Hmm, not many people use this mask. I bought this mask because I was looking for a clay/mud mask and this is the only one available in the departmental store. This mask contains bentonite clay in it, so beware, it will sting your face. I only use it on my nose and forehead and as a spot treatment, I try to avoid putting it all over my face as it will burn my sensitive skin really bad. Afterall, this is a fairly good mask with kaolin and bentonite clay as the main ingredients, cheap and leaves skin smooth and matte.
Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
Memoriesin 3/28/2013 6:36:00 AM
Just bought it and used it, it feels really nice and gentle on the skin, took off my teint miracle foundation + bodyshop compact powder in a few wipes! Left my skin clean and did not redden it at all! I like the fact that I can use it as a cleansing wipe for my face on days when I don't wear any makeup and I will always complete the steps by washing my face with a cleanser (just a habit). Beware of fake dupes of Bioderma, always buy the official authentic version and becareful when you purchase online. Will update if it causes any changes with my skin
Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser
Memoriesin 1/11/2013 8:41:00 PM
This is absolutely the best foaming cream cleanser that I've tried so far. For those who have not tried foaming creams, they are the types that you can find from Neutrogena's deep foaming cleanser, and loreal's white perfect foaming cleanser. They will always make your skin feel very tight after wash and the skin was left a film of squeaky cleanness. People who are new to this will attribute it to dryness but i think it is not this way. This Toleraine cleanser does a wonderful job in gently cleansing skin, it foams up really well, a tiny bit goes a long way and the best thing is that it does not have any fragrance. I uses this as a second cleansing step after using a oil cleanser to remove my makeup. This cleanser left my skin soft and clean. It also leaves the skin feeling tight but not overwhelming, if you don't like it, the tightness will dissapear after you apply toner so it's ok. It also calms redness on my face. My face will normally become red after washing with cleansers but this made my skin remain in a normal skin color which is pretty amazing. I did not develop any acne after using this, showing that it does do a good job removing excess makeup residue from the face. Will definitely repurchase Regarding to misslu990's break out attributing to the cleanser, the break out is not caused by the cleanser but because that the skin is too reliant on the benzoyl peroxide face wash by acne.org. Once your skin gets used to the BP, it will be very hard to quit it and your skin will freak out once you stop using the BP face wash.
To start off, I have extremely acne prone sensitive super oily skin. I've decided to buy this cleansing oil because I've always suffered from cosmetic acne, and I hope to minimize it. Upon reading some good and bad reviews, I decided to buy it today and tried it out. I think it cleanses away the make up pretty well and I hope I don't break out from it. I followed with a foaming cleanser after using the DHC cleansing oil to double cleanse, and I must say it let my skin clean. When I wipe and gently exfoliate my skin with a toner, there were alot of dead skins and little sebums coming out. I must say this cleansing oil had somehow gotten rid of those impurities from my congested pores. From the official DHC chinese website, there was this QnA section where people ask questions on how to use it and the proper way to use it. **DHC says that you are supposed to apply the oil with dry hands onto dry skin, massage it for 20-30 second, NOT MORE THAN 30 SECONDS. This is because if you massage it onto your skin for too long, it will cause stress on the skin and maybe break out. After the massage, you are supposed to rinse it off with warm or normal water until the water runs clear with no more milky residue. After that, you must use a facial cleanser of your choice and cleanse your face the second time. DHC says that the cleansing oil only removes make up and you must follow up with a facial cleanser to cleanse your face to remove excess impurities. I hope this help you guys in understanding how to use this product, and hopefully using it this way will help you discover the amazing results on this product. I am currently using it with the given steps above and will update if there are any changes on my skin.
OMG, I broke out all over my face after using this, it gave me little sore red bumps all over and it won't go down. It ripped some hair off my face too, will not recommend this cheap product!
I wish I could love this but it made me break out after a day of use. This is actually a really good powder foundation as it doesn't cake up and you can apply it to get a medium - full coverage. It also controls my oil really well, stays matte for 4-6 hours. However, the only thing is that it contains corn starch in it which i was not aware of at 1st, and it made me break out. People who are sensitive towards cosmetic cornstarch or rice powder etc, please stay away from this product, but overall, if you have normal skin, this is a must have product!
I love this cleanser. been using this for a long time now, I always use this to remove my makeup. comparing this to makeup removing wipes , I still prefer this cleanser as it cleanses very well and does not leave any residue behind, it is also much more gentle than makeup removing wipes as you do not need to apply much friction on your skin. I recommend you to cleanse your face twice with this cleanser when you are wearing a heavy makeup. even though I only wear bb creams, I still clean my face twice with it to make sure it gets all of it off. for people who felt that their skin became tight after cleansing, always always use a toner after cleansing your face as a toner can not only remove excess residue left by the cleanser, it also moisturises and balances the skin's ph level so that your skin will not feel tight.
BB Cream -Unlisted Brand - Dr Wu - Acnecur Mattify Blemish Balm Cream
Memoriesin 9/6/2012 10:56:00 AM
I used this bb cream during my worst skin days, I would say that it did not break me out further and I can use a decent amount of this product to cover up my acne while it is healing. The coverage of this bb cream is not as good as the extreme hydrate version, I think this is because of the pigment of the acnecur bb cream which appears to be a little grayish dark. When I put this bb cream on my face, it actually made my acne marks appear more. Controversially, it actually helps my acne to heal better due to the tea tree oil and other natural ingredient extracts. The price isn't cheap for this bb cream, but i think it gets its job done, the bb cream smells like tea tree oil medication for your acne, it smells very assuring for acne prone skin. Since my skin is stable now, I've changed my bb cream to using the extreme hydrate. I will come back to this when there is a need.
BB Cream -Unlisted Brand - Dr Wu - Extreme Hydrate Blemish Balm Cream
Memoriesin 9/6/2012 10:49:00 AM
Provides good coverage even though it states that it is a sheer cover BB cream. The color of the BB cream is more of a NC20-25, it is very fair for my skin that is NC 30-35. I have very oily skin that needs hydration while wearing makeup or my skin will feel dry flaky beneath the thick layer of oil. This bb cream does the job of making my skin soft even at the end of the day as I remove my make up, but it certainly did not prevent my oily skin, my skin is still very oily at the end of the day. The staying ability of the bb cream is very good too, alot better than the acnecur version. So far, I did not experience any major break out from using this product, therefore I will continue in using it as this is the only bb cream that I can use by only applying a small amount with decent coverage. The smell of this bb cream is like the regular sunscreen smell, since the bb cream itself has spf28 PA++, i think that explains the smell. Putting this on felt very assuring in protecting my skin from the sun. Will repurchase if it continues to do a good job.
I've been using this for over half a year. What I would comment about this is it helps in acne, but will not clear them all overnight. Afterall, this is a cheap product, the benzoyl peroxide grind is thick and is therefore harder to penetrate into the skin. It is more like forming a barrier on top of your acne to prevent further infection. If you want to get the best out of this product, I recommend you to exfoliate your skin before applying it onto your spots, this way, the benzoyl peroxide can penetrate better. Comparison : As compared to neutrogena on the spot acne treatment that is 2.5% BP, Oxy 5 is alot stronger but it does almost the same job as the neutrogena BP but slightly lesser. Neutrogena BP gives you that overnight cure effect on your acne but the product possess alot of chemicals which are pore clogging. Therefore you may find that it cures your existing acne but overtime, there will be new acne popping up due to the product. Oxy 5 has lesser chemicals, but is not as effective as the neutrogena's BP due to the BP grind size, but you will find that it is suitable for a long term usage on your acne without causing more breakouts due to clogged pores from unnecessary chemicals. Method: I do not recommend people applying oxy 5 in large quantity all over your face. Apply it as spot treatments only directly on spots and blend it, this is to prevent your skin from losing its natural barrier against bacteria. Using BP in large quantity all over your face will cause your skin to get used to the BP and loses its own natural barrier against bacteria and you will find it very hard to get over the BP next time as your acne will keep hitting back whenever you try to cut down on the BP. Conclusion: good product for daily treatment of acne, not very effective, may leave a white mark on skin, recommend to use it at night before sleep.
Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Organic Cotton Rounds
Memoriesin 9/6/2012 10:17:00 AM
This is great! I just bought this cotton rounds 2 weeks ago, they were having a sale, so i got 2 pack of this with the price of one. I do agree that the price of this cotton pad is expensive but the quality of this cotton pad is very very good. it has 2 sides, 1 for mild exfoliation (This is exactly what i've been finding for), the other is a normal sealed side. The cotton does not come off easily while toning which is another great point. Shape wise, I prefer round cotton pads as you can move it in a circular motion on your face without having that irritating tug (where the side of the pad folds in etc, which always happens to thicker toners). In combination with my toner, it removes all the impurities from my skin, it did a better job than my previous square cotton pads. The packaging is very hygienic, it has this little strings on top of the pack which you can pull to tighten the pack after use to prevent contamination. Simple and elegant. If you like, you can also remove the pads from the package and place them in a box and use the empty package to throw in your used cotton pads. Win win! Therefore, ladies reading this, go get one from body shop and test it out! You won't regret it!
THIS IS OH MY GOODNESS, VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!! I bought this because one of my friend has very very beautiful skin, and she recommended me this product as she uses it to tone her face ( she has sensitive skin, easily reddened). I love this product to death. I was having a very bad break out a few months ago and my skin was just looking horrible. My skin doesn't look like a skin, it was red sore and bumpy, it seems like my top layer of skin is totally gone and I am left with the bottom few layers of it. So I included this thermal spring water into my regime. Let me tel you what I use, I wash with clarisonic + cetaphil/la roche posay effclar deep foaming cleanser. Then, I tone my skin (kinda exfoliate while toning) with Proactiv revitalizing toner. Then I spray the thermal water onto a cotton pad and circulate on my skin after the toning. This is the important step, this has made my skin calm down and return to its natural skin tone, it also keep my breakouts away! The reason why I tone twice is because my skin gets congested and clogged easily, I need to make sure that every bit of dirt/sebum etc get cleared out of my pores before I head for moisturiser. Proactiv toner contains glycolic acid that can gently exfoliate and remove excess dirt off your skin, toning again with thermal water will remove the glycolic acid and those dead skin cells that the glycolic acid loosen up. It is a win win! You can go on without putting on moisturiser if you have oily skin as the thermal water will condition your skin's moisture by its self. I sometimes go without a moisturiser and it feels great! I use sebamed clear face gel as moisturiser and it is good!!
Ok ladies! I finally bought this clarisonic mia for about 2 months ago. I ordered it online and make it ship to singapore and I must say I really love this device! First of all, it is not a miracle tool, it just cleanses your skin. The reason why clean skin is important is because it will help in the absorption of treatments you put on your skin, and also to unclog pores. I had pretty bad skin, I wore make up 13 hours a day (mon-sat) for 4 months, and it has really made my skin congested and clogged up. Before I purchase Mia, I was having very terrible breakouts (I am usually a happy person, but this incident made me really depressed). I couldn't walk out of my house without foundation on, and I use loads and loads of foundation just to cover my acne. Make up was doing more harm than good and I've tried everything I can to clean my skin well but it is just isn't helping, those harsh cleansers made my skin dry patchy and extremely oily at the same time. My skin felt scaly and gross, really. So I ordered Mia online and while i was waiting for its arrival, I was using this cleansing sponge pad + cetaphil to clean/exfoliate my skin. My skin has gotten slightly better through this method. When the clarisonic came, I use it only once a day with cetaphil / la roche posay effclar deep foaming cleanser, I alternate them once in a while as I find that my skin gets used to the same cleanser very easily. For the 1st few days of using it, it wasn't up to my expectation as my skin was not left feeling smooth, it kinda feels a little rough. My face also did not transform suddenly into a clear skinned lady, when I apply toner onto my skin, the cotton pad still comes back quite dirty. So, I figured that I must be using it in a wrong way (scrubbing too hard, not circulating enough). I tried again and improve the method of how I use it, gentle pressure on skin and circulate it once every second, and this method helped! My skin felt soft and cleaned! Spots have most definitely reduced, it has faded my scars quicker than usual too. My skincare regime plays a big part on this, nevertheless, I cannot live without clarisonic, it is like my toothbrush, can't live with just cleaning face with sponge pads anymore.
I have oily, sensitive, acne prone. silicone ingredients such as dimethicone is deadly for my skin, I break out easily with butylene glycol too. basically I break out from alot of ingredients. The reason why I bought this is because I've heard wonderful reviews about this moisturiser. went to search for the ingredients present inside and am amazed that they r 100percent non comedogenic! that is rare. so I gave it a shot, I hope it works well. it feels good on my skin. I will keep you guys updated. UPDATE: as promised, Im here to update about this product. It has not let me down, it is a good moisturiser. I use it under my make up, I like this product!
Moisturizers -Avene - Cleanance Antishine Regulating Lotion

This does nothing to regulate my oil. Felt so dissapointed :c. It made my face oilier than usual, why is this happening to me??
