Scrubs -Cottage Shoppe - Sea Salt Scrub in Lavender
rated 3 of 5

Let me start off by saying that this was a free gift with my order (the full 10 oz. size!) and I am not usually a fan of lavendar to begin with. However, the scent of this scrub smelled more like soap than lavendar to me. It turns out that one of the ingredients in the scrub is actually soap, but it is at the end of the ingredient list, so one would think that the smell wouldn't be so noticeable. Anyway, I am not crazy about the fact that the scrub contains soap, as it is drying to the skin, but the rich oils that it also contains balance it out. I love that the scrub is very fine and not at all rough or overly abrasive. I will most likely try Cottage Shoppe sea salt scrubs in a scent that is more my speed, as they are a great quality product.

Skincare - Body -Cottage Shoppe - Lemon Sugar Body Butter
rated 4 of 5

I also had a problem with receiving an unscented body butter, and after calling customer service, she immediately sent me a replacement with a nice definite and delicious lemon scent. Fabulous customer service, great scent and very moisturizing -- I will order this again.

Lotions/ Creams -Simplyscents - Lemon Poundcake Lotion
rated 5 of 5

This lotion is wonderful! It softens my skin without leaving me feeling greasy, and it smells outrageous. It really captures the scent of a lemon poundcake, but adds a little coconut kick to it. So far, this is my favorite SS lotion. Highly recommend.

Lotions/ Creams -Simplyscents - Sex On The Beach
rated 2 of 5

This lotion was very moisturizing, and left my skin feeling nice and soft. However, the scent was not my speed -- much too sweet. It smells somewhat like baby lotion combined with very sweet candy. I don't care for it, but will definitely be using these lotions in other scents.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Big Fat Powder Brush
rated 4 of 5
Mickie176 3/17/2002 5:30:00 AM

I'm not sure if it's simply because of the name of the brush, but I was expecting it to be larger. This brush is about 1/2" shorter and 1/2" wider than the MAC #160 brush, that I had been using to apply loose powder. However, the Big Fat Powder brush is also also every bit as soft as the MAC brush, and costs a fraction of the price! It's a very nice quality brush, with cute packaging and a shorter handle for $18.

What a great brush! Very soft, and user-friendly. The brush handle is smaller than I imagined it to be, and I really like it! I feel like I have better control when I use the flat-topped brush to apply bronzer or blush. Great quality brush at a reasonable price.

Lipstick -Unlisted Brand - Goldberry Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
Mickie176 3/11/2002 11:27:00 PM

This is a great shade. It's just as beautiful as the Goldberry lipshine, but somehow appears more elegant without the glossy appearance. I found this l/s to be a bit drying, even over my balm, but for such a unique and gorgeous color, it's worth it. The packaging is cute too -- a pretty silver mini-tube that holds the standard amount of lipstick. Another great product by WTF?.

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Lip Shine
rated 5 of 5
Mickie176 3/11/2002 11:18:00 PM

I have this in Golberry Shine, and the shade is just amazing! It looks gorgeous alone, over goldberry lipstick, or over any other complementary l/s shade, for that matter. My WTF? gloss is quickly becoming a favorite. I love the brush and the consistency is just perfect -- not sticky or tacky and it seems to just flow right onto my lips. I'll definitely be picking these up in some other shades.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - White She

I received a sample of this at Sephora, and I love it! It's so light and fresh, and as the other reviewer said, very sophisticated. I swore that D&G Light Blue was going to be my new signature fragrance, but now I'm not sure. This scent is very appealing as well. Decisions! :)

Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Hot Salt Scrub
rated 4 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 8:50:00 PM

I bought this product, because I wanted a scrub that wasn't heavy and oily. It took some getting used to the idea of dry-scrubbing, but now it's no bother. The scrub is a bit too abrasive for my sensitive skin, so I use discretion when deciding exactly how much scrubbing I need to do. The product smells strongly of eucalyptus (which I typically don't like), but when combined with the other ingredients, it doesn't seem to bother me and smells kind of clean and fresh.. almost medicinal, actually. The most important thing to point out is that after using this scrub, my skin is unbelievably soft and smooth. I will repurchase.

Primer/ Corrector -LORAC - Oil-Free Neutralizer
rated 5 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 8:35:00 PM

This is a wonderful product for toning down the significant amount of ruddiness in my skin. It looks like a pale yellow in the bottle, but goes on very natural-looking. It takes very little product to subdue the red, yet it does such a great job that I only have to dust on some Studiofix powder/foundation and I'm set!

Lip Treatments -Avon - Moisture Therapy - Moisturizing Lip Treatment (tube)
rated 5 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 5:44:00 PM

I received this full-sized sample in a GWP and WOW! What a great discovery!! I've used many different lip balms/treatments, and most do an adequate but similar job as far as moisturizing goes. This product is extremely emollient and actually does a MUCH BETTER job! I've been using it for about four days now, and I truly see a difference in my lips. They feel softer, more supple and not the least bit dry. I am thrilled! At first glance, I presumed that the lip treatment would feel waxy, but it really doesn't. It glides on and feels very lightweight on my lips. I prefer something less slippery that doesn't make color look sheer for under l/s, but as a treatment and/or lip balm, this is my new staple. There is no scent, color or taste, and it has SPF 15! Besides all of this, it sells for $1.49!!!! You can't go wrong by picking up one of these.

Bath Treatments -Avon - Milk Made avec Rose Bath Oil
rated 5 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 5:10:00 PM

This bath oil is wonderful! It is pleasantly scented, and leaves my skin feeling soft and almost satiny. The product gently foams when poured under running water, but there is a tendency to use too much. My one complaint is about the packaging. Upon removing the screw-on cap, the top of the bottle is open and unregulated. Regardless, this is a very nice inexpensive bath oil, and I will definitely repurchase.

Skincare - Body -Avon - Milk Made avec Rose Stuff
rated 5 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 5:00:00 PM

I have this in the bath oil, and the hand/body lotion. Initially, I was hesitant to order from this collection, as I do not like strong flowery scents, but I am very pleased! The scent is that of milk products, fresh and clean, with a touch of rose/floral. It's not overpowering at all and is actually kind of soothing.

Lotions/ Creams -Natural Esscents - Toasted Marshmallow Body Cream
rated 4 of 5
Mickie176 3/10/2002 4:19:00 PM

I absolutely love the texture of this cream! It's not greasy, has some real body to it, and yet, absorbs into my skin very quickly. My skin feels incredibly soft after using it, and even has a pretty subtle sheen to it. Very nice! The only drawback to this cream is that the scent is very sweet and kind of cakey. Upon first whiff, my first thought was "Yummmm!". However, after applying it and living with it for a couple of hours... I think it's a bit too sweet for me. Also, while the glass jar packaging is very nice, I hate getting cream under my nails and would love it if these creams came in a tube. Overall, I love the texture of the cream, and can't wait to try it in other scents. If you like sweet, then this is the perfect wintertime scent/cream for you.
