Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
rated 5 of 5

I own 10 of these, and I'm not kidding. It is my favorite brush out of all the brushes I own. It's soft and easy to clean. It can pack on color or give a nice wash of color, and it can be used to apply color in the crease. It blends shadows easily, and can even be used to apply concealer (I don't do this often; only when I haven't washed my 224s). If I had to recommend one eyeshadow brush, this would be it...

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

I like it as a highlighter and an all-over lid color. It's easy to blend and is pigmented. I use it for day and night looks. It's one of those eyeshadows that I would recommend to others for their makeup kit. It's not overwhelmingly glittery either.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe

This is one of my favorite e/s from MAC. I think it's very versatile in that I can use it for a day look and going out look. I can wear it alone if I'm in a hurry, and it works well with other neutral tones. It is pigmented and easy to blend. I think it would also work for all skin tones.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam
rated 4 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 4:33:00 PM

This is one of my favorite highlighters because it really gives my skin a nice glow. It doesn't have chunky glitter, or doesn't make my face look like I have glitter on it. You don't need much product either. I think this would work best for light to medium skin tones - I think it would look too bright on the skin if you are darker. I would like the product better in terms of packaging if it came in a pump - I don't use the brush cause I don't like dipping something I put on my face back into the product.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
rated 4 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 4:26:00 PM

These are one of my favorite glosses, as they last a long time on the lips (3-4 hrs.). They are quite sticky though because of this, so if you hate getting your hair stuck to your lips, you may not like these. They have a pretty wide range of colors, which are sheer on the lips - so if you are looking for opaque gloss, you may want to skip these. I also like the shine they give my lips. To me they smell and taste fruity, which I love.

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I can most definitely do without the brush as it's so scratchy, and it makes the packaging inconvenient. They could make the opening larger so I can get to the product out easier (especially if I want to use a larger brush). The actual product itself is ok - provides light coverage and can remove shine. I find it looks cakey if you try to build the coverage. The color range is pretty good too.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 4 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 4:16:00 PM

I find that the product separates (especially if I haven't used it in a while), so I always shake it before I squeeze product out. It's sheer when applied on, and dries to a soft powdery-like finish. I don't find that it makes my eyeshadows more vibrant, but it does keep my shadow on longer. It also doesn't crease, unless I've been wearing it for more than 8 hrs. I also love how it's in a squeeze tube that allows me to control how much I squeeze out (tiny opening).

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
rated 3 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 4:09:00 PM

I mainly use this brush to apply liquid foundation. It really does give me an airbrushed look and it feels soft on the skin. It's really easy to clean as well. I have used it to apply blush and loose powders before, but I find that there are better brushes for that, like the 109 or 116. There is also a cheaper alternative on the Sigma website...

Fragrances -J. Lo - Glow

Perfumes are really hard to review, just because everyone has their own favorite smells. I also find that certain perfumes smell different on different people. For me, this perfume smells clean, and a tad musky. I love how the smell of it makes me feel...sexy. I get a lot of compliments from friends and strangers about the perfume, and usually get asked what I'm wearing. So for me, this is my all time favorite perfume!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion

You get a lot of product, and a cute brush that actually works. The color is a pink that would work best for light to light-medium skin tones - it gives off the naturally blushed look on the cheeks. However, you need to apply a lot more if you're more medium as it's quite light (this can also make it look chalky or caked on). I really don't like the packaging also because it can fall apart or break easier.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5

The only thing I liked about these were that they are mechanical so I don't have to sharpen them haha. They do apply easier than your average drugstore eyeliner pencil, but does tug a little bit. I don't find these to be as pigmented as I thought they'd be. I find that they last for a max of 1 hr. on the upper lash line, and 15 min. on the waterline. They were also quite expensive for what I got (around $9 - $10 CDN I think).

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
rated 2 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 12:47:00 AM

I like the packaging the most, and how there's a pump with it. The color range is pretty good as well. I find that it gives off a dewy finish, so I wouldn't recommend this for those with oily skin. I do not like the shimmer particles in this product at all. When I bought this product, I knew that there was shimmer. But I also heard that it wasn't noticeable. However, I find that it is noticeable so it makes me self-conscious if someone is having a conversation with me. In the sunlight, it is even worse. The shimmer also defines my pores as well, so I have to wear a primer with this foundation.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 3 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 12:40:00 AM

It fills in my pores, which really makes foundation application easier. It makes my skin feel and look smoother, which is what I like most about it. However, I find that it makes my skin oily after a long time of wear - about 5 hrs. So I have to powder constantly throughout the day after that. Also, I have found products that work or are exactly the same as Photo Finish, and are cheaper. So this is why I wouldn't buy it again.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 3 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 12:34:00 AM

The color range is pretty good, and it covers spots really well as it is buildable. The concealer's blendable; I find that it works best when using a blending brush, like the 224. What I don't like about it is that it can look cakey, especially under the eyes. I really dislike the packaging and would prefer it to be in a jar like their paint pots. Also, if you can access it and you like the SF concealer, I recommend purchasing the MAC Full Coverage Foundation and using it as a concealer - it is seriously the same thing but in a bigger container (you also get more bang for your buck!).

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 5 of 5
MAAB1989 2/5/2011 12:25:00 AM

Holy moly does it ever hurt! However, it works! I use a strip 1 - 2 times a month to keep my pores and nose blackhead free. You can really see the results on the strips (disgusting, I know). If you don't have good pain tolerance or have quite delicate and sensitive skin, I'm not sure if this is the right product for you since it is quite painful and can tear thin layer(s) of skin.
