Eye Shadow -NYX - smokie mountain

This review is more geared toward NYX eye shadows in general, rather than just the Smokey Mountain eyeshadow. I love the color of Smokey Mountain.. It almost looks like a dark army green color- with hints of deep brown, dark green, and shimmer.. I got this eye shadow at Ulta during a NYX Buy 2, Get 1 free sale.. and while I love the color, I hate the fact that every NYX eye shadow I have ever bought seems to fall all over my face! I use UDPP on my eyes before I put on shadow, and I never have a problem with the eyeshadows falling when I use MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Smashbox, etc.. but NYX eyeshadows always sprinkle all over my face! and it gets worse throughout the day.. it continues to fall all day long.. I am not sure why this happens, I guess the quality isn't that great.. but it reminds me how much it's worth it to shell out a few extra dollars for a higher end eyeshadow..

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation

I bought this foundation while on vacation a few months ago because the foundation I was using was too light for my face. I got color matched @ MAC and was recommended by the MA to purchase this foundation.. I thought it looked great on. Nice natural finish, good coverage, staying power, blends easily. I used it for one evening and one morning and a few days later I broke out terribly in cystic acne.. I stopped using this foundation after that with intent to return it but ended up losing the box and bag with the receipt (go figure).. so i kept it and never used it again until I decided to give it a go again. Big mistake. Once again, I woke up with a couple of blemishes and then continued to break out in cystic acne for the following week.. I am pretty bummed because this foundation looks great on my skin, but it just isn't worth the break outs.. if your skin isn't acne prone or sensitive this may work for you, though.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Mega shine - Salsa

I got this gloss at Ulta this past wknd on their Buy 2, Get 1 free sale. This gloss is absolutely beautiful.. it's a baby pink color, but applies somewhat sheer and not opaque. It is not as thick/sticky as MAC glosses.. so it doesn't have the same staying power as MAC glosses, but for the price it is a great buy. After the Buy 2, Get 1 discount was applied I think I paid around $8 for all 3 glosses! Can't beat that :)

Scrubs -Boscia - Smoothing Facial Polish

The first time I used this was when I purchased a Boscia starter kit for my acne. For some reason, none of the products did anything for my acne except aggravate it.. but this polish was one of the products I actually liked. It makes my skin feel very soft and smooth after I use it, and it ISN'T HARSH! A lot of exfoliators are too harsh and end up causing my face to flake even more or feel sensitive to the touch.. The grains in this are not heavy and rough.. I wouldn't consider this a great exfoliator for dry-very dry skin, but more as a maintenance product to use 2-3x a week to help skin stay bright and soft.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Ice Princess

This was the first NYX gloss I ever bought and it is my favorite! It is a sheer, bright pink gloss that gives my natural lip color a pink tint, or pairs nicely with my pink lipsticks. It has a shimmer finish and feels smooth, not sticky. I can always reach for this when I am in a hurry and I know it is guaranteed to look good with almost any look I decide to do for the day.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Cult Fave

I love this lipgloss. It is my pinkest gloss that I own and it looks so pretty with almost every lipstick I own! Sometimes I mix it with peachy tone lipglosses and it looks beautiful! It is a bubble gum pink gloss and I believe it was limited edition.. Not sure what a close match would be in the permanent collection but I will need to look into that because I love this gloss!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Showstopper

I didn't purchase this eyeshadow to use for my brows but that is what it has become! I apply it with the 212 brush and it matches my natural eyebrow color almost perfectly. Sometimes I also out it in the outer corner or crease of my eye when I do a smokey brown look and it looks good. WIll definately continue to purchase

Absolutely beautiful! A chocolate brown color with a hint of shimmer.. Blends beautifully with the eyeshadow color "Bronze" and looks great for a smokey brown eye. I wear this shade regularly.. it compliments my tan skin well :) very pigmented, doesn't look dirty on my skin like some brown eyeshadows. The shimmer makes it beautiful

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bronze Eyeshadow

Such a beautiful eyeshadow! I have tan skin and when I want to do a brown smokey eye (which is almost everyday lol) I always reach for this eyeshadow to use. It has a beautiful shimmer to it, but doesn't fall all over your face when applied. It looks great, blends easily and compliments my skintine.. Will definately continue to purchase.

Polishes -OPI - Big Hair...Big Nails

I love the color of this polish, it is perfect for Summer/Spring. I would describe it as a coral-watermelon shade with a small hint of orange. It looks really great against my tan skin tone and stands out when i wear it. My only complaint is that I had to apply 3 coats in order to get the full color. It is somewhat sheer when first applied, so I had to really layer it on to get a nice opaque coat, so that is why I give it only 4 lippies. For a polish that's $9 I would expect better coverage.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Noir

LOVE this scent!! Every company out there who makes body lotions/shower gels has their version of a vanilla scent.. but BBW's vanilla noir is the best. It is a unique scent of vanilla.. it stands out above any other vanilla scent I have ever smelt. It is also long wearing.. when I use the vanilla noir lotion/body spray I can smell it on myself for hours.. it almost has the potency of a perfume! I never get tired of this scent.. it is ultra feminine, sweet, and warm. Definately a BBW favorite of mine

I used to love this perfume.. but I am no longer crazy about it. It smells very sweet.. reminds me of cotton candy to be exact, and it is long-wearing and will linger throughout the day, but I don't know.. for some reason, the smell kind of bothers me now. I will reach for this perfume once in a blue moon and spritz it on, but is isn't a favorite anymore. I wont be repurchasing it when I run out (who knows how long that will be since I only wear it maybe once a month).

Mascara -MAC - Opulash

I rarely wear mascara anymore because I wear false lashes everyday, but on Sundays when I am hanging out and just running errands i will reach for my mascara and skip the falsies. This mascara is great.. I used to be a fan of Diorshow mascara but switched to Opulash a few months ago. I love that it is long-wearing and really does add length to my lashes.. It makes my eyes look more awake because I have short eyelashes. Also, it doesn't smudge on my oily skin. Lots of other mascaras will begin to smudge underneath by lashline because of my skin type, but this one holds up. Like I said, I don't use mascara but once in a blue moon but when I do, I will always reach for this.

Scrubs -Aveeno - Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

I am not crazy about this scrub. It actually seems to kind of irritate my skin. When I use this, it doesn't just exfoliate the dry patches away, it seems to make them peel even more. It can be a little harsh if you use too much pressure when you use it, so maybe thats why. The only thing I like about it is that the scent is nice.. but I typically don't like fragrances in my cleansers/exfoliators because I am paranoid the fragrance will make me break out. I find that my skin feels soft and has a nice glow when I exfoliate by using a wash rag with my face wash and gently applying pressure in circular motions where needed.

Bronzers -Origins - sunny disposition bronzer

I love this bronzer.. It looks so pretty on my skintone. It has no shimmer in it (which I LOVE) and brings a true flush to my face when applied. The first time I ever tried it was years ago.. I was just walking around the Origins store looking at their blushes and the SA suggested to try this bronzer on the apples of my cheeks. She applied it and I looked in the mirror- WOW! instant sale right there. It gave my face so much warmth and color.. Also, it never reacted poorly with my skin. I have acne prone skin and I never broke out with this.. Its a keeper.
