Conditioner -Pantene - Classic Care Conditioner
Mac_Adamia 3/20/2006 10:36:00 AM
This conditioner is fabulous! I always come back to Pantene Classic Care after cheating on it with other conditioners that I think might offer me greater fulfillment, and it never fails to give me shiny, silky hair. The silicones and panthenol formula is perfect for my long, thin-but-damaged hair. It does start to build up after a while, so I clarify once a week and that takes care of any potential brittleness and breaking. As much as I love their conditioners, I must throw in a warning that Pantene shampoos are crap and will strip your hair bigtime, so beware of them.

Lotions/ Creams -Caswell-Massey - Dr. Hunter's Rosewater & Glycerine hand Creme
Mac_Adamia 3/20/2006 10:31:00 AM
My HG hand cream! This moisturizes so well and leaves my hands so silky without feeling coated. It does have an authentic and rather strong rose scent, so those who don't care for rose fragranced products should steer clear.

Skincare - Body -Yves Rocher - 2-in-1 Caribbean Aloe Vera Hydrating Bath-Shower Gel [DISCONTINUED]
Mac_Adamia 3/20/2006 10:27:00 AM
I first tried Yves Rocher products 12 years ago and I remain a loyal customer. I especially love their bath goodies, and this body wash is my absolute favorite. It has a light, pleasant scent and it leaves my skin completely clean yet soft. The price is decent but you can often get this for 50% off *or* 2-for-1. Pure luxury!

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
Mac_Adamia 3/20/2006 10:23:00 AM
This is one of two BHA products I use, and this is one I reach for in warmer months when I need very light moisture that won't block my pores. It is fragrance-free and non-irritating. It makes my skin soft and smooth and keeps it clear. I recommend Paula's Choice products to anyone who wants no-frills skin care that does what it says on the packaging.

Treatments (Eye) -DERMAdoctor - Wrinkle Revenge Eye
Mac_Adamia 3/19/2006 9:33:00 AM
I have a generous sample of this from Sephora and am seriously considering buying a jar when my paper packet is depleted. The fine lines under my eyes are already less noticeable. This is a non-greasy balm that smooths on easily, moisturizes well, and has an impressive ingredients list. Although the price seems outrageously steep for a jar of eye cream, keep it mind that this is a full ounce, twice as much as you'd get with most other eye creams.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Intensive Nourishing Night Cream
Mac_Adamia 3/19/2006 9:14:00 AM
This is my HG face cream, and I can't believe this has such bad reviews! *Please* do not shun this product because you don't care for the scent. I happen to love the way it smells, but I understand how much of a turn-off an undesirable perfume can be. I'm pleased to report that the fragrance of this cream fades quickly, and the benefits of this fabulous little jar of peach beta hydroxy-enriched goo far outweight any odorous negatives. Age Defying Intensive Nourishing Night Cream by Olay is, hands down, the best product I have ever used on my face. After the first application, my face was impressively smooth and had a healthy glow. It sinks right in and doesn't leave any grease floating on top of my skin. After only a few uses my pores were visibly tighter, and no breakouts! It's hard to believe that such spectacular results can be had for less than 10 bucks, but it's true. This cream has served me well. I cannot recommend this item highly enough, and again--please do not judge this based on its scent. I promise, give it a chance to fix your face and you'll be glad you did.

Lotions/ Creams -BeneFit Cosmetics - Touch Me Then Try To Leave Me cream [DISCONTINUED]
Mac_Adamia 3/14/2006 8:32:00 PM
I love this adorably packaged body cream. It's very rich, luxurious formula and sinks in quickly without any greasiness. The scent, which reminds me of spiced peaches, lingers nicely. The only thing I would change is the price.

Gels/Soaps -DHC - White Soap
Mac_Adamia 2/14/2006 2:41:00 PM
This is a brilliant body cleanser! It lathers very nicely and pampers my skin in these bitter winter months. It is completely fragrance-free so it never interferes with any scented lotions or sprays I use afterwards. The price is excellent, too! You can't go wrong with this one.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express Waterproof
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 5:24:00 PM
This is the best mascara I've tried in ages! I use it after curling my lashes, and it goes on neatly and coats every lash. Clumping is minimal and is easily fixed with my lash comb. This waterproof formula wears all day with absolutely no smudging or smearing! It stays put once it's dry so you'll need a good cleanser to remove it.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint for Eyes - Nude Sparkle [DISCONTINUED]
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 5:19:00 PM
I received a generous sample tube of this as part of a special Valentine's Day gift with my recent Gloss order. This is a very subdued and very pretty cream that smooths on easily and highlights beautifully. The Nude Sparkle shade would look good with all skin tones. I rarely wear eye color but this is one I would buy and wear often. Good job, Clinique!

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure Sensuelle
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 5:08:00 PM
I chose this as my sample with my recent Gloss order. Allure Sensuelle is a dramatic sweet-yet-smoky fragrance that would be fabulous for an evening event. Chanel's fragrances often do not agree with me, but I am pleased to report that this one is very nice. I would likely spring for a bottle of Allure Sensuelle if I could get a good deal on it.

Fragrances -Chanel - Chance
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 5:04:00 PM
I received an adorable sample bottle of this with my recent Gloss order. I really wanted to love Chance but in my opinion it's pretty mediocre. It has a strong pungent note that I can't place. It would probably be a good fragrance for the right occasion, but I'm not sure what that would be. It seems a bit too strong for daytime but not deep enough for evening wear.

Treatments -Neostrata - 15AHA Lotion (Glycolic Formulation)
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 3:16:00 PM
I use this as a lotion for my feet, knees, and elbows. It's too heavy for my face but is excellent on the dry areas of my body. I paid $21 for it and consider it worth every penny. I would definitely buy this again, and I recommend it to anyone with problem feet.

Treatments -Charles Worthington - RESULTS hair healer intensive leave-in conditioner
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 2:51:00 PM
Oh, I love this conditioner! I bought two of these during a hair care 2-for-1 sale at Walgreen's and have enough to last quite a while. I only need a nickel-sized amount for my mid-back length hair. My hair drinks it up and it doesn't leave any srickiness or grease. It has a strong aroma that reminds me of men's cologne. It's not a bad scent, though, and doesn't stay on my hair for long. Fabulous!

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Comme Une Evidence
Mac_Adamia 2/13/2006 2:26:00 PM
This is a delightful and soothing fragrance, and one of the best that Yves Rocher offers. It would work nicely for all seasons; it's airy enough for Spring and Summer, yet rich enough for Fall and Winter. As magnificent said further down the page, this fragrance is similar to Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. I think this would be an excellent alternative to that scent if price is an issue. Small, inexpensive bottles are available on the YR website if you'd like to try it before investing in a full-sized bottle.
