Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

I'm using my first tube of this and think it's GREAT! I've been wanting to try this stuff for ever and finally took the plunge and ordered some from Sephora.com. This is definitely the best mascara I have every used for dramatic looking lashes. It really makes my lashes look long and thick. I have not noticed any problem with flaking. I have used MAC, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Prescriptives, Elizabeth Arden, and lots of drug store brands. That being said I really like Maybellines Full n Soft mascara for a more natural look, and I use it on my bottom lashes everyday. This is funny since this is a mascara, but I LOVE the way the Diorshow smells.haha. I think it has a great scent and it makes me look forward to using it in the mornings. Yeah, I'm a weirdo! lol.

Sunscreen -California Baby - SPF 30+ SUNSCREEN
LouLou15 7/11/2009 11:46:00 AM
I'm a ppp who has birth control related melasma on my temples. While it is fairly light and not too noticeable it seemed to me to be gradually getting darker despite my attempts at religiously putting on sunscreen daily. After some research I found that a physical sunblock is believed by many to be the answer to keeping melasma from becoming darker. Some research suggests that chemical sunblocks since they absorb the suns rays may contribute to darkening melasma. So I searched for a good physical block with no scent for my sensitive skin. I attempted to use this sunblock all over my face a few times and each time my face became EXTREMELY oily by the end of the day. I have since only used the block on my melasma patches and they have lightened quite a bit. So, it is great for that but I would not recommend it as a daily facial sunscreen if your skin is at all oily. It may work for someone with drier skin though. For the rest of my skin I have been using Olay Complete which I love but wish had a higher spf. I just bought some Shiseido ultimate sun protection cream and will actually be starting my use of that today. I really hope it works out since I've been wanting to try it forever. That being said I will continue to buy California Baby for my melasma spots since it contains no chemical sunscreens (which Shiseido and the Olay moisturizer do contain) and I will use the Shiseido on the rest of my face ... if it works for me that is! CONCLUSION: Great physical sunblock that does it's job. I wouldn't recommend it for daily use on the face if you have oily skin. Great for a day at the beach or out in the sun on occasion but it will make your face really shiny. I use it on just my facial melasma spots everyday and they have lightened up quite a bit.

Powder -Chanel - Double Perfection Compact Teint Poudre Mat Eclat [DISCONTINUED]
LouLou15 6/20/2008 3:48:00 PM
This has been my HG foundation for the past three years. I was trying to order some the other day and could not find it on the website. I searched the Chanel site and it wasn't there either! I emailed Chanel and got a confirmation that the Double Perfection Compact has been discontinued!! If you send them your phone number they will call you and let you know if they can track down some for you. I think that I'm just going to go ahead and try to find a replacement since I have to eventually anyway. =.( EDIT::: I have been using the new version and while I could tell it was a bit different at first I have grown to like it. I attempted to find a good replacement for awhile but everything paled in comparison so I stuck it out with this. I don't think the coverage is as good as it used to be but it's still pretty good at cutting down on the oil slick that my face can become by midday. Overall still my HG though not as fabulous as it used to be. 2ND EDIT:: Ugh. The last compact I purchased had an embossed chanel logo in the powder, which I noticed and thought was pretty cute and a nice little change. I'm pretty sure that the formula also changed, and not for the better. It's much more orange than it used to be and seems to oxidize through the day. I use the lightest shade, Vanilla, and it looked too dark a couple hours after applying. Oh, well. I went ahead and changed make up. It's something I've been thinking about doing since it seems that since I've gotten older my skin is a bit less oily than it used to be and more combination. I think this stuff was also becoming a bit to drying for me so... fare well chanel! We had a nice four or five years!
