Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Even Finish Foundation Spf 15
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 7/17/2012 7:47:00 PM

UPDATE 09/04/12: Since I've been using this I've gotten tons of compliments on my skin (not my makeup) and I'm still loving this formula. One thing I noticed about it, but still isn't a turn off is that this foundation can feel a little sticky/tacky when first applied. I've found that if you let the foundation dry down on its own, you don't need to use as much powder to set it. It drys down to a nice matte finish on its own and looses that sticky/tacky feeling as its drying down. LOVE THIS STUFF!! Sooo, how on earth could I possibly explain to you guys how excited I was to finally get my hands on this absolutely PERFECT oil free foundation by the immaculate Bobbi Brown!!!!! For those of you that have used her SKIN foundation and have used (the now discontinued) Natural Finish Long Lasting foundation, you will be twice as excited about this one! It comes in a frosted round pump bottle and wears flawlessly for 12 hours with little to NO touch ups. Depending on your skin type & if you use Bobbi's skincare it would be recommended to either use the "Hydrating Gel Cream" or the "Vitamin Enriched Face Base" if you are a truly oily skin gal/guy I would recommend the Gel cream, if you are combo like me then I would recommend the Vitamin Face Base. This is a oil free foundation meant for normal to oily and oily skin types. My skin: Normal to Oily (dry cheeks, slightly to moderately oily tzone) Skin care used: Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base & Hydrating Eye Cream Foundation: "Long Wear Even Finish Foundation spf 15" PRO'S-------------------------------------------------- ~Pump bottle ~Offers medium build-able to full coverage ~Wears for up to 12 hrs ~Flawless Skintone perfect match (Warm Sand 2.5 & Creamy Concealer in shade Sand, Ref. MACNW15-20) ~Doesn't streak or fade ~Does NOT rub off on cell phone screen ~Does not oxides and turn orange (if you are incorrectly matched then it will look orange or darker than it should be) ~Gives a very natural semi-matte look to the skin ~Does not dry out your skin or look cakey & dry ~Does not settle into lines and wrinkles For me this is the oil free foundation to end all oil free foundations!!! I LOVE it and am so happy that it's finally available. CONS: ~NONE (at least not that I've noticed as of yet if I can find any I'll re-update my review as I've only had the foundation for a week)

Crème -Bobbi Brown - EXTRA Repair Foundation
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 10/22/2011 2:40:00 PM

Okay, so I've been using Bobbi for a few years now and believe me when I say I've tried all of her foundations. Some I've liked and others I wish I never would've purchased. But with that being said I LOVE this new foundation. It's meant for Normal to dry skin. But surprise I'm Combo. For the most part I'm normal to oily but during the winter my skin gets drier and I need a more hydrating foundation. You'd think that I would buy a more hydrating face cream and just use that. But no. For me if I use a more hydrating face cream and a hydrating foundation I end up looking like a greasy mess within an hour or two. Sooo since my skin has started to get drier as we approach winter and this is a VERY hydrating foundation I've discovered that as long as I use only my eye cream and Bobbi's intensive skin supplement underneath then I can get away with wearing this wonderful foundation for about 7 hours before it starts to really fade and start separating and look blotchy. Of course I still have to touch up with powder thru my tzone at least twice in 7 hours. But that is usually the norm for me no matter what time of year or what foundation I wear. And I also love the elegant glass jar too. Now enough babble, here are my thoughts on EXTRA Repair Foundation. ~ Pricey $55.00 plus tax ~ Very hydrating (without looking greasy/oily) ~ Skin tone correct shades ~ wears for around 7 hours. ~ Works for normal to dry skin best. But can be used on combo skin with the right skincare underneath. ~ Smell is divine.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Concealer Kit (Reformulated & New packaging 2011)
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 3/19/2011 6:31:00 AM

OMG!! I'm super in love with this new formula & packaging of the Creamy concealer kit. This has been updated for spring 2011 and to my surprise the formula has been improved for the better. The old formula was thicker and when applied it seemed to have too much grab when applying powder and just seemed a tiny bit difficult to blend as well has having that awful loose powder on the bottom. The NEW formula however is simply amazing. The colors are still the same (but of course I was re-matched just to be safe) The concealer is much creamier and you need very little of the product to get the desired results. I mean seriously all you need to do is tap the brush in the product to pick it up on your brush instead of swiping your brush through it. And it applies effortlessly and blends effortlessly. And to add to the high praise, the powder that comes with it is the sheer finish pressed powder and it is so much more convenient than the loose. According to the online description it keeps your eye area hydrated and no longer looks dry & crepey. And I find this to be true. It looks so much smoother and fresher all day. I would totally recommend this to anyone. The only small thing that changed for me was my corrector shade. I used to use "Light Bisque" but either my dark circles got worse or the formula change, but I now use "Light to Medium Bisque" and my concealer shade is still "Cool Sand" and lastly the pressed powder in these kits no matter what shade of concealer is "Pale Yellow". EDIT: 9/24/2011 I'm still loving this concealer and the kit! It's always in my kit and always in my makeup bag when I'm on the go. I was rematched with my corrector and I am again using "Light Bisque" and in the winter Cool Sand is my concealer shade. I had one of my mentor/bff's that works at my counter double check my shade match. And as a side note to everyone who doesn't like it, please try it again, and if you're not sure if you're applying it correctly then don't be ashamed/embarrassed to ask the artist/SA at the counter for help. This stuff really can work its magic once you get the hang of using it.

Powder -Bobbi Brown - Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation SPF 12
rated 2 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 10/20/2010 12:44:00 PM

Soooo it took Ms. B about 5 years to develop this fantastic foundation. Bobbi doesn't like powder foundation's because they are too matte & don't look natural. From what I've heard down the grapevine is that Bobbi had no intention of doing a powder but she had such a huge demand for one from her customers in Asia that she finally decided to make one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This foundation is great for people who have Normal to Oily & Combo to Oily skin. It's finish varies depending on how its applied. Personally I use a dry sponge and get medium coverage. I don't find that it lasts all day, after all it is a powder so if anyone is expecting that then you need to accept and move on. I do have to touch up after about 4 hours, but that is expected since it's a powder. I find that the shade range runs almost 100% close to her liquids. I usually use Cool Beige all year and summer I use Warm Beige. In the powder I could use either one. Depending on my application. If I use the Cool Beige, I find that I need a little bronzer to warm up my complexion as it can almost wash me out and look fake. (Until it adjusts to my body temp and settles then it looks amazing.) And with the Warm Beige, I have to do a sheer to light application to get the look I need using the powder brush. So over all I still use Cool Beige. ----------------------------------------------------- I Love the packaging. It reminds me of Chanel's Double Perfection compact or Merle Norman's compact foundation. It's surprisingly sturdy. When I first saw it I thought that it would be flimsy and cheap. It stays closed very well and doesn't come open if its in your purse. Over all I would repurchase. It's also great for quick out the door moments or when you don't feel like tinted moisturizer. Price Point is $40.00 US dollars. EDIT: 10/26/2010 Okay, so maybe I jumped the gun on this foundation. I think I was just so excited about it that I let that blind me. On the box it states that this can be used on all skin types except very dry. W-R-O-N-G! I called at least 3 counters (with 1 being out of state, just because) and called the Bobbi Brown online artist and they all told me the same thing---If you have ANY dry skin or dry patches basically any type of dryness to STAY AWAY from this foundation. As it will cling to those spots. It also tends to give you an orange peel texture once applied looking close up at the foundation (even after doing a scrub). I tried layering moisturizers and using this one and that one, and no matter how I applied it it would look like crap. So I took it back to my local counter and exchanged it for another foundation, My HG Bobbi's "Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation" or her "Stick Foundation". Which I also have a review of and is my HG to this day. So be warned. If you want to try it out of curiosity get a make-over before you spend the money. The only way I would try this again is if it was to get reformulated.

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Hydrating Gel Cream
rated 2 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 8/31/2010 11:28:00 AM

Well for starters this New Gel cream is geared towards people with normal to oily & combination skin types. Which would be me. And having tried the Hydrating face cream and found it just a touch too hydrating and the vitamin face base too shiny I LOVE this! I apply this right after the intensive skin supplement and it gives just enough moisture without making me look shiny or greasy. It has a nice smell too. All of Bobbi's Hydrating line packaging has changed as well. Its no longer in heavy glass jars but in acrylic type durable plastic. And for the price I know that this will last a good 1.5 to 3 months. It takes very little. EDIT: 4/1/11 Okay, so this was a great moisturizer for about... a minute. I used this for about a week before I decided that it just wasn't for me. I believe that this will work much better for those of you with truly oily skin. For those of us with Normal to Oily skin & Normal to Dry skin, I would recommend the Vitamin Face Base. It has Shea butter and I find it more hydrating. Over all I would only recommend getting a sample & at least try it.

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Overnight Cream
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 8/31/2010 11:06:00 AM

EDIT: 4/1/11 Okay, so after writing my original review of this I went out and purchased 3 jars of this as I absolutely fell in love with this cream. It's super hydrating and smells amazing. I apply this at night after using my cleanser and toner and it absorbs quickly without leaving my face feeling greasy. (unless my skin is feeling unusually dry then I really slather it on) and I wake up to the softest glowing skin. I would recommend this to anyone. And a jar lasts me a little over 3 months. You need very little product. ORIGINAL REVIEW: So I've never used this before, but I must say after using a sample I had made for me at Neiman Marcus, I'm very happy that I decided to try it. Bobbi has updated her Hydrating line and this cream was no exception. Some of the ingredients have changed but on my combination skin I just love it! After I wash my face with the Lathering Tube Soap and apply her Intensive skin supplement I apply this and wake up to nice smooth skin. I'll definitely be buying a full size jar soon! Even tho it is summer, I don't find this to be too much.

Treatments -Bobbi Brown - Brightening Intensive Serum
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 4/19/2010 1:23:00 PM

Having been a fan of Bobbi's intensive skin supplement I was excited to see that she had released a new serum. This serum is very similar to the Skin Supplement in terms of consistency and quick absorption. I love that its a bigger size at 1.7oz./50ml but cringe at the price tag. $95 for the Brightening serum and $65 for the Skin Supplement for 1.0oz. I'll be honest I think the only difference in the two is one has a high concentration of vitamin C while the other does not. They both seem to accomplish the same thing, I just think the new one does it faster. The bottle itself is very pretty, its a pretty bright white, almost like marble. But none the less this serum has improved my skin/complexion considerably. I have combination skin (oily tzone & dry cheeks) and have noticed that what little dryness I had is almost gone. My skin isn't terrible by any means, I've had MUA tell me I have the smoothest skin they've seen. And aside from a little redness in the cheeks I have an over all clear complexion. Over all I would definitely repurchase. This bottle should last a good 4-5 months.

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Hydrating Face Cream
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 2/21/2010 5:40:00 PM

Okay, so having not used this cream for over a year I decided that I needed to give it a try again. I LOVE IT!! I must have had something weird going on with my skin the last time I used this because it stung/burned my cheeks so I stopped using Bobbi's skin care all together and dabbled in this and that...(now her skin care line is all I use) Fast forward almost 2 years and I can't live without this stuff. Being someone with dry/combination skin, I wasn't sure if this was going to be something that would work for me since most SA's sell this to people with dry/dehydrated skin or to people with maturing skin. But I was wrong and couldn't be happier! Its super hydrating and smells fresh and amazing! Doesn't leave your skin greasy or sticky, just cushioned and soft and perfectly prepped for makeup. Will definitely repurchase and recommend this to anyone looking for a great face cream that doesn't mind spending the extra money. Around the holidays Bobbi releases this online and in store at a 3.4oz size for $74. And that's a steal. The regular size is 1.7oz for $50. So you actually save $24-25 dollars buying the bigger size. The glass jar doesn't bother me in the least. I love that it looks super chic and classy while sitting on my vanity, lol. EDIT: 9/25/2011 This has been reformulated since my last review on this absolutely amazing cream. And to my great happiness it has been changed for the better! It's still the same cream only its been tweaked. And it now comes in an acrylic type plastic jar. My skin has remained the same, Combo. Oily tzone dry cheeks. Mostly dry/dehydrated skin from not drinking enough water, but none the less flawless. I would still recommend this to just about anyone who needs a great light but very hydrating face cream. This also works very well under my makeup and doesn't make me look greasy at all. Totally 10 stars.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Natural Finish- Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 1/28/2010 11:36:00 PM

This foundation is another HG from Bobbi for me. It comes packaged in a pretty pump bottle like her Skin Foundation & is also the replacement for her "Oil Free Even Finish" which I hated (it felt too gritty/chalky). This foundation like; her Skin Foundation is Light to Medium build-able coverage and looks flawless once applied. And wears all day (as long as you aren't uber oily). The shade range for this since it is oil free and a different formulation is going to run a half shade lighter, so I would definitely recommend getting matched properly. The price point on this is the same as her other foundations at $45.00 USD before taxes. I love the finish it gives as well, a satin-y finish that doesn't look dead like other matte foundations. Great for normal to oily & combination skin types. EDIT: 5/26/10 I'm still loving this foundation! I only use this and her Stick foundation's now. This lasts all day for me and wears really well. I do set my tzone with powder. Since I have combination skin it does need to be blotted and re-powdered but I've decided to "suck it up and deal" and move on. For me this is life (I'm not super oily, but oily enough for it to be really annoying). BUT it doesn't separate on my tzone like other foundations tend to do, so for me this is a huge plus. Again it does tend to run at least a half shade to one shade lighter than her normal foundations. But this wasn't an issue for me. I use Cool Sand 3.25 & in Summer I use Warm Beige 3.5in both formulas of Bobbi foundations SKIN & NFLLF.

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Lathering Tube Soap
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 1/28/2010 11:18:00 PM

After being a HUGE Bobbi Brown fan for a few years now, I finally decided to try her cleanser. I used to use her rich cream cleanser that was discontinued and replaced with her oil cleanser which I also like, but don't love. On to the Tube...I LOVE the packaging. As with all of Bobbi's packages its pretty to look but still very functional. It takes the smallest amount to get the job done, maybe the size of a pencil eraser and it lathers like no tomorrow. All you're left with is a nice clean face thats ready for moisturizer without feeling stripped tight. Unlike some deep cleansing face washes that leave your face so stripped your face will crack if you smile. This is definitely my HG. And price point is very reasonable for a department store. Around $22 US dollars. And with using such a small amount I see this lasting easily 3 months or more. EDIT: 5/31/2010 I LOVE LOVE this cleanser. I am currently on my second tube. The first one from which this review was written lasted 5 1/2 weeks!! So I've stocked piled this and have 8 tubes in my bathroom under the sink, and another that I'm currently using and about half way through. I'd highly recommend getting a sample of this if you're able.

Treatments (Eye) -Bobbi Brown - EXTRA Eye Repair Cream
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 12/30/2009 1:20:00 PM

I was sooo excited when I heard about this new eye cream from a SA at my BB counter back in October 2009. So after it came out I bought a jar and I'm LOVING the results. It gives super rich moisture and my makeup glides on and looks flawless all day. It is definitely thicker than the original hydrating eye cream but I think it offers more in terms of over all effective-ness. (i. e what it claims to do) I will be buying again and this will also be replacing my hydrating eye cream as my HG. It comes in Bobbi's signature glass jars which is fine with me.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy lotion in Orange Ginger
rated 2 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 11/15/2009 4:24:00 PM

I first purchased the hand lotion in this scent and liked it so much that I turned right around and bought the lotion and body wash. This lotion is very light but surprisingly enough it moisturizes very well. I've always been a fan of anything citrusy or orange scented/flavored. I love that it comes in a pretty glass bottle that I can leave on the counter in the bathroom instead of having to toss it under the sink when I'm done. I'll definately repurchase. Layering the bodywash and the lotion really help this scent to last all day. EDIT: Used this for a couple weeks and ended up taking it back. It just didn't mesh well with my body chemistry..oh well

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - EXTREME Party Mascara
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 11/8/2009 1:44:00 PM

O M G! This is such a fantastic mascara, It does exactly what it promises and the color is perfect. I LOVE the chrome tube, its super chic and the formula is amazing as well. This beats "everything mascara" any day! It gives great volume and you can add numerous layers through out the day and it doesn't clump or flake and it applies evenly without being stiff and crunchy. Will definitely buy again. Update 12/24/09: I'm still loving this mascara, It really stands up to its name and it looks great all day and removal is easy enough w/ her long wearing eye makeup remover.

Moisturizers -Korres - Honey Thyme Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 11/5/2009 5:02:00 PM

This review is for the Korres "Thyme Honey Moisturizing Cream" 24 hour moisturizer for Normal & Dry skins. I've only had this cream for 24 hours and I applied it this morning and my face has been super silky and smooth all day. I also find that this cream works very well under make up without making it look greasy. I have dry/combination skin & for me this isn't too heavy. (I use Bobbi Brown makeup, my foundation is her foundation stick or skin foundation and both look flawless once applied) I love the smell of this moisturizer too. Its too early to tell if this is going to cause any reaction. I don't have sensitive skin at all so that shouldn't be a issue. I'll use this jar and if I love it, I'll purchase the rest of Korres skincare. For now I'm going to use this as a night time cream or under makeup (I dont wear MU every day)

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Youth Dew- Bath Oil
rated 5 of 5
MaleficentFoxx 10/25/2009 6:46:00 PM

This is the original "Youth Dew" formula that the legendary Estee Lauder herself created in 1953. (the parfum spray was introduced at a later date) Its a LOT stronger than the spray but smells oh soo sexy and opulent. You only need a couple drops on your wrists and you're good to go. This works very well with my body chemistry and isnt overpowering.
