stain on my lips that lasts all day, even with repeated balm or gloss application. I own multiple moondrops lipsticks and this is the way I wear them all. I recommend it highly because it is far more natural looking than using a "lip stain" product.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous- Blushing Mauve
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 8/7/2011 10:20:00 PM

This is a great MLBB shade on me, it is almost the exact color of my natural lips, just a tad pinker and shiny. I have cool undertones, it doesn't look grey or washed out on me like some other reviewers have experienced. I almost didn't pick it up because it is a pearl finish but am glad I did because it isn't too frosty and has a nice understated sheen finish.

Primer/ Corrector -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector
rated 4 of 5
Miribelle 8/5/2011 5:14:00 PM

So far I like this product better than anything else I have tried yet. I have very bluish, hereditary dark circles under my eyes and have been looking for a good product to cover them without looking too mask like, light, cakey or yellow. This product covers them well with two thin coats. The color I have, Buff 09, has yellow undertones to mask the blue tones of dark circles. The packaging is ok, it comes in a twist up tube with a brush applicator that the product is dispensed through. It can be a little difficult getting the right amount of product. It does have a little window so you can see when you are running out of product which is nice. I would not consider this a "brightener" or "highlighter" in the general cosmetic sense, as it does not have any shimmer or reflects in the formula. It tends to settle a little in fine lines, but I have yet to find a product that doesn't, and even though it does, I have definitely seen worse. I set it with a little translucent powder and it does wonders for my dark circles and dark spots around my eyes. I would not recommend this to anyone who likes full coverage makeup. I would recommend this to folks like me who like to get some coverage while maintaining a natural look. I would repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Face Powder
rated 4 of 5
Miribelle 8/2/2011 9:32:00 PM

I just got this powder and was going to wait until I wore it a few times to do a review. However, I have had such a great experience wearing this the first time that I had to sit down and review it. The first time I wore this powder I got carded (for the first time in forever!) when buying wine at the grocery store. The clerk stared at my ID for a long time, then finally looked up and told me he was absolutely shocked at my age. He said I looked very young. Then my husband came home later that day and said I looked absolutely beautiful and glowing. I attribute all of this to the powder! I wear it over Roc anti aging primer and moisturizer only. I'm not a big fan of liquid foundation, which is why I purchased this product after a lot of MUA research. I wanted a pressed powder foundation that was fragrance free, irritant free and had medium coverage. This powder fits the bill! The product is finely milled and goes on smoothly. It has no fragrance I can detect, feels light on the skin and provides decent medium coverage. I have this in creamy natural, which is ever so slightly light on me, but it blends beautifully and doesn't clash with my pinky undertones. It comes with its own brush which I threw directly in the garbage in favor of applying it with my own kabuki. The packaging is a tad cheesy which is why I rated this a 4 instead of a 5. Also it is expensive for a drugstore product, I paid about $15 at CVS. The compact does have its own mirror however, which is nice. I will definitely repurchase, hopefully with a coupon.

Lip Gloss -Neutrogena - MoistureShine Lip Soother Cooling Hydragel SPF20
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 8/1/2011 5:45:00 PM

I love love LOVE this gloss. It is the perfect gloss for me for a few reasons: it isn't sticky, it is moisturizing and doesn't irritate my sensitive lips, it has ZERO glitter in it (at least in the color I have, shine 30) and it tastes and smells great. It has a bit of a minty taste that cools your lips when you apply it and has a fun summery fruity smell. The packaging is also great. I love glosses that come in a squeeze tube because I find wands gross and unhygienic. This squeeze tube stays clean, the product doesn't get all over the cap and bottle making your hands a sticky mess. Perfection! I will definitely purchase again.

Lipstick -Revlon - Cherries In The Snow
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 7/30/2011 8:11:00 PM

I bought this lipstick because I was specifically looking for a dark fuchsia pink as opposed to a classic red color. I got exactly what I was looking for! On my cool toned skin, this color comes out a very rich, deep fuchsia. It looks great paired with a slightly darker and redder lipliner and then blended (blend blend blend!). This creates a nice contoured lip. Again the key is to BLEND, otherwise one can end up with a just-drank-red-kool-aid look which isn't very flattering.

Eyeliner -Avon - Satin Gel Eye Liner - Brown Pearl
rated 3 of 5
Miribelle 7/29/2011 8:47:00 PM

The consistency of this product was exactly what I was expecting from a gel liner and it applied easily and highly pigmented. It had good staying power as well. I am only giving it a 3 because the color was very blah. It turned a very muddy grayish brown after a few hours. It also contains flecks of glitter that are very unappealing. It does not have a consistent glittery finish, more like a few random specks of gold glitter here and there. Very unappealing! I will most likely not repurchase.

Eyeliner -MAC - Grey Utility Powerpoint
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 7/28/2011 8:06:00 PM

This was the first grey eyeliner I every purchased, being a lifetime brown eyeliner gal. At first I did not like the color on me, it is a flat grey with a bit of a blue undertone to it. I decided to try it a few days before making up my mind to keep it or not. It turned out to be a keeper! The color is beautiful for green/blue eyes like mine, it looks very natural and makes my upper lashline pop! I use it only on my upper lashes so I can't say how well it stays on the waterline. I recommend this to anyone who wants to make their eyes pop while keeping a natural look. It does not smudge on me or fade too terribly after being on all day. I do use a primer and eyeshadow under it (for reference). My HG grey eyeliner.

Eyeliner -MAC - Coffee Eyepencil
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 7/28/2011 7:59:00 PM

This is my HG brown eyeliner and is THE perfect brown eye pencil. It is neither too gray, too red or too muddy. It is a great true coffee brown that looks wonderfully natural on me. I almost never wear any kind of black makeup because everything I have tried turns ashy or blue on my skin, so I stick to brown as my go to liner color. This pencil stays true to color with out fading to a muddy mess. I wear it on my top lid only so I can't say how well it sticks to the water line. It is very smooth, easy to apply, easy to sharpen and easy to smudge when needed. Will continue to buy until the end of time.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous-- Love That Pink
rated 5 of 5
Miribelle 7/28/2011 7:53:00 PM

I just picked up this color today because my ulta was having a buy one get one 50% off sale. This color is a very vintage yellow-pink that can be garish or flattering depending on how you apply it. Straight from the tube it is very opaque, bright and a tad clownish. I apply it very lightly with a lip brush and it gives me a very natural pink flush. Paired with NARS Mata Hari blush it is simply adorable!
