Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula

Olive Medium is the only mineral makeup I have found that matches my euro-asian mutt skin! Love the finnish- more of a natural glow that isn't too shiney for my oily skin. The packaging is great, especially for travel. I have a problem with getting mineral makeup to last on my oily skin- altho this is by far the longest wearing one i've tried, I still wish I didn't have to touch up after 6-8 hours of wear... but for the value, perfect color match, & finish, I'm willing to reapply!

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Latisse Lash Growth Drops
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 1/16/2012 9:14:00 AM

I've been using Lumagen (Latisse repackaged & sold as a glacoma rx) for over a year now. My lashes aren't darker, but they're noticably longer & a little fuller. I had a stranger so and ask me what mascara I used- that's NEVER happened to me before! My mom thought I was wearing false lashes! Now because they haven't darkens much, I still have to wear mascara in order to really see them... However, prior to using Latisse my lashes were so short & sparse that 99% of mascaras (even waterproof ones) would smudge & give me racoon eyes within a couple of hours, not to mention the fact that they were still unoticable... Now, I can brush on a couple of coats of whatever mascara I want & it won't smear. I think Lumagen is $60 a bottle- a steal compared to Latisse which truely is the same exact product from the same manufacturer. But I dont have a prescription so I pick it up for cheap when I'm overseas... I've paid as much as $45 in Mexico & as little a $14 in Vietnam. One bottle will last me 2 months. It does not come with the applicators since Lumagen is intended to be used as an eye drop. I just picked up an E.L.F. eyeliner brush for $2 at Target to apply it and make sure to clean the brush with antibacterial handsoap regularly.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Magic Lash Mascara Enhancer
rated 5 of 5

OMG! Best $15 I've ever spent! I use this in conjuction with Imju's Fiberwig mascara and it is AMAZING! I have super puny lashes- they're sparse & short. This stuff gives me lots of volume and intensifies the lengthening abilities of the Fiberwig dramaticly. I followed the directions of a previous reviewer- after curling my lashes and applying one coat of mascara, I tapped the Magic Lash wand over a tissue and used a clean, dry mascara wand to put it on. A little goes a long way but it's impact is HUGE! With the Fiberwig alone it takes many coats (at least three) to get the length I want and does nothing for my volume. I get the extreme length I like with tons of volume with just two coats of mascara when I use Magic Lash... Love, love, love this product!

Mascara -Dejavu (Imju) - Fiberwig Lash Knockout
rated 4 of 5
MiaMoore 8/2/2009 6:53:00 PM

Closest thing to a HG mascara so far! Now, I have have short, sparse lashes and I can smudge off waterproof mascaras easily. I've found that "tubing" mascaras work best for me as far as wear is concerned, and so far, this has been the best for staying put! Does not budge until I take it off, yet comes off easily with warm water. There were a few teeny, tiny flakes under my eyes at the end of the day, but not bad at all. This stuff does nothing for volume so if you want thicker looking lashes, it ain't gonna deliver. However, it more than DOUBLED the length of my lashes! I'm not exaggerating, the last time I had lashes this long was when I had lash extensions! It also curls really well too, which I wasn't expecting at all. Lost a lippie for the amount of effort I need to put into getting that incredible length... I have to "muscle" on this mascara. It took a few tries before I found a technique that works well for me. I apply several coats, wiggling the brush aggressively back and forth to really transfer those fibers onto my lashes. Then I apply several more coats sweeping the mascara from base of my lashes to their ends. The end result is well worth the effort, but it does take a solid 5 minutes for me to put on my mascara to get that lash extension effect. Bottom line: although it's pricey ($22 at Sephora) and a PITA to apply, the impressive length and extreme wear it gives my stubby little lashes is worth it... Will purchase again!

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - more big curls
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 7/15/2009 12:51:00 PM

I'm a hairstylist & makeup artist and this set of hot rollers is a must in my kit! If you want killer, sex kitten volume, this set will give it to you! It does take a while to heat up- I plug it in about 15 minutes before I plan on using it to make sure the rollers are nice and hot. I take sections as long and as wide as each roller so on most people I can get all 12 rollers on them. If you have really thick or long hair, you will need to take smaller sections so that the heat can penetrate- in those cases, I do run out of curlers but it's no big deal since it's usually just the nape... I can easily use a large barrel curling iron to finish off those sections. I make sure to spray each section with a heat setting spray like Redken Hot Sets as I go to hold the volume. I let the rollers cool completely (about 15 minutes), unroll, hairspray, and cool for another 5 minutes. Then I backcomb the curls on the top and sides, and run my fingers through the lengths to break up the curls and give a tousled look. The result is fabulous, full, and sexy. Since the rollers are so big (1.5" if I'm not mistaken) you get more of a voluminous wave- if you want a tight curl or ringlet, this isn't the product for you. But if you want wavy fullness- this is perfect!

Bronzers -New York Color - Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 7/15/2009 12:24:00 PM

Great bronzer for under $5! I'm very impressed with this product! I have a medium skin tone with yellow undertones and the bronzer looks very natural- no hint of orange! I sweep the bronzer onto my forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks with a big, fluffy brush and it gives me a perfect sun-kissed glow. I then apply a little blush on the apples of my cheeks to give a "pop" of color, and use the gold to highlight my cheek bones- the gold is awesome because it gives a very subtle highlight on my skin. Impressive, inexpensive bronzer duo!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
rated 1 of 5
MiaMoore 7/13/2009 9:02:00 PM

Should be renamed The Colossal Disappointment... Okay, I'm special, I know this... I've made some of the best waterproof mascaras smudge, but this stuff gave me straight up raccoon eyes after only TWO HOURS of wear! To make matters worse by the end of my day the mascara was completely GONE! If you're looking for volume, meh... I've definitely used better volumizing mascaras.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Colorist Collection Brunettes Coco Bean
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 7/13/2009 8:46:00 PM

Love, love, LOVE this product! If you need a color depositing conditioner, this is awesome! It has pigments in it that control unwanted gold and orange tones. Since it's main purpose is to deposit color you may want to use a color preserving conditioner afterwards depending on how dry your hair is... my hair is sometimes dry, sometimes normal, so I only "double condition" when I think I need it- however, it will detangle and add light moisture. After I apply it I let it sit for a few minutes before I rinse. I alternate this (and the matching color depositing shampoo) with another s&c. It really helps my color look fresh and keeps me from having to color so often! I gave a friend/client of mine the Marigold s&c for redheads as a gift- I color her hair a vivid copper auburn color and she typically fades to a dull auburn. She has had FANTASTIC results with it! Really kept her color coppery and dramatic!

Love, love, LOVE this product! If you need a color depositing shampoo, this is awesome! It has pigments in it that control unwanted gold and orange tones. Since it's main purpose is to deposit color you'll want to cleanse the hair with a color safe shampoo before you use it. After you lather, let it sit for a few minutes before you rinse. I use this (and the Coco Bean conditioner) every other shampoo. It really keeps my color looking fresh and helps me go longer between colors. I gave a friend/client of mine the Marigold s&c for redheads as a gift- I color her hair a vivid copper auburn color and she typically fades to a dull auburn. She has had FANTASTIC results with it! Moisturizers -Equate - beauty lotion
rated 4 of 5
MiaMoore 5/18/2009 6:39:00 PM

I was on a tight budget and reluctantly picked up the Equate Complete Beauty Lotion SPF15 Sensitive Skin- this product was a big, pleasant surprise! Oil-free & light weight, this lotion absorbs quickly, hydrates, and protects without breaking out my oily, sensitive skin. Great product if you're looking for an inexpensive daytime moisturizer!

Treatments -Neutrogena - On the Spot Acne Treatment Vanishing Formula
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 5/18/2009 6:24:00 PM

I use this as part of a modified Acne.org regimen... I apply a very thin layer of it where I tend to break out (chin & jawline) on clean skin, let it dry completely, then layer on an oil free moisturizer. My skin is oily but still sensitive so when I first started doing this, I used it once a day, every other day because it did dry my skin out- to the point where I was peeling and seeing some skin darkening. Now I use it twice a day everyday and it really works well for preventing breakouts without any dryness or discoloration. For the occasional zit that springs up, I find a 2% salicylic acid spot treatment on top of my moisturizer more effective, but for prevention this product is great!

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 5/17/2009 10:52:00 PM

I Lurves... It smooths, adds shine, softens, controls frizz, and smells incredible! I use it two ways, as a treatment on days I shampoo, applying it on towel dried hair mid shaft through ends. I layer it on top of Pureology's Essiential Repair Split End Correcting Treatment, then use my styling products and blow dry. It does not weigh my medium-fine textured hair down at all. I also use it as a heat protectant before I fat iron. A little goes a long, long way. The only disadvantages are the glass bottle it comes packaged in and the fact that the wonderful smell does not stay with me through the day.

Hair -Pureology - Essential Repair Split End Correcting Treatment
rated 4 of 5
MiaMoore 5/5/2009 9:54:00 AM

Does a great job making existing split ends look less noticable and feel better while preventing new ones from forming. Smells incredible! Light and tropical with a little hint of coconut. I apply 2 pumps to my straight, med-fine textured, dense hair after every shampoo (3-4x a week)... doesn't seem like a whole lot in the palm of my hand but it spreads well and I only work it onto my ends- the 3.4 oz bottle should last a while. The thing I don't like about the packaging is the opaque bottle... I can't see how much is in there! Let's face it, nothing will beat a haircut to get rid of any split ends, but if you want to wait a little longer between cuts, protect the ends that are healthy, and add moisture, a little bit of protein, & some heat protection, you'll love this!

Styling Products -Brocato - Cloud 9 Blowout Miracle Repair Blow Dry Serum
rated 4 of 5
MiaMoore 3/25/2009 2:50:00 AM

Impressive results! I was a little worried about the texture, it seems watery compared to other blow dry serums/lotions I used and I was afraid it wouldn't give me enough slip while stlying... boy was I wrong! I use about a nickle sized amount through my damp hair and my brush glides effortlessly through it! I have medium- fine, straight, shoulder length hair and this product keeps it smooth & minimizes fly aways without sacrificing volume. Sometimes I like to create lazy waves with a small barrel round brush when I blow dry and this holds my style without weight or stiffness. The scent is mild and pleasant- light, green, and fades quickly.

Conditioner -Aquage - Sea Extend Silkening Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
MiaMoore 3/16/2009 1:23:00 PM

This conditioner left my hair soft and very, shiney, and smooth! Although it's formulated for coarse and/or curly hair types, it did not weigh down my medium-fine textured, straight hair. Love the scent, very clean. If you're looking for a color safe/color extending conditioner that is moisturizing, this is difinately worth checking out!
