Lotions/ Creams -Yes To Carrots - C Through the Dry Spell Deliciously Rich Body Butter

LOVE this body butter, got it free through a walgreens rebate and it kept my skin nice and smooth and soft throughout the end of winter and early spring. The texture is very emollient, so if you like a light body lotion, this is not for you. But if you've got dry skin, its awesome. Highy quality ingredients, light smell. (I think it smells like a lighter version of the H20 Milk line) Some may not care for it, but I think it disappates quickly. As a bonus, since I've been pregnant, I've been using this to keep my skin supple, it has no ingredients that are on the "no" list, and lately every body lotion seems to have some vitamin A or Salyclic acid derivitive in it. I recently purchased my second tub, my only regret is that it comes in a tub rather than in a tube of some kind, I hate having to stick my hand in it.

Moisturizers -DHC - Rose Treatment Oil

This is amazing stuff. If you love the olive virgin oil but sometimes need a little extra moisture or brightening give this a shot. A very emoillient (Oily ladies, stay far far away) product with a strong rose scent that fades quickly. I'm not loving the fragrance, but I love how soft my face is with only a drop; and w/in two minutes of application the scent is gone. Seriously non irritating, simple product that delivers great results. I've been using it as a night "cream" and I can't believe how fresh and bright I wake up. Killed some residual acne dryness from a fading blemish, zapped the few flaky patches I get around my nose from blowing during allergy season, and I swear I look brighter and firmer! (still using OVO during the day for now, but I could see myself using the rose oil as the weather gets cooler and dryer) Ingredients are mostly olive oil, squalene, rose essential oil, mulberry extract, vitamin E and aloe. The website has the particulars.

Moisturizers -DHC - Olive Virgin Oil

By far, my favorite HG moisturizer. Over the past three years, I've integrated many organic products into my skins routine, and it has never looked better! So what if its $38 for olive oil... it feels lighter, smells fresher, and works better than kitchen grade (I did a comparison with an expensive organic kind from whole foods) That, and I had my bottle for two years and it never smelled "off". I use this in the summer with a drop of camilla seed oil, and in the winter and at night with a drop of pomegranite oil, on blemishes with tea tree and lavendar...etc. My skin loves it!

Got a free sample of the "skin balance water" at Ulta. It tastes like watered down Dymatap. (not at all tasty) As for skin improvements, I think you'd see the same effects with a bottle of water.

Delivers a truly soft hold with fantastic staying power. (All with the smell of sugary pineapple) Also fantastic (b/c of the brush out option) as a styling spray.

Very tasty. I've had both the bar and the drink, and I prefer the drink. This is one of those organic products that is ridiculously expensive (2.50 for a packet of hot chocolate) but that is worth it when you use it as a treat (compared to a starbucks, its downright thrifty). Contians antioxidants and good fats, has a dark chocolate (no fake milk flavor here) and has the power to kill the PMS chocolate craving. I'll definitely treat myself to one of these again.

Treatments -Ojon - Restorative Hair Treatment

I actually liked this product despite the smell. I have very dry (I color and blow dry and all that "bad" stuff) fine hair. I only use organic products and it makes it difficult to find ones that REALLY saturate for that once a month deep conditioning without weighing my hair down. For my fine hair, I used maybe a M&M sized bit, and just conditioned the ends. 15 minutes later, it rinsed out beautifully and my hair looked great. Yes, it smells like the worst morning-after-bar hair you ever had; but I pinned it back with a clip. I wouldn't repurchase only b/c with the amount I'm using, the one sample packet will probably last a year; and beauty habit has sent me three. (so I've got three years worth). All in all, not a bad product, though not the most pleasant smell.

Conditioner -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Avalon Organics Awapuhi Mango Moisturizing Conditioner

I love this conditioner!!! Works so well on my color treated, fine hair. If you haven't used organic conditioners before, I find with this one (and all others), its best to let it sit b/c it does not have the silicones that cause the "slip" and the automatically "moisturized" feeling. I usually let it go two or three minutes while I wash my face and then rinse with cool water. Fantastic.

Other -Burt's Bees - Lavender Mint Toothpaste
rated 5 of 5
MegFleur 4/26/2005 11:47:00 AM

This is my "at work" toothpaste. I don't have dental and can only really get my teeth professionally cleaned every year (as opposed to every 6mo's) so I'm careful to brush EVERY time I eat. BUT, too much flouride isn't good either, which is why I chose this toothpaste. I like the taste, it zapps the worst garlic and sushi breath and makes my teeth feel very smooth. My dentist also asked me what I was using b/c my gums and teeth looked so healthy. As to those who were surprised about the lavendar....well, it *does* say lavendar on the package, ladies.

Moisturizers -DHC - Seaweed Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
MegFleur 3/31/2005 7:42:00 AM

Tried the sample and woke up to glowing dewy no pore skin. The next day, more of the same. Even my sweetie noticed my "glow". In the spring, I'm using this more as an under-moisturizer treatment, but it will probably be emollient enough for summer on its own. The package is cute, but surprising. You expect it to be small, like the Olive Oil pump, but its quite large, despite the 1oz of product. Price is fair, espicially if you get it during one of DHC's many sales.

Smells like 7th grade. Kind of like you took a bath in a tub full of marshmallow peeps and lipsmackers. VERY sweet.

Powders -Dr. Hauschka - Dr. Hauschka pressed and loose powders

I use the pressed translucent powder and its wonderful. It has a slighly sweet, spicy smell (nutmeg or cardamomish. If you like the Bourjois vanilla-y smell, you will LOVE this) and creates a light powder finish that is never cakey. The translucent color is PERFECT for a PPP girl like me.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Iris Facial Oil
rated 5 of 5
MegFleur 11/3/2004 7:48:00 PM

Awesome product. Has a similar ingredients list to the Almond facial oil (sweet almond oil, camomile essentail oil, natural fragrance) but with the addition of iris essential oil. To me, it smells slightly floral and slightly fruity. A few drops with my night cream or by itself really have brightened up my skin and seem to help with the few freckles I seem to get despite religious SPF 45 use. Wonderful product.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel

I love this. I know its sweet, but on my body it mellows substantially within the first 15 minutes of wear. As the one reviewer below stated, using just one spritz is the key. If you wear too much, it will be overpowering. I usually spritz once behind my knee and then dab my wrists on that spritz. That is PLENTY
