Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Sweet Mint
MSFIT75 4/8/2013 9:19:00 PM
I love this stuff! After hearing about it forever, I finally decided to pick one up at Ulta - I love that it's natural, minty and easy to apply. I still have quite a bit left but I hope it doesn't get weird once I'm almost done - as in hard to get out.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
MSFIT75 3/8/2013 6:24:00 PM
I can’t say I’ve tried many cult faves, only if they strike a chord with my curiosity. This particular item was purchased only because 1) it’s now available in a tube and 2) it just happened to be near the check-out at Bath & Body about a year ago. I used to be a huge Bath & Body fan but eventually lost interest. I wasn’t as focused on greening my beauty regimen when I purchased this, however, I wouldn’t exactly classify the following ingredients as natural or green: Petrolatum Cotton Seed Oil Trade Secret Perfume At first, I was quite pleased to see only three ingredients listed on the package, until I did the research. Yowzers!! Trade Secret Perfume is worrisome because we don’t know the secret behind the trade; not a fan of mystery ingredients. Second, there’s nothing natural about petrolatum or cotton seed oil. After researching, the thought of applying cotton seed oil anywhere near my lips frightens me. I will not be purchasing anything else with cotton seed in it, that’s for sure! Now, ingredients aside, let’s move on to the application…. It feels moisturizing, but I’m not a fan of rose scented anything! The first time I applied it, the scent was overwhelming so it took some time to grow on me. It’s heavily scented. I found myself reaching for it as I was running out of lip balm and eventually ran out completely so I relied on it as a substitute. Some days, the scent seemed more noticeable than others. If you like the smell of roses, you’ll love this stuff. It’s rose colored as well but doesn’t show up on my lips as they are fairly pigmented already. I paid $6 for this 30m tube, I was fine with that considering it’s a cult favorite. Normally, I don’t pay more than $3 for lip balm. I can’t say it was the best lip balm I’ve ever used, it’s fairly hydrating but due to the ingredients and price, I won’t be buying this again.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - CURLS Lavish Curls Moisturizer
MSFIT75 1/6/2013 8:13:00 PM
Bought this product to refresh my winter curls since I was mostly wash & go in the summer months & used water to refresh my curls daily. The water started frizzing my hair after awhile so I was excited to come across this item at Sally's. I was initially impressed for the first few days but after that I noticed it started to feel sticky & the bottle doesn't spray but it's a stream which I don't like. It no longer refreshed my curls & I started regretting this purchase. I'm returning it this week.

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex
MSFIT75 10/2/2012 2:15:00 PM
I received a generous sample to try. I was a bit excited because I'm currently loving another Olay lotion for my acneic skin & it's awesome but back to this. No complaints about the texture or scent but from the first application it not only dried my skin out but made me break out on my forehead & cheek so I'm giving it away. My skin was finally clear before this but it's starting to clear up again now that I'm going back to my old regimen. I won't buy this, that's for sure.

Shampoo -Aubrey Organics - Honeysuckle Rose shampoo
MSFIT75 9/7/2012 7:36:00 AM
This stuff is the absolute WORST. I seriously don't understand how a popular natural hair blogger can praise it so, when the reviews here are so bad. My hair is a dry rough mess right now & I'm a little worried it won't go back to what it was. I can't wait to co-wash in a few minutes. I used this shampoo two days ago followed by my normal co-wash with conditioner, leave-in & gel to define my curls. My hair felt 'off' right after I got out of the shower but didn't seem so bad as I went about my normal styling process but it was frizzy and dry-looking by the end of the day, I couldn't figure it out at first but this is the 2nd time using this shampoo & the second time this has happened. The reviews on here further confirm it - this stuff really is awful for natural hair. Far worse than my clarifying shampoo even & Aubrey's supposedly doesn't contain stripping detergents yet it zaps ALL of the moisture & then some out of my hair. Ugh. Never again.

Skincare - Face -Avon - Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel
MSFIT75 8/21/2012 9:55:00 AM
I tried this product on a whim in order to receive free shipping on Amazon. The cost was only $6.99 so I figured why not. I like glycolic based products and find they are more effective than retinol at reducing acne, offering a more even skintone and even imparting a subtle glow if you're lucky. I find this product is most effective for me when used at night and either every other day or weekly. Using it more than that irritated my skin and left a residual sting throughout the day. I could see a difference in the morning, a subtle gradual difference than was more apparent over time. My pimples cleared up faster, my skin had a glow & acne marks were starting to fade. This is my first time using this but given the price & the results, I would recommend and buy again.

This was a nice conditioner - it left my hair with some nice slip & made it easy to comb thru in the shower.

Polishes -Essie - Midnight Cami
MSFIT75 8/4/2012 1:20:00 AM
Normally I love Essie's polishes but I absolutely hate this one & I'm already dreading having to remove it even though I just applied it. It was very hard to work with for some reason, I just used it with my pedi & it was thick & sloppy. The brush size was fine but I've never had to clean up a nail color as much as I had to with this one. It went on thick & streaky & stained my skin & nails when I removed & reapplied. It's almost midnight so I wasn't in the mood to take it all off so I just finished the job & filing this in my "give away" bin because I don't want to use it ever again. I even added some polish thinner & that didn't help much.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
MSFIT75 6/30/2012 12:34:00 PM
This is my first experience w/ setting sprays- I plan to try out a few highly recommended but I came across this at Ulta & decided to try it out. I have really oily areas on my face so I'll be thrilled (and amazed) if I find something that controls the oil well. This was okay, it looked great at first but I still had to use my blotting sheets a few hours after spraying it on so that's a fail to me because I was still oily just not as much but still blotted just as often so I won't buy it again.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Hair Rules Hydrating Finishing Cream
MSFIT75 6/2/2012 11:55:00 AM
I received a generous sample of this at a beauty show & while I like the hydrating factor, I really dislike the smell. It has a weird plastic smell to it that stuck around for a bit. It made my hair softer instantly & easier to manage.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Kerstin Florian Correcting Oil-Free Daily Defense SPF50
MSFIT75 6/2/2012 11:49:00 AM
Ugh, this brand is so awful in my opinion yet New Beauty continues to add these products to their beauty subscription Test Tube which is how I got it. This sunscreen has a chalky feel & look when applied to my skin. It has little slip & I had to wash my face after applying it because it made me look like an oily ghostly mess. Can't believe it retail for $55.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Dial Yogurt Apricot & Almond Nourishing Body Wash
MSFIT75 5/21/2012 3:58:00 PM
It really bugs me when cosmetic companies use natural sounding ingredients to sell their crap-laden products. This lovely plastic bottle has Yogurt, Apricot and Almond in the title along with "Refreshes Thirsty Skin" at the bottom but the ingredients list has anything but natural terms listed. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is the second ingredient. This body wash has a sweet scent but dried out my skin so I tossed it & won't buy it again.

I've tried a few different brands of sandalwood soap & this is my favorite. Smells fresh & clean, comes beautifully wrapped & leaves my bathroom nicely scented.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Villainess - Smooch in Sidewalk
MSFIT75 5/10/2012 9:23:00 AM
I liked that it's all natural, smells like a tropical oasis & left my skin feeling soft & smelling great. I didn't like that it's expensive for a body scrub, the scent fades, the container makes it hard to get all of the product out & in general, I prefer salt scrubs over sugar.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - MultiplEYE Lash Primer
MSFIT75 4/15/2012 7:09:00 PM
I've had this forever & just tried it yesterday. I wish I'd tried it sooner. I was skeptical because of the white creamy consistency on the spoolie but when I applied to my lashes & then went over it with my mascara, I was pleasantly surprised. My mascara covered it with ease & my lashes looked fuller and had more volume as a result. It's a bit dried out now due to the lapse in time since I received it but I plan to buy it.
