Shampoo -Shu Uemura - Prime Plenish
LucySnow 2/21/2012 2:30:00 PM
Wow! This is the most expensive shampoo I've ever purchased but unlike some other high-end shampoos I've tried, this does not disappoint. It has an extremely rich, creamy lather and a wonderful scent in the shower. This is the first shampoo I've ever used that did not require conditioner after. It is amazing on my dry, frizzy, medium-fine, colored hair. Not only does it moisturize and tame my difficult locks, but my hair still has some bounce and volume after air drying and flat ironing. Unless your hair is extremely dry, coarse or damaged you will need very little conditioner with this and just a small amount of serum or other styling product. The bottle should last a few months. So far, I'm very impressed.

Shampoo -L'Occitane - Shampoo with Shea Butter

Good product, but not fantastic. Sulfate-free and lightly scented, this shampoo lathered and cleaned well without stripping away moisture. I used up my bottle but won't repurchase.

Shampoo -Klorane - Soothing Shampoo with Peony Extract for Irritated Itchy Scalps
LucySnow 2/21/2012 2:21:00 PM
This is a heady-scented gentle and moisturizing shampoo. It worked great on my dry, frizzy hair and the peony scent is gorgeous. I barely need conditioner after this. Unfortunately, it did nothing to soothe my scalp and maybe even made it more itchy. For that reason, I can only give it three lippies.

Styling Products -Kerastase - CRÈME OLÉO-RELAX SLIM CRÈME OLÉO-RELAX SLIM

Best leave-in conditioner ever for moisture and frizz control. Now that my hair is shorter I don't need a leave-in most days, but when my hair was long, this was an absolute life saver for me. ♥

Hair -Kerastase - Ciment Anti-Usure
LucySnow 2/21/2012 2:13:00 PM
This thin, light conditioner works surprisingly well on my dry, colored, medium-fine hair. Seemed to add the right amount of moisture with no heaviness. Would repurchase.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain de Force
LucySnow 2/21/2012 2:11:00 PM
Lovely, gentle shampo. Worked great on my dry, medium-fine, colored hair followed up with Ciment Anti-Usure for a condish and Ciment Thermique for styling. My favorite Kérastase shampoo.

Loved this styling lotion as a heat protectant before flat ironing and found that it also keeps the frizz at bay. Has a light citrus scent and worked better on my medium-fine, dry, colored hair than Nectar Thermique. Would repurchase.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten Flat Iron Balm and Gloss Finish
LucySnow 3/25/2011 10:59:00 AM
I always keep a bottle of this on standby to use before flatironing: a) when I occasionally use cone-free styling products like Living Proof No-Frizz or Phytodefrisant; and b) on second-day hair that needs a touch-up with the iron. In case a) I use it just for protection and in case b) I find that it conditions my ends and restores some gloss and shine. It's a good product for drugstore, cheap and effective.

Moisturizers -Lancome - Absolue Precious Cells Jour
LucySnow 3/24/2011 1:59:00 PM
Don't believe the hype. There's nothing special about this moisturizer. Any $30 moisturizer from the drugstore is as good. Has an 'old lady' smell too. Never again!

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Super Rich Conditioner
LucySnow 3/24/2011 1:45:00 PM
Totally underwhelmed by this conditioner. It detangles well and probably moisturizes as good as your basic drugstore conditioner, but that's about it. Not worth the price. My colored, dry, frizz-prone, regularly flatironed hair needs more.

Treatments -Lancome - Genifique
LucySnow 3/24/2011 11:33:00 AM
I first tried this serum when I got a sample in a GWP. I liked it enough to buy the full size, which I've been using daily for the last year. In the beginning, I saw a difference - especially around my eyes. But over time, I haven't seen any additional improvement. It glides on really nice and probably provides some extra moisture under my regular moisturizer (maybe it works primarily as a line filler?), but in the end I just don't think it's worth the big bucks. If you're looking for a miracle, this isn't it.

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Starry-Eyed Baked Trio in Star Studded
LucySnow 3/24/2011 11:28:00 AM
The olive green in this trio is perfect for my hazel eyes and all three shades work well with my fair complexion. I usually can't wear frosted shadows anymore (over 40, crepey lids) but the glimmer in these baked shadows is just right. I can even wear to work in a fairly staid and conservative environment. LORAC shadows are the best I've ever tried. The color goes on smoothly, doesn't flake or crease, and lasts all day. Love ♥

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
LucySnow 3/24/2011 10:22:00 AM
After using this product regularly for a couple of years, I decided to delete my original review and take a second crack at this. I've gone through two bottles of this oil-serum and fully intend to buy it again when the need arises. I like this product for its conditioning properties and the shine that it adds to my hair. It also works as a heat protectant and it has a unique, subtle scent. In my experience, it works best applied to damp hair before styling, but you can also add a few small drops to styled hair to smooth and finish. I like Moroccan Oil best in cold and/or very dry weather. It keeps the static away and prevents dryness. It does not, unfortunately, work terrifically well at fending off damp or humidity. My hair will frizz using this, so I can't give it five lippies. Still a great product though.

Lip Gloss -LORAC - Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick Vintage
LucySnow 3/23/2011 3:26:00 PM
Love this on its own or layered over regular lipstick for added shine. It is not sticky, the color is a true nude and it adds a natural shine. Many glosses simply do not suit my over-40 complexion, but this one by LORAC is perfect for me. Note that it has quite a strong, sweet scent that might bother some, but I don't mind. This lipstick also moisturizes the lips, which is a rare and added bonus!

Styling Products -Shu Uemura - Silk Mesh
LucySnow 3/23/2011 3:14:00 PM
Another great find courtesy of the hair board, I can't live without this product. I use it on my bangs, flyaways and any wispy bits for hold and definition. Unlike every other putty or pomade I've tried, this one does not make my bangs greasy. It is lightly fragranced (a bit like melon) but the scent does not linger after application. Extremely pricey at $40 for a tiny tub, but it's lasted almost a year with daily use. Definitely recommend and will repurchase.
