Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads

Just bought my 3rd tub! This has really helped keep my skin so smooth and glowy. It's expensive but you can make it last longer by cutting the pads in half (they are so saturated you really only need half, and you can actually squeeze out a little excess and still have enough for your whole face and neck). After I wipe down my face and neck, with clean hands, I just masage the excess in, because it can be a little sticky if I just let it soak in by itself. Then I let my skin soak it up for a couple minutes then apply my serum and moisturizer (in the morning I also apply spf, very important!). I used to use it only at night but recently started using it twice a day and I feel my skin has become a little more smoother and brighter! I will only spend money on high end products when I think it's worth it and this is completely worth it. I tried the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads but I didn't really see any results, I can totally see a major difference in the texture and tone of my skin with these pads. Will continue using because it maintains my skin looking healthy and helps my hyper-pigmentation (from the occasional pimple......that I can't help popping......). So I gave these a 5 because although I'm not sure if these are THE best out there, they are the best I've found :)
There's really nothing more to add...... this palette is AMAZING, I love it, I use it almost everyday, I love it so much I got the Naked 2 palette and I love that one too!
Blush -Bare Escentuals - Buxom True Hue Blush: Shangri-La-La
Maite5468 9/15/2012 4:11:00 PM
Oooook this blush is SO gorgeous! I'm so impressed with Buxom (love their lipglosses too)!!! This one is the only one I own so far but I def want to try out some of the other colors. It's VERY pigmented, I have to apply it with a stippling brush and a light hand! They describe the color as a toasted berry and I think that's pretty much right, it's like a plummy berry. The formulation is so smooth and I love that it makes my cheeks glow! It's not matte but it's not shimmery, I hate shimmery blushes! The website describes it as luminous......and yea it really does illuminate my cheeks! I love that!! For $24 u get 5g of product, def on the pricey side but u get what u pay for and this is def an excellent quality blush! Hands down my fav that I own! AND it doesn't break me out, which is a miracle cuz I think everything does AND it lasts all day on my oily skin that i have to blot at least twice a day! So this is a WINNER!!!
Treatments -Bare Escentuals - Active Cell Renewal Night Serum

I'm so surprised this has not gotten better reviews! I love it!! My skin is a pain in the butt......very oily, very acne prone, and uneven! I suffered through a really bad break out last year and this is one of the products that helped my skin get back to normal. I feel like it soaks right in and my skin feels and looks great in the morning! My scars have almost completely disappeared, and it doesn't break me out, in fact I break out so much less now, and really only during that 'special' time of the month. After using my clarisonic, which I think helps this absorb even better, I apply this then wait 5 minutes and apply my night cream (Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Anti-Wrinkle) on top......every night......next morning my skin is soft, and glowing! Love all the products I'm using and this one is def an essential part of my night routine! Feels great, not greasy, no strong smell, my skin just drinks it up! One con, the bottle, ayiyiyi, i wish it wasn't glass because i did drop it once and it shattered on my bathroom floor, I was devasted but i had to repurchase because it is that good! Idk about the glass bottle with the dropper, maybe they should change it to something that won't break since it is on the pricey side.......or maybe I should just be more careful, idk lol. So, It lasts me about 4-6 months (maybe allittle less depending on how much I use, usually a little bigger than pea sized amount but if my skin is feeling dry I use a tad bit more). Great stuff, quality ingredients, natural, and really not that expensive compared to other high end serums and considering how long it lasts it's def worth every penny!
One word......DELICIOUS!!! I love sweet smells (my absolute fav is Flowerbomb) I'm so glad I got this, it lasts a really long time (almost a whole work day) and fades nicely. It's sweet but not too sweet, like a grown up sexy sweet. It's similar to Flowerbomb because they both have notes of Patchouli, but that's the only hint of similarity, I wouldn't consider this a dupe for it in any way because they smell completely different on me, to me this one is a little sweeter, Flowerbomb is a little spicier :) I would def repurchase, but next time I'll get the bigger bottle!! Only thing I don't like is the little piece of ribbon wrapped around the neck of the bottle, I just don't get it :/ o well doesn't affect my rating, I'm just saying! :)
I can't believe I haven't reviewed my beloved Mia!! I've been using it for almost a year and I gotta tell u.....this has really really made a huge difference in the way my skin looks and feels! I use this every night, usually for about a minute and a half (I have the original Mia so it shuts off automatically after 1 min so I just turn it back on and use it a little longer). I suffered through a very very bad breakout after I stopped using Proactiv (decided to stop using so any chemicals and go more natural) last summer and my skin looked absolutely HORRIBLE......cystic acne + picking= the worst skin of my life!! I battled through it because I felt that it was my skin going threw 'withdrawl'.... I decided to add this to my arsenal because I had so much scarring and the texture of my skin was so rough I thought this would speed up the exfoliation process. I'm really glad a stuck with it, it took almost a year but now my skin looks 200% better, my scars have almost completely faded, I do get breakouts during that 'special' time of the month but not cystic and as long as I don't pick they usually go away in a few days. Anyways this really gets my skin squeaky, like a deep clean that I can't see but I can feel, and it's gentle at the same time, as long as you u it correctly, no need to press hard just turn it on and buff in circular motions very gently! Also, I feel like my serum and moisturizer absorbs so much better after using this!! It's really an amazing tool and it really helped reduce the scarring and improve the texture of my skin (a long with good skin care products and a healthy lifestyle of course). I paid US $120 and if it broke and I had to buy another one I would, it is THAT great! BTW, I've dropped it a couple times (I keep it in the shower because that's where I use it) and there is not a scratch on it, so it's built exceptionally well, very good quality!
Got this as a sample from Sephora......thank goodness I didn't buy it.........Smells good but doesn't last....... So it doesn't matter how good it smells if it's gonna fade in less then an hour right, it would be a waste of money!! :/ My Flowerbomb and La Vie est Belle last almost a whole work day!
Ok......I've struggled with finding a foundation that 1. Doesnt't break me out and clog my pores 2. Stays on without fading away thoughout the day (my skin is super oily) 3. Doesn't settle into every single crease and crevice! TIU is THE best long wearing foundation I have tried, it's a medium to full coverage (buildable without getting cakey) I either apply it with my fingers or a Sigma brush (usually the F80)......it has a beautiful finish and lasts at least 12h (my normal work day) withstands heat and humidity (I live in FL).....yes I do have to blot at least once but I don't think there's a foundation out there that can completely control oil ALL day. So the claim: The full coverage you need – flaws, pores, redness and all imperfections visibly disappear. The velvety finish you love for 24-hour lasting perfection and comfort. Full coverage. Velvety matte finish with no powdery effect. Oil-free. Fragrance-free. Transfer-free. Non-comedogenic. Tested on sensitive skin. Tested under dermatological control. I agree with everything except the transfer resistant part because it has transferred onto tissue after I've blown my nose. The finish is velvety matte, not like a mask (like Estée Lauder DW, which was horrible!) and just blends in so smoothly. Only big con is the price and the fact that I need 2 shades to mix together (320 Bisque W and 460 Suede W, 1 pump of 320 and like 1/4 pump of the 460).....o yea and about the packaging, the pump is AWESOME, very controllable, but the bottle is frosted so I can't tell how much is left which kinda sucks but I can live with that. So is it worth it.....yea for me it is.......would I rather just use one shade and not spend so much.......of course but for now I'm sticking with what works and this works!
Powder -Chanel - poudre universelle libre(natural finish loose powder)
Maite5468 9/6/2012 8:22:00 AM
I've been using this loose powder for almost 6 months almost everyday.....number one for the price (US $52) you get A LOT of product, 30g, I think I've used maybe a quarter of it, so it's totally worth the high price tag!! I use it to set my Lancôme foundation, and it gives such a flawless, smooth, matte finish......it does a pretty good job controlling oil, I can go about 4 hrs w/o blotting, which is pretty good since I have super oily skin. I got the shade 30 Naturel, it doesn't change the color of my foundation because it's such a sheer finish, it just sets it nicely, I use the ecotools big bronzer brush to pat it on. I'm very acne prone and most powders have broken me out, even the powder that is suppose to go with my foundation! Not this one though, I really want to try the compact powder to take with me in my purse......so yes I highly recommend this as a setting powder, it has a beautiful finish, no smell that I can detect, doesn't case break outs (for me), top quality, and you get a lot for your money (can easily last over a year)!!
UPDATE 9/6/12 - Still using pretty much everyday! Still in love, still my HG and I haven't even hit pan yet!! This stuff is amazing!!! Holy moly this bronzer is PERFECT for contouring!!! It has no orange undertones and no shimmer! It looks very natural on my medium toned skin and I think it would actually look good on anyone because u can use it very lightly or build it up for a darker color.......it's just perfect and I'm in love!! The chocolate smell is very light.... I do smell a little hint of cocoa in the pan but since I only really use it to contour my cheeks I can't smell it after its applied. My face is very sensitive and this hasn't caused any break outs or negative reactions. It's a little pricey, I think I paid like $30 for it but it's gonna last me a very long time since its very pigmented and I only use a little at a time. If your looking for a matte truly brown bronzer (especially to use for contouring) THIS IS IT. I tried MAC's Harmony but it broke me out (like most MAC powders do) and the color wasn't that great on me. I also have NYC Sunny bronzer but I think it makes me look 'dirty' since it has those orange tones in it that bronzers usually have :/ So this one is a definite HG bronzer for me!!!
UPDATE 9/15/12: I've been using Milani's Luminoso for a peachy blush instead of this one, it's more affordable and I know it's not the same color or finish (Lover is a matte, Luminoso is more glowy), I think I like it better. WOW..... Way better than MAC Peaches......this blush is soooooo pretty! I now have 2 Illamasqua blushes (Hussy is the other one) and I love them both so very much! I wrote a review on Hussy too but I'll say it again.....Illamasqua blushes are super pigmented and a little goes a very long way so they will last me quite a long time and that makes the price worth it!
Sunscreen -Shiseido - Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream For Face SPF38
Maite5468 3/25/2012 11:33:00 AM
I really like this product. I've been using it for about 3 weeks and I haven't had any breakouts (well I have but not because of this product). It has been so hard for me to find a good quality, physical SPF that doesn't break me out......I've tried so many natural ones that were either too greasy or they clogged my pores. This one may not be 100% natural but it works for me and from my experience with trying out so many different products is that when u find something that works, stick with it! It's oil-free, PABA free, paraben free AND it leaves my skin matte which I I love.....it goes on so smooth, my makeup goes on very well over it. It's very water resistant so u have to make sure to have good night time cleansing routine to get it all off....that's not a problem for me, between my OCM and the clarisonic I always go to bed with a super clean face! It doesn't feel heavy at all, the packaging is nice, it provides UVA and UVB protection, and it says it provides some anti-aging (antioxidants) properties which is a nice plus. I use about a dime size amount for my face/neck so I think it'll last me a good 3 months...... $32 (for 2 oz) I think this product is well worth it. This is not a moisturizer, don't expect it to do that (even though it does say it quenches dry skin.... it doesn't) but If you're oily/acne-prone and have not been able to find a good quality SPF to use under you're moisturizer then give this one a try!
Well.....it was a dollar so I didn't expect much. It worked okay, stayed on pretty well and applied ok but the top wasn't very secure......it ended up falling off and the tip dried out. I rather just spend a little more and get a better quality felt tip eyeliner......if you're on a budget a don't mind buying a few of these (I think u would probably need 2-3 a month if u use it everyday). The tip was also kind of rough I had to b careful not to press too hard cuz it hurt if I applied too much pressure. It was just ok for me.....I don't feel bad about buying it though since it was just $1.
UPDATE 9/15/12: Didn't think it was possible but I found an even better and prettier blush! Buxom True Hue in Shangri-la-la........ :) WOW WOW WOW.......where have u been all my life!!!! This is THE perfect blush, looks bright in the pan and def can be overdone if u put too much but a little goes a loooong way and it brightens up my face like no blush ever has!! I actually exchanged my Nars Amour blush for this (I couldn't get it to work for me, it didn't go on smoothly and the shade just didn't suit me). But Hussy.......Hussy is PERFECT, it's like a rosey, candy pink color that I think would suit every skin tone! The packaging says: Illuminate, radiate, make your face come alive with the colour and drama of Illamasqua Powder Blusher. Colour-intense and highly pigmented, use it to shade, brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face. Be bold, be daring, be the centre of attention. - well that's exactly what it does!! I like the packaging, very good quality, which is expected if I'm gonna pay $25 for a blush right! IMO Illamasqua has the best blushes and I can't wait to try out more! (I'm going for either Lover or Create next!!) :))
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
Maite5468 2/8/2012 9:41:00 PM
LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I use I with Organic ACV (Bragg's) and add either TTO or Manuka Oil (to kill bacteria) and leave it on till it dries up completely (usually 30-45 mins) my skin a slightly red but that goes away after like 30 mins. I do have to moisturize right away cuz it does dry out my skin, which is also y I cant use it more then twice a week, but that's enough for me! I really feel like it sucks everything out of my pores, I feel it pulsating and it leaves my face super clean! I remove all my MU with jojoba oil (if I'm wearing any) and then cleanse it with Dr.Bronners tea tree soap so I don't need to wash my face after I remove the mask. I got a huge tub and I've had it for like 6 months and I've hardly made a dent in it so this stuff is gonna last me forever! U only need like a TBSP and maybe the same amount of ACV (maybe more just mix little by little till u get the consistency u want) and make sure to not use anything metal because it lessens the effects of the clay. SO GO BUY IT! :)
