I have been searching and searching and searching for the right tinted moisturizer for me and this one is great!! So many people "complain" that moisturizers they are trying are too greasy, but most of the ones I've tried are too drying (Becca, Bobbi Brown.... although I like the Balm, Vincent Longo, Cosmedicine, etc....). This formula is rich, but I didn't find it greasy. I put a little on my fingers, blend together and apply to face. I love the sheerness, "color", and SPF!! I also like La Mer tint (use in the evenings and has SPF 18) and Dr. Hauschka.... but that doesn't have SPF in it. I'm glad I ran into BeneFit now being sold at Macy's!!
Tinted Moisturizer -Vincent Longo - Light Canvas Tinted Moisturizer
Lspet5 7/10/2007 12:58:00 PM
I don't want to bring down the ratings, but I didn't find this tinted moisturizer to provide any moisture at all...... and I have oily/normal skin!! It actually caked on and flaked right away??? I only use tinted moisturizers because of the sheerness of them and I'd say this is more of a medium coverage. I think it would be a good product for someone looking for more of a "made-up" look. Sent back to Sephora =(
Treatments -Boots - No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum
Lspet5 6/26/2007 9:45:00 AM
I rushed out and bought some of this after seeing it's "sister producet" raved about on the Today Show. It's not a bad product, I just don't think it's good for my skin type. I tend to break out (one here and there). After using this product for about one week, I have four zits that appeared around my chin. I was focusing this product around my mouth folds because that's were my wrinkles are starting (I'm 33). I'm not 100% this product caused my breakouts because the heat tends to do that to me, although I've never gotten four zits in a row!! I'm not going to be using this anymore, but it did make my face feel really smooth. I just think my skin "can't breath" with this.
Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 40% Glycolic Peel
Lspet5 8/3/2006 10:14:00 AM
I have found in the past that Glycolic Acid works the best on my face for getting rid of bumps that form along my jawline. They aren't exactly acne, but they are hard to get rid of. I've been using DDF 10% Glycolic Gel every evening and this has taken care of the bumps. I wanted to try a more intense treatment of glycolic acid to even out my skin tone. After reading these reviews, I tried this peel. I ordered online, after calling for some advice on what level to use and to make sure it was OK to continue with my 10% gel at night. My peel kit (I ordered the sample kit which will be 10-15 peels for $20) arrived within 2 days of placing my order. I used it right away. It came with very detailed instructions and I left my first peel on for 1-2 mins. It tingled, but didn't burn. My skin felt great right away, but when I woke up the next morning, it was even better! I'm really excitied about this product! I've only used once so far, but will continue to use this product and then possibly upgrade the strength or switch to a more intense peel. My skin is alittle pink, but a healthy pink. If you are thinking about using their products vs. spending hundreds on a salon visit, I would recommend calling for a consult to see what would work best for you. Good luck!
Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Bronzer/Blush Compact Duo [DISCONTINUED]
Lspet5 5/21/2006 12:29:00 AM
I love Bobbi Brown and am pretty well stocked on all blush colors for all seasons. I was looking for a new bronzer since my old Bobbi Brown is getting low. I checked out the reviews here and didn't even know about this duo compact. I rushed out to Marshall Field's and was going to purchase the compact with the soft pink blush in it, because the apricot blush in the other compact "scared" me. I have an olive skin tone and after trying on the "darker" bronzer, with the apricot, I knew I found my match. Very happy with my purchase! Don't let the colors scare you, they are beautiful on!
Skincare - Face -DDF - Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Oil Control Gel
Lspet5 3/12/2006 9:41:00 AM
Where to start? I am a product junkie... not because I want to be, but because my skin erupted with adult acne over the past year or so. (32 yrs. old). So, my quest has been to find an "acne" product to help with these strange bumps that erupted along my jawline and chin. I tried several creams prescribed by my derm., but nothing really cleared me up or prevented new bumps from forming. The worst was around "the time of the month," where I'd always get a couple of severe pimples. I FINALLY have my routine down that actually works for me! I cleanse nightly with Mario Badescu's glycolic foaming cleanser and then I use DDF's Glycolic Gel. I can honestly say that in the 2 months I've been using this I had one tiny-tiny pimple that lasted one day. This works for me! I guess the glycolic acid is best for the kind of problems I was having. I'm so happy that I don't have to hide my face anymore! I recently found this available and bathandbodyworks.com and bought some more because I was afraid of running out. That's the only con; you can't see how much product is left. I hope they never stop making this because it's really helped my skin be the best that it can be!
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Lspet5 1/16/2006 8:21:00 PM
Best lip treatment for under $2.00!! I've tried all the expensive ones and this one is the best!! I live in Michigan and have very harsh winters. This helps my dry, cracked lips and doesn't leave them sticky or thick. I wear this under lipstick, lip gloss, etc.. And I only need to reapply twice a day. I also like Origins lipbalm, but Aquaphor is better and cheaper!
I am usually unable to wear "nudes" because I have olive skin (really tan now) and bright pink pigmented lips. This color is really beautiful. I'm not thrilled with it as a summer color for me (although it still looks good), I just prefer more color for the summer. This will be my fall/winter lipstick and I am glad I discovered these because I don't like glosses (too sticky to kiss my kids)or "long wearing" lip/gloss combos (dry out my lips too bad). These are just perfect and can't wait to purchase more!!
Lipstick -Vincent Longo - SPF 15 Lip Stain in Genasei
Lspet5 7/26/2005 10:55:00 AM
This is such a pretty color...... raspberry/darker pink. I need to wear dark pink versus a light pink because I look "pale" in light pink (my lips are naturally bright pink). I just love this color because it's SO pretty and natural. Stains to a pink that's just a little more "umph" to my natural coloring. I actually got this off ebay because there's no Sephora near me and I'm afraid to spend $$ on products I can't try on. Beautiful color!!
Lotions/ Creams -Origins - A Perfect World Body Lotion
Lspet5 7/18/2005 5:48:00 PM
I live in Michigan where we have extreme cold and extreme heat and humidity. I really like this lotion because it hydrates well in the winter and soothes my skin in the summer. I'm not thrilled about the price though. I haven't found many other lotions that aren't sticky that hydrate this well. Since I use this lotion a lot, I don't know if I'll repurchase my 3rd bottle unless I get a coupon from Origins. I really can't find anything that compares though. The scent doesn't bother me.... it fades rather quickly.
I have tried so many lip balms for my dry lips. I've spent $1.00 to $12 on different single lip balms. This one is the best and it's fairly inexpensive! I bought two for myself (one for home and one for the purse) and also added them to my families Xmas gifts last year. They love them too! It doesn't cure my dry lips, but I only need to apply once or twice a day. I also wear this under my lipsticks and stains and holds really nice! Will repurchase again and again!!
I like this color, but is a bit "dull" on my pigmented lips. The color blends in really naturally and I think this will be a great color on me in the fall and winter. I am going to try the pink color for the summer/spring. Nice staying power and I usually wear my Origins lip balm underneath.
I have long searched for a peachy-brown lipgloss that looks good on my naturally bright pink lips. This is the only one that I have found that works for me. I love it!! It's my spring, summer color. I use it day and night and makes my lips feel good too. I also like Bobbi Brown colors on my lips! This is the only MAC gloss that works well with my desired, natural look.
Skincare - Face -Mario Badescu - Cucumber Tonic Mask
Lspet5 7/5/2005 2:11:00 PM
I can't believe no one has reviewed this product yet! I have combo skin and was recommended this product from MarioBadescu.com. Love, love, love it like all the other products I use from this line. I use it about 3 times a night and on the other nights I use the gygloric cleansing soap. Using them together would dry me out. This mask has really helped balance out my combo skin and in use with the other products is helping with my seldom breakouts and large pores. Thanks MB!!
Moisturizers -Caudalie - Vinopure Matte Moisturizing Fluid
Lspet5 7/5/2005 2:08:00 PM
I really like this product, but my husband loves it more. He has real sensative skin and can't use many products. This works well for both of us and it's nice to have a product to share. It's expensive though and he continues to use this brand only!
