Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Ultra Defense SPF 50 with Avotriplex
Lovemygold2 5/9/2013 4:23:00 AM
This is absolutely brilliant...for me. Had I read some of the reviews on here I may have been put off. I picked up a 60 ml tube in a discount shop on a hope and a prayer that it would be a great alternative to my Japanese sunscreen, which I do love. Since the shipping cost went up I do not think I will buy it anymore, plus it cost more and is smaller in size. I am now going to search for a spray version in this brand, as I do need to hurry for work most days. Pro's: Nice light texture Non greasy Slightly mattifying Did not leave a white cast after rubbing in Smells nice Low cost & high protection

Polishes -Inglot - Nail Enamel
Lovemygold2 3/16/2013 10:29:00 AM
This is one of the worst brands of nail polishes I have purchased (and tried). I stupidly purchased 3 bottles, although 1 is topcoat and the other is one of their XL glitters. All which I will be putting up for swap after I finish this review. Pro's: beautiful color, dry's quick, does not smell too strong. Con's: chipped after 1 day, over priced. If this polish was cheaper I would not be so vex about the chipping, but at £8 a bottle I could have gotten a £2 cheap polish that behaves the same way. NEVER AGAIN...I suppose that is what I get for betraying OPI and CHANEL. I wish I read other reviews first (I am learning).

Liquid -Illamasqua - Rich Liquid foundation
Lovemygold2 2/27/2013 10:01:00 AM
I recently bought this foundation after seeing a few online tutorials of it being used by all women of different shades. I have started to think in terms of general product reviews. So I got a mixed reviews and decided to gamble...I won't say I am hugely disappointed because the product in general was good. The packaging is OK, considering the product is thick consistency. The price is what I would expect for this brand which is close to MAC pricing for the same amount. The way it went on was wonderful, never before have I experienced a quick drying foundation that I did not have to set with powder. It went on like a dream. I did not experience any blotchy patches. I used this after my Clarisonic Mia, toner, sunscreen and moisturiser, followed by primer. I did note that this foundation did seem to highlight a few of my blemishes. The real problem was the products color. What is described online as being neutral is actually warm tone. This foundation was so orange on me, to noticeable to be worn in public. I am on the neutral side with a hint of yellow in the under eye, cheek area. Sadly to say, I had to put this up for swap.

Mascara -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus
Lovemygold2 2/5/2013 4:18:00 PM
I am so glad I got this RIS because I had heard rave reviews about it and I could not find it in the UK and when I did find a place to buy it was quite pricey before the international postage was added. I tried it for the first time today after my Sana mascara appears to be drying out. This is the most beautiful fibre mascara I have ever tried. It is not sticky when I glide the brush through my lashes so I can apply a second layer without the lashes going all clumpy. It has no awful smell and most importantly it does not irritate my sensitive eyes. I like the brush, it is not made of bristles like most mascara wands. It makes wiping it in between uses easier. Some of you may say this is wasteful, but I always do both eyes and then wipe the wand before placing in back in the tube for sanitary reasons. I really want to get more of this, I wish they stocked it here. I plan to introduce my sister to this as I just know she will love it.

Lips -MAC - All Lipmix Products
Lovemygold2 2/2/2013 4:38:00 PM
I LOVE IT. I love the idea of mixing my own lipstick to suit me. Not only do I get what I want, I have a good time doing it. Lipmix works for me because A) I get bored quick and have never finished a tube of lipstick in my life B) I can squeeze out a small amount from the tube, make a color and once it is finished try something else. I currently have a RED, WHITE, GOLD, BURGUNDY & GLOSS. If you are considering on a purchase and are unsure of what to buy first I would recommend you buy a white, this will save you from wasting any other colors you have mixed, if you have made your mixture too dark. The gold gives a nice shimmer (frost) to any color I make. I made a nice wine color lipstick, a light plum and a shimmery red so far. When I don't want lipstick I add some of the gloss to turn it into a lipgloss. I most likely am going to buy a brown lipmix next to make my perfect shade of nude lipstick. I do not think I will ever have to purchase a lipstick again. The tubes will last a long time if stored correctly, the only off putting thing is the prices.

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Banana (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)
Lovemygold2 2/2/2013 4:26:00 PM
I bought this because of the hype...I know, I know (put's head down in shame). I don't normally do it but it just kept calling me and then click, click it was in my cart...seconds later it was paid for. I must say that I am new to setting powders, this is in fact my first. I have used Bare Mineral's foundation powder in the past. In comparison the textures of the Ben Nye is so fine, it almost feels like silk. It is very fine milled and I needed the tiniest amount to set my under eye concealer. I never realised up until a few months ago how dark underneath my eye's had become. Lot's of late shift's and poor sleep will do it. I really notice that this powder complements my skin, there is no grey ashy tone when I put this on. My under eye area now appears to be brighter and less cakey looking with the banana powder on. The only thing I am not to keen on is the container it comes in. I will have to decant this into something. Perhaps in future this will be made in a nice travel friendly pressed powder form.

Crème -Graftobian - High-Definition Glamour Color Creme Foundation
Lovemygold2 2/2/2013 4:15:00 PM
I wanted this to work so badly. I have such a hard time finding a foundation for my yellow undertoned skin. Mac tends to be too orange or red. I was using Lancome but due to their ever increasing prices I could no longer afford it. So went in search of a cheaper alternative (you know how it is ladies). I wanted this 1) good coverage for acne prone/scarred skin 2) reasonable price for my intended usage 3) something that would not upset my skin, causing more breakouts I am not too fussy. I am not that bothered about dewy or matte finish. I just want something that does not look to mask like. So when I came across this I was really excited. After watching countless YouTube video's I was very optimistic that this was it...the search was over ! I ordered a sample (good thinking) from an online retailer. I tried it right away, the shade was brilliant and the coverage fantastic. Now for the downer...it transfers really badly. So disappointed, I tried setting with powder and still no joy.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Juliette Has a Gun - Mad Madame
Lovemygold2 2/2/2013 4:01:00 PM
I am a bit undecided about this one. It does smell nice, but like all of the Juliette's it did not last long on my skin. Mad Madame was the third longest lasting out of the discovery kit I purchased. Someone one once asked me what perfume smelled like sex...I think I finally found it. It has to be this one. Something dark, dirty, feminine & will keep pulling you in to sniff some more. Slightly musky smelling with a hint of floral and a soft powder smell. Makes me slightly undecided about whether or not I like it. I may buy it in the future but for now I have purchased another from the brand,

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Juliette has a Gun - Vengeance Extreme
Lovemygold2 2/2/2013 3:53:00 PM
I got the 2ml sample in my discovery kit...boy am I glad I did that. This was sadly my least favourite scent. It started out with a punch and quickly left with a fizzle, much like a disappointing firework. I immediately had a sense of familiarity when I sniffed the dry down...I cringed... T.Mugler is exactly what this smelled like and Lady V smells more so than this one. That chocolate, slightly herbal heady scent knocked me back! So those 2 vials are certainly up for swap.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Juliette Has a Gun - Not A Perfume
Lovemygold2 1/28/2013 2:22:00 PM
I purchased the discovery kit from the official website in the hopes of finding a pleasant, classic and everyday fragrance. This one was a real disappointment for me for two reasons. One being that it lasted seconds on my skin, and the single note as some other reviewers have mentioned could be compared to hairspray. I certainly would not have been happy to receive or pay for a bottle of this perfume and the title certainly suits the products description...this most certainly is not what I would call a perfume. Had I tried this one first it would have easily put me off from trying the other fragrances in the line.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Kokuryudo - Hipitch Cleansing Oil
Lovemygold2 12/29/2012 1:08:00 PM
I am no stranger to cleansing oils. The very first one I purchased was MAC cleanse off oil which is still a favourite, then I upgraded to Shu U and then the recession hit and I found myself in a panic looking for an affordable alternative to take my make up off without stripping my acne prone skin. I want to be able to cleanse my skin of sunscreen, primer, foundation, mascara, eyeshadow and lipstick in one clean sweep ! (yes I ask for a lot when it comes to cleanser). I want a good sized bottle that will last me for several months and does not contain to many chemical nasties. Then after stumbling on a few Youtube videos about SASA hauls, I decided to look on the website & that is when I typed in cleansing oils. Several options came up, and after much reading I decided to order this, I don't think I can get this in UK and it is Japanese. It meets the top things I expect 1. price 2. size of bottle/amount of product 3. gets off mascara, make up & lip product 4. does not dry out skin 5. no film or oily residue left after rinsing off 6. not too thick 7. has a good pump action. It does what it says & contains natural oils as well as having a pleasant scent. Will I buy again HELL YEAH ! it cost less than £10

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
Lovemygold2 12/29/2012 12:45:00 PM
I have had my Mia for approx 2 months now, I did the 2nd charge this week.It is a very good size, fits well in my hands. The weight is reasonable, not to heavy. It is not to noisy, but it does make a vibrating sound which may have members of your household wondering ; ) I have not changed the brush head yet, but the instructions look easy. Now for the best bit... I have acne prone skin (hereditary), I have had prescription pills & cream, pixel laser, micro dermabrasion treatments and I must say this is the least painful, non-staining or bad tasting way to treat my skin. The Mia does not pull on my skin, I feel no sensitivity and no down time. Some people reported that they got spots after using the Mia, I can honestly say I got a few tiny ones and this must have been due to the build up of dead skin and my skins way of purging the blocked pores after the Mia exfoliated an area where my skin struggled to do so. I also suffer from noticable acne scars & hyper pigmentation which is fading. My make up is also now applying better than before which means the skincare products must be better absorbed as well now that the Mia has given me a cleaner, clearer face. I am so happy, money well spent.

Palettes -Unlisted Brand - yaby - freestyle palette
Lovemygold2 12/29/2012 12:27:00 PM
I really do like the palette. The size is perfect, in width it is slim and length not too long. The color is gloss white and this is okay but it does show all the dirt e.g. my foundation finger marks, eyeshadow dust smears etc. I will have to wipe this down frequently otherwise I will become irritated. The stainless steel was really shiny I mistook it for a mirror, I used it to mix my foundation on but when I wiped the mirror clean it appeared to lose it's original shine. I will try and buff this to see if it returns to how it was later. I plan on buying another for my sisters B-Day. I do however want the discontinued version with the slots in as I prefer sections because when I use my shadows they tend to move around a bit. I currently have several shadows, 1 blush, 1 concealer, 1 lip gloss & 1 brow color all YABY.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Yaby Cosmetics - Eyeshadows
Lovemygold2 12/29/2012 12:17:00 PM
I have purchased several eyeshadow refills for my Yaby freestyle palette. I just started using the eyeshadows, I tried them on Boxing Day and today. I must say that I am thrilled with them...especially the matte shades. I bought my eyeshadows in pairs e.g. matte + high shine in green shades etc. They apply like a dream, I used with fingers, cotton bud and a brush and the color is so pigmented that the application was great with all applications. They are tiny pans, but you do get what you pay for and I think I will end up using them all instead of getting bored & having loads left like I did with all my MAC shadows. I like the fact that they do not take up a great deal of space in my palette and there has been no fall out when I applied the high shine to my lids. If it is one thing I can not stand it is fall out ! I will be buying more of these. I wish there were more matte shades though.

Deodorants -Queen Helene - mint julep deodorant
Lovemygold2 12/29/2012 12:09:00 PM
I bought the mint deodorant on Amazon. I paid approx £5. This does not smell like real mint to me, I find the scent not very good and the actual product has made my underarms sore. I have used many different brands of deodorant some with aluminium, parabens and alcohol and they have not done this. I chose this thinking that the mint would make me fresher under the arms and now I find that I regret purchasing...so much so that I felt I must leave a review for other people. I used several times over a month and today it has been disposed of.
