Tinted Moisturizer -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Tinted Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 4/22/2010 6:31:00 AM

I have been using this product for more than a year now, and most recently instead of foundation. I find that it keeps my skin beautifully moisturized and keeps my skin looking like it is glowing. I also find, that unlike some other tinted moisturizers, that it has enough coverage to hide any minor imperfections. It really is a great product and almost never use a traditional foundation any more.

Moisturizers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan oil
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 5/19/2009 6:10:00 AM

I bought this product based on the good reviews that I saw here. I have to say, this is a FABULOUS product. I had a cold when I bought it which was lucky, because if I was able to smell it, I may have never bought it! The oil is not sticky nor watery and doesn't feel heavy on like some other skin oils or oil based balms. It goes on easily and sinks in quickly. My skin is always soft and have not had problems with breakouts that others have described. It works as well in hot weather and also is cold. I also use it on my eyelids and don't even bother with eye cream when I use this. I have used my fair share of expensive skin products and this rivals or is better than high end brands such as La Prarie or SK2 (though they are both excellent in their own right), so when you consider that this is $48, it is a genuine bargain. I can't compare this product to generic brand argan oils simply because I have not tried them. Now, on to the smell. I generally like the smell of "natural" or organic style products. This really is an unusual smell. I have to say that I am now used to it, but I couldn't say that I like the smell. To me, it smells like the saddle on a horse. My husband doesn't get that at all but can't tell me what he thinks it does smell like. I recommend this to everyone with any skin type - you'll get over the smell and your wallet will thank you. Just brilliant, thanks Josie,

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 5/19/2009 5:55:00 AM

This is a fantastic balm. It really moisturises your lips rather than just sitting on top. I like this better than the original for two reasons - it isn't minty and it glides on more easily. I have been a big Burt's Bees fan for years and this just proves how good they are yet again.

Makeup Brushes -NARS - Botan Brush
rated 5 of 5

This brush (like all NARS brushes) is fantastic quality. I used to be quite careful with how I applied my blush, but I don't need to anymore. Now I just apply my blush any which way and then use this brush for finishing and blending and it gives a very professional and even finish. I bought this brush on a bit of a whim, and now I can't imagine doing without it.

Treatments (Eye) -La Prairie - Cellular Radiance Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 9/10/2007 5:25:00 AM

Thanks to the make-up alley ladies, I purchased this eye cream based on the glowing reviews. I cannot stress how fantastic this product is. I have been using this for four weeks now and I could see I significant improvement within two weeks. I am 35 and owing to years of rubbing my eyes (I'm an allegy sufferer), the skin on my eyelids was quite loose or crepe-like. I can happily say that almost every wrinkle on my eye lids has disappeared. The crows feet and dark circles have also reduced dramatically. The best this about this is that you need only a small quantity to cover both eyes. Would I buy this cream again even though it costs in excess of 400 Australian dollars? Absolutely yes. Now, if only I can find a face cream that is this good...

Lipstick -NARS - Lipstick in Dolce Vita
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 9/18/2006 6:41:00 AM

This lipstick is destined to become one of my HG lipsticks. It is a nice subtle healthy lip colour, quite neutral. I find that the texture is great too - moist and lasting. I will definitely buy this one again.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 9/18/2006 6:37:00 AM

This really is a beautiful blush although on my olive skin, it doesn't have enough pigmentation. I tend to use it for work as it is impossible to overdo with this colour and it also gives me a healthy look. I tend to use it as a highlighter with another colour underneath when I have the time.

Makeup Brushes -NARS - Smudge Brush 15
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 8/23/2006 2:17:00 AM

What a great brush! I bought it only yesterday and have managed to achieve a perfectly lined eye in record time this morning. I have also managed to vary the effect depending on where I position the brush for a finer or smudgier effect. What a find, what a shame I didn't know about it before.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Baby Lips
rated 2 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/10/2006 5:42:00 PM

I think the colour is quite nice and looks good with a little lip gloss over the top. I don't understand why the texture is so hard and dry for a sheer lipstick! If it stayed on longer, I could understand - but it doesn't. This is the first and wil be the last LM lipstick that I buy.

Lip Treatments -Jurlique - Lip Care Balm
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/4/2006 6:28:00 PM

I first used this product when Jurlique was virtually unknown (before the hype). I still use this product even though my normal skin regime hs strayed a little from their other products. It is, without a doubt, the BEST lip balm there is - tube or stick. I find that it softens and moisturisers with a lasting effect - other lip balms disappear so quickly and so do the benefits. Any time I am lured in by other brands with their fancy packaging I always regret it and come back to this one. While it is a little on the pricey side - I usually get at least two years out of a tube, which for me, is value for money. I like the fact that they have a lipstick style version now too.

Bath Treatments -Aveda - Soothing Aqua Therapy
rated 5 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/4/2006 7:12:00 AM

This is such an expensive product but it has a really heavenly smell. Nt only that, but it seems to soften or moisturise the water so your skin doesn't end up feeling stripped. I will buy it again depite the incredible expense (particularly in Australia)

Lip Liners -DuWop - Reverse Lipliner
rated 2 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/4/2006 7:08:00 AM

I don't like this pencil. I think it is great idea, it looks nice and is fun to play with, but I don't think it is a useful product - particularly because it is SO thick. I tried to use it as a lip primer like some of the other reviewers have suggested, but I didn't think that was very good either. I think that this will be one of those products hanging around in my make-up kit for years hoping that I will use it - a product that promised so much and delivered so little until I get tired of it and throw it out!!

Loose Powders -Prescriptives - Magic Liquid Powder
rated 3 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/4/2006 7:02:00 AM

This is the second time I have bought this product, mainly because I am trying hard to love it (because I really really like the magic potion). I don't like the cold feel of the powder and I find it really difficult to get an even finish on the face. I also think it looks far too sparkly on the face for daytime. The brush that comes with it is a bit of a dud as well. I think I will mix this is with my "plain" transluscent powder - which is what I did last time. I don't think I will be lured in by this product a third time.

Highlighters -Prescriptives - Magic Illuminating Liquid Potion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Makeup_Obsessed 7/4/2006 6:58:00 AM

I have used this product twice now and have finally learnt that the secret is to use just a little bit all over the face otherwise there is a bit of a danger of looking greasy and a bit geisha like. It gives a nice smooth "undercoat" and illumination. My big complaint with this product is the packaging. It is impossible to get a small amount out and the neck of the bottle always ends up oozing with excess product that gets all gooey. I agree with other reviewers suggestion of a pump bottle - that would be perfect.
