Powder -Elizabeth Arden - Pure Finish Mineral Makeup
rated 4 of 5

I just love this product! It goes on so smoothly and it's barely noticeable that I'm wearing foundation. I've always had an aversion to powder foundation after a horrible Covergirl pressed powder foundation incident. I decided to try the product after playing with the packaging. It's so cute! I love the concept of grinding out the amount I need. The product goes on nicely. My only complaint is that Elizabeth Arden does not make a foundation shade that matches my skin tone. I'm wearing 006 but in certain light, it looks too peachy. The shades always seem too cool. I use the brush set that comes separately which are so soft. The coverage isn't the best. I prefer a fuller coverage to hide my acne scars. All in all it's a good product. It goes on nicely and doesn't make me break out. I just wish there was more shade selection.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Liquid Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 12/28/2008 8:06:00 PM

I must say I love this line of liquid liners. They're the first try of liquid liners and the only one I going to use for now. I have about 4 of them and growing. They do tell to smuggle a little but not as bad as pencil liners tend to do on me. The brush could be stiffer but for a beginner like me, I'm actually doing okay with it. The formula is just thick enough to go on relatively smoothly and dry in a short amount of time. The bronze one and the gray blue one are my favorites at the current moment. All in all, it's a good line and at DR they're around $4 which isn't bad for something that even a beginner with asian eyes can use and not spread all over the eyes.

Eyeliner -Prestige - LiquidGlitter Precision Eyeliner GLE-01 Starlit Black
rated 1 of 5
MagicalFlame 12/28/2008 8:00:00 PM

Well I got this in Cosmic since the tube looked like a nice dark teal color. It's not. The color comes off this awful sky blue color with little to no glitter. I love blue personally but paint like blue in a supposedly glittery liner is terrible! I loved Prestige's other liquid liners but this line( the glitter) is just failure. The brush is like a skinny brush, not stiff at all. It's also not gathered together that much which is ridiculous for a"precision" liner. All in all, I hate it. But you should try their other lines. I got them at DR and they were fairly cheap (around $4-$5) which isn't too bad for a good liner.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products
rated 2 of 5
MagicalFlame 11/4/2008 2:46:00 PM

I got Bio-oil after the mentions of it by the girls at Lipgloss and Laptops. I haven't been using it for 3 months which is apparently the time it takes to make my stretchmarks go away or faint so I have time. I used it as a bath oil and I guess I put away too muck (about 6 drops to assure the max effects) and the next day, my legs and backside was littered with painful, itchy bumps. That is how I learned a little goes a long way since I never experienced this with one drop on each effected area. The packaging leaves room for change but the smell isn't that bad. It can be a bit strong but not horrible. I got this for 20 dollars without tax at Walmart which seems like a lot compared to the other prices I've heard.... Until 3 months!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Gilded #806
rated 3 of 5
MagicalFlame 10/2/2008 9:49:00 PM

I want to love this eyeshadow so much! The pigment is just awesome, especially for a drugstore and the case is quite nice. It's quite cheap but after using department store brands like Lancome and Estee Lauder, HIP just can't compare. By the end of the day, my eyes are surrounded by the rings from the eyeshadow smuggling under my lashes. It's awful! I don't know if I just have oily eyelids or what but no matter what I do, the shadow just creases in a line T_T It's rather bad. All in all, it's a cheap product that would probaly be good for a night look but doesn't say perfect for long so...good for a short day thing or whatever.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Sensuous
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/26/2008 7:17:00 PM

Sensuous is a woodsy sweet amber scent and I love it! It's like a sweeter version of a man's cologne which I find quite attractive. I've only tried one other Estee Lauder fragrance, the Exotic Pleasures but I got it in a lotion and didn't have a great experience. Sensuous is a bit sweet when you first put it on but fades to something warm amber scent. I will admit that it doesn't last long on my skin but I spritzed it in my hair and it lasted all day though school which is a miracle almost. All in all, I think the scent fits me well but it might be too sweet for those who like woodsy scent or too much for floral lovers. Edit: Well I've had this perfume for about a year. My now ex boyfriend constantly told me that I smell so good. I spitz it in the air and walk though it. I shake my hair and it lasts for so long in my hair. My skin is another story since it don't last long at all. I gave a little sample bottle to my friend and she loves it too. It may be true that I love it because I'm young but it's a very nice scent.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/25/2008 10:29:00 PM

Sumptuous is a mascara that give me a dramatic look just because my lashes (I curl them before I use mascara) look almost fake. It's a odd thing for me to get that but not necessarily bad. My lashes are so long looking and a bit thicker that it is definitely the right choice for it as part of the makeup I'm wearing for my homecoming dance. This is surprising as I have short , straight, and thin lashes (Asian genes for me). As for a everyday mascara, I can't say I will wear it as if I wanted to, I have to go though my lashes with a brow brush. This is due to the fact that it makes my lashes clump a little and a bit spider leg like which I can't say I'm a fan of. It seems to be able to keep a curl for a while but I haven't tried it for that long as I just got mine today in the mail. I can't really tell the color is any special as black on black just looks the same. I will admit that after I used the comb part of my brow brush, my lashes do look more natural and still had a bit of curl in it without looking fake. There is a bit of a paint like smell to it so be aware of that. I don't think any other reviewers have mention so I might just have a very sensitive nose. The brush is a bit too big for me to do my lower lashes and the inner conner of my eye so I can't say I like that. As I mentioned before, there is a little clumping and I blame the brush as it doesn't separate the lashes well. I have to say the tube does look nice. It's a bright gold with a navy stripe at the opening (Estee Lauder colors) and looks simple but elegant in my make-up bag. All in all, I like the mascara and I don't regret buying it.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Signature Lipstick - Chestnut
rated 3 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/25/2008 7:37:00 PM

I got this with a GWP and was quite hesitate to try it because of the dark shade in the tube. It's a pale pinkish orange that looked almost brown in the store. I've use the pure color line by Estee Lauder so I was surprised to see the lack of creamy formula. I don't use that much lipstick except those from Clinique which are exempted from the thick, heavy feeling of it. I like lipsticks that go on creamy and this is lacking greatly from it.Besides that, the color is quite nice. It's about 2 shades darker than my own natural color with a little shine with I like. It's a very light pink tone with orange accents. If only it was a little lighter I would probably love it but it's not. Estee Lauder products, especially their lip products, have a distinct scent and Chestnut is no different. It's a bit sweet but othing too horrible. The lipstick itself reminds me of my Clinique Poppy Shine hich looks quite different in the tube but gives a lighter shade of the color on my lips. All in all, it's not a bad shade and I'll probably use it more than my other GWP lipsticks.

Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
rated 2 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/19/2008 11:36:00 PM

Lol Not really special, just another Allure sampler...I can't say I love this mascara. I curl my lashes before application and I do enjoy that they stay curled until the end of my 9 hour school day (sometimes even longer for days of after school activities)which makes my eyes look awesome, especially because of the Asian, short, and down-slanted lashes I'm 'blessed' with. That's pretty much all that I like about it. The mascara isn't that slow drying but I can't say it's that quick for the time I have to get ready. My lashes do look thicker but not to the extent that it looks fake as a reviewer suffered. The brush I can't say it that great. The 'longest' side clumps my lashes if I don't coat on at least 3 layers which is a bit much compared to my other mascaras. The shortest (bristles) can't even get to my lashes unless I try to poke my eye other. Basically, not for those with short lashes unless you're an expert at this. So no real help from the design of which Clinique has a similar one but only 2 sides which is enough for me and it doesn't clump. The main problem of why I won't buy this mascara is that it smears all under my eye by the end of the day and LOOKS TERRIBLE. When I use my make-up eye remover, I did notice I still have a lot of mascara on the lashes which is a bit of a plus but the panda look really doesn't help my Panda nickname ^_^

Styling Products -Pantene - Texture and Shine Defining Pomade [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/13/2008 1:42:00 PM

This is the first thing I've tried a pomade, so I really can't compare it to anything. I really like the texture that my hair get and it give a bit of volume. I can get little waves in my hair without using a iron or anything. It does make my fine hair a bit oily when I tried to style it even more. The main thing I hated was that it's not long lasting and that's why I tried to put more into it. Not a great styling product except for the little texture but it is fun to play with. My hair is pretty shiny as it is black so no change there.

Crème -Elizabeth Arden - Flawless Finish Sponge-On Creme Make-up
rated 3 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/13/2008 1:33:00 PM

I haven't use foundation in over 3 years but since I fell in love with my Lancome concealer, I decided to retry it. Since there was a GWP at the Elizabeth Arden counter, I decided to try it out. The lady at the counter says this is the foundation she uses. I will admit I only got this foundation just because of the gift. The packaging is really nice and looks very high end. In the store, the lady piled it on and I almost didn't like it cause it looked 'dusty' on my face. At a distance my skin looks perfect and flawless but closer you can see I'm wearing makeup and it's not a nice feeling. It's a bit cakey but I've basically given up finding a foundation that doesn't look cakey or streaky. The foundation is a bit oily and makes my face a bit shiny but not too an awful extent. I wear this with my Lancome concealer under it and my acne scars and pimples aren't as apparent or gone(at a distance). I really don't like the sponge due to the smell. It's very chemical and just too much. But I'll just deal. This foundation isn't too bad so give it a try if you have the money. The only thing I'm confused and annoyed about it that this oil has come from the foundation and smeared around the mirror and the pan that the foundation is in. I love the packaging so much! It looks so pretty in my makeup bag and I think I'll even use put it in my bag for school, something I never do with foundation. Another thing is that the color selection was awful. I'm Asian so I tend to need a yellow undertone but the shades were pretty too rosy or just some other problem. ***Update: I have used this for about a week or so and I have come to like it, despite the smell (which is actually from the foundation and sponge) which is, for lack of a better term, old lady floral. Damping the sponge overnight and having a little water in the sponge works wonderfully. It looks less cakey and gives more control to the product. I don't reapply during my 9 hour school day which is sometimes longer for activiities so I've found that it doesn't last that long. There's a little where it's stayed because I have places more there but not as much as I wish. My face hasn't gotten that oiler from the product; just the normal as I suffer from. I have had a few breakouts but it's more due to stress. All in all, not a bad product.

Lip Liners -Rimmel - vinyl jelly gloss lip liner [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 9/5/2008 5:46:00 PM

I have never been a user of lip liner so i was hestitate to use this one that my mother gave to me. I got 002 Be A Star...It's a bright pink shade. It goes on very creamy which is awesome and a bit too bright for my taste. I got some tissue paper and blotted it and the shade of my lips was so pretty! It looked like my Estee Lauder lipstick in Candy and I love that shade. It's like I've been bitting my lips again and that looks very good to me. With a lip balm over it, it gives a polished look without too bit to get done. I haven't used enough to sharpen it so I won't know about the complaints about the wood or the discontinution. I think I'll go see if I can find some other shades. I do like it and it has sold me despite it being a lip liner of which I NEVER EVER use. Now I want to try others....lol

Fragrances -Lise Watier - Neiges
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 8/30/2008 4:41:00 PM

I got this one on a trip to Canada at the duty free store coming back. I wanted a perfume that both me and my mother would enjoy and the lady showed me this one among others. Despite being a teenager, I like more sophisticated scents without being too old lady like. I ended up taking the entire bottle and my mother kept her limited edition Oscar de la Renta. I simply love the scent. It's very clean, powdery scented with a nice floral overtone. The heaviness of it makes it more of a winter scent but I had used it sometimes in the summer on very cool days. Unfortunately for me, it's only available in Canada or at least I can't find it in the U.S. and I have only one bottle. On stressful days, I spray a little in my room and it fans out, making my entire room smell awesome. I got it in a $40 gift set that came with a lipgloss that had a light scent to it. The bottle is so cute! It's so beautiful with the snowflakes, looks nice on my desk. Recently I've found the new Estee Lauder Sensuous perfume and it is now my replacement despite the mass differences. It's sweeter with a darker woody tone.

Lips -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers in Champagne
rated 2 of 5
MagicalFlame 8/24/2008 9:32:00 PM

I think that I might like this product had I chosen a better shade. It's far too shimmery for me and looks just ways too frosted for my sightly tanned Asian skin. The lip balm is nice and my lips do feel so soft after. The peppermint oil is nice without being too strong. It's odd but I think the Covergirl wetslicks amazemint is better with a nicer color pay-off. That lipgloss has the peppermint scent and makes my lips just as soft. I'm not too sure but I think it's also cheaper? All is all, it's not a bad product but not one I would use everyday.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Night Treatment Gel
rated 4 of 5
MagicalFlame 7/30/2008 11:00:00 PM

This product is awesome! It's not a over-night healer for my acne or very preventive but it actually speeds up the process unlike most of the products I've used for the acne. I was so disappointed to learned that it's been discontiuned! Unlike the spot treatment that's I've had to turn to, it doesn't sting and the scent isn't awful. It's a bit alcoholic and leaves you shiny but it is a night treatment. The bottle lasts for a while and I do wish I had gotten more before it was discontinued...CLINIQUE PLEASE BRING IT BACK! lol
