Eye Shadow -MAC - Blackberry Eyeshadow
rated 3 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 7/22/2011 4:21:00 PM

This shade looks gorgeous in the pot, but it isn't very pigmented. I have to use so much product, and then it's hard to blend. Blackberry is a nice shade if you want a very muted purple hue to your look, but it's not the right shade if you want obvious color. I'd recommend something like Sketch if you want more pigmentation and berry tones.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers in Shimmering Onyx
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 7/13/2011 3:33:00 PM

I don't usually wear drugstore eyeshadow, but I got this free with my favorite mascara, CoverGirl's Lash Blast Volume Waterproof. Shimmering Onyx is a great product to use as a subtle eyeliner. It's not an intense black, and I think that makes it perfect as a wearable eyeliner. If you want an intense eyeliner look with this, you could use it with a wet brush to create that effect. It's very versatile and very cheap, so I definitely recommend it for that purpose. I haven't tried this as a crease eyeshadow or anything though, because I like more neutral looks. This would add a lot of depth and drama though if you wanted to wear it as a night time look.

Hair Removal -Sally Hansen - Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit for Face, Brown & Bikini
rated 1 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/29/2011 2:17:00 PM

This product is terrible! I followed all the instructions, including the one that requires hair grown out for about 21 days. So I tried this out after waiting, and it not only was it quite painful, but didn't even remove a noticeable amount of hair. After you use the wax strip, it leaves all of the sticky wax residue on your skin, which is really difficult to remove. I also noticed that it broke me out in painful red blotches. Not repurchasing this ever again, and I'll be returning it.

Moisturizers -MAC - Oil Control Lotion
rated 1 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/29/2011 2:13:00 PM

This product did not make any difference in my very oily skin. I liked the texture and smell, but my skin would still get shiny within a couple of hours of applying this. MAC's Oil Control Lotion was just another product layered onto my skin, but it didn't do anything. This is an unnecessary product, not to mention the high price. EDIT: This product made me break out, and the smell stayed on my fingers even after numerous washes. It also made my oily skin oilier.

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/28/2011 3:33:00 PM

This product is expensive considering that it's almost $30 for not even 1 oz. of product. I won't really know exactly how well this works until probably ten years from now, when the first signs of aging usually show. For now, this product is just okay for me. I like that it is specially made for the eye area, so you know your not harming yourself. It doesn't add extra shine or unnecessary odors, and the packaging make it really easy to get the right amount of product out without wasting any.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/28/2011 3:27:00 PM

I like that this product provides sun protection along with skin benefits. It does however leave a bit of a white cast, but slighter than other sunscreens, and also has that sunscreen scent. I like that this doesn't add extra shine though, since I have very oily skin. This product doesn't help control oil though, but I don't find that as a downside because it really wasnt meant to do that to begin with. I bought the travel sized one for $19.50 for 1.2 oz., but I feel like either packaging is still a little expensive. I'm willing to pay a little more for skin care products if they actually work though, so I will repurchase once I run out.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/18/2011 5:20:00 PM

I really wanted to love this liner but I just can't seem to get it to work. It smudges within four hours for me, and the formula is kind of dry so I have to drag it onto my lashline, but it gives off a pencil effect. Some people can pull this off amazingly, but i guess not me.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/18/2011 5:09:00 PM

This mascara is amazing! CoverGirl's LashBlast Volume mascara holds curl amazingly, and really does resist smudging. I love that you can get this for about $5.50 at Target, compared to my crappy Too Faced Lash Injection which was $21. LashBlast gives my lashes more of a dramatic look, but still keeps it natural and suitable for everyday wear. I will keep repurchasing!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
rated 5 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/4/2011 11:57:00 PM

I first started to look for this shade as a highlight after watching Amarixe's eyeshadow tutorials. I know she uses Dazzlelight, but I felt like that shade had a little too much pink reflects for my liking. After I returned my Naked Palette, I realized that the lightest shade in the palette was really the only eyeshadow I was really using out of it, so that was another reason I bought this too. It's almost an exact dupe! Shroom is a great addition to my MAC eyeshadow palette.

Eye Shadow -MAC - All That Glitters
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 6/4/2011 11:34:00 PM

I actually don't like this eyeshadow. It's a very nice shimmery natural shade, but I just don't prefer the pink undertone, even though it's not very noticeable. I have another MAC eyeshadow that serves the same purpose of this one though, so I just exchanged All That Glitters for Shroom. If your looking for an all over shimmery wash, then I'd recommend this eyeshadow. Otherwise, it's a very standard eyeshadow and you'll be able to find a similar shade anywhere in a range from drugstore to luxury ends.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
rated 5 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 5/29/2011 10:50:00 PM

I love using Laguna for contour! I was afraid of this bronzer because I wasn't looking for a shimmery product since my skin is very oily, but you can't noticed any shimmer/glitter once this product is applied. It is nicely pigmented, but not overly pigmented so you'll be able to layer up product to get the desired dramatic effect if you're contouring. This also gives a very nice glowy finish if you apply it in the three formation. The only problem I had was the price, but it's worth it! OH! The packaging is also very simple and sleek. A lot of people complain about the smooth texture of the packaging attracting pouder and causing it to stick, but it can easily be removed by the swipe of a paper towel. I also love that it has a very large, clear mirror built in.

BB Cream -Dr. Jart+ - Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25 PA++
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 5/29/2011 10:42:00 PM

I initially bought this because It's one of the first BB creams (Blemish/Beauty Balm) that was released in stores in the U.S. This BB cream claims that you don't need concealer when you wear this, but I personally had to wear concealer to cover up my acne scars and a little bit of redness. This seems light when first applied, but after about twenty minutes then it oxidizes with your skin to match your skin shade. It's unfortunate that it's being sold for $32 in Sephora, which is expensive considering how cheap BB creams are in Asia. BB creams are also supposed to have many skin benefits and usually have whitening properties in them, but the ones sold at Sephora from Dr. Jart+ didn't specify them. I like this BB cream because it's pretty much like a tinted moisturizer for me, but it helps control my very oily skin and has a nice smooth texture. It seems a bit sticky at first and the formula is very thick, but it doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts. Dr. Jart+ is a Korean brand, and this BB Cream's packaging was repackaged for sales in the U.S. I know most people living in America prefer more tanned, bronzed, and glowy skin, so I'm not sure If Dr. jart+'s would be for you. I know that some of the really famous brands in the U.S. such as MAC and Clinique will be coming out with BB Creams of their own within the next year or two, and Boscia already has, so those that aren't looking for certain skin properties might want to check those out.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
rated 4 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 5/5/2011 6:50:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE this blot powder! I use it almost daily and I'd definitely repurchase once I run out. I use this under my MSFN and it keeps my face matte for about five hours if i'm not doing anything too active. I have VERY oily skin though, so I think I apply this more frequently than the average person. I recommend this to anyone with combination/oily skin to help keep the shine away. I bought this about four months ago and I've worn it about twice a week, but this past month I've worn it every day. I've started to make a dent in it but I haven't hit pan, so I've say it lasts a long time even if you reapply it a couple times a day like I do. I've tried another blot powder but It was by Mark. Cosmetics. I like this MAC one much more people it gives my skin an even texture and slightly evens out minor discoloration.

Treatments (Eye) -Mario Badescu - Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 5/1/2011 4:35:00 PM

Mario Badescu's Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream is perfect for anyone looking for a good everyday eye cream. I initially bought this because I was interested in something that can intensely hydrate under eye skin all day long, and also prevent wrinkles and fine lines. I generously apply this eye cream at night for intense overnight moisture, and I also apply this in the mornings. This can be a bit thick for daily wear, so I take a small dab of this and mix it with an SPF moisturizer to dilute it. I found that wearing a lot of this with concealer on top will make the concealer appear different and blotchy, so mixing it with a moisturizing instead of wearing it by itself during the day helps. I noticed a slight improvement with my under eye circles/darkness after a few weeks of using this, but it wasn't a significant change. I recommend this to anyone looking for a very affordable high end eye cream.

Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
rated 5 of 5
LovesTheWay2Go 4/30/2011 1:51:00 PM

NARS's Albatross Highlighting Powder is a light, golden shimmered powder. I like to use this as a cheekbone highlight. This product is great for anyone that's looking for a nice subtle glow. I take a paddle brush and dab it once in this product, and it's able to pick up a lot of product, so this blush/highlight is really blendable. This product also makes an amazing inner corner and brow bone highlight! I recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality, versatile product that's great for enhancing features like cheekbones and brow bones.
