Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer blush in Peachykeen
MACai 12/30/2008 1:03:00 PM
This color is startlingly similar to NARS Deep Throat which I have already. Its more pigmented than Deep Throat, and have more pink in it. Deep Throat has more coral, and applies a bit more sheerly. I feel Deep Throat lasts longer too. Peachykeen is pretty, but I can't justify keeping it.
Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Vanilla Birthday Cake 3-in-1
MACai 12/30/2008 1:00:00 PM
I got this in the Birthday Party set for my sister on Xmas since Xmas is the same day as her birthday. We share stuff all the time so we both use it...and we both love it! It smells so yummy...it doesn't last very long, but we don't want to smell like birthday cake all day long. We use this for body and hair. It doesn't dry out our skin in the dry New England winters and it leaves our hair so silky and soft. I plan on getting more of the 3-in-1s to try!
Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Baby-Mild Unscented Liquid Soap
MACai 12/30/2008 12:57:00 PM
Love using this for everything! I use it to wash my face in the mornings, clean my makeup brushes, wash my hands before handling contacts, etc etc. Its gentle and non-drying as well as organic. Great stuff!
Skincare - Face -Dr. Bronner's - Dr.Bronners Tea Tree Soap
MACai 12/30/2008 12:55:00 PM
My sister and I both use this and we love it! Its the only cleanser that helps prevent breakouts, and we've tried a lot of drugstore and high-end cleansers that just didn't work for us. Combined with an evening retinol treatment, both of us have been able to clear up dramatically! Love this stuff!
My sister used this on her sensitive skin and she broke out in hives. When I used it, I didn't break out, but I didn't feel that my face was smoother. So for me, it wasn't worth the price. My sister and I were both disappointed in this product.
This has completely replaced my EDM Long-handled kabuki, flat top kabuki, and MAC 187 brush. I love this brush to death! I was able to get a genuine brush from eBay for around $24, which I think is a reasonable price for such an awesome brush. When I first got it, it shed quite a bit. For after 4 or 5 washes, the shedding more or less disappeared. I use this to apply my mineral concealers and foundation--I like how I can see exactly where I am applying and I can get into the crevices around my nose. The only problem I have with it is that the shape of the brush gets a little wonky if I don't store it right, but I guess that's to be expected. I'm trying to find a good deal on this brush again on eBay cause I love it so much! Get it!
Foundations -New York Color - Smooth Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation
MACai 12/27/2008 8:07:00 PM
I really like this! I picked this up at my Target for ~$5. The compact is small and travel-friendly, and I love how it is pressed! The coverage is enough for me--I still use EDM's Pick Me Up Pink concealer underneath it. Goes on smoothly over my sunscreen (Shiseido Very Smooth Face Protection SPF 36), and lasts for the day! Will definitely repurchase if I don't find anything better!
Disgusting stuff. Used it consistently and religiously over 3 months, saw no improvement. Used Neutrogena's Anti-Wrinkle Intensive serum and saw results overnight. Never touching this stuff again.
Very soft! Its so soft that sometimes i just like to brush my face with it...boyfriend does it too when he thinks im not looking, haha! You'll need to be careful if using it with a very pigmented blush though.
Masks -Kose - Cosmeport Clear Turn White Mask Sheet (22pcs) - Blue Package
MACai 12/18/2008 12:11:00 PM
I've been using this for about 2 months. I use it 2-3 times a week before going to bed. And I like the results! My skin definitely looks more luminous--my coach kept commenting on how radiant I looked (although that radiance might have been because of sweat...). I just wish it was more accessible because I have to order this online where shipping charges can be ridiculous. Good product though, I recommend!
Concealers -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 2
MACai 12/18/2008 12:05:00 PM
This product is not an undereye concealer. Its more of a brightener/highlighter. I use Skin Food BB Cream in #2 with is moisturizing and has a pink tint on my undereye area as well as eyelids to neutralize and conceal the dark areas. THEN, I put this on the side of my nose, eyelid, and undereye and blend. It works wonderfully to brighten up the area naturally and I look much more awake. I also use it on the redness around my nose--it works well over EDM's Pink Me Up Pink concealer. Finally, I like using this to highlight my nose. Even though I have Copacabana, the shimmers in it are too obvious, so I use Touche Eclat instead and I love it! This is a great product if you know how to use it! Its expensive, but I got this in a swap so I didn't lose anything. As for repurchasing...I'm going to see if I can find a good alternative first...but I'm hoping this lovely clicky pen of golden goodness will last me a while.
Primer/ Corrector -Everyday Minerals - Pick Me Up Pink [DISCONTINUED]
MACai 12/18/2008 11:58:00 AM
This is a great product! I use this as an all over face concealer, brightener, and foundation. I don't have many things to cover up except for redness around my nose and my dark forehead. This does both wonderfully! I apply this with my MAC 109 by gently buffing it onto my skin. I don't put on foundation afterwards because it evens out my skin and looks natural--no pink tint or anything. The only thing it doesn't cover are my goshdarn undereye circles, but I didn't expect it to. The packaging just sucks...EDM should change it! I always get nervous about spilling stuff everywhere. But you get a lot and you use a little per application. Good stuff!
I received this in a swap from a great MUAer, and I absolutely love this product! I have a lot of blushes, with lots of different textures from shimmery to matte to in between. Posietint is the one that most closely mimics my natural cheek color after I come in from the cold or finish a workout. This color isn't natural for everyone, but it is for me. I've been using this alot this winter. For reference, I'm a NC20-25. I'll be purchasing this again once I run out which, hopefully, will be a while!
Ah I love this color! Its a bright fuschia-pink in the pan, but it is SO sheer. I use a normal blush brush instead of my stippling brush to apply this, and it is beautiful! A cute glowing pink cheek. I like to apply a layer of So Ceylon over this for an extra glow! Definitely recommend...best thing is that its not LE =D
I have a sample of this, and i LOVE it. You don't need to use a lot, and the golden flecks are so gorgeous! if they ever re-promote Black Ore, I am definitely going to buy the full-size version. I'm contemplating buying these on Ebay...hm...
