Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
Makeupjunkie456 10/2/2010 9:48:00 AM
undecided about this. Used it twice a day for about 4 weeks and did notice that i wasnt losing as many lashes, but the increase in lentgh was minimal as was the fullness. I was hoping for more. I then switched to using it every other day for a couple of weeks just to help keep the lash loss to a minimal. Just brought Revlon Grow Luscious mascara, so will stop using the ardell whilst I try this. will review that one in a few weeks.

Mascara -Urban Decay - Big Fatty Mascara - Waterproof
Makeupjunkie456 10/2/2010 9:35:00 AM
I've tried a lot of mascaras over the years as my lashes are short, sparse and very straight. I usually go for the waterproof version as i wear contact lenses and it helps hold some curl!! I love this mascara, i waited so long to try it because of the price, glad I eventually bit the bullett. The black is lovely and instense and i know some hate the brush but i love big fluffy brushes!! yes there is a chemical smell when you first take the wand out of the tube but 99% of waterproof mascaras have this. it doesnt affect your eyes when your using it. For me this has great staying power and doesnt flake, I have even worn it to the gym (and i really sweat there!!) and it stays put. It is easily removed with an oil based eye make up remover, I use either the Garnier 2 in 1 Waterproof Make Up Dissolver or L’Oreal Absolute Eye and Lip Make-up Remover. will keep buying this one as works for me!!!

Makeup Brushes -GOSH - Brush
Makeupjunkie456 7/17/2010 12:35:00 PM
brought this recently as i was using my jemma kidd duo brush to death, i really like duo brushes for applying my foundation and wanted another one. Its a little bigger than the jemma kidd one, (between the two i feel i have dupes of the mac 188 and 187 now) with longer bristles. Its quite dense and I really like the softness and it works well on giving that airbrushed effect, only downside is it does shed a bit, hopefully over time this will stop. not a bad price (paid £12 at superdrug) so was a bit cheaper than the jemma kidd one and definatly cheaper than the mac. I dont have the mac ones so cant say how it compares to them but as its cheaper im happy with it.

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Mechanical Eyelash Curler
Makeupjunkie456 7/17/2010 9:17:00 AM
UPDATE - I still stand by what i said before, but the rubber doesnt last very long mine split in just a few weeks and i dont use it everyday, so that was disapointing. well what can i say..... "FANTASTIC". I have short very straight lashes, I have tried everything, different curlers including heated ones and many different mascaras, but they dont curl well and they certainly dont hold. Recently I have been using a heated curler then a curler to hold it while it cools then a good waterproof mascara, but this is a hassel and still not giving me what i want. I was about to give in and buy the Shu Umera one (bit pricey for me) but then whilst ordering from elf though i would give this a try. for £1.50 glad i did. have used it a couple of times now and am really pleased, when i curl them they are practicully vertical!! and after 8 hours they are still up, this is a major achievement for me, and i even got these results with a cheapie waterproof mascara. If you are looking for a great curler then give this a go, for the price you have nothing to loose, it has changed my lashes for ever lol:)

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eye Bright
Makeupjunkie456 7/12/2010 9:23:00 AM
Well still not sure about this, wanted it for ages but very concerned about the high price, anyway everyone raves about so now I have it. I expected it to be wowed, but I wasnt. (Maybe because my expectations were so high) Dont get me wrong it is a good product, it's soft and i like the colour, great as a brow highlight and the inner corners. however i dont think its really any better than my other highlights and pencils and at the price is it really worth it? tried it on my waterline but it seemed to irritate me. will continue to use until all gone but wont buy again as not that impressive for the price, my cheap rimmel stick does the same job really.

I absolutley adore it, used to wear it all the time, still would but cant buy it here in the UK (if anyone knows where I can get it let me know!) this perfume works well for day and night, i also feel that it works all year round so a good staple perfume. well worth the moeny as its averaged priced for perfume.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
Makeupjunkie456 4/28/2010 5:02:00 PM
I started using this a couple of years ago. I have acne prone oliy skin but I also have dermititas on my face which can be sore and flaky at times. because of this I couldnt use this everyday let alone twice a day! But i wanted to keep trying so i started using it 2-3 times a week for about 6 months, towards the end I was only really using it about once a week. My skin felt tight after using the face wash and toner, the lotions were okay but not great. I didnt really notice any change with my skin and as this is expensive I decided to stop using it. However I had accumilated several bottles on the monthly plan, so went back to it again and again, in the end i got rid of it as it just didnt really do anything. yes my face felt clean and was oil free but it is very harsh on the skin and often made my skin worse the next day. This didnt really work foe me, also it is a very expensive plan. the main ingredient is Salicylic Acid and if your looking for a product with this, you could try the new L'oreal perfect clean foaming gel wash (this is what its called in the UK its the one with the scrubber) in Purifying as it also contains Salicylic Acid but is a fraction of the cost. i use it about 2-3 times week as part of my routine and it works well for me and saves me a lot of money!!

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Therapeutic Conditioning Balm in Orange Cream
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 5:40:00 PM
mmmn I love orange - so of course i had to buy this! I wasnt disapointed, unlike some other reviews I loved the smell as it smells like sugar oranges to me. I like the size of the tube the slim line look fits easily into my bag or pocket. It goes on easy and is quite moisterising, It doesnt taste of oranges (otherwise I'd be always licking it off!) even though I really like this I only gave it a four as it doesnt stay on very well so you have to reapply it. It also isnt as thick and intense as some other balms. Overall though for the money you can afford to keep using it and I would definalty buy it again.

Blush -E.L.F. - All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 5:29:00 PM
I have had one of these in the pink lemonade colour for a while and really like it, so decided to give this golden peach a go. I really like the colour and the hint of shimmer is perfect for those summer months. You can build up the colour or just have a subtle sweep. All of these cover sticks are fragranced with sugar orange and i know some dont like this, but it doesnt really bother me as i love orange! Its staying power is okay but then most things slide off me. I have also set it with the elf golden bronzer for some extra oomph. Overall agood product thats excellent value for money. I gave it a 4 as the packaging isnt great and it can dry up.

Bronzers -E.L.F. - Studio Golden Bronzer
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 5:17:00 PM
as im fair i often find that bronzers can be a bit overwhelming on me, but this is quite light. This might not work for some but then again it does come in some other shades too. I have used all 4 colours swept across and used some of them individually and like the effect it gave me. I dont tend to wear a lot of bronzer and maybe when I do I dont wear enough but I really like that I can control the colour depth myself with this 4 colour system and its much better than those messy beads! It is quite shimmery though so that is something to be aware of, it does make a great highlight! If you want a good colour stear clear of the light one as it wont be deeper enough.

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Large Brush Holder
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 5:10:00 PM
I actually have the smaller one, but It is exactly the same product, just one compartment instead of 3 and the price is obviuously a 3rd too! I reall like the feel of this as it feels quite expensive it also doesnt slide around on my dressing table as it seems to be non slip. I like the size as you can get a lot of brushes in it however some of my brushes are quite long and this is a little short for me. If it was taller and maybe a bit cheaper i would have given it 5 lippies.

Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 5:03:00 PM
Brought this a week or so ago, Im very happy with it. I use the eyebrow gel everyday and there is no dent in the tube so I feel it will last a long time. It tames and keeps my brows in place and once it dries I dont even feel like its on my face. As for the mascara its okay but doesnt really work for me as my lashes are too light and I really need some colour on them. (if only I was blessed with black lashes!) Also unlike mascara it didnt really help hold my curl, but as an eyebrow gel this gets a thumbs up from me.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 4:48:00 PM
WOW at last a primer that works on me! I can have quite oily lids that my make up just slides off or creases quickly. I have been really pleased with this, I have been trying it for the last week or two, with different eyeshadows and sticks. I have also used it on days when I was going to the gym and it still held my make up on. I really wanted the urban decay one but to be honest, felt it was a bit pricey for my current budget, after seeing other reviews on here decieded I would give this a try. My eyeshadow lasted all day and stayed vibrant even though I tend to have oily lids. After about 8 hours (depending on what eyeshadow) it did need some fixing but for me this is amazing. It is easy to apply and a little goes a long way, when you first dot it on your lids and start to pat it in it feels like it would be wet but it seems to dry to a nice satin feel. Will definatly keep buying this. UPDATE - I now have the UDPP as well (got a sample in a deluxe shadow box) and i have to say the elf one is better!! both have a similar consitencey but the elf seems to last just a teensy bit longer, both are good bases and nearly identical (for me) but at a fraction of the price, my advice is go for the elf one and spend your saving on more make up!!

Polishes -E.L.F. - Nail Polish
Makeupjunkie456 4/12/2010 4:24:00 PM
I recently brought my first elf polish the other day in the colour blush. First the polish its self is very reasonably priced, the packaging is okay pretty much like most polishes. I thought the brush was okay, but not as good as a more premium brand. It does coat well though, I tend to do one down the middle and a sweep along both sides. The colour is quite sheer, but one coat is okay if you want a more sublte effect. I have used it a couple of times now and on both occasions I used 2 coats. Blush is a lovely colour, its sort of a pinky gold tone and I really like it, you could wear it day or night, work or play. (I also put a couple of coats on my toes!) I really like these as at that price they are guilt free. You could buy a new colour every week! This colour (blush) goes on easy and seems to stay put, I have had my current colour on for about three days and have showered, washed my hair and the dishes and its still there not even a chip, so im really impressed, also when I took it off last week, no staining (though blush isnt a dark colour). Would have given it a five but the brush could be better. Worth a try though.

Palettes -E.L.F. - Elements 4-pan Compact
Makeupjunkie456 4/8/2010 6:36:00 PM
Just got this the other day. Absolutly brilliant, I have the magnetic 4 pan from mac and this is just the same, plus it has a mirror and its a fraction of the price. I have popped the inner frame out and use it for all my de potted shadows, so I can take them with me for touch ups. Excellent value for an empty magnetic palette. Wish they did a bigger one aswell!!
