I got the liquid eyeline called I think Star Black...it's a black liquid eyeliner with hints of fine silver sparkle. I really like this liquid eyeliner a lot! I had been looking everywhere and every brand for something to compare to my limited editition Lise Watier metaliner in Aphrodite and this is definitely the best match by far. It goes on smooth with a really fine and precise brush which I really like in a liquid eyeliner. I just have more precision when the tip is a fine brush. The colour is dark...not as dark as the Lise Watier but definitely black...with a couple lines it defines well and the sparkles are very subtle. Staying power is good...lasted all day w/ no smudges and comes of easily with water and cleanser. Great quality product for a reasonable price! Very happy with it and gonna go buy more when it's 20X the points again at Shoppers Drug Mart. The optimum points card is a makeup lover's bliss, especially on 20X the points days!
After having my second baby, the hormones in my body had changed and affected my hair a lot. It became dry and brittle and hard to manage...such a difference from my usually healthy hair. I wanted my old hair back and tried all sorts of salon brands and drugstore brands...Pantene used to work so well for me and that didn't help either. I finally gave up after a couple years of trying until I saw this Dove Shampoo and conditioner on sale at Costco for 1litre, only $4.97 CDN, and decided to buy it since it was cheap. I noticed a difference after the first time and by the second and third time, I was hooked!!! It restored softness to my hair...it feels so silky and added shine back to my hair! It is so much better and I am so relieved to find this shampoo and conditioner and it's sooo cheap, what a great buy!!!
Treatments -Boots - no7 Protect and Perfect beauty serum

I was excited to to try this, especially with all the news that British women stood in long lines for this and there was a credible article published for it. When I put it on...it feels like greasy and matte at the same time...like I put watered down vaseline on my face but then it wasn't greasy, it felt matte and greasy at the same time...I used this alone...and then tried under moisturizer and it still did pretty much nothing at all...no plumpness of skin..no moisture...not even moisture retention, if anything it dried my skin out more...what a disappointment...
Treatments (Eye) -La Mer - Eye Balm [DISCONTINUED]
LotusBlossom34 3/3/2009 3:22:00 AM
I have some fine lines under my eyes and I find that this La Mer eye balm is the best to smooth them out. I really like that it's non greasy and absorbs into the skin really well. I notice right away a difference in my skin...more elasticity and the skin looks smoother. It's definitely one of my favourite under eye creams, and great cause I have combination skin and it provides just the right amount of moisture.
Eye Primer -Lancome - Ombre Perfecteur (Perfecting EyeShadow Base)
LotusBlossom34 3/3/2009 3:19:00 AM
I finally found the perfect eyeshadow base! I have really oily eyelids...and I mean really oily, I need a blotting paper to blot out the oilslick so I rarely wear eyeshadow, especially cream shadows cause they just crease and slide off or cause a big gunk in my crease. However with this perfect eyeshadow base I can even wear loose eyeshadow and it stays so well and my eyelids are so smooth with it on! I work all day and had eyeshadow on the whole day and it didn't even start to crease until after 12 hours, and even then it was just the slightest crease...my eyeshadow looked fresh and radiant all day. I have been searching forever for all sorts of eyeshadow bases and spent a fortune in the meantime and have finally found the one!
LOVE this product! I was hesitant to try a loose eyeshadow cause I was afraid it would just fall all over my lashes and cheeks but it actually stays! I apply it over the Lancome Ombre Perfect eyeshadow base w/ a lancome eyeshadow brush and the colours are truly pigmented and so pretty and pearly. I didn't even have loose powder all over my face and it has good staying power...thought the base probably helped a lot. The colours are well pigmented and have a great sheen. If you like Bobbi Brown shimmer brick eyeshadows, these deserve a try cause they are more pigmented than the bobbi brown but just as pearly and at a small fraction of the price. Nyx really is a great cosmetics line w/ an even greater price but with equal quality of higher end lines!!!
I have combination skin that is on the border of being oily and I actually enjoy using this product but mostly during the dry months of winter. When it gets warmer I would switch to the photo finish light primer. This primer is smooth, easy to blend and helps make my makeup look more flawless. I haven't noticed any major breakouts with this primer either even though I have large pores, however by the end of the day, I do notice my skin is more oilier but blotting papers help. It's good when the climate is dry cause it gives my skin that healthy sheen to it...not so cakey and pasty. I like that they improved the packaging too where the pump elevates the entire product so you get full use of the product inside, which is how it should be considering the price of $44. Overall a great product and a must have for smooth healthy looking skin.
The colour is natural, I use the soft black so it's a bit tricky w/ black cause it can make or break good eyebrows but this shade is actually subtle when used w/ a light hand and blends super well. Its blendability lends itself well to allowing mistakes cause you can swipe it off with a Q-tip and fix the brow. Plus it's usually on sale for only $2.99 so it's super cheap and I love that it's a soft texture...not quite a pencil, just the right softness. The thin design helps when drawing too and my eyebrows turn out more beautifully than they ever have with any other eyebrow pencil.
I've used a lot of liquid eyeliners in my lifetime and I have to say this was my least favourite. I was excited cause I had grabbed the limited edition black w/ silver highlights from London Drugs but when I did use it...my eyelids kept sticking to themselves...It goes on and yes, the colour is ok and doesn't smudge but this eyeliner is so sticky everytime I blinked I could feel my lower eyelids getting stuck to the top of my eyelid and it also felt really heavy on my eyelids too. This eyeliner wasn't cheap either..it was $9.99 and I had to throw it away. Very disappointed in it.
Eyeliner -Lise Watier - Metal Liner in Lilac (Les Cashemires collection)
LotusBlossom34 3/3/2009 12:46:00 AM
I actually got the metal liner in another limited edition collection, in a sparkly black called Aphrodite and I've used liquid eyeliner pretty much for over 10 years and this is the BEST liquid eyeliner I've ever used. The fine brush lets me control how much I want to apply and allows for precision drawing. I've received countless compliments on my eyeliner because I've been able to better control the liner w/ their brush and the black colour is intense so it's a definite black without having to go over the same area more than once. Eye-popping pigmented colour and gorgeous application...I'm just sad they haven't come out with the black metal liner for awhile...but when they do, I'm sure to stock up from all the Lise Watier retailers, cause this is the best eyeliner. Only complaint I may have is that close to the end of the bottle, it tends to clump around the opening, but that's pretty minor considering how much use I got out of it.
Crème -La Mer - The Treatment Creme Foundation SPF 15
LotusBlossom34 2/7/2009 2:16:00 AM
BEST foundation out on the market...creates an airbrushed look! I love that it glides on smoothly, but you will need loose powder to set it. Once I set it with the loose powder my skin looks flawless. Great coverage and my skin looks glowing all day long, not cakey or fake. I've tried so many different brands drugstore and department and catalogue order and this skincolor is the best!
Absolutely LOVE this mascara! I have spent years and years as well as so much money looking for an equivalent to my usual favourite YSL Effet Faux Cils mascara and to no avail until I found this mascara at the Rexall drugstore. I curl my lashes and then apply and it lengthens and adds volume just the right amount and definitely gives me the doll eye look, very flattering and I've received a lot of compliments and admiring glances wearing this mascara. At only $9.99 a tube, this is an awesome deal compared to the YSL and easier to find too!
