Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation

The one thing that attracted me to this particular foundation was it's SPF free formula - for both personal use and for models to build my makeup portfolio. The ingredients in foundations containing SPF, like titanium dioxide & zinc oxide, stay on the surface of the skin and actually block UV rays from penetrating the skin which gives you the 'white mask' on flash photography. I have to say this foundation looks beautiful on camera and has a very dewy finish. I would not recommend for oily skin as you will need a lot of setting powder to keep it from sliding off your face! (Which looks terrible on flash photography by the way) It is definitely over priced for what it is - there are other foundations around the same price range which are much better and much longer lasting - ie. armani luminous silk or mac face & body which give a similar dewy finish.

Concealers -Kevyn Aucoin - The Sensual Skin Enhancer

After reading all of the amazing reviews on this foundation I was beyond excited when It arrived in the post. I bought it in 08 which is perfect for me as I am an NC35/37 in MAC. It would definitely be too light in the Summer, but it works wonders when mixed with a thinner foundation or BB cream, so you could always mix it with a darker foundation rather than buying a new one. The tub looks TINY for a foundation but you literally need a pea size amount to cover your entire face. I have found that mixing it with Estee Lauder double wear and a tiny amount of MAC Lustre drops (For a goldy shimmer) gives you the most flawless finish. Probably too heavy for the day, but perfect for a night out. (And it looks great under flash photography, no dreaded white mask face!!!)

On its own - pretty terrible. Mixed in to foundation - amazing! After years of experimenting with foundation, I have discovered that using a combination of of Kevyn Aucoin's sensual skin enhancer, Estee Lauder's double wear & the L'oreal BB cream, gives me THEE most flawless skin that stays on all day/night and is great in flash photography. xxx

Really good coverage, very dewy, good for dry skin, requires powder to set. It Blends nicely, I use a stippling brush and people always comment on how flawless my skin looks. I wear NC35 in MAC and 6.5 in Armani, 8 in Summer.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - bare Minerals Foundation #2/#3 & Mineral Veil

I absolutely LOVE the finish Bare Minerals gives. Usually I avoid powder foundations, and happened to try it out by chance because my friend was wearing it and it looked GORGEOUS. It takes some practice, and you need the right brush (Which obviously ups the price) but once you've got the hang of it you'll be amazed. I personally use the original one & so many people have commented that my skin is glowing! Plus, if blended well, it looks like you have next to nothing on your skin. Don't just go putting it on with any old brush though - and definitely build in thinner layers to avoid blotchiness (powder, unlike fluid, is difficult to correct & you may end up having to take it all off and start over again!) When i'm going out I tend to wear Armani Luminous Silk foundation (6.5) and use Bare Minerals (Golden Tan) to set it and give myself more of a matte glow. (I'm an NC35/37 in MAC) x
