Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Cherry
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 8/13/2008 2:45:00 PM

This is very nice! I usually choose tinted lip balms instead of lipstick since I prefer a natural look, plus my SO hates it when I kiss him and leave glitter/color behind (and I kiss him a lot;) This is one of the nicer ones I've tried, very subtle stain of color, buildable, and very moisturizing. I couldn't taste the flavor much, but that doesn't matter to me.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

You know you get a little happy when someone finds your review helpful? Well I just have to shout out a THANK YOU SO MUCH to the reviewer four down from me who posted the blog site. I have gone through bottle after bottle of this stuff over the years - I have always thought you didn't get much for your money, but the product was so great that it was worth it. Tonight I cut open the bottle for the first time since it appeared to be empty, solely based on the suggestion here - WOW. They are not kidding to say there are 2-3 months worth left of product in that silly bottle - I filled TWO ebay pigment sample jars with the amount left after cutting the bottle in two spots (don't forget to cut the bottom) - I would never go through the hassle if I hadn't read that it was REALLY worth it - believe it, it was REALLY worth it! The 5 minutes and the little elbow grease it took to cut it doubled the amount I can usually retrieve out of a whole bottle. I wish I could get back the countless bottles I have tossed out, not ever considering this. THANKS!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Glycerin
rated 3 of 5
MarieFJ 2/4/2008 6:24:00 PM

Broke me out, even when mixed with water. From my skin care dictionary: A humectant used in moisturizers due to its water binding capabiities that allow it to draw and absorb water from the air. Glycerin helps the skin retain moisture. This ingredient has been studied extensively for its moisturizing abilities. Some of its associated skin benefits are attributed to its ability to facilitate enzymatic reactions in the skin which enhance comeocyte desquamation. Based on the data available, glycerin has definitely been established as a good skin moisturizing agent. Glycerin also improves the spreading qualities of creams and lotions. It is a clear, syrupy liquid made by chemically combining water and fat that is usually derived from vegetable oil. While glycerin has not been shown to cause allergies, in concentrated solutions, it may be comedogenic and irritating to the mucous membranes. Hope this helps.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Patina (Frost)
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 11/28/2007 1:55:00 PM

Truely one of my favorite MAC shadows, and I have a lot. The neutral tan is high lited with a beautiful peachy cast that just glows. I've had this one forever but just recently rediscovered it. I like it with copperplate in the crease and vanilla e/s for highlite for the prettiest natural look I've ever achieved. NC25

Eye Shadow -MAC - Thunder
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 9/3/2007 10:15:00 PM

This was the only thing I bought from the Blue Storm collection. This is one of those rare purples you can wear without looking like you got punched in the eye. The blue / purple duochrome is stunning, very subtle yet flashes just enough to be noticed. The purple has enough gray in it to keep it from looking PURPLE, it is smokier, sexier, and more about making your eyes look beautiful than wearing beautiful eye shadow. Looks great with my green eyes, and with many other colors (I'm liking it with satin taupe and vanilla pigment, particularly).

Palettes -MAC - Novel Twist (Nordstrom Exclusive)Warm Eyes
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 8/17/2007 12:36:00 PM

I think this palette should be getting better reviews, hence my two cents. Vanilla has always been my favorite brow hiliter, and club is an absolutely gorgeous smokey eye shade that I've loved for years. There are so many combinations you can create with this - my favorite so far is vanilla on the brow, club from crease down, then the new blue shade Adlib layered over club on the lid. This does contain 3 permanent shades, but it's an anniversary palette, so I don't think it was meant to introduce new & exciting colors - more just to coordinate a beautiful look with some of MAC's popular shades, at a more reasonable price than puchasing them as singles. I agree that if you have the 3 perm shades that you don't HAVE to buy the palette for the 2 new shades, but it's a nice combination of quality shadows and I'm glad I purchased one. Recommended.

Blush -Prescriptives - Pressed Powder Leaves [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 7/25/2007 2:45:00 PM

This is so blah looking in the pan and absolutely gorgeous on. Never would have looked twice at it without reading the reviews, even though I'm a fan of Prescriptives. I have Royal Radiance, NC25 for reference. I've had it for two months, and I can actually tell when I forget to put this on - I miss the subtle glow. Gives a beautiful effect that you have see for yourself. I even like this better than my favorite MAC barbie beauty powder. Rave!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Eye Shadow in Tectonic
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 7/24/2007 9:04:00 AM

Beautiful olive green / antique gold, my favorite of the mineralized eye shadows from Flashtronic. Rather neutral, but interesting enough to not be boring. Generous product size, great staying power, and less of the gold glitter than the other shadows from this LE collection.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize eyeshadow in Lovestone
rated 2 of 5
MarieFJ 7/23/2007 4:15:00 PM

I didn't buy this. This is the e/s the SA was pushing on me at the MAC counter, even though I told her it wouldn't look good on me. She insisted that she do my eyes and show me that I was wrong. She did. I was right. She packed it on pretty heavy, so maybe it would look better if it was applied sheerly. It didn't look pink on me, or gold... it looked like I had been crying. She noticed too, as she tried to cover it up by layering several other colors over it. That certainly made it look better, but why would I buy it? IMO, if you have cranberry, you don't NEED need this one.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Veluxe Pearl - Cosmic
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 7/23/2007 3:30:00 PM

I never buy back-ups - this one is tempting me. I find it to be up to par with MAC quality (some of the limited edition products don't seem as nice anymore...) this is a beautiful warm gold that makes the gold flecks in my green eyes stand out. Love it with saturnal (also like this one from moonbathe, despite the texture). Goes on like silk and lasts all day - this one will get used.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Eye Shadow - By Jupiter
rated 4 of 5
MarieFJ 7/23/2007 1:42:00 PM

The mineralized eye shadows are beautiful to look at in the pot, and I have found that they are long lasting on my lids. The shadows in general are quite frosty, and this shade turns a pale frosty golden taupe on me (mine does not have much of the darker veining). Looks great with copperized pigment. It's not the most unique once applied, but I find that I never get much use out of my "unique" colors anyway. You get a ton of product for the extra $2 these cost over a regular eyeshadow. I don't think it's better than a regular MAC shadow, and it lasts the same with a primer (UDPP). Out of the three I bought, I like tectonic the best (so pretty on), then by jupiter, then ether (which is just a bit too-cool toned for me, but again, so pretty in the pot :).

Eye Shadow -MAC - C-Shock - Going Bananas
rated 3 of 5
MarieFJ 6/26/2007 10:47:00 AM

Not real impressed with this one. I have about 80 MAC shadows and this one sure seems to be lacking in quality as compared to my other ones. The color makes me look a little sick - I much prefer Rose Blanc from Strange Hybrid, or gorgeous gold. I did find one good use for this shadow which saved it from a lower rating - if I use it as a base wash, it adds brightness and light to the colors I wear over it. It makes Cranberry wearable on me, which is a feat all in its own.

Moisturizers -Mario Badescu - Seaweed Night Cream
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 6/22/2007 10:22:00 AM

Love it - was scared to use it because it was so thick and I thought it would break me out further, but it actually helped clear up my skin. I use it every other night in conjuction with the glycolic foaming cleanser. It only takes a very thin layer, any more will make your face feel greasy - it is a cream, afterall.

Cleansers -Mario Badescu - Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 6/22/2007 10:15:00 AM

This is the product that cleared up my complexion. My face used to be fairly clear, then I started switching make-up and skin care products (in the search for something better, whoops) and was constantly breaking out. I couldn't get my skin back to the condition it used to be in - until I started using this. I have combo skin and this cleanser can be quite drying, so I follow this with the seaweed nightcream which I also think is a wonderful product - they have both helped to balance and restore my skin. Love it.

Highlighters -MAC - Hullaballoo
rated 5 of 5
MarieFJ 4/10/2007 9:12:00 AM

The surface sparkles don't appear on my skin anyway, so I don't mind that it's not through out the entire product. That being said, this is a very nice peach beauty powder with no orange tones at all. I tried it on at the store and didn't purchase it at first, then while shopping with my boyfriend afterwards he told me he thought my skin looked extremely pretty that day. I didn't change anything from my regular routine except trying on this powder. That was enough justification to me to go back and spend the money (despite all the products I have already) :) It gives a nice, natural tone tone to my skin, one of the nicer powders I've used.
