Polishes -OPI - Do You Lilac It?
Lulle 8/30/2008 6:12:00 AM
This is a lovely light lilac shade, not too bright, but not dull at all. It applies smoothly, although I need 3 coats for a perfect opaque look. The AMAZING thing for me is how long it stays on my nails looking fresh : 1 WHOLE WEEK with NO chipping at all ! It's the 1st time ever I can keep my manicure that long ! I have some Bourjois polishes that will chip after 12 hours... Not the same quality obviously !

Moisturizers -LUSH - Imperialis
Lulle 6/16/2008 12:21:00 PM
First this product just smells BAD. When you look at the ingredients list, you hope it'll have a nice flowery scent, but no, it's just an awfull smell of rotten vegetables. After application, it left my face sticky, but not sufficiently moisturized. And, I had a HORRIBLE breakout after a couple of days. NO product ever made me breakout like this, I had HUGE painfull red spots all over my face, and it took MONTHS to get rid of the scars. Thanks Lush, great !!! Back to my Clarins skincare !

Eye Shadow -NARS - Strada
Lulle 2/4/2008 10:14:00 AM
My congratulations to Nars for the crappiest eyeshadow ever made ! I hope noone will try to break the record. This shadows looks gorgeous in the pan, but : - it is IMPOSSIBLE to blend, I tried all possible ways (with my finger, with about 5 different types of good quality brushes, like Bobby Brown eye shader, with or without base etc...), the result is always a mess. Some parts of the lid are very dark, on others you can't even see the colour I used. Don't tell me it's my fault, I am able to use all the other shadows I own without this kind of problems. - the colour on the lid is not a shimmery lilac, but a mudy, ashy, dull lavender. I just CAN'T use it, and it makes me really angry, because it's a very expensive product....

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Color
Lulle 1/7/2008 11:56:00 AM
Everybody told me that Rouge Allure were THE best lipsticks in the world, so I was very eager to get one. Here I come in the dutryfree shop in the airport, feeling the thrill only fellow makeup addicts can imagine. First, big disappointment : the colours are very dull and old fashioned. The red shades were quite appealing, but I resisted choosing one of them because I already have red lipsticks I love, and I knew I would hardly ever use it. Stubbornly, I had a look at every other shade to find one I would like. Hard work. They don't even have a wearable brown (think about Lancome Color Fever colour range....). With the help of a salesperson, I got a brownish mauvish pink, Silhouette (I'll write a review for it soon), not very convinced but I thought the product quality would make me love it anyway. Wrong : the texture is far less creamy than other lipsticks I own (Like Rouge Dior), and it doesn't apply as smoothly. It does stay on quite long, but it SO dries out my lips that I wish it would fade away sooner !!! Now what about the packaging ? It's original, the clicking thing is funny, but when it's closed, all you have is a black, rectangular plastic tube. Blah. Provided the price is close to obscene, I'd say it's the worst purchase I've ever made for a lip product. And I really don't understand why everyone finds it so elegant and great....

Lip Gloss -Guerlain - KissKiss Laque- Chocolat Show
Lulle 1/2/2008 6:27:00 AM
The packaging is really great, chic without being too much. There are lots of products with the same kind of design (colour in the middle of a transparent rectangular plastic case, like Dior glosses) but this one is the nicest for me. If you're looking for a gloss, you've got the wrong product. This is really a lacquer, i.e. a fluid lipstick. I mean that it isn't sheer AT ALL, the colour is very intense, and covers your lip natural shade completely. It has a faint shimmer in it but you can't really see it on the lips, though it is very shiny, but more like sugar syrup. The texture is thick and creamy, and I don't find it sticky at all. It is very long lasting on me, even after drinking/eating, the colour is still visible, although not shiny any more, and it does NOT dry out my lips. This shade is a reddish brown, very flattering for me (fair skin and green eyes), but quite sophisticated, so I prefer not to wear it during the day. There's only one thing I don't like about this product, its applicator. It's much too big, and it makes it hard to apply well on the corner of the lips. Using lipliner is necessary for a perfect result. Overall, I love this product, even if I don't use it very often. It's elegant, classy, comfortable, dramatic.

Lipstick -Lancome - Color Fever 216 Walk the Catwalk Brown
Lulle 12/31/2007 11:34:00 AM
I love this colour, it is just one tone darker than the natural colour of my lips, but neutral. I would say it's a neutral pinky brown, tending to mauve. It's a very pretty nude shade for me. I like the package, it's classy and modern. The texture is also creamy and easy to apply, but I feel like after a while, it makes my lips a little dry.

Palettes -Too Faced - Quickie Chronicles - The Sex Kitten
Lulle 12/31/2007 11:28:00 AM
This palette is perfect for someone with green eyes and a fair complexion. The lavender eyeshadow is a great highlighter, and the lime green and purple shadows, although not as pigmented, look great together. I usually wear the green on 2/3 of the upper lid, the purple one on the last third on the outer corner, and the highlighter under the brows and in the inner corner. It looks sophisticated without being too much, and, as I said before, it really makes green eye colour stand out. The blush is highly pigmented, and matte on my skin although it looks slightly shimmered in the palette. The glosses are wearable and long lasting. In fact, the glosses from the Quickies are my favourites !

Palettes -Too Faced - Quickie Chronicles - The Heartbreaker
Lulle 12/31/2007 11:13:00 AM
This palette is very pretty, the shadows are easy to blend, the blush is well pigmented, and the glosses are long lasting without being too sticky. The old-fashionned picture and the naughty story on the book covers are funny and make this product very original. Well that's what you could say about any Quickie Chronicle. But this one was a REVELATION to me : peach is MY blush colour !! I had never dared peachy, coral or warm pink blush shades before, don't ask me why ! I tried this blush and WOW : it gives me that look we're all looking for, healthy and radiant without looking made up. I've tried a lot of other blushes after that, including Nars and Bobbi Brown products, and none of them could compete. The shadows are light, so they're easy to wear on day time, and the gloss shades are very pretty too. The only negative thing I can think about is that the lip brush and shadow applicators are real cr*p... But who uses them anyway ?

Eye Shadow -MAC - Club Eye Shadow
Lulle 12/20/2007 8:17:00 AM
Very pretty colour, a deep warm green with reddish undertones, it's wonderful to look at in the pot. I can only get the look I want by applying it with my fingertips. Each time I tried a brush, it looked too brownish and the green faded away ! I prefer to use it on its own on the entire upper lid for a dramatic mysterious eye.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tilt
Lulle 12/20/2007 8:07:00 AM
Supposedly a duochrome, and indeed a very nice shimmery light blue with green tones in the pot, but just a plain medium blue on my lids. I'm very disappointed. I can only get a nice look from it when I use it wet with a VERY light hand, then I get a sheer aquatic colour.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Trax
Lulle 12/20/2007 6:52:00 AM
It looks wonderful in the pot... but when you try to apply it, ew ! It's just a dirty medium plum and the glitters fly away in a second (in the crease, in my lashes, under the eyes...). Applied wet, it tuns into a bronze/golden strange thing. Very disappointing, there's no way you can get the colour you loved in the pot, and crappy quality. I think I'm unlucky cause all the Mac shadows I tried were disappointing. I don't really understand this widespread addiction.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Clementine
Lulle 12/20/2007 5:15:00 AM
They should've called this shade grapefruit rather than clementine, because it's more a coral, peachy colour than orange. It's highly pigmented, I just swip my brush on it ONCE, otherwise it gets too intense. Quite different from Nars Orgasm that I have to layer again and again to get a visible flush... I like to have a natural healthy look, and this is exactly what I get with this lovely matte colour. It works great on pale redness prone complexion like mine : it's a yellow based shade so it kind of neutralizes red. The only thing I dislike is the packaging, this cover you have to screw, no mirror... Nars's case is more handy and elegant. I love it and would buy again if I could finish it !

Polishes -OPI - Vodka & Caviar
Lulle 12/15/2007 5:37:00 AM
Very pretty shiny red with 2 coats. With just one coat, you get a bright fuschia, but it's a little transparent. The formula is just perfect, it applies very smoothly and easily, even for un-talented users like me :) I like to have vamp red colours when I wear grey/black clothes, it gives a hint of colour.

Powder -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Compact
Lulle 11/27/2007 12:14:00 PM
This is my very first compact foundation, I bought it because I heard lots of positive comments when it was released. First, I like the blue case, it has a large mirror and a separate compartment for the sponge, which means, no mess. It is also VERY fast and easy to use. Just after I apply it, my skin looks very nice, silky and natural, pores look smaller, redness and discolouration disappear, with a matte finish. Too bad it doesn't last long. After just a couple of hours, it starts to get dewy, and terribly oily on my T-zone (although I use a matifying base AND Mac blot powder over it).In the begining of the afternoon, it's just gone, I look as if I didn't use any foundation ! Disappointing !

Dark brown with a subtle golden shimmer. It has a dark pink/purple base, which I didn't expect. 3 layers may be necessary for a perfect opaque finish.
