BB Cream -Boscia - BB Cream SPF 27 PA++
MarieNJ 1/10/2013 11:39:00 AM
I ordered this from Sephora based on decent reviews, and it does go on nicely and leaves a lovely finish. I have large pores on my nose and cheeks and this did a nice job of making them less visible. It seemed to stay on well throughout the day and did not make me greasy. Unfortunately it did break me out after a few uses, so I am going to have to send it back.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Discovery Mascara
MarieNJ 2/27/2009 9:42:00 AM
This is my favorite all time mascara and I've tried so many of them. I use the waterproof version and it doesn't budge all day, even through exercise classes. I really like the very small brush. I have long lashes and I always seem to get mascara on my eyelids and below my eyes with bigger brushes. You can't beat the price, either. I stray every once in awhile and try the newest hot thing, but I always come back to this. I hope they never discontinue this one.

Shampoo -Desert Essence - Organics Green Apple & Ginger Thickening & Volumizing Shampoo
MarieNJ 10/10/2008 8:28:00 AM
Bought this at my grocery store on a whim and I LOVE it! I have fine, slightly wavy hair, and this stuff rocks! I get nice fluffy, full hair that lasts all day long. To me it doesn't smell like green apple OR ginger, though. It kinda smells like pipe tobacco, which isn't a bad thing. Will purchase this again.

Powder -Prescriptives - All Skins Mineral Foundation spf 15
MarieNJ 9/4/2008 12:12:00 PM
I have been using this for more than a week, but that is more than enough time to see if it would break me out, and it doesn't. So far so good! I like the way it goes on - nice and silky, not shiny at all. The coverage is good and it's buildable if you need it. The color selection is nice (although the SA tried to steer me toward a deeper color, which I knew would not work) and the one I chose matches me perfectly. I don't look powdery and made up and believe me I have a lot of stuff to cover so I'm not light-handed. My only complaint is that it's pricey compared to other MMU. So long as I don't break out, I will repurchase.

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
MarieNJ 4/17/2008 1:07:00 PM
I have been a mineral makeup user for years, but recently started the quest for a liquid makeup, since the mmu was starting to accentuate my *ahem* aging skin. But I have a terrible problem with silicones and I have combo, breakout prone skin, so this has been a challenge. I stumbled across this in the drugstore and thought what the heck, for $13 let's give it a whirl. Unfortunately there was no way to test colors, so I bought what looked right and got lucky. This stuff is really amazing! It covers nicely, goes on smooth, lasts all day and doesn't break me out! I may need a bit of a darker color as the summer moves along, but so far I'm a very happy camper.

Sunscreen -Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 30
MarieNJ 4/17/2008 1:01:00 PM
I was skeptical of this, but bought it b/c I was at my wits' end in trying to find a sunscreen that didn't break me out. After about a month I have had no breakouts or clogged pores from it, and my brown spots appear to be lightening, so I guess it's doing its job. I take a lippie off b/c it's bit pricey and there isn't much product in the container. But I am sure to repurchase since it works so well.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Revision Teamine

It's a little on the pricey side, but after having used it for about two months, now, the crepiness on my eyelids is completely gone!! I also had a few small wrinkles under my eyes that are also gone. It's so-so on dark circles, but I'm happy for what it has done for me. Would definitely repurchase

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
MarieNJ 5/21/2007 12:58:00 PM
I bought this after testing at Bluemercury, searching for a mineral MU that went on as beautifully and smoothly as Jane Iredale, but didn't break me out. I had gotten tired of BE (mostly the shine) and suspected it clogged my pores. The LM is so finely milled and goes on so smoothly it's a dream! You can build it for better coverage and it looks perfectly natural. I even go over small brown spots with a thin brush and it looks great! And after using for a month, NO breakouts. This is nothing short of a miracle since it's so hard for me to find a foundation that doesn't break me out. My only complaint is that there isn't enough variety in colors, and the lightest one is still just a tad dark for me. But summer is coming, so I should warm up a bit. It's a bit pricey, but I will definitely be buying again.

Mascara -Rimmel - Lycra Lash Extender
MarieNJ 3/6/2007 12:38:00 PM
VERY happy with this so far! It gives me nice, soft and full lashes that hold their curl from my eyelash curler. Also, it hasn't smudged under my eyes like most mascaras do, and it tolerated watery eyes from the cold wind. And you cannot beat the price - $4.99 at Target! At that price it's definitely worth checking out, ladies.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
MarieNJ 2/27/2006 7:36:00 AM
I bought this b/c I needed a little extra moisture this winter, and the SPF was a bonus. I have breakout-prone skin. Well, I put it on this morning, went downstairs to make coffee, and by the time I got back upstairs my face had broken out in these red blotches on my cheeks, which are still present 2 hours later. Hope they go away! Guess I'm allergic to it, so back it goes.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler

The best eyelash curler I've ever used, including the Shu. Very gentle, curls my lashes just perfectly, and you can buy replacement pads. I will always repurchase this.

Conditioner -Aveda - Rosemary Mint Conditioner
MarieNJ 1/19/2006 3:28:00 PM
I have very fine, limp hair that just goes nuts in the winter with static. This conditioner did not weigh my hair down, and the static was no longer an issue. I was not bothered at all by the smell. Unfortunately I started to break out in small pimples where my hair touches my face. When I quit using the conditioner my skin cleared up.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Volume Shocking Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
MarieNJ 1/19/2006 3:22:00 PM
Easily the worst mascara I've ever used. Try as I might, I never got that "false eyelashes" look. I have pretty long lashes to begin with, and this made them look clumpy and spiky. It was pretty messy, too. I even wiped off the excess base and mascara before using, but to no avail. This went in the trash. I'll stick with my Maybelline Lash Discovery.

Powder -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Base
MarieNJ 1/17/2006 1:10:00 PM
I tried this b/c I wanted the convenience of a compact with the coverage of a mineral makeup. I had been using BE and wanted something a little less shiny. I have normal/combo skin that is prone to breakouts. I got some samples ahead of time and found one that matched my skin color perfectly (which I could never really get with BE). I really liked this makeup, the coverage, the ease of application, the way it made my skin look. Unfortunately it broke me out in small, little pimples all over the place. I'm now on the hunt for something else to try w/o the 'cones, as I suspect this is the problem. It comes in a really beautiful, solid little gold case. I bought it on eBay so it wasn't ridiculously expensive.

Moisturizers -Principal Secret - Reclaim SPF 15
MarieNJ 4/6/2004 4:00:00 PM
I got the Reclaim as part of a try-me pack from QVC, and for the first week I *loved* it. My skin was so soft and the texture had improved greatly. Then the little breakouts started. They were little, tiny blister-like spots that crept up. Guess I'll be sending it back to QVC.
