Powder -Hourglass - Ambient Lighting Powder
M1KEY 3/4/2013 7:08:00 PM
EW I absolutley hated this product. I was so so sooooo excited to try this and when I finally saw this in Canada at my Toronto Sephora I snatched it up in the shade Mood lighting which is the pink one. I wanted to use this over my Dior Airflash foundation and thought it would be a super light, skinlike powder that did all the wonderful things it said it would. It didn't. It made my face look AWFFFFULLLLL. It looked dry, dry DRYYYYYYY, chalky, powdery and emphasized pores and for some reason made my skin WAYYYYY more oily than it usually is. ew, no thanks. I'll stick with my Eshiko HD powder, or any HD powder of the same vain. This was an uber let down for me.

Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
M1KEY 3/4/2013 6:39:00 AM
I know a lot of people compare this to ELF's gotta glow, however after having and using both religiously there really is no comparison. Og course the concepts are very similar. They are both stark goldish-white powders that when swatched and applied to the skin leave an ivory gold glow behind. The BIGGEST difference is the texture and the way they sit on the skin and even the way the powders look in the pan. Albatross is an extremely creamy, iridescent, satiny powder to the touch and in the pan. The texture is extremely refined and I've never ever experience fallout or powderiness with this product. Swept on the cheek it leaves a gold glow and it's looks amazing! If you apply a liquid highlighter of the same vain first and then sweep this on it intensifies the look. ELF is very powdery and chalky. When you apply a brush in the pan powder will literally fall out and fly everywhere!!!!! and the worst thing is the finish it leaves on the cheek. From 5 feet away it looks alright. Upon closer inspection it literally just leaves you with pieces of gold glitter all over where you applied. Even when looking at it in the pan you can see the difference between the two. ELF sparkles, and glitters, and shimmers and NARS just looks buttery and satiny. To me the biggest difference is the glitter in the elf one. It looks extremely juvenile and like you just rubbed gold shimmer all over your cheeks. Not a fan! Get the Nars one!

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It
M1KEY 12/3/2012 9:23:00 AM
Flawless foundation! Reminds me of Makeup Forever HD if MUFE gave more coverage and lasted longer. So in this case, I use less and it lasts all day. the longest I've had it on is 13 hours and it still looked great! Pretty versatile. Gives FULL coverage with a realllly smooth, flawless finish, that still looks like skin. I would say the finish is more semi-matte, or matte-satin, luminous matte, however you wanna call it. It's not thick, dry, chalky matte. Quite thick and mousse like, I feel like a really dense buffing brush is best at applying this to really work this foundation into a cleansed, moisturized face. Get a sample, it's awesome!!

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
M1KEY 11/4/2012 9:25:00 AM
I wasn't a huge fan of this Foundation. I went and bought at Sephora kind of on a whim, and I was SO excited to try it based on the reviews. A lot of people likened it to Make up forever HD. I think they are a little bit similar in claims, but I found that everything I did like about the UD naked skin I like more in the Make up Forever HD. I've been using MUFE HD on an off for about 3 years and I LOOOOOVVVEEEE that foundation. I think I've come to realize it is my favorite foundation ever. In fact I'm going to be returning the UD naked skin and purchasing like my 4th bottle of MUFE HD. UD naked skin isn't bad. I would say it's worth a shot. I think the main thing for me was the color. I got 3.5 because I have a pink undertone, when I saw the shade in the bottle it looked hellllla dark, but everyone says that. The foundation does look darker in the bottle but when it's pumped out and spread out it lightens up. That being said, where the hell is the pink in 3.5? It was WAY too beigey, gray, maybe slightly pink, but hardly. Wasn't a fan of the shade, I feel like it made me look ill I think I've been spoiled by MUFE HD. Shade #135 is a dead on match to my skin. A light-medium skin tone with pink undertones and the pink is CLEARLY visible. I feel like MUFE brightens the center of my face when I put it on, and doesn't make me look ill. Wasn't a fan of how watery UD is. I consider MUFE HD to be quite runny but UD was a little much. I feel like my brush (real techniques buffing brush) completely soaked up a lot of it. I also had to use 2 pumps of UD as opposed to 1 pump of MUFE HD. All in all I think it just wasn't what I was hoping for, and for 1 extra dollar here in Canada I would MUCCCCCCH rather have the MUFE HD. I feel it's superior and the claims of it being virtually invisible are way more noticeable in the MUFE HD. Felt like I could see the UD on my skin a bit more. Hope this helped, go grab a sample!

Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup
M1KEY 10/24/2012 5:06:00 PM
This is THE best pressed powder I have ever used. I think it's a little bit pricey, pricier than say a Mac Studio Fix powder and about half the size but the amount you need it so so small so this should last you months and months. I'm not sure if there are *too* many HD pressed powders in general, I know i tried Graftobians and I did not like it at all for some reason. So in short this is a pressed powder that aims to look invisible and give you a flawless finish that will self adjust to ambient lighting. It sounds like hooey right? it's not! This powder makes your face look like you have studio lighting with you 24/7. this is THE only powder i've ever used that actually makes my face look better than it is. It's insane. I'm not too sure if this powder give coverage because I never use powder for coverage, only to set my foundation but I have heard this can give light-medium. this is a powder so it does take away shine but it won't keep oil at bay. When this powder mixes with your natural oil it looks unbelievably amazing/natural. Like a second skin. I use this with MUFE HD Foundation, and it's like, forget it, you just have perfect skin, like from a magazine. You definitely don't want to swirl a brush in this because the powder is sooooo finely milled it will just poof and go everywhere. Lightly tap your brush in it to pick up the product. Puts every powder to shame. I even had high hopes for the smashbox photo set pressed powder because I LOVE their HD foundation. Forget it, no other powder comes close to this. This gives a soft glow without looking shiny, or shimmery. Oily people will get oily tho, so you'll have to bring it on the go if you want to take the shine away. I kind of like the shine it gives tho. This is way too long. If you even considered this powder, get it!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
M1KEY 9/1/2012 12:52:00 PM
This is an amazing foundation if your skin can tolerate it and you're not over applying it. No pump, but you can buy one, and you'll have it for life if it doesn't break. Mac is "Phasing" in new packaging for this so I'm not sure what that means, maybe it'll come with a pump from now on or something. A Mac girl told me that they are renaming it slightly. It's still gonna be Studio Fix Fluid but apparently it's going to be marketed as an HD foundation. Anyway like I said, this stuff can absolutely look like perfect skin if you don't add too much, I'd say 1 PUMP-1 and a half TOPS. If you feel like you need it all over I'd recommend one LIGHT layer all over, wait, and then build up ONLY where you need it. Most people don't need anymore then that, and anymore than one light layer is such overkill >.< Blend nicely, last quite a long time, and can look so natural, but can also look horrendous if too much is used. I love "Patting" this foundation in with a Mac 190, it's looks amazing. I kind of use this is certain areas....so the area where you would put a nose pore strip is where i put this, and a little on my forehead and that's it. It looks like perfect smooth skin. LOVE! If you are undecided get a sample! They'll be more then happy!

Toners -Mario Badescu - Special Glycolic Cleansing Lotion
M1KEY 8/30/2012 4:06:00 PM
People are using this all wrong. Yes, it's marketed as a toner but this is NOT meant to be used everyday. Even if you have the oilest of OILY skin. This toner can practically replace any other form of exfoliation in your routine. I use this once a week and it keeps my skin in immaculate condition. I was liken this to Paula's choice WEEKLY resurfacing treatment. I agree the directions aren't clear from what I can remember. I know they say this is their most intense Glycolic acid toner meant for oily congested skin, but STILL this is NOT a product to be used daily. If used daily this will make your skin red, irritated and peeley! once a week though, it's amazing!

Moisturizers -Alpha Hydrox - Enhanced Lotion - 10% AHA
M1KEY 8/27/2012 4:14:00 PM
This product is legit AMAZING! I've always wanted to try this brand but we don't sell it anywhere in Canada as far as i know. I was so STOKED to see a slew of bottles at my local winners for $8.99, so I of course bought one. I can't use this every night but every other night is okay! If i overuse it I tend to get little flakies. I can buff them away with a textured towel but I'd rather not. This stuff takes my skin from good to PERFECT! I don't even need any foundation or powder but I still add a little bit of MUFE HD kind of through the center of my face and forehead and my skin looks unreal, but in a good way haha. After seeing the amazing results I RAN back to winner with little hope but was so happy to find 2 more bottles buried in the shelves. I jumped on them! The bottles are gonna last me a LONG time, so I'm happy to be stocked up! But yea, this stuff just totally agrees with my skin. Even with nothing on my face, just a cleansed face, it glows! My skin has a natural sheen to it! It's never looked healthier! LOVE!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (Pressed)
M1KEY 8/23/2012 2:42:00 PM
This stuff if HG to me! It's amazing! I was always a fan of the loose version of this, so when I heard a pressed one was coming out I was so happy! In term of the difference this makes, I feel this is the only powder in this form that actually makes a difference to the way my skin looks! I like this better than the Make up Forever HD powder. I use the MUFE HD Foundation and set it with this, Also after about 6 hours I can tend to look a little shiny with the MUFE Foundation so I keep this powder with me at all times and do a quick dusting after about 6 hours. Usually once a day and it's just the best! Kett Cosmetics also do a pressed powder exactly like this, but the Mac one is way more accessible. I would use either one, they're both great! LOVE!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation
M1KEY 8/19/2012 10:10:00 PM
I actually realllly love this stuff! It's a shame it's getting such negative reviews, which makes me nervous it might not be around long. Believe it or not this is actually something I would stock up on. Package is cute, but it's hard to get a feel for the actual color. Online swatch browsing is a must i think. Also the shades don't go that light or that dark. I'm about an NW 25 and was shocked to see that the 2nd lightest shade matched me perfect which means the very fair people won't find a good match in this. It'll be too dark, thus looking too "orange" Price is okay, here in Canada it's cheapest at Wal-Mart but it's still $12.96. I would much rather pay the $8.00 something in the states, but oh well! I feel like if you have pretty good skin, this is all anyone would need. I don't have many blemishes at all and the tone of my skin, I'm pretty happy with it. I basically want anything I put on my face to even anything out, add some color and give me a glow, which this does all so well! It feels like nothing on the skin which is awesome, and the finish is just lovely! I mean when it comes down to it this is a sheer to light-medium coverage at most. You can't buy this expecting miracles and then bash it for not making you look flawless, that's just ridiculous. Just look at the package: "NUDE perfect finish" To sum up, If you have nice skin, and a good routine going this stuff is awesome! It just makes nice skin look perfect!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
M1KEY 6/22/2011 3:31:00 PM
This foundation is most definitley up there in terms of quality with other drugstore foundation and even with some high end ones. In a short sentence i would sum up this foundation by saying it's like a watered down version of revlon colorstay with a gorgeous pearlescent sheen running though it. Exactly the same as the now discontinued Mac Hyper real foundation and permanent mineralize satinfinish foundation (which is actually a lot more metallic on the skin then this) and very, VERY, VERY similiar to Chanel Pro Lumiere. Revlon is actually way longer lasting but the idea and effect is the same. First off; this is EXTREMELY long lasting for something that everyone claimed to have a glowey finish, which leads me to say this is a water downed version of colorstay. I noticed when I washed my face, splashed water on it and rubbed a lot and looked in the mirror the foundation was still there and the water almost beaded off my face. I was like whoaaa~ it came off with my clarisonic no problem, but with warm water and rubbing it was still , good looking actually! Impressed. Awesome finish and formula; It's the pearlescent sheen in this that gives it dimension and i would rather that then an actually moisturizing formula, which just don't usually last. Maybelline fit me for an example has an actual moisturizing formula but it doesn't last It has an interesting texture i found a traditional 190 or flat foundation applied it best. It's medium thickness blends easily but it really has an interesting tug to it, which again i think has to do with the long lasting power. If anyone applies this with a Mac 190 or something like I'm sure u know what i mean when i say it has an interesting tug to it. Exactly like Pro Lumiere in everywway, except for the fact that it lasts wayyyy longer and it's a fraction of the price. in Canada tho it's still pretty pricey $13-19 depending where u get it. I don't even need to set this and it doesn't move. It's also one of those foundations that wear better then longer u have it on. Kind of like the pro longwear. When applied i feel like the Mac pro longwear looks heavy, but after a few hours it looks great and really sets into the skin. Photoready looks amazing from the start for it actually looks better the longer it's been on also which is a plus. I never have to worry about it looking worse, in fact i look forward to the longer look of the foundation. Also IMPORTANT; This is the only foundation i've ever worn that actually covered the texture of a raised blemish. i was AMAZED. Usually foundation can yea, sure cover a blemish but this actually made it look like it wasn't even there. It also dried the blemish out and it was almost GONE when i removed the foundation. WEIRD! but awesome! Dry people, moisturize and try applying with a traditional foundation brush. I'm oily and the only thing i wear under this is Mac Strobe cream and sometimes Origins Vitazing. omg this is so long! hope this helped some people!

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
M1KEY 11/9/2010 1:27:00 PM
There isn't anything I don't love about this Foundation. Okay, well maybe one. Sometimes I think the citrus-y smell irritates my eyes. If you have good skin this is amazing for you! It just looks like your skin, but perfected! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I love that this leaves a nice glaze to the skin, without containing any shimmer particles of anything of the sorts. you get so much for your money also. It's perfect for photos and everyday, although when I want my skin to make a statement I reach for the Graftobian HD cream foundation. Another AMAZING foundation! xox

Crème -MAC - Studio Tech
M1KEY 7/11/2010 10:39:00 AM
This foundation is OFF the CHAIN !!! It's 1 of 3 foundations that I only use and rotate between !! Creamy, compact, variations on coverage depending on how much you apply and the finish is just CRISP, CLEAN AND FLAWLESS !!! Seriously, the finish and texture is quite skin-like although it's easy to see you're wearing make up. not because it's thick of cakey but because of the coverage and finish it gives your skin. No one in real life has skin like studio tech gives you- i JUST LOVE IT !! Even on my Oily skin i have NO problems with it - only MINOR creasing begins after 11 hours of wear. but that's 11 hours! TRY IT OUT ! quite pricey and i tend to go thru a compact on regular use withing 2-2.5 months. I wish we got more product for the price!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
M1KEY 7/11/2010 10:26:00 AM
I have really been enjoying this new Primer from L'oreal. I've had my eye on this ever since some of my first U.K. subscriptions on youtube started "Haulin'" this and it has FINALLY made it's way over to Canada in the past month- The product itself is VERY nice and of High end quality. I actually went out yesterday only wearing this, no foundation and a tiny bit of powder to highlight and contour and my face looked quite NICE !! I found myself using less foundation in general when i did since any product tends to glide and spread very nicely over this product. However not EVERY foundation will wear great with this product; it's quite trial and error. I really enjoy using this and I feel like it definitely makes a difference . It feels great to apply and feels great on the skin. Some people hate it, but i just love the little jar packaging ! very sleek IMO. QUITE expensive- i know in Canadian Drug stores (comparable to walgreens, CVS, rite aid) our version of this store is called "Shoppers drug mart" and it was 16.99 !!! in wal-mart however it was 12.96. I would pay 12.96 again for sure !! since this product is new they have stands with testers ! why not take a little jar and take some to try first ! just an idea for anyone on the fence ! Happy PRIMING ;)

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
M1KEY 5/12/2010 8:57:00 PM
This concealer is amazing !! I know some people don't like this for under eye circles however for me this covers my under eyes like NONE other and looks good ! For blemishes it's amazing too. I also own the Make up forever Full cover and although i would LOVE to say that is my favorite I would not repurchase it again. The coverage that studio finish gives is just OPAQUE ! My FAVORITE !
