Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bella Bamba

I generally don't like blusher, I have acne scaring on my cheeks and I worry that the blusher just brings out the redness in my skin, but I saw this and just fell in love with the colour. I absolutely love it, definitely my HG, it gives a lovely warm tone, I use it across my cheek bones instead of on the apples of my cheeks and it contours my face really well, the brush is so good for applying it in this way. I've had it for over 2 months and I still have loads left, I can't see it running out any time soon. It's so smooth, not cakey or flakey at all, and it doesn't wear off or go patchy. And, of course, the packaging is typical for Benefit - absolutely adorable.

Lip Treatments -Yes To Carrots - lip butter

I have this in the berry flavour and I love it, I use it all the time and it keeps my lips really soft and moisturised. I also like the fact that the flavour isn't too strong, so you can't taste it while you're wearing it, which is one of the things that puts me off Carmex lip balm, and it's all natural, 95% organic and has the cutest packaging. There might be more 'heavy-duty' moisturising lip balms out there but this does exactly what it says it does and it's really cheap.

Shampoo -Pantene - ICE SHINE

I hate this shampoo. One of the worst I've ever bought. After using it collectively with the conditioner my hair was a big, tangly, mess. It felt like I'd left conditioner in it because of the residue left over but washing it a second time did nothing to remove that feeling. My hair felt dirty and was really hard to brush. A one slight positive I suppose could be that because of how tangled it made my hair, it gave it quite a lot of volume and my hair was big all day, however blow drying it was a nightmare so the results were a big, tatty, kinky hairstyle.

Self Tanners -Fake Bake - Self-Tanning Lotion

I've been using this product for about a year now and it does have its pros and cons. Firstly, I love the colour of it, its the closest I've found to a natural looking tan as its brown and not orange. I also find the colour guide great; it scared me the first time I used it due to the fact that its a green, muddy colour! But it makes it really easy to spot any places you've missed and washes off the next day to reveal a nice brown tan. The smell doesn't bother me at all but I can't disagree that it is quite strong, however nobody has ever said that they can smell it on me when I'm out because as you shower the next day it becomes less obvious and I always wear perfume anyway. It never streaks (although the initial colour guide can look streaky) and it blends well into areas like ankles and elbows. It's great value for money if your not looking for a day to day tanner as one bottle last for months and it doesn't go out of date for over a year after purchase. It's cons are firstly the fact that it is essential you apply it with gloves, you will never get it off your hands otherwise! And as I have quite small hands the gloves can make it tricky (but not impossible) to apply as they don't fit tightly enough. Also, even though I have fair skin, one coat is never enough for me. After showering the colour guide off the next day I feel that it fades dramatically and so I either apply another coat or use an instant fake tan on top of it. I only took one lipstick off for these because they are fixable, just inconvenient. If you're going to use it make sure you apply it a couple of days before you plan on going out so that you can get the right tone. Once this is achieved it's easy to keep on top off. I wouldn't recommend it for every day use as it is time consuming to apply but it's great for nights out or parties. Definitely exfoliate first and I'd recommend using Fake Bakes own moisturising range as other moisturises can make the tan look 'soapy' when your applying it. Set a good hour aside to apply it and let it dry, it does stay sticky for a while. And make sure you wear old pajamas the night you use it, the colour guide can get everywhere!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
MeganLouise 10/3/2009 8:37:00 AM
I can't believe how many people dislike this product, I love it! I think defining your eyes is probably the most important part of your daily makeup and this product defines my eyes really well. It makes my eyelashes look really long and I find it so easy to apply; it never clumps, smudges, or flakes off. I also find it holds the curl of my eyelashes all day and really fans them out to give me a wide eyed look. I can see where some people are coming from in terms of its consistency, it is quite thin, however all I need to to is apply a few extra coats for a more dramatic, thicker look. The application can be more time consuming compared to other mascaras due to the need for more coats but I don't think this is enough of a reason to take a lipstick off as it is the consistency that stops this mascara from clumping. I love trying new products but they never compare to Great Lash Mascara. Overall, I think this is a great product for giving extremely long eyelashes and I'd definitely recommend it.
