Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
Miffny 9/30/2012 7:35:00 AM
I was so looking forward to using this mascara .I have long lashes already & usually use Revlon or Diorshow but thought I'd give this one a whirl. Totally HATED 'The Falsies' my lashes did not appear any longer than with either of the old mascaras I used & OMG my eyes were burning in 2 hours I had to remove it which was difficult as it was rock hard & I lost a few lashes. I truly despise this mascara :( & wish I could get my $19.99 back!!!

Conditioner -John Frieda - Full Repair Full Body Conditioner
Miffny 11/22/2011 8:43:00 AM
After all the hype I couldn't resist to give this a whirl on my bleached dry hair, it added instant softness no weighing down but I near slipped over in the shower as it has so much dimethicone in it any hair would be masked to feel good.So it's ok for a quick fix as most of the dimethicones will come out next was I guess isn't all bad but at $16.00 a tube I'll stay with Redken.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Pure White
Miffny 11/1/2011 8:46:00 AM
I actually messaged Rimmel on face book about this for the waterline they said it was soft & I would love it as I usually buy Stila's Kajal but it's become insanely expensive unless I can grab a pencil on eBay, anyway to my disappointment the pencil is pretty hard & I simply could not get a line that coloured as I was not about to hurt my inner eye. What upset me the most was the below average customer service from Rimmel Australia as I had bought 3 pencils & none ok for waterline they not only deleted my comment saying it was 'hard' but did not offer a refund or anything . Will never buy again as it was a 110% let down.

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
Miffny 11/1/2011 6:51:00 AM
Thank you Revlon for Mascara that blows Diorshow out the water !.I love this mascara as I have frail but long lashes this mascara is beautiful & VERY build-able , one coat for naturally long lashes up to 3 coats for lashes Bambi would be jealous of .I find my lashes curl & lengthen enough to hit the lenses of my sunglasses! No flakes no smudges even with very moist eye cream nothing falls where it shouldn't It washes off easily with a cotton pad dipped in warm water.I have to add my lashes have definitely grow a little thicker & longer also they no longer snap off I guess that explains the growth factor. I am on my 2nd tube & it is rather expensive $22.00 AUD but it lasts for ages stays a good consistency no drying up as most big brush -big tube mascaras do .This will clump badly if not applied properly I find wiggling the wand from root to tip does the job . This one is a winner all around well worth the $$.I adore 001 Blackest Black. Footnote-I noticed a few have trouble with clumping there are 2 solutions 1-wipe the wand & remove excess mascara or use a eyelash comb (this is what I do), really this is fantastic mascara .

Hair -Manic Panic - Virgin Snow Toner
Miffny 8/26/2011 11:15:00 AM
This is treated my hair well keeping it soft taking into account the condition of my dry tinted/bleached hair but is expensive at $22.00 AUD a small tub it toned the white blonde foils but did nothing at all on the pale yellow level 10 tint hair. Very disappointing . OK a new review I bleached some of my hair almost white seems it works on 'bleached' hair rather than tinted .

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Casting Creme Gloss
Miffny 7/12/2011 10:47:00 AM
I have heavily foil bleached hair with tinted level 10 roots .I'm naturally dark blonde & I throw a lot of orange/gold and purchased Glossy Blondes in Light Pearl Blonde 1021 to get rid of the orange tones in my hair it was on sale in Kmart for $10.00 so I had nothing much to lose except the yellow gold tinge. This was my first time using L'Oreal Glossy Blondes Casting Creme Gloss as I thought it's a semi can't hurt my fine already tortured hair....well first off it is NOT a semi it has 25volume peroxide so be careful with it, it lightened my re-growth by a good full 2 shades & even though my hair was terribly dry it was the most beautiful pearl blonde very cool totally banished any brassiness. Next time I am going to use it on damp hair as I didn't the first time as I somehow missed that info in the instructions . All in all the colour is beautiful I will be purchasing again as I called the L'Oreal advisory as 1 box is too much for roots & was advised I can use 1/2 the tube to a little over 1/2 the peroxide mix for touch ups.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
Miffny 11/10/2010 10:50:00 PM
I bought the Chamomile after reading so many raves on it as well as youtube clips.......well I am so grateful I did a patch test at the back of my dark blonde hair !, after 40 minutes I checked & it had turned the patch of fresh regrowth an awful burnt orange, I will now have to cover up thank goodness it's only a small patch, it also stung my scalp I will add. I have to say I think the 30 vol just makes my hair throw more orange as I usually use level 10 with 20vol (a Wella Koleston professional tint) & all is well. Basically I just wanted a change as I am sick of the upkeep cost of foils to blend greys/white but at the back I am still dark blonde. I suggest to anyone wanting to try this that it may NOT give you the best blonde ever that some luckier people manage to achieve . For a box colour it was a bit exy too $15.00

Sunscreen -Paula's Choice - Essential Non-Greasy Sunscreen spf 15
Miffny 1/17/2010 11:25:00 PM
I stopped using Paula's choice SPF15 for normal/oily skin a few years ago as my skin had become so dry I needed so much more moisture from my sunscreen, the past few yaers have been a bit of a challenge as if I found one either it was smelling great but making my skin greasy or felt good smelt vile & caused outbreaks so I took up the offer of members 15% off until the end of January& re-bought the essential non greasy SPF 15. I am so glad I did no bothers of oily breakthroughs, no pimples, no irritation,no more thick gluey or too light no moisture this gives my skin just the right amount of moisture of use as a base for mineral make-up plus the protection I need in fact it's the first time in years I have not been burnt so that in itself says something.I would love if Paula's choice would include a small refillable tube or something I can carry in my handbag as the tube is massive but than again that's value for money. I am giving this five stars as it is fantastic for my skin even though my skin is mature & on the dry side this is still perfect for me.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Foundation
Miffny 1/17/2010 8:37:00 AM
I have been loyally using Bare Minerals for two years but due to skin misbehaving dry-oily-combo and pigmentation Bare Minerals was simply not covering well .I thought I'd give the Revlon Colorstay in medium a whirl as it's half the price I had nothing to lose.Pleasantly surprised the coverage is fantastic not cakey at all no irritation on my sensitive skin (so far fingers crossed) I also cannot understand all the negative comments I think this one is good value for money the only complaint I have is I wish Revlon would have a higher SPF -10 is not good enough so I still have to use a SPF15 underneath .

Treatments -Redken - Redken Extreme Rescue Force Fortifying Treatment
Miffny 10/20/2009 9:25:00 AM
I cannot speak highly enough of Redken's 'Extreme' range this in particular is amazing it delivers what it promises Stronger Hair..the protein strengthens hair brilliantly stopping further breakage .Rescue Force Fortifying Treatment is not designed to make hair 'feel soft' but to strengthen .I can't live without this.I find it works best if hair is wrapped in plastic for 40 minutes to distribute the heat of the scalp all through or even pop a dryer on the plastic for a few minutes..than a beanie hat on top of the plastic for added heat .

Moisturizers -Skin Biology - Lacsal cream
Miffny 8/26/2009 10:15:00 AM
This is also a HG for my over 40++++previously sunbed damaged skin , I started out using SkinBiology's Exfol &CP serum 5 years ago ,Exfol always irritated my skin but Lacsal is truly gentle on my super sensitive skin .I apply it AM alone with a SPF30 & PM under super cp serum I find it keeps my skin moisturised and dewy it also doesn't interfere with my prescription retrieve 0.5% cream I use 3 times a week it actually helps keep the flakies away. I will not be without this gem.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - BareMinerals foundation #2.3 Medium Beige
Miffny 4/25/2009 10:46:00 AM
I have been using BE now for 6 months as I a Woman in my late 40's I was sick of liquids settling in fine lines or worse irritating my sensitive skin. I tried some in a salon & was not impressed at first as the beauty therapist literally stacked the kabuki brush full so it appeared thick ,I asked to have my face cleansed so I could apply some myself, I am so glad I did as I used tiny amounts to build up a nice coverage even under my eyes it did not settle in any fine lines.I did have to use more on where I have pigmentation. I use a mixture of Medium Beige (2N) and Light as Medium Beige alone can appear slightly pink on my already pinkish skin, so I may have to tweak the mix soon with something with more yellow/gold undertones. I can never go back to a liquid foundation again I had tried a few Mineral Make-ups and to be honest none can compare with Bare Escentuals even though it is awfully pricey here in Australia $80.00 for 9grams it is a luxury I cannot go without, my skin looks so even naturally glowy and not at all made up.

Conditioner -Dove - Intense damage therapy - with serum
Miffny 4/6/2009 9:57:00 AM
My hair is fairly heavily bleach highlighted /root tinted &chemically treated dry, tangles easily and damaged, and more often than not quite brittle, usually I have to use a massive amount of conditioner followed by a leave-in serum I am so loving this conditioner it leaves my hair soft knot free no frizzes and very silky smooth. My only complaint is that it the consistency is quite runny so I am half way through the 300ml bottle of conditioner .So far so good this is my best supermarket find this year .I will update if anything changes .

Shampoo -Dove - Intense damage therapy-with serum
Miffny 4/6/2009 9:48:00 AM
This shampoo has quite a strong scent similar to hairspray...that in itself put me off a little until I tried it on my heavily bleach highlighted hair. This is by far one of the most moisturising shampoo's I have used in a long time especially for a supermarket brand!. I was thrilled my hair is quite a bit softer and less tangly .I really think this is just as good as a salon professional shampoo I would compare it to Redkens Extreme.Fantastic stuff.
