Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Panasonic Heated Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5

I bought mine on Fry's site for only $15 and it works great so far! Panasonic is a trusted brand so I know I'm not getting ripped off for something that'll stop working after few tries. I love that it heats up fairly quickly and it works on my stick-straight Asian lashes with or without mascara. I like that it doesn't feel too hot either. Totally safe and effective! I'm happy with my purchase. I'll update if it ever gives me issues w/performance but I don't suspect that'll happen anytime soon.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Deluxe Travel Eyelash Curler
rated 4 of 5

This used to be my go-to lash curler before I discovered the miracle that is the Shu Uemura. If you have small monolids like me and want a cheaper drugstore brand, this is it! It comes in a white plastic folding travel version. Because of the way you hold the curler, it doesn't pinch or tug which is a huge deal-breaker for me with others I've tried. PROS: - Only $10 @ Target - No pinching - No tugging - Perfect curvature for my monolids - Folding handle is great for keeping in purse - Sky high lashes - Easy to curl lashes CONS: - Doesn't come w/a refill pad - Cheap quality of rubber pad...only bad thing is that it doesn't last long. After about a month or two of using everyday, the rubber will get all cut up from the plastic edge.

Absolutely AMAZING! The BEST out of my 3 fav curlers: 1. Shu Uemura - AMAZING (see below for Pros/Cons) 2. Tarte (w/purple handles) - great quality, curls great, lasts forever, cute packaging, affordable $15 @ Sephora as a duo gift w/mini Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara which is also a keeper. 3. Sonia Kashuk (white plastic folding curler) - This was my go-to before I tried the Tarte then finally the Shu. It's only $10 @ Target and works great for my small eyes w/out pinching/pulling. SHU UEMURA CURLER REVIEW: PROS - Is simply the BEST at achieving that perfect curl that lasts forever and not that gross L-shape curl that the cheaper curlers can give - PERFECT size, shape, curvature, length of handle for Asian eyes - Does NOT pinch and pull like the Shiseido did to me...I know a lot of people compare this to the Shiseido but althought the Shiseido version was nicer metal, the shape did not work well for my eyes...ouch! - High quality rubber lasts forever CONS: - No longer carry in US...I had to order online but w/free shipping it arrived in less than 3 days! - $20 a little on the spendy side but honestly, I'd rather spend this much and use it forever than buy a $10 one at a drug store and have to replace it every few weeks (this was the only downside of the Sonia K one...it works great but the rubber is so low end that it'll break apart fast) I LOVE this curler. I'll never buy anything else!

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - TonyMoly - Double Needs Mascara
rated 2 of 5

I got this as a gift from a cousin visiting from South Korea...good thing I didn't buy it myself! PROS: - Really lengthens...even without fibers - Easy to remove - Doesn't smudge - No flaking - Lashes stay fairly soft - Black color, dark - Nice brush size, good for smaller eyes and corners CONS: - DOES NOT HOLD A CURL! It's extremely rare that my HG Shiseido mascara base doesn't help hold a curl and with this mascara, my lashes just drooped instantly :( - Can't really layer...major droopage - Formula is waaay to wet - Long drying time - Can be super clumpy - Not waterproof Not worth purchasing for me, if it doesn't hold a curl...it's useless to me.

Not the best, not the worst. PROS: - Cute packaging - Nice gel formula:not too wet, not too dry - Buildable formula - Affordable - Waterproof - No smudging - No flaking - Nice sized brush - Soft lashes - Decent at holding a curl - Natural look CONS: - Flexi-wand might be bothersome for some but I actually found it easier to apply light coats - Doesn't lengthen - Doesn't volumize as advertised If you're looking for the VAVOOM look, this isn't for you. I did like the formula but the look is waaay to natural for my liking.

TOTAL GIMMICK PROS: -Smells citris-y and fresh -Affordable compared to other "dark spot treatments" -Not harsh on skin -Spreads easily -Not oily -Nice design to disperse product CONS: -DOES NOT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS - there was absolutely NO change in my dark spots -MAKE ME BREAK OUT - around my mouth and sides of my face...I don't have acne-prone skin so I have no idea what made it do such a thing! -Waste of money - not exactly cheap either -Can be a little drying/not very moisturizing -No SPF protection -Not a whole lot of product in the tube -TOTAL GIMMICK I'll just spend the extra bucks to buy something that does what it claims

Moisturizers -Boots - expert shine control lotion
rated 4 of 5
MiaMore84 6/9/2012 3:39:00 AM

It actually worked on my combo skin w/oily t-zone PROS: Affordable Easy to find (@ Target) No harsh scent - smells very fresh and pleasant Not harsh Spreads nicely A little goes a long way Good amount of product Didn't make me break out Nice cool feeling on skin Skin feels soft and matte Made my t-zone less oily by end of the day! Doesn't affect my BB cream/foundation...still blends well Great trustable brand name: BOOTS CONS: The pump SUCKS - can disperse too much product by shooting it out and can get stuck at times Can be somewhat drying on your already dry patches I'd totally repurchase anything from Boots!

Pressed Powders -Revlon - PhotoReady Powder
rated 1 of 5
MiaMore84 6/9/2012 3:21:00 AM

I used to LOVE Revlon's Colorstay Pressed Powder in the round case but this PhotoReady line is not the one for me. - Coverage is too light - Doesn't blend well - If you have dry skin/dry patches...it accentuates and flakes - Doesn't cover pores well - Skin looks blotchy by end of the day - Staying power isn't very good - Expensive for quality - Crappy brush...does more harm that good - Small mirror, worthless - Low quality packaging Will NOT be repurchasing

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
rated 4 of 5
MiaMore84 6/9/2012 2:56:00 AM

A definite drug-store winner!!! It's something I'm always going to have and repurchase. A staple in my makeup remover army. PROS: Affordable Easy to find/ always in stock Works great! Oil-free formula is what I need for my lash extensions Not harsh No strong smell Good amount of product in the bottle No icky residue CONS: This isn't REALLY a con b/c it's virtually IMPOSSIBLE to remove a lot of WP Japanese mascaras (especially my Majolica Majorca - truly bulletproof this one is) but yeah, it doesn't remove them ...by itself that is. The trick is to add a little bit of OLIVE OIL to the cotton swab along with the Neutrogena Oil-Free remover and you let your lashes soak for a min and it'll come off...eventually haha. Will I repurchase? YES!!!!

Honestly not too shabby for a $1 mascara! I bought this on a whim b/c I have this obsession with mascaras and I have to put one in my basket every time I'm at a Target (sigh). PROS: CHEAP! Formula is not too wet/not too dry Cute/sleek packaging No flakes Brush is perfect size for my small eyes Better at volumizing than lengthening Easy to remove CONS: Not waterproof Does NOT hold a curl Not really defining or lengthening Clumpy Too much product on the brush
