I've used the highly raved MAC/Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner (their colour payoff is really good and lasting), Clio/Heroine liquid eyeliner but somehow at a point in time, their formula always end up making my eyes itch! It feels like powdery particles have dropped into my eye. I'm baised against pencils because it seems like their colour payoff is low and will not last me through the day. However, upon discovering eye primer (I'm using Urban Decay), this MAC Coffee eye pencil has work wonderfully on me. With the use of UD eye primer, the colour payoff is very good (with a few swipes, it looks better than gel/liquid), does not smudge, and it lasts me all day. I would only need do minor touch up once after work and the look is as fresh as in the morning! For my upper lashline, I draw it directly on my eyelids as close to my lash line as possible, and use a eyeliner brush to help blend/shape it a little. For my lower lashline, I prefer to use my eyeliner brush, go over the tip of the pencil to grab some colour, then apply with the brush on the lower lashline. This gives a softer, more even and natural look. The shade of brown is flattering to my black iris and is definitely a good alternative to black which might appear too harsh. I would highly recommend this!
It works nicely for shading of my jaw line. It comes with a little shimmer but its not noticeable once I blend it out. However, this shade is too dark for nose shading, and the golden shimmer makes my face look tan and bronzey hence I do not like to use it on my face besides the jaw line. This compact can lasts me such a long time, I don;t see myself needing to buying it again in near future.
Semi-matte red lippy with an orange undertone. Love it, it brightenings up my entire makeup and makes my teeth appear white! However, it can be quite tricky to apply especially the edges of the lips. I might have to get the lip liner in Heat Wave to prevent bleeding. Also, it can be quite drying so I will prep my lips with lip balm first before application.
It is a bright fuschia-pink, semi-matte lipstick. I love Nars lippies for their texture and this is no exception. It can be easily glide on the lips, the color might seem garish sometimes but with some outfit coordinations, it is just the right pop of colour I need! It is quite long lasting and will leave a nice stain of pink behind after wiping/eating. A lot of other luxury brands' lippies sometimes seem too creamy and "melty" looking for my liking.
*UPDATE* I have found a comparable if not better sunscreen from Clarins! It is also light-weight and pink-tinted. It works similarly like this one from Biore but I find that the oil control is slightly better with Clarins! I have been through a few bottles of this after discovering it. It is so light-weight that it feels so comfortable for daily use under my makeup. I still use a makeup primer with purple colour correct on top of this though as the pinkish tone of this sunscreen enhances radiance but does not help in colour correcting my yellow-undertone asian skin. I will keep buying this until I find a better sunscreen,
Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - Genefique Eye Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating

I like this product as it is very light and easily absorbed when it is pat lightly on the eye area. The after feeling is very refreshing and you don;t feel any weight of it. No milia seeds formation too, which is extremely important to me. It also works very well under my eye makeup. However, I must say after using it for 2 weeks, I don;t see much improvement to my dark circles although the eye area did feel more hydrated. In addition, the suggested way of application using the wand is totally useless. There is too much wastage if you apply using the wand and the product does not get absorbed. Totally waste of time. Application using patting of my finger is more efficient.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

*UPDATE* I realised this works wonderfully when it is applied after primer, before foundation/concealer (I'm used to applying eye concealer on my upper eyelid as well as undereye area). Eye primer is definitely a MUST for people who put on eyeshadow/eyeliner. My best makeup discovery of 2012! It probably would take me very long to use up the UD eye primer as a little goes a long way, but the next eye primer I'm interested to try would be from NARS. I hate to say this... but this product has been so overrated. It does what it is supposed to do well, keeping the eye makeup in place for an entire day. However, what I find most bothering is that upon application, it creates a "flaky" kind of layer on my eyelid. No matter how little I apply, I still get that "dry" and "flaky" layer. Prior to UD, I have tried the eye primer from Etude House and it gives me this same problem. I will definitely be trying the eye primer from Nars next time.
Cleansers -Biotherm - Biotherm Hydra Mineral Cleansing Toning Mousse

Cleansing power: Good for daily use, hydrating for dry-normal skin Smell: A little fragrance, very acceptable Price: Quite expensive at SGD 42 Will I buy it again: Maybe. I have been using Nivea whitening and I bought this in hope that maybe counter brands would be better for the skin. So far after cleansing, my skin has feel clean and hydrated. No breakouts.
Very affordable and effective dry shampoo! I'm using the original flavor and the smell is refreshing!
I have been using Aveda Shampure ever since I stumbled upon it during shopping for a daily shampoo. Upon doing a brief scalp analysis, my scalp belongs to the dry to normal category and I was recommended to use Shampure by the sales assistant. The smell of Shampure is HEAVENLY. It feels like spa everytime I wash my hair. It is easy to lather into foam and rinse away without feeling build-ups. After washing, my hair feels clean, not drying and soft.
Powder -Chanel - Vitalumiere Eclat de Chanel Compact Makeup

This is the ultimate HG powder foundation for my dry - normal skin! It is the only powder foundation that does not go on looking flaky, dry and cakey on my skin! This would be extremely useful for dry winter season! Its powder is extremely finely milled hence it looks very silky and goes on unnoticble on the skin. It is my daily foundation. With 1 light layer, I look so natural like I am not wearing any makeup with it. The coverage is light but buildable to medium. The faint rose scent, as of all Chanel products, is lovely. The powder foundation is to be used dry. It hardly oxidises hence it remains relatively fresh at the end of the day. Although it is pricey, a box can last me for a year or more! Chanel also has the Mat Lumiere range for oily skin. SOOOO satisfied with all the Chanel makeup/skincare products I've tried so far!
Initially it worked pretty well. Odourless, light and easy to apply with the applicator wand. However, I began to realise the essence makes my eyes itch when I wear contact lens. Dirt gets stuck easily on the applicator which makes it not hygienic. The essence also becomes thicker over time which makes it gluey to apply. There are definitely better eyelash essence out there. I would not buy this product again.
This is such a lovely coral-pink colour and it brightens up my face instantly. Its semi-matte formula is so awesome! So smooth and does not dry my lips. I would put on a layer of lipbalm, dab it with facial tissue, and apply Niagara, top it off with a little lipgloss at the middle top and bottom of the lips. I am so in love with the effect! Brings me anywhere from work to play. Apply 1-2 layer for that my-lips-but-better look; 3-4 layers for the play and fun look. Extremely versatile! HG! However, the 2 cons of this product are that it would not last after a meal and the matte black packaging is so easily dirtied. I have tried several lipsticks from MAC/YSL/Dior but could not find such suitable colours and they are often too creamy and creates the "artificial" look.
Brows -Shu Uemura - H9 Hard Brow Pencil - Seal Brown

This is definitely the BEST eyebrow product for dark brown/black hair asians! If you are into the Korean natural makeup look, this is the colour for you. The colour matches my natural black hair colour PERFECTLY. When it is bought from the shop, the pencil head is sharpened to a tapered shape resembling a blunt blade, It makes it SO easy to draw and define my eyebrows with this. Just shade with small light strokes along with your eyebrows and use a eyebrow brush to even the colour. Shu Uemura shops in Singapore provides free post-purchase service of shaving the pencil head into a blunt blade. My HG eyebrow pencil!
Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

I first saw this as a best seller from Sephora Singapore. I was so lucky to be gifted one in Blush before I went to buy it. It was a true match to my asian skin tone. Coverage: Light to medium. It's coverage almost like a liquid foundation. Texture: More liquid and spreadable than normal liquid foundation. Smell: A little of chemical smell but it goes away very fast and its not at all a concern for me. Performance at the start of the day: Fresh and dewy (I skipped the moisturiser and applied it after Shu uemura mousse makeup base and finish it off with Guerlain Meteorite finishing powder) Performance thoughout the day: No oxidisation, colour remains fresh and dewy (Need to only blot face lightly with facial tissue once) Performance at the end of the day: Still no oxidisation, colour remains fresh. I am very pleased with the result. However, I probably wouldn't recommend this for people with oily skin. Best for dry skin/normal skin, especially for the Winter season. The Chanel Aqualumiere would be the next liquid foundation I would want to try.
