Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

I am loving MAC Studio Sculpt right now. It leaves my skin feeling dewy and hydrated, and the finish looks lovely. Like many others I wondered at first how to best use and apply this foundation. I've had good results by dispensing a pea-sized amount, dotting it all over my face, and then using a damp sponge to blend it all over my face. I finish off with a bit of loose powder. Lovely!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #210 Precise Eye Liner (Fine Point)

I rotate through my eyeliner brushes. First it was the Sonia Kashuk bent, then the MAC 209, then the MAC 266, and now I've been on a MAC 210 kick. I love the 210 because I can get a thin line and build up to a thicker one. Definitely a staple!!!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #211 Pointed Liner Brush

Picked this up recently. I rotate through my eyeliner brushes. First it was the Sonia Kashuk bent, then the MAC 209, then the MAC 266, and now I've been on a MAC 210 kick. I love the 210 because I can get a thin line and build up to a thicker one. With the MAC 211, I like that the edge is so fine and pointed. One can really start out with a super thin line, or use it to refine the edges of thicker lines. Really like this brush and will reach for it a lot.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 226 Small Tapered Blending Brush - BBR Collection

I had been dreaming about this legendary brush, and when it became available with the MAC Me Over collection, I jumped to get it. So far, I really love it! It's soft (I had seen complaints of them being scratchy), and I can use it in my crease, to put on a wash of color, to add highlight - it's a great addition to my collection!

Eyeliner -Ulta - Extreme Wear Gel Liner in Smoke

I got this as one of my Ulta rewards. I really like it! I was looking for a smokey grey eyeliner/shadow base - that was a bit of a hole in my collection. This does the trick. It works well as a base for smokey eyes, I just swirl my 217 into it and apply it to the lid. It's great!

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing eye makeup remover liquid

I generally really like Almay's makeup remover products. I swear by the Oil-Free liquid and wipes. However, while the Moisturizing variety does do the trick of removing waterproof eyeliners and liquid liners that just scoff at the oil-free -- this product also makes my eyes swell, get red, and burn! I first noticed this a few weeks ago. I don't normally use this product daily because the oil-free removes my normal makeup just fine. But that day I needed extra help removing some eyelashes. Well, the next day I woke up with eyelids so red and swollen that I looked disfigured. Luckily I was working from home that day and didn't have to go out in public. I had to spend much of the day with cool cloths over my eyes. So, yeah, this one is not so good in my book. Wouldn't buy again.

The color is absolutely gorgeous, and can push green or blue eyeshadows into amazing new directions. I'm sorry it's discontinued. When I got mine at the CCO, I was initially very disappointed because it took pliers and about 30 minutes to actually get it open. Then when I did, it was extremely dry, and it applied very .... strangely. I read other reviews (or maybe watched a video) that complained about the strange dry chalky texture. But the color is so great, so I muddled through. I put in a few drops of MAC Mixing Medium, shut it tight (but not too tight) and waited. Application got better. So all in all, I really love this. I'm a sucker for MAC's Paint Pots - I have 10 of them so far.

I'm loving this brush lately! It's essential for getting the perfect gradient for a smokey eye! At first this brush lay rather neglected in my collection, but I've been using it a lot lately.

I had to throw these away. They're totally unnatural-looking! It's like the Lambchop puppet or Miss Piggy. Didn't like how all the lashes were the same length. I'll stick with the 110s.

I really love these! I thought at first that they weren't dramatic enough -- and it's true, they're not super-dramatic. However, they're just natural enough to not make one feel self-conscious like during the day, and dramatic enough to add that extra oomph to your eyes. As others said, people notice your lashes, but not necessarily that they're fake. This will be a staple from now on. I'll get others when I'm on stage or something like that, but for a night out when I have to get made up in the afternoon - I'll go with these!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner Gel Blue Peep [DISCONTINUED]

I found this Fluidline at a CCO last week. I was instantly in love with its bright blue color. I adore this shade! It adds such a fun pop of color to my eyes. I wore it as a liner (along with Blacktrack) today with a brown/bronze-y eye - -Indianwood on lid -Sketch & Brown Down in crease -Blue Peep applied thickly at upper lashline -Blacktrack applied along the upper lashline (over the blue line) in a slightly thinner line and winged (so the blue line peeks above it along the top) -mascara This made the blue function as a dramatic, but highly wearable pop of color in an otherwise neutral eye. Loved it!!!!! Like other Fluidlines, it's also long-wearing. Since it's discontinued, I'm going to pick up another on my next trip to the CCO.

Love this shadow! It's so versatile and wearable, depending upon what you pair it with. Over Indianwood Paint Pot, it looks more brown. Paired with Rubenesque, the purple comes out. Love this shade!!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tone: Grey Quad

Got this at the CCO a few days ago. I tried it out over Painterly & Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Tone Grey on lids, Waft in crease, The Right Smoke with a little Carbon on outer V. Really like it, and unlike other reviewers have said, this shows up on me as a very vibrant look. No problems with lack of pigmentation here! I wouldn't wear this look to work, but it would be a nice going-out option.

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Oil-free eye makeup remover liquid

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews for this product, because I love it. Makeup remover, along with eye shadow primer -- I don't know how I ever survived without these products in my makeup arsenal. (My review refers to the bottle of Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover.) Anyway, I find that it doesn't irritate my contacts, and removes my non-waterproof mascara, Fluidline, and shadows with ease. I also use it to remove highly pigmented lipsticks from my face. I did experience approx. 3 or 4 small bumps on the delicate area around my eye after about 2 weeks of using the product - but soon realized that I wasn't rinsing the remover from my eye area after use. That's essential! Swipe your eye makeup clean, then gently rinse the area with cool-to-slightly warm water. This product is great for fixing small mistakes with liner or shadow. Also, because my eye makeup lasts so long throughout the day - my touch-up routine usually consists of using a bit of the Almay remover on a Q-Tip to remove the slight amount of smudging from my eyeliner. I have bottles of this stuff at work, at home -- I really like it, and will definitely buy again.
