Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit

I got this "free" at Rite Aid on sale and with UPs. It dries my lips. It is silly to try and use as it is four times larger than human lips. The third time I used this, the balm broke off the round base. It smells good. It's a cute design. I love cute packaging. I can be overpowered by cute packaging. But the fact is it is not functional and it takes up too much space. Overall, very annoying. Never again. I do not understand why this is all the rage. It only made my lips dry and pissed me off.

Mascara -Rimmel - LASH MAXXX Mascara Extreme Black
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 1/24/2011 12:48:00 AM

I love this mascara and because it's 75% off at CVS right now and I have coupons, it became incredibly inexpensive. I love the brush which is like a de-tangling comb in miniature. The extreme black is nice and dark and I get no irritation although I wear contacts and have very sensitive eyes. I haven't noticed any fallout. It applies very wet and I have to let it dry or I will get black spots where my lashes hit my lids. But that may be because it is brand new and needs the 2 week cooling off period that lots of mascaras seem to need. I'm buying every single bottle of this that I can find! If they really are discontinuing it ... I'll be so sad!

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Royal Delicious Gloss in Cookie
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 1/24/2011 12:35:00 AM

Fantastic Gloss that smells & tastes like a freshly baked cookie. I love the feel of these glosses on my lips, very moisturizing. Much better moisture levels than Revlon SL glosses. A clear but somehow golden shimmer that is very fine, looks great alone and over gloss. This is my favorite of all the Rimmel Royal Glosses. I think Rimmel Royal Gloss is actually my holy grail, because my lips like the formula. And at 75% off, and with a coupon, this glass is pennies.

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - PM Lip Plumper
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 1/22/2011 8:59:00 PM

I bought this for less than $1 during the CVS 75% off sale and was pretty horrified when I checked the reviews. I'm actually glad that it does not burn. I hate that. This stuff is just a straight up nice lip moisturizer for me. I love it. It feels like it sinks in, and my lips felt so soft after using it for only two days. It smells like a creamsicle and seems to have no taste. It does have the texture of a thin lotion. I did buy backups of this and I am glad I did because I love it. But; it doesn't plump ... anything.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused - The Lost
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 7/23/2009 3:00:00 PM

Started out as marzipan, and then turned almond. I smell cherry, but not overwhelming. I have the lotion and only a small size. I'll be buying the perfume and everything else I can get my little paws on in this fragrance. Very interesting and sophisticated on me. Have never smelled POTL. I am sure I'd love that as well. Lots of people say this is similar, but not exact. They say this is sweeter. However, POTL is nearly $200. This is so reasonably priced and the quality of B&I is wonderful. I'm very impressed. This scent is one I will return to again and again. A little spicy. Delish!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused - Funeral
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 7/23/2009 1:40:00 PM

First order with Bathed and Infused, during their 4th Birthday sale. The package took a month and a day to get here and it was worth the wait. I got Funeral in a EDP, and I'm completely in love. Everyone is different of course, body chemistry and so on. This is classic old rose, even english rose with moss, a little fresh dirt (as in graveyard) and it develops during dry down. I think it's a perfect modern rose scent. Well named. This is everything that is good about funerals. (I know) It's a fascinating scent and I'm going to need this in every form B&I makes it in. I love it, it's fascinating.

Eye Shadow -Joey New York - Eye Shading Powder in Eye Can
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 3/28/2009 7:17:00 PM

Beautiful wine color. Gorgeous on green eyes! Love the pigment. Very easy to blend, very smooth, and an unusual texture. Not frosty, more like velvet. I found alot of these recently at T.J. Maxx and bough as many colors as I could. For 3.99? So worth it! Problem with the packaging. Hard to open and no visual cues as to what color is inside. I may depot them, but the packaging is pretty and sturdy ... so near perfect! No points off for packaging because I love the color and pigment Nice!

Misc Beauty Tools -Bobbi Brown - Tweezers
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 10/7/2008 8:00:00 PM

I just repurchased these. They are $30 and worth every single penny. I am a natural California Blonde, meaning I have very tiny blonde eyebrows. These tweezers are absolutely incredible at grabbing a very thin, fine blonde hair, and not letting go mid-pull. My last pair went missing, after 6-ish years. I still have a misguided hope that they will show up! In the meantime, someone very kind pointed out to me that having a pair of tweezers for six years was quite the accomplishment! I was resisting but the truth is; I don't really want to be with out these. I have tried to use other tweezers. They can't get as close, they cannot hold onto tiny fine blonde hair. Which means; Pain! This isn't exactly painless; but it's as close as you can get while yanking out the hair on your face! As long as I have excellent light; I can see the hair, these tweezers can help me rid myself of it! I do not trust anyone to do my brows. I could end up looking like Nicole Kidman. I think over plucked overly thin brows just make women look older. This gives me complete control. A beauty product I would never want to be without. Worth every cent if you have very thin blonde hard to pull out hair! Perfectly made in every way. Oh; I guess they could make these bright red? That might help me not lose them? Yes, they cost more and they are worth it!

Eyeliner -Revlon - Line Fantasy Cream Eyeliners
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 9/18/2008 8:47:00 PM

I found these two cream eyeliners with a sweet little brush that looked exactly like what I was and have been looking for to use with cream liners. I bought the Plum and Indigo. I am not impressed with the Indigo color. However, the Plum version of this shows up as a blackened plum. I can use it to tightline with, and it makes my green eyes stand out in very little time. I can tight line my upper lid with this Plum color .Just like say; Laura Mercier's cake liner; The one you have to get wet and then stir forever to get the right consistency. This Revlon Line Fantasy Plum gives me the same effect. But the Laura Mercier is a process. I wear contact lenses, so there is some pain involved with Laura Mercier if I get it wrong. No pain with the Revlon. Which makes me very happy. What I have found so far is that the staying power is decent for me with the Plum Color. I have to touch it up at about 4pm if I am working a 12 hour day. I don't find the glitter irritating, it makes my eyes look gorgeous. I love the little brush, it reminds me of Bobbi Brown's eyeliner brush, but smaller. I have no idea why people are complaining about the brush, it seems like the perfect tool to apply cream eyeliner. I do love the older Bobbi Brown cream eyeliners. But Bobbi changed something and I think her liners are no longer as pigmented. Or as budge proof. HIP liners are lovely, but the Plum that is blackened just doesn't exist in the HIP brand. I really like this liner. I'm not impressed with the indigo color, but the Plum is amazing! Yes, I do love it and am a bit bummed there are supposedly limited Time Only products! Luckily a cream liner will usually last awhile, so I am pleased!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - S.T. Dupont - Orazuli
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 8/17/2008 11:57:00 PM

I found S.T. Dupont Orazuli at both TJ Maxx and Marshall's and I actually couldn't find much about it online, except for one incredible review on Amazon. It is discontinued and will eventually vanish out of the Clearance houses ... Sad but true. I'll let the other describe notes to you. http://www.amazon.com/review/R1CIQMLZD8XVI5/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?%5Fencoding=UTF8&ASIN=B000W0C0OC&nodeID=#wasThisHelpful On Basenotes.com it is in the "Missing Perfumes List ... " LOL! http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=210401 I bought this originally unsniffed due to the incredible elegance of the bottle and the fact that it is made by S.T. Dupont who makes incredible lovely French pens and writing instruments. A dead art. When I finally applied it, I absolutely couldn't believe how well it seems to blend with my body chemistry. I have many bottles of perfume, but this; made me feel desperate! It sorta made me feel like a Cat on Nip! I immediately went online and started searching. This was in February 2008. I love the tiny 1 oz bottle, so lovely and sturdy I feel fine carrying it in one of my purses. The 1.7 oz is my favorite of the three sizes. The 3.3 oz is very long and tall and looks like a bottle waiting to be knocked over. The 1.7 is more manageable. Luckily, Marshall's put that size on super clearance and I stocked up. I wouldn't feel safe even talking about this until I had stocked up on it. It's a secret. That's how insane this stuff makes me feel. I doubt I'd tell my closest friends! Maybe I'm selfish, but every cell was screaming, "MINE! MINE! Give! Mine!" Now; It is all safe and sound in a linen closet, unwrapped. I agree with the Amazon reviewer. This should last several years that way. If I don't go thru it first. I've been wearing it for months. It is not a heavy fragrance that you have to scrub off. In 4-6 hours I find it's not there and I can switch or reapply my perfume. The comments I get from people about this scent is just, "You smell really, really good." Not more. Exactly what I am going for! Packaging? Midnight Blue Glass with Gold Flecks? Gorgeous bottle. Very Art Deco/ Film Noir ... I don't think this smells like anything except an incredible French Perfume. It smells expensive. For lack of a better way of describing it, it is what is best about France. They do know how to make beautiful and elegant perfume. I feel fine wearing this in any situation. It is not overwhelming. I never feel self conscious wearing it. I did have to laugh looking at my linen closet. I refuse to tell you how many 1.7 oz bottles I have but come on .. they were marked down to $7! I thought to myself, "Well, I guess if I die suddenly cause a piano drops on me tomorrow, people are going to think I'm so crazy for *this* alone." But Orazuli .. Ohhh myyyyy *swoon* It's incredible; feminine and complex.

Lipstick -Kevyn Aucoin - Bloodroses lip tint
rated 5 of 5
Love8Brain 11/16/2007 11:49:00 PM

Yes what can't a little red lipstick do for a girl!? I bought this sight unseen from VictoriasSecret.com back when they carried his line. I had to wait for MONTHS for it to arrive. It's always mildly exciting in a masochistic kinda way. I don't just mean red lipstick, which this is ... sort of. But waiting. So I waited it out. One day when I had forgotten about it; it arrived. KA's lipstick has a scent of roses to it. But that isn't annoying at all. This glides on so smoothly that yes, you can apply red-ish lipstick in a moving car and not be too concerned. It was so wonderful that when i saw it on clearance that same season, I grabbed another. I'm PPP, now incredibly blonde, due to a chemical intervention. I have green/blue eyes with gold in the center. This is the kind of lipstick that you can actually wear with smoked out eyes, or with a neutral eye. My fav way to wear this is with a white/creamy shadow on my eyes, and black liner; winged. Very Bombshell. It's very Classic Bombshell on me and I can only hope I never ever run out or lose my two most precious Bloodroses lipsticks! Love. Just love. I really do believe that KA loved women and really did want them to look and feel beautiful. And this shows in his products. Still.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 3 of 5
Love8Brain 11/2/2007 1:23:00 PM

PPP here. Dry skin, but oily eyelids, and need alot primer to keep my shadow on. I also use lash primer, to thicken my lashes. I really am the perfect consumer. If the makeup companies could clone me, I am sure they would make millions more a year. Maybe billions. So, I guess I better watch my nail clippings and hair brush closely! I'm influenced by packaging, shape, color, hype, newness, other people talking about products. When a freak-fest hits MUA about a product the chances of me resisting buying the product are about 0%-1%. And I think 1% is really optimistic there, I pretty much receive all the fashion magazines and so, I'm a prime target for any newness that the drugstore and higher ends throw up at us. I bite every time. So I am out shopping for my current primary makeup addiction (nail polish) and I see this orange tube. I have a HOLY GRAIL Mascara. It is Maybelline's 'Volume Express Waterproof in the light blue tube, waterproof. How many drugstore mascaras did I test to determine this? I would say about 30. I honestly went to a Rite Aid who allows returns on used makeup you are not happy with. Because I was so tired of wasting money on drugstore makeup items, I had no moral or ethical problems doing this test. I just thought; "Science and Revenge all in one! Sign me up!" So that is how I determined that Maybelline's Volume Express, waterproof black in the light blue tube was my baby. So of course, I end up buying this. At Rite-Aid where I was out hunting the elusive NYC Cognac Sparkle np. First. The brush. This brush is exactly what I need for my lashes. It's very large (I have large eyes) it is multi bristled, I have blonde hair and thus fine lashes that are very long, but blonde at the roots and blonde at the tips. The brush does get the tiny tiny little lashes that I have in abundance. So the first day I tried this mascara, (I always always use lash primer; English Ideas because I need volume, not length) I was impressed! Because the brush makes the mascara really quite amazing. The thing is, I noticed that the formula is nice and dark, but my eyes soon started to water, and then I kinda felt the mascara coming off and soon ... no mascara. Gone. The next day, the same thing happened, stunning for about two hours and then it would vanish. Day three? OMG I want to RIP my eyeballs out! Redness, watery eyes ... OUCHIE! Clearly I am allergic to this mascara. I noticed alot of flaking of the mascara. I wear contact lenses, and I am sensitive to certain products. But not predictably. It's sort of hit or miss. So, what I have done, is I took the mascara wand from the Covergirl Lash Blast, and washed it, sterilized it, dried it and then USED it to apply my Maybelline Volume Express. In my opinion this is the best of both worlds. The wand is so superior of the Lash Blast. But the Maybelline mascara formula is waterproof and stays ON all 11 hours I work. I mean, it is my Holy Grail formula. But the Covergirl BRUSH is superior to the Maybelline brush that volume express comes with. So then the next question is ... does it fit in the mismatched tube perfectly? No. It doesn't. I was at the end of a tube, so I expect dry out to occur pretty fast now. It's not sealed as far as I can see, and I'll have to do some kinda Weird Science (She Blinded me with Science!!!) to make this work. But I am determined. I have tried high end mascara as well. Clinique, Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Even Dior Show in waterproof. Nothing comes close to the Frankenstein job I have done with the Covergirl brush and the Maybelline formula. So I feel like I am an expert in the field of mascara and I wish to tell you; your Holy Grail is out there!! I just have no idea what it will be. Because from what i can tell there is NOT just one superior mascara for every woman. You have to try alot of formulas before you find a winner. Best advice; save your receipt and be sure you can return it. I hate to see women have to waste their hard earned 'we work had for the money ..." Hope this helped someone! Believe me, I know I'll have to find a more sanitary, sealed situation, but for the moment I am one happy camper. IN conclusion; I'm allergic to the formula, I hate non-waterproof mascara (I have eyelashes like iron, waterproof mascara doesn't harm them at all!) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this Covergirl Lash Blast brush. It's a halfway PEREFCT solution. So I'm giving it a 2.5. Which I'll round up, of course!
