Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Flavor Factory Flavored Lip Shine in Cotton Candy
MarieAngelina 12/1/2008 11:07:00 AM
This review is for the "Lemon Drop" flavor. I absolutely love the smell of this lip gloss! It smells like fresh Lemonade and it's one of those scents that sticks with you as long as you have it on your lips. The overall rating is a 3 because it does nothing else but add a layer of shine to your lips. It doesn't moisturize, it doesn't even stay on that long. The smell and shine is pretty much the only thing going for it. The Price was dirt cheap. I believe I got mine for $1, but with all Sally products like this (The one's that you see on the far wall either by the door or cash register) they go on sale within a month. I think this lip gloss started out at $2, and steadily fell to around 50 cents or so before disappearing. The packaging quality was very poor. I got a tube that had a sharp piece of plastic where the hole had been drilled out of the top bit (where the product is squeezed out to apply on your lips). I had to file it down with a nail file before getting it smooth enough to apply on my lips. But the gloss tube is made out of durable plastic that won't rip on you. I would buy this product again, but unfortunately I think it was a one time thing and is no longer available.
It is true that this stick is dry and hard to blend. For me, it looks bad under my foundation. I hate blending too hard because I have extremely sensitive skin and rubbing my cheeks and face will only make the redness more prominent. I have, however, read all the good comments about this product and have maybe figured out a better way to use this. Firstly, as an eyeshadow base. What a great idea! This is dry enough to be like a cream shadow, and I’m sure if used sparingly, you won’t have too many problems. Secondly, I find that if you mix this with a small amount of moisturizer and apply it to a moisturized face, the blending gets easier.
Mascara -New York Color - Lengthening Mascara - Black
MarieAngelina 10/27/2008 4:59:00 PM
I used to be confused that NYC says they do not test on animals, yet on Peta's website it lists them as a company that does. For those of you who are as confused as I was, this is what I found out: It is still legal BY LAW, and in some states REQUIRED, that a product MUST BE TESTED ON ANIMALS before it can be fit to sell on the consumer market. Do not be fooled by "finished products" in Wal-Mart, ULTA, etc, that states the company does not test on animals. Some companies (like Covergirl) write that they do not test their FINISHED PRODUCT on animals, but they do with the separate components of the product on animals. Become educated and start buying cruelty free products! With that said, the only reason I am using this product is because I want to finish up the tube. After that, I will no longer be purchasing a product belonging to a company that tests on animals. I rated this product a three because I find that it is a good primer for NYC's Waterproof Mascara. The formula of this mascara is very fine and I feel that I must put on more then two coats to even get a good coverage. Instead, I put on one coat of the lengthening mascara, then one coat of the waterproof formula, and my eyelashes look long, full, and smudgefree for the entire day. The price is very inexpensive. Depending on where you purchase, it can be either $2 to $4. The packaging quality gets a 5 only because how else can you package mascara? I would buy this product again if the company did not test on animals, but they do, so I will not be repurchasing.
I really like NYC's Waterproof Mascara. I'm really confused at the reviews this product is getting because I haven't had any of those problems. Then again, I am putting this over NYC's Lengthening Mascara, so maybe using the two together helps them stay on, stay waterproof, and wear longer throughout the day. I bought this product because I find that NYC is actually a pretty good make-up line. I'm a college student, so cheap but good quality products are a must for me when I need to buy loads of art supplies every few weeks. NYC's products are very inexpensive (I mean, come on, a dollar for an eyeliner pencil!) and they work they way the company advertises them. I have never had any trouble with NYC's waterproof mascara. I find that it doesn't flake and it even bulks up my lashes after putting it over the Lengthening Mascara. I don't curl my eyelashes, so I can't account for how well this mascara holds a curl, but I do know that it makes my lashes look fuller. I will definitely repurchase this product because of how inexpensive it is, how easily available it is to find and the good quality of it.
Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - advantage oil-free Acne Moisturizer
MarieAngelina 10/27/2008 4:38:00 PM
I absolutely love this product! Some people say they are having problems with this not clearing up their acne. Well, look at the ingredients. There is only .5 % salicylic acid in this product. Maybe your skin needs something more? My skin is not acne prone, but it does about 5 or 6 small red micro-pimples every few weeks. While I'm so thankful that I do not have problems with acne, I hate these spots. This product really helps eliminate those spots for me. This also really makes my forehead smooth because I do have some bumps there. This moisturizer has a very small percentage of salicylic acid, so I believe over time it works to help your acne. The results are not immediate. It's not like spot treatments which can have 2% or more of S.A.
Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
MarieAngelina 10/22/2008 9:04:00 PM
I really like this product. I am C1 or 2 depending on the year. The coverage isn't exactly what I want though. I usually use all my liquid foundations as primers for my mineral powdered foundation, not alone. Alone, this produce covers fairly lightly. I have very rosy cheeks and I like to be able to cover that easily. I do find that if I put on a green cover stick underneath, this foundation underneath looks pretty cakey overtop. I think you would need to use a liquid concealer underneath in order for it to look ok.
I wrote that I wouldn't purchase this eyeshadow again because A) It's too expensive for my college student budget and B) a friend gave it to me. I believe the two colors that I have, Gaze and Click, are part of a free gift after purchasing X amount of products. Both colors look absolutely NOTHING like the swatches on the website. 'Click' is a nice, deep, earthy brown-purple. 'Gaze' is a satiny, nude, pearly highlight color. Both are very nice and smooth, and they are very easy to blend. I use the neutral Gaze on my eyelid then add some smoke and dimention with Click on my outer corners and crease. I use both with a simple Revlon Cream Eyeshadow as base and they stay put farely well. I heard that with UDPP they look fantastic, so I have to check that out.
First of all, I just want to say that I put that I wouldn't buy this product again only because I'm in the process of purchasing different types of lotion to find my all time HG. This product was nice, and if I hadn't been on a mission to find the best lotion out there for me, then 'Yes', I would have purchased it again. I have KP on my arms and I didn't really see a difference when using this product. I think it's because Suave's Cocoa Butter is not thick enough. It's a light moisturizer good for spring and summer, but if you have dry skin like me, you will either have to buy a new product, or constantly reapply this every few hours. My mom bought me the travel size, which is 3.25 fl oz, so I think that if I had a larger bottle of this lotion and used it over a longer period of time, my opinion on it may change. Unfortunately, I'm not going to repurchase. This lotion blends in with your skin very quickly and is not sticky. The scent is light and very nice. It doesn't stick around but there have been times hours after I've applied it, that I'll smell it on me. I would say to others to use this during the warmer months, and invest in a thicker cream for the colder.
Eye Shadow -Neutrogena - Mineral Sheers for Eyes - Stone
MarieAngelina 10/20/2008 11:33:00 PM
I love this shadow! I wrote a review for it in another thread, so I'm simply going to quote myself. "I own only one- Stone #20, a beautiful earthy, natural purple duo. I absolutely love these mineral sheers! They are so smooth and satiny. And the color payoff is gorgeous. I love the fact that these eyeshadows have a satiny, light-reflecting quality to them, which gives them depth. Some days, I simply put on the darker of the two shadws and leave it at that. Because of the way the shadow is formulated, it creats depth for you where the light isn't hitting directly on your eyelids. I love how simple and pretty the packaging is, and I also like that you can slide off the plastic cover. I do this most days that I'm applying the eyeshadow, and click it back on before putting it away. What I don't necessarily like is that the shadows are pressed directly together, but I've never had a problem with the colors staining each other or mixing. There is only one con to this eyeshadow, and that is that it is very hard. Most days I have to run something sharp lightly over the top of the shadow to make a powder. That's basically how I apply mine. The Price is very good and Yes I would buy another! I definitely have to pick up "Quartz" soon!"

Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Softlotion 24 Hour Moisture
MarieAngelina 10/13/2008 1:18:00 AM
My mom bought me a small 2 fl oz. tube of this to bring with me on the train to school every day. I like it, but it's too light. I put it on and I feel like there isn't anything on me after a few minutes. It spreads and blends in quickly and the smell is light and feminine. I trust Johnson's products, and the only reason I don't like this one is because it's not heavy enough for me. It works perfectly on hands though for a quick fix, but on my skin I need something more. Good product, just not for me.
I've been using this product on my arms and legs for a few weeks now, and I don't really think I see a difference in the tone of my skin, but I'm not really paying that much attention to it. I was given this product by a friend, so I wanted to use it to keep my elbows and knees soft throughout the drying summer. The fact that it was firming didn't really interest me. I'm not that big of a fan of the smell, but you do get used to it over a few weeks. I LOVE that it isn't greasy or oily. My skin sucks it all up within minutes. It works into the skin very easily, unlike some other lotions that you need to really massage it in. This lotion blends right in flawlessly. I liked that it was in a pump bottle, but for some reason mine broke! That's the only reason I rated the "Packaging Quality" a 2. I just used another, smaller bottle instead. Not that big of a deal really.
I'm writing this review for the Palladio Herbal Eye Liner Pencil (Waterproof and Retractable) in BLACK. I do not own the brown pencil. I have been using this eyeliner for about two months, and just recently finished an entire stick. I've never done that before, and I know it's because this pencil is amazing! I love that it's a retractable pencil - I never buy regular pencils in black that I have to sharpen because I never have luck with them. They break on me far too easily and the upkeep of the point is annoying. I use this pencil on my bottom and top waterline, then I set it with any black eyeshadow, and it stays on for HOURS! I've never had a problem with this pencil smudging, although if you do touch your eyes during the day and you have this on your waterline, then you are of course going to smudge it. My overall rating of this project is a 4, not a 5 only because its a little difficult to find. They do not carry this product at my Walmart, Kohl's or Target, but they do have it at Sephora and Ulta, I think. The pencil itself is a 5, but locating it at a decent price may give you a tiny bit of trouble, hence the 4 'Overall Rating'. The 'Price' rating is a 2 because at $3-4 a pencil it's pretty inexpensive! The 'Packaging Quality' is a 4 because I find that the top is hard to close most of the time, you really have to force it down, so I wouldn't close it completely in fear that if my hands had lotion on them or whatnot, I would not be able to pull the top off. If you close it half way (enough to hear that first click) the pencil won't dry out at all! And I def will purchase again! I already did. I bought two - one for home one for school.
This review is for Vaseline Total Moisture Conditioning lotion. I love this lotion! It dries very quick and comes in a 3 oz. tube that you can bring with you anywhere. It was about $1 at Walmart in their travel size section. I even put this on my cheeks when they get really dry during the summer or winter. But I find that it's a bad idea to use this and then try to apply foundation over it. Obviously, this is a product for your body, not your face. But other then that, the lotion dries quickly, it smells AMAZING and it makes my hands feel very soft.
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Diamond lust sheer shadow--all shades

LOVE this product! I just did a review on it for "Lavender Unleashed" in another post. I have two colors, Lavendar Unleashed and Peach My Interest. Peach My Interest is a really beautiful highlighting color. I use it on my eyelids, underneath my eyes, on my cheeks. It's just a really gorgeous color to use anywhere. The packaging is very fragile as some people have noted. I didn't drop either of these eyeshadows yet BOTH are broken. The plastic around the metal hinges hav fallen off, so it's not like I can even repair it a bit to make it work the way it used to. It's such a shame because the packaging is super pretty. But, then again, the packaging has nothing to do with how the actual product works in this instance, so this shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing it! I would definitely buy again! I really want White Hot and Pillow Talk Pink!
