Lip Liners -DuWop - Reverse Lipliner

Didn't do anything for me, but my lipsticks and glosses don't feather (so why did I buy this???). Comes with a nice pencil sharpener. Very expensive for a product that doesn't do anything!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

Slightly above average foundation. Good range of colours to find a match but this formula is slightly darker than their other foundations. For a matte foundation it should wear better, on me this starts to look a bit weary at the 6hour mark with primer. Can be a bit chalky. This is meant to be a full coverage foundation, and covers any blemishes well. I haven't worn this much, but I haven't noticed any breakouts from it. There are better foundations out there.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Automatic Liquid Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
Merryn 12/8/2006 6:14:00 AM

I bought this on the recommendation of the reviews as the easiest to apply liquid eyeliner. This is extremely easy to use. The formula is a inky black that doesn't smudge. I would agree with others that it is difficult to know how much you're using due to the way the pen works and I would imagine I am going through it quickly. The pen applicator makes it easy to apply product where you want and draw lines smoothly. Its not quite HG, but its not far off.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Grapefruit Lip Glaze
rated 4 of 5
Merryn 12/8/2006 6:08:00 AM

I got this as a freebie and although I think its very cute I wouldn't buy it again because of the colour. The grapefruit colour is very sheer and just adds a hint of a glossy pink to lips. The scent is lovely, but might not be for everyone. The formula is non-sticky and wears quite well. I like this in my collection, but I wouldn't buy this again once its gone. Would give it 3.5 lippies if I could.

Treatments -MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel
rated 5 of 5
Merryn 12/8/2006 6:03:00 AM

This is a great product that actually refines skin tone, decreases break-outs, and makes pores appear smaller. This product takes a little bit of patience, but I have been using it for about 6 months or so now and my skin is the best that its ever been (but not quite perfect). My skin is much better when I use this every night but even used 2-3 times a week is enough to keep my skin clear. For new users I would suggest using this every night for a month and then decrease use if it's getting too expensive. As others have suggested you can cut the pads in half. I should also note that I rarely use step 2 of the peel, but I probably should. If anyone is tossing up between getting this product or the dermalogica product, I would strongly recommend this product. Its not cheap ($AU 200 for 2 months at Mecca or $AU125 at strawberrynet), but it won't leave you disappointed

Treatments -Dermalogica - Daily Resurfacer
rated 2 of 5

I previously was using MD skincare's alpha beta peel prior to trying this (and have since returned). I tried this product on the basis on MUA reviews thinking that this might be the thing that would make my skin perfect. While using this product though I had more break-outs than before, even though I was using it everyday. My skin tone also became less even than when using the alpha beta peels. The packaging is very cute, and convienient for travelling, but I'm sure its partly why this product is so expensive (approx $AU60-70 on strawberrynet). I found the little pads on the sachets a little bit harsh on my skin. Overall, I'm sure this isn't a bad product but it didn't work for me.

Skincare - Face -Payot - Pate Grise Purifiante

I have occasional break-outs and bought this in the hope that it would help them disappear faster. Even with repeated applications I never noticed an effect. However it didn't make anything worse. A word of warning though; this product stinks, and it stains. Nice little jar though.

Loose Powders -Kryolan - Translucent Powder
rated 5 of 5
Merryn 12/8/2006 5:45:00 AM

This is a lovely finely-milled powder, that takes any excess shine off make-up with out making you look dull. Packaging is unimpressive, but this is a great product at a great price and lasts for ages. Ingredients: Talc, dimethylimadazolidione rice starch, benzoyl benzoate, benzyl salicylate, coumarin, limpoene, linalool, parfum +/- others

Mascara -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - Semi-permanent lash tint
rated 1 of 5
Merryn 12/8/2006 5:39:00 AM

I am severly disappointed in this product. It claims to last up to 72hours, but left me a smudgy mess within 4 or so. This mascara is a gel like formula and you only need to apply a little. It looks fantastic for the first hour or so as the small brush allows you to reach all the lashes. However then it smudges like nothing on earth, even when only powder eye-shadows are used. I have tried leaving this on for more than a day, and I believe some of it was still there but my eyelashes were completely flat. The MA who helped me with this also said that you should be extremely careful about curling your lashes when this product is applied as the dry formula makes them more likely to snap. The bright pink tube is quite cute, but a little garish. Cost was about $AU40. Basically this mascara is a gimmick, that fails to deliver.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cleo Duo
rated 5 of 5
Merryn 12/2/2006 3:42:00 AM

I love this duo. It can be worn lightly during the day, and can be applied with a heavier hand at night. Looks stunning on my hazel eyes. I found all nars shadows to have excellent staying power, and this one is no exception. The only problem is this is quite expensive in Australia, but if it runs out I will repurchase.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Volume Boost Lipstick
rated 2 of 5
Merryn 12/2/2006 3:38:00 AM

Like everyone else it seems, I have this colour in Hello! The finish of the lipstick is a lovely sheen. Its a nice colour but I don't like this lipstick. I find it quite drying, and despite the tingling sensation immediately after applying there was no noticable increase in the plumpness of my lips. So i'm giving it two lipsticks as it fails to deliver on its promises

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Sculpt
rated 5 of 5
Merryn 12/2/2006 3:30:00 AM

I bought this by accident at the airport. I wandered around singapore airport after having my makeup "confiscated" and tried a few foundations on my hand and this one looked the palest. Generally even the lightest shade is too dark for me. I have this in 010. I tried it on after I got home and it is quite possibly a holy grail. It is a thick liquid, almost a creme that blends easily and has a very smooth texture. Its coverage is medium to full. I generally set this with a very small amount of powder and it lasts all day and into the night. The finish is very natural, best described as satin. I can't speak about any of the sculpting and lifting properties of this foundation as I'm only 21, but it has not caused any break-outs. It is moisturising and leaves skin soft. Packaging is a fantastic pump that looks lovely. Since buying this I haven't had any desire to search for a better foundation as for now anyway this is the perfect one for me. Edited to add: Have been wearing this for 3 weeks now with no-breakouts! Easily lasts 14+ hours when set with powder

Lip Treatments -Fusion Beauty - LipFusion Lip Plumping Gloss
rated 3 of 5
Merryn 6/14/2006 6:24:00 AM

I have this in bare. Nice YLBB color. I only noticed the slightest lip plumping effect, but this is a nice moisturising gloss, and is well packaged. Also has a tasty scent. I'm giving this a 3 because its a nice gloss, but doesn't really plump

Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach
rated 4 of 5
Merryn 6/14/2006 6:19:00 AM

Wonderful blush. Excellent staying power. Beautiful colour. I use this instead of Nars Orgasm when i want the same colour but without the sparkle. Gives you a flushed, pretty, but natural colour. Sturdy compact, clear lid allows you to view colour. Best for PPP/LLL skin tones.

Cleansers -Aesop - Amazing Face Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Merryn 6/14/2006 6:07:00 AM

Very strong smell, which is not for everyone. Cleansed well, and i had noticible fewer breakouts. However despite the fact i have moderately oily skin, this cleanser dried out my skin leaving it a flakey mess. Only use if you have very oily skin.
