Eyeliner -Pixi - Endless Silky Eye Pen (all shades)
Miffymiffy 7/15/2011 7:59:00 PM
I am a bit of an eyeliner junkie, forever trying out more and more that promise non-smudging long lasting effects. Was a little sceptical after reading good and bad reviews. I bought black cocoa on ASOS for £6 on sale (even though it retails £9.50 on Boots). This is a dark brown eyeliner which is quite creamy but not enough to draw a super smooth liner. Nonetheless after using this for four days straight, I am loving it! I have oily eyelids which often causes my eyeliners to smudge into the creases and below my eyelids. This eyeliner stayed put very very well. I am so impressed. Okay fine by ten hours, it may have smudged a tad but boy it's better than my Barry M and Avon supershock eyeliners in terms of lasting effects. It really i worth paying that little extra. Comparable to Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners

Eyeliner -Avon - SuperShock Gel Eyeliner Pencil
Miffymiffy 5/29/2011 6:20:00 PM
Super black and creamy texture. I have chinese asian eyes which can become oily by the end of the day. Seeing people rave that it is better than 24/7 Urban Decay eyeliners, I had to get one to try. 24/7 is good but still smudges on me. I don't mind having to sharpen this pencil each time I use it. Unfortunaltely it does smudge in my inner corners and crease area after a few hours of wear. Must be just my asian eyes because many people are saying it is smudge-proof. I have tried setting it with black eyeshadow (creep by Urban Decay) and it has helped it stay in place more. Not an eyeliner I feel like picking up when I'm pushed for time but still quite good.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Smitten
Miffymiffy 9/26/2007 10:44:00 PM
I put I'd buy again only because it's a quick fix to experiencing snowcake without needing to wash. I agree it can be a little oily but really just use less product and give it time to soak in and it'd be fine. The first few times I used this i even gave it ten minutes to soak in. Yup I agree also this is a more of a night hand cream. I like applying it on right before sleeping. Able to smell it while in bed and when i wake it my hands are smooth. (at least better than helping hands where the scent put me off straight away and couldn't decide if it moisturised well. I'd rather use smitten a few more times in a day than use helping hands!) occasionally if im feeling i really want to smell snokecake loads, I'd apply it as an all over body cream. I did it a couple of times and my tube still looks like its got loads left. I'm not bothered about the black tub packaging as it's what is inside that counts. LUSH is into all that organic, animal testing free, enviromentally friendly that packaging is not really an option to review much on

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
Miffymiffy 9/23/2007 11:40:00 PM
I'd never used Benefit's products before but always heard of them. Boots was doing a deal where you get 500 points (£5) when you buy two products. I fell for it and bought four things to get 1000 points, ahh. Anyways I was looking at the stand but had absolutely no clue what to look at first. The SA came up to me and applied different things. I couldn't tell much difference when she applied That Gal on half of my face but it was because the store had such bright lights. I love the scent of rasberry milkshake/bubblegum. Many negative reviews complain about the none glowing effect expected. I was told by SA straight away that it reflects light without the shimmer. Now in the past when i tried out things that is meant to make me glow, they just end up being filled with shimmer/metallic non natural looking stuff on my face. Whereas i love this product with Chamomile to calm the skin and pinkness to make my skin not as dull looking. It makes me seem more awake in a natural way. I use it without foundation, just on its own so could be different with others i guess. I do however apply a little powder (mainly nose and t-zone) due to my oiliness later on the day. I've dumped mainy products away without even getting to half way and this I think will be one i will use up for the first time regardless of the price it's worth looking natural for once. Its worth every use. AND it costs more in uk. £19.50!

Scrubs -LUSH - Buffy the Backside Slayer
Miffymiffy 8/8/2007 10:01:00 PM
originally i would have put repurchase but now haved changed my mind. I bought two of these to get a free tin and as i couldn't find aqua mirabuilis (don't know the name properly). I certainly didn't like the oily effect that came after the shower so i used honey i washed the kids soap after scrubbing with buffy. it worked for a good while and even started using buffy on my feet and legs and that really moisturised them, since my legs are often dry from shaving. Recently I'd been busy working everyday and studying for exams, that made me so tired I delayed my weekly scrubs. well....I left my Buffy bar in the tin for something like ten days, took it out to use and saw all these black dotty molds on one side of the bar!!!! REALLY GROSS. it put me off so bad I threw away a good half a bar into the bin. The red beans (aduki) and almond shavings really do a good scrub and I even got used to the lavender smell (i don't like the smell of lavender) but i guess it's a body butter you cannot abandon for long. unfortunately has put me off completely from repurchasing

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - Eau de gloss
Miffymiffy 5/4/2007 8:40:00 AM
I bought the mocha latte shade which is quite neutral on me. I usually don't go for obvious red/pinks as i worry it will leak away from my lips. Anyways, i got this in Boots spotting it'd come out at last and it was on offer for £5.25 I was obsessed with lip gloss last year for a while as i liked them keeping my lips from drying out but eventually got sick of hair sticking to my lips. Sticky feeling got to me and i reverted back to carmex lip balm. I gave this a go hearing it's water based and suppose to be non-sticky. It really is! It is so unsticky that i wonder if I'd applied any on at all. Its not super shiney so it's leans slightly onto the more natural looking side so it's not obvious thick gloopy looking gloss. I think i may try a light pink shade (can't remember shade name). The bottle is the sweetest looking. Only draw back i have with this, is you can hardly see the inside gloss as the sticker around covers it completely. I'd liek to see how much gloss is left. And the other is that brush application. People may prefer this but it'd be easier for me on the go if it was more of a spongey tip than pointy brush. Besides those two things, I'm still going to buy another bottle. For under a tenner it's worth a try

Styling Products -Sebastian - Potion 9
Miffymiffy 4/20/2007 10:39:00 AM
I had a disaster at a hairdressers on hoilday to hk, my straightening perm was burnt and when i went elsewhere for the burnt ends to be cut off, the hairdresser applied some of this onto my hair and flying fringe. I then bought a tube off him. After one year im still using it for my fringe as a light gel and treatment to soothe it after being straightened often. It makes my hair soft and i like the smell. Its like designer hair treatment/gel. People in reviews have said its sticky but it isnt for me at all. When applying onto my hair it often dries and no sticky residue whatsoever. Only little is needed and as i only use it mainly on my fringe the whole tube lasts months. Only down side is the metal tube. gets distorted easily with dents and if u try to even out the shape, it compresses inside, so when u open it, it comes pouring out without needing to squeeze. As it last so ong for me, I will definitely go out to buy this again instead of using oily serum for flyaways

Foundations -Yves Saint Laurent - Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation
Miffymiffy 4/10/2007 3:36:00 PM
I recently decided to treat myself for my birthday dinner and had this foundation applied on me chosen by a ysl lady. I had shade no.5. She knew I didn't want to look caked but i still ending up rushing to my dinner looking the most masked cake of the restaurant. I bought the foundation at the time and used it for almost two weeks and stopped using it. I don't know if it's the wrong colour for me or what but it just does not look natural on me. After every application i have to use a cotton pad or tissue to rub at my face to try get some natural looking colour back. I've heard it's also meant to make your skin look and feel like a baby's skin but this certainly has left me unimpressed after paying £28. And I thought it would be a good idea to have somebody pro to choose my shade

Liquid -Bourjois - 10hr Sleep Effect
Miffymiffy 4/10/2007 3:26:00 PM
I have used so many foundations over the years and never fully finished a bottle (or used one bottle more than four times) as the colours never really suited me well enough to seem natural on me. Always mask looking, caked and obvious. I have combination skin, T-zone gets oily half way through the day. I often have spot scars and though this has light coverage it makes my scars look more faded and my face does not appear as dull. I've always aimed to try foundations in hope that it would look natural and almost as though i don't have anything on. This is the best foundation i have come across. I hope they don't discontinue this. It's scary since a lot of their older foundations have all stopped. I keep thinking I need to go out and buy two or three spare bottles. I apply this with my Ruby and Millie brush, squirting a tiny blob of foundation onto the back of my hand. It takes a couple of days to get used to pressing the dispenser lightly and letting go quickly. I like the way they use this bottle as then no bateria gets in and no worries of it leaking if it was ever to be in my bag.
