Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
Mimiii 2/9/2013 3:40:00 PM
This is the first eye shadow primer I've tried (have also tried Urban Decay Primer Potion, but this elf one is my first). I have used this with cheap, drugstore eye shadows, but also with high quality ones, like my Urban Decay Naked Pallet. I find both eye shadows stay on all day while using this and they never, ever crease. I have dry skin, but my eyelids are SUPER oily, it's as if all the oil my face doesn't produce goes to my eyelids, and I also have hooded eyes. Having this in mind, wearing eyeshadow is difficult for me already, and I need a good primer. I find this works so good! My only complaint is the smell; very chemically and synthetic, but not unbearable and it doesn't linger when you put it on, either. I think it smells better than UD Primer Potion, though, and works just as well. The packing is nothing special, but it is sturdy and convenient for travel. I use this every time I wear eye shadow, wether it be for a few hours with a simple look, or if I want something super long wearing and dramatic, it works. UD Primer Potion is just as good, but the Elf one is a dollar and drugstore, price and accessibility you can't beat. Just try it, and if you don't like it, it was just a dollar. I'm quite fair and mine is in the color Sheer, if you were wondering. Honestly, there is not much to say about this product, other than it's very good. Will repurchase, and I gave it 4 lippies because of the smell, but overall, great product for an unbeatable price.

Blush -Maybelline - FIT ME/light pink
Mimiii 1/13/2013 3:10:00 PM
I will only use matte blushes, I hate anything with glitter/sparkle/shimmer, unless it's eyeshadow, but I still prefer matte over anything else. At the store this didn't seem matte, but it didn't seem shimmery either, more like satin-ish (?), so I brought it, can't remember the exact price. I hate the packaging, because I find the space for the blush brush they provide very unnecessary, since I never use the brushes drugstore make up provides; they just don't do much for me. But I don't buy things according to how they look, I only care how they work, because you can always depot make up if you absolutely can't stand the packaging. This blush is not very pigmented, but I like that. Having fair skin, I'd much rather pack on layers of blush then use too much and have to re-do my face make up all over again. The actual color is gorgeous! But it's too shimmery for me and I dislike that. Also, the staying power is not good, I would say 2 hours, 3 tops. At the end of the day my cheekbones are left with a streak of glitter, not the nice, subtle flush you would expect. I will finish this product and use it if I'm going to run some errands that won't take too long, like the supermarket or going to town or something. All in all; hate the packaging, I would love the color if it was matte, the staying power sucks and I just feel like my cheeks are full of glitter by the end of the day. Would never, ever repurchase and I don't recommend this one bit.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
Mimiii 1/8/2013 12:09:00 AM
This is the first concealer I have ever tried and after seeing the rave reviews, I decided to try it, and I am not disappointed! It cost me about $6, maybe a bit more, but no more than $7. As soon as I got home I tried this out and after using just the tiniest amount (smaller than a pin head!) and dabbing it on the back of my hand to test it out, and holy crap! I can safely say this covered most of the back of my hand with even, flawless, natural coverage! I tried this for my under eye circles and let me tell you, they're DARK; it's a hereditary thing. I used the smallest amount and it was enough for both eyes and quite a few blemishes. It did crease ever so slightly, but I applied a bit of my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set it and it that helped. It covered my acne and hyper-pigmentation perfectly and flawlessly, looking very natural. I have this in the color Ultra Light and it has a very yellow undertone, that's why it's so good at hiding my under eye circles. I have very dry skin in the winter and it did settle into one of my dry patches while using my Revlon ColorStay for normal/dry skin, however I used this once with a tinted moisturizer and did not have that problem, so make sure skin is well moisturized before using this (as with all products!) since it will settle into those dry patches. And if you have oily skin, I believe this is perfect, for it has great coverage but amazing staying power also. It didn't look cackey throughout the day either. Also, on a side note, I had run out of my eye shadow primer and used this as a substitute for when I was going with my family to the mall and when I got back at night, my eye shadow still looked intact and quite fresh. Also I want to say that the packaging is adorable, as with most Hard Candy products! I would repurchase, but it would take me forever to do so because it's such a small amount I use on a day to day basis. I would give it five lippies, if only it hadn't settled into my dry patches, but it's something with an easy fix. It's very inexpensive and you use a little amount, so I recommend this to everyone (maybe not so much if you have suuuupr dry skin). Also, as for the little liner-concealer thingy (sorry I don't know the correct, fancy name) but it has good coverage! Good for small birth marks or freckles. All in all, a great product!!

Primer/ Corrector -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer
Mimiii 1/6/2013 4:26:00 PM
This is the first make up primer I've ever used, so be warned, I don't know how this compares to high end ones, and I would like to try those, but I still think this product is wonderful. It goes on the skin very smooth and velvety; it has a very silicone-y texture to it, which was weird for me at first but I now really, really like it. I use this with my Revlon ColorStay (recently switched to the dry/normal skin formulation but works just as well with either formulations) which already has excellent staying power, but I feel more comfortable wearing make up if I know there is a sort of barrier between my foundation and my moisturized skin. I've also used this with my L'Oreal Magic Smooth Soufflé (sadly, it's being discontinued). It is a good foundation, but I had issues with the staying power, since I go to school in Puerto Rico where it's hot and humid and there is no air conditioning in our classrooms, you can imagine how I looked at the end of the day. But while using it in conjunction with this primer, it lasted considerably more! The foundation didn't look as fresh as I wish it had, (however I strongly believe this to be the foundation's fault, not the primer's) but you could tell I still had some on! This product is wonderful. You don't have to let it 'sit' before applying foundation, which I like, I'm usually in a rush, so this is perfect. It helps my make up last for a long time, and the best part is that I have never, ever had a breakout due to this product, and I have acne prone skin. My skin used to be combination, but recently, it has gotten very dry and works just was well, so I would recommend this for all skin types! It's not expensive and you need such little product to get the job done! It aids in making the foundation application much more smooth and easy. All in all, you won't be disappointed and I'm nearly finished with my bottle (let me tell you, that bottle lasts forever!) and I plan on going to Walmart to repurchase!

Lip Treatments -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C lip balm
Mimiii 11/4/2012 1:51:00 AM
I use two lip balms, one during the day (Burt's Bees Medicated Lip Balm) and this one before I go to bed. It has no petroleum in it, with is great for me! I use it at night because it's quite... thick and waxy feeling on the lips, like you can really feel it on your lips constantly. I'm doing a lousy job explaining this but the best I can come up with is that it doesn't feel as natural as most lip balms (or at least my Burt's Bees one) does. When I wake up in the morning I can STILL feel it on my lips and they are very moisturized. It does have an orange-y, citrus-y smell, but I don't consider it a strong scent and it doesn't linger on my lips. My Grandma brought me this, but I've seen some reviews saying it was about 5 dollars a tube, which is a bit expensive, but since I only use it once before bed, for me, it lasts a long time. All in all, I personally don't mind the price, but for daily use, yes, I think it's expensive, and if I can sleep all night and wake up with it still on my lips, my best guess is that you won't need to reapply much, and it does feel quite waxy, almost like it DID have petroleum (but doesn't!), faint, yet pleasant smell that doesn't linger on my lips for long and finally, suuuuuper moisturizing, so if you are into that then I suppose it's the product for you.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Medicated Lip Balm
Mimiii 10/28/2012 1:57:00 PM
I have tried the Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm before I tried this one, and they're both great, but I feel like I like this one more! The Beeswax one left my lips a bit more tingly than this one does. This lip balm (Medicated one) does such a good job at moisturizing my lips and I don't even have to reapply that often! I've seen some people complain about the smell, but I like it a lot, and also the smell does tend to stay on your lips, so I think that if you are going to purchase this, you really, really need to like the smell. What drew me to The lip balm was that it didn't have any petroleum in it. I don't like petroleum anywhere near me (except my eyelashes at night) because it creates a film on the skin, kind of like baby oil (aka mineral oil) does, and it soaks up the rays of the sun. Why do you think people put on baby oil when they go tanning?! *DiamondsAndHeels14 has a video on this called "why should you avoid wearing lipgloss in the Summer" where she explains what petroleum and mineral oil does.* But all in all, the ingredients in this are great, I believe the price is good (about 3 dollars I think?), it moisturizes my lips for a long time, the actual product lasts a long time and this is pretty much my Holy Grail lip balm, one of my stapples! I would of course repurchase!

Tinted Moisturizer -Femme Couture - Femme Couture Tinted Moisturizer
Mimiii 10/27/2012 6:32:00 PM
I brought this at Sally's Beauty Supply for under 10$ (I can't remember the exact price). I wanted something that wasn't as heavy as foundation, but offered more coverage than my Maybelline BB Cream, so I got this in the shade Natural Buff, which is just a tad bit darker than my skin tone, but with some powder over it, it looked just fine. It smells heavily of sunscreen but that doesn't bother me. My face felt a bit greasy but what I really didn't like is that it seems to have kind of like glitters in it, and I like my face matte. I put some of the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent over it and it seemed to go away, but after a very short while it came back. It is very moisturizing and after a few minutes the greasy feeling went away when I set it with powder. I only use this when my skin is really dry and I don't like the fine glitters I find in it, even with lost of powder, after a short while the glitters become noticiable again. It offers sheer coverage; enough to fade a little bit of hyperpigmentation on my cheecks from my acne. Also it didn't break me out or anything. I like the packaging a lot, actually, it's what drew me to the product. It comes in a clear tube, so you can see the color and estimate how much you have felt and has all the drugfacts written ON the product (I like that because when a product comes in a box (this one doesn't) the drug facts are usually in the box and if you throw the box away you no longer the ingredients of the product you are using!) Staying power is good, but if you are going to be active or sweating during the day it wears off a bit easily. I'm from Puerto Rico and we don't have air conditioning in most public schools and by my fourth period (P.E. class) there's hardly any of this left on my face. If it only had a matte finish, I think I would've liked it, but I don't plan on purchasing again.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
Mimiii 10/26/2012 9:39:00 AM
This would work really good for someone with very oily skin. I have combination, yet very acne prone skin. My acne is mild to moderate, but can break out easily. I exfoliate with my St. Ives Apricot Scrub (the one with 2% salicylic acid) before applying this to my skin. When I rinse it off after about 20 minutes, all I notice is some reduced redness and my skin looks less oily (I don't have oily skin really, but that is the best explanation I could come up with). I would repurchase because I think this product is simply good to have around, but I have not found anything that works better than the Proactive Refining Mask. This mask (Queen Helene) felt a bit tingly on my skin (I believe that is because of the mint in it) but after a while it went away. I have the tub packaging, and I like it more than the tube because and I can use every bit of it and the product lasts a lot (I use it once a week). This mask is okay, but I didn't do anything for my acne.

Polishes -Revlon - Black With Envy
Mimiii 8/25/2012 7:44:00 PM
I love this color! It's limited edition, so I want to buy another bottle for when I finish this up, that's how much I like it, since I hardly ever repurchase any nail polish because I enjoy trying different ones. This is great if you want dark, elegant nails but don't want to use something as dark as black. I hear people saying this is a dupe for Chanel's Black Pearl; I honestly wouldn't know because I don't have it, but this is such a pretty color. I use 3 coats, just to make sure, but with 2 it's already opaque, at least for me. Now, the staying power on this is great. I don't use a base coat, or a top coat. I've been wearing it for a week and all I got is this little chip in my right index finger. Imagine what the staying power would be if I used a base coat and a top coat?! I do have to let each coat dry COMPLETELY, it can't even be a liiiiitle wet because it just looks streaky and weird when I put the other coat on. I keep asking people if it's more of a metallic black or a metallic gray, because I really can't tell. It doesn't remind so much of a black pearl, it's more like metal. I really have no idea how I would describe the color, but it's fantastic.

Scrubs -St. Ives - St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub
Mimiii 7/29/2012 6:13:00 PM
I love this! I use it once a week, every Wednesday if you're womdering. I finished it completely and am now using the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Foaming Scrub, since I enjoy trying different srubs. I'm also using the new formula. This scrub leaves my skin sososo soft and my skin tone is actually better and more even! It does such a fantastic job at exfoliating! I have combination, but very acne prone skin and this helps remove all the dead skin cells from my face and I feel like it has actually helped with my acne, altough this doesn't have any acne medication in it. I do like the smell, it doesn't bother me and I feel like it really does help get my skin clear! I brought the one for sensitive skin because any apricot scrub is harsh enough, so I wanted to get the most gentle one out there so it wouldn't irritate my skin! All in all, a great product for a good price and if you don't like it for your face, you can even use it on your body; I do sometimes!

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
Mimiii 7/29/2012 3:05:00 PM
With so much talk and hype about BB Creams, I've been wanting to try one for a while and saw this at my local Walgreens. It cost me about $10.00 and I use the shade Light. I have never tried a tinted moisturizer or a BB Cream, so I wouldn't exactly know what I would truly label it as. Actually, I love this product. I have combination, but very acne prone skin and it does not break me out what so ever, maybe because it says it's free of oils. It hardly offers any coverage, so if you have a lot to cover up, or prefer full coverage foundations, this is not for you. I love that it has spf 30 in it! I do apply another moisturizer before using this (in case you are wondering it's the Olay Beauty Fluid Moisturizer, witch is super light weight, doesn't make me oily and does an exelent job at moisturizing). This is great for daily use or for those lazy days where putting on foundation is just too much. I hardly use my Revlon ColorStay anymore because I like this so much. If there is anything I wish to cover, I will just go in with a concealor, and that's it. I do think it's a bit pricey; $10.00 for 1 fluid ounce and no good coverage? The main reason why I like this is because it is super light weight and has such a great spf! If you want something with sheer coverage for everyday use, I would suggest you try this! I only gave it four lippies because I wish it had just a bit more coverage and was a bit cheaper, but all in all, I do see myself repurchasing as soon as I run out!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner
Mimiii 7/3/2012 5:32:00 PM
My grandma was at the drugstore and I told her to pick up a new eye liner for me, and sadly I forgot to tell her the exact name of the one I wanted, so that's how I ended up with this. It is very pigmented and I use it on my waterline. It's easy to apply and it doesn't irritate my eyes. However it doesn't stay on a lot of time and for me, it fades rather quickly. I put it on at about 6:40am to go to school and by second period it's gone. We're talking about maybe 2-3 hours of staying power, witch to me, is not much. I was practicing a winged eye liner with this and my lids are very, very oily and I have hooded eyes and when I look in the mirror and close my eyes to see, theres a huge black crease on my lid! Also, the words on the packaging faded, too and that annoys me. I did not like this and I will not repurchase.

Crème -L'Oreal - magic smooth souffle
Mimiii 7/2/2012 5:09:00 PM
Well, I used to LOVE this foundation. It had pretty good coverage, it was easy to spread and my face looked beautiful, also, having fair skin, it's hard to find a color to match your skin, but a 512 Classic Ivory looked very nice. The only I don't like is the staying power. I got to school and I don't have time to touch up my make up and I live in Puerto Rico so it's pretty hot, and our classroms don't have air conditioning, so this wore out pretty fast. The product lasts a long time and the packging is great, but it stays on for such little time, that I just don't think it's wroth it. The staying power on this sucks. Also, it's a bit expensive for a drugstore founation. I got mine at Walmart for about $15.00 but i've seen this as expensive as $18.00 or maybe even more. I would not repurchase and I prefer my Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination skin!

Styling Products -Neutrogena - Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream for Med/Coarse Thick Hair
Mimiii 7/2/2012 4:54:00 PM
I've used about 5 bottles of this, and I like it, but I now use One 'N Only Curl Cream with Argan Oil, and it works wonders! But I do like this product. It leaves my hair suuper soft and easy to comb, and I have curly hair, so yeah. It does not provide good frizz control, but I used it with a little bit of mousse and it looked great! It nourished my hair and left it silky soft all day and it did not make my hair feel greasy (a problem I had with the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine, even if I used very minimal product). All in all a good product, and I would only repurchase it if I couldn't find my One 'N Only Curl Cream!

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Mechanical Eyelash Curler
Mimiii 7/2/2012 4:34:00 PM
This is the first eyelash curler I've ever used and it only cost me a dollar. I wanted to see if it really made a difference, using an eye lash curler I mean, and it sure did! But, this doesn't quite fit my eye right...? I'm not sure how to explain it. It's not bad, and if you can't afford something better, this is a good buy, but I would personally like to try a new one. I will continue to use this until I have some spare money to try something else. This is not bad, but not great, but hey, it only cost me a dollar and it gets the job done! I would suggest buying this if you don't have much to spend and want an eyelash curler, but if you can afford something a bit better, then go for it. I would not repurchase this.
