Lipstick -MAC - Fresco [DISCONTINUED]
Lotos 3/3/2005 10:08:00 AM
Hmmm... I guess I have very special lips: on me just everything turns red or fuchsia or at least gets amplified. Fresco is in the tube coraly softly pink but on my lips it is sort of red. I do not mind since red suits me very well and so Fresco looks very nice but on me it just not a YLBB shade but definitively a "you are waering a lipstick color".

Eye Shadow -Yves Saint Laurent - Ombres Vibration Duo #35 Chocolate / Silvered Frost
Lotos 2/21/2005 9:14:00 AM
I use with great pleasure YSL-lipsticks but I was always a bit hesitating about their e/s but I decided to give this a try. I own only this duo No. 35 but I am very happy with. It contains a cold grey/silver colour and a warm brown with hints of gold. Together they make a very classic eye make up. I usually use the silver as a base and then accentuate the outer corners of the lid with brown. Depending how careful you apply the colours they go from very sheer to hyper dramatic. Although it is a great colour combination for me (very pale, back hair, blue eyes) and I am always amazed how nice this looks, I do not reach for this often. So I will not buy again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Nehru Eyeshadow
Lotos 2/17/2005 10:05:00 AM
When I bought this eyeshadow I was looking for a colour too do smokey eyes. Nehru looked to dark for me, in fact the MA had to convince me to buy it. Now I am glad I did. Nehru goes with almost all colours I own and applied with a very light hand it darkens lighter colours for more contrast and drama in the evening and is a great eyeliner. Now for smokey eyes I use first a base like Brulé all over the lid up to the brows and then I apply Bronze on the lid and the crease. (The MA told me, that the medium shadow should be shimmery/frosty because it gives a softer look to the dark shadow and the "smokey eye-effect" is easier to achive). After that I use Nehru to turn the Bronze into a smokey grey/brown colour. A lot of colour on the lid and then blend softly in the crease. I use it wet as liner for the upper lashline and phonenumber khol as liner in the rim and black mascara. The look is gorgeous for my blue eyes. I will try this technique with other colour combinations such as Shale/Taupe Satin and Nehru or Expensive Pink and Nehru...

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick in Twig
Lotos 2/11/2005 6:41:00 AM
Twig was the second lipstick I bought from MAC. Before this purchase I used the Chanel's lipliner in Nude to line and fill the lips. I was looking for something that would give me the same matte dusty rose effect and Twig is what the MA picked out for me. Actually I think that matte lips are even more sexy than glossy ones. This colour lasts a long time on my lips and when I feel for a slightliy fresher look I tab a bit of lip conditioner on it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Patina (Frost)
Lotos 2/10/2005 4:13:00 AM
Patina is one of my favorits. My dark blue eyes come beautyfully out when I am wearing this. I my leasuretime I use this on the lid with Paradisco in the crease and a light layer of lustreglass in "Wonderstroke" on the lips. For more drama I use it together with "Nehru" or "Mystery" and "Brulé" as Highlither. I think "Patina" is very simmilar to Chanel's "Riviera" Cream Shadow and their new watershadow in "Sand".

Cleansers -Nuxe - REVE DE MIEL Face Gentle Cleansing Gel
Lotos 2/7/2005 11:23:00 AM
This makes a very soft foam that I use every morning only to wash and refresh my skin, means when I have to take off the oilyness and transpiration of my "night-face". I think it is too gentle to be used as a evening-cleanser since I have noticed that my toner-pad is still slighly dirty after having washed my make-up off with this gel. But used in the morning this is a great stuff, mild, nice-scented and absolutly not drying.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
Lotos 2/7/2005 9:14:00 AM
I was looking for a colour that could replace my Chanel "Riviera" cream-shade. The creamy texture did not last a long time on my lids and so I took my little Chanel-box to the MAC counter. The SA showed my this and "Patina", which is more on the grey side. i choosed Woodwinked. Other reviewers have already mentioned that this is a dirty gold, sort of brown-gold-orange. For girls with blue eyes this is a must-have, since the soft orange undertone makes the blue coming out incredibly. I love the texture of the velux-line and own two others but Woodwinked is my favorit. Try this on your lid and use shroom as a highlighter, then draw a fine line with black kajal, mascara... voilà! Would buy again and again.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
Lotos 2/4/2005 8:34:00 AM
I cannot understand why this has so low ratings. I use this and Hypnose from Lancome and have to say that both of them are great products. High Impact Mascara make my lashes so "feather-like"! no clumps or smudg just beautyful separated lashes, long, curled and still very natural. A keeper!

Skincare - Face -Erno Laszlo - 12 o'clock ritual
Lotos 2/1/2005 3:25:00 AM
I purchased the starter-kit of the 12 o'clock ritual a half year ago since I was so stupid to think I could find something better than my Nuxe face-care. I admit that I was influenced by the rave about this products here in Zurich. As mentioned by reviewers before, this ritual is very time-consuming and the results I got after using this 6 months are fare away to justify the price. My skin had no big break-outs during this time and the splashing was even very nice but it started to become drier, guess it is caused by the toners. I will not buy again but I continue with the splashing-ritual using a gel by Nuxe or a soft soap by Clinique. I am convinced, if there is really something that helps your skin in this ritual, it is the splashing - the intense use of water during the cleansing-step. Why should I use Laszlo expensive Laszlo products for this?

Lipstick -Chanel - Hydrabase #32 Vibrant

I love this lipstick. I tab only a little amount of this colour on my lips and it gives me a finish as if I had eaten cherries. Beautyful for those who want soft red lips

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
Lotos 1/20/2005 9:04:00 AM
I use shroom every day. It is a very nice highlighter. I use this very often with bark or concrete. Give a soft layer of bark or concrete on your lid and then go over with shroom. It gives you a hugh taupe.

Fragrances -Gucci - Eau de Parfum II
Lotos 12/17/2004 12:31:00 PM
I was attracted by the beautyful bottle design, so I tried it. Like the fashion itself there is something callgirl-like in this scent. But it is not a callgirl or curtisane of the belle-epoque, that wears "Tabac blond". It is more like a blond, anorexic chick that hardly finished high-school. Gucci II is a very ordinary scent and I really wonder why this is so successful. The scent is fruity, sweet, floral but in a very forgettable way. It attracts the attention of the client in the first 15 minutes and then drys down in a sweet-sour nothing.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Eyeshadow in Mocha Cup

I reach for this every mornig. A very light shimmery taupe-brown, that is great for blue eyes. You do not really detect it but it makes your eyes looking better.

Fragrances -Chanel - No.19
Lotos 12/8/2004 10:14:00 AM
I think Chanel 19 is the less prefered scent of the regular Chanel perfumes. Surely the fact, that most women choose more floral and warmer scents is one reason... Gabrielle Chanel hesitated a long time before launching a new scent. The success of No. 5 was so big, that she feared to fail with a new scent. She once had wished for No. 5 to smell like a woman and not like a flower. By designing very comfortable and "unspectacular" clothes she freed women from their traditional roles and gave them by dressing them a very simple way to express a new femininity. Now in the 70ties there was again a big movement where women did not only wanted to be seen like a woman as a mother or beloved, but they wanted to show that they where able to think, to act and to do jobs even better than some men. They wanted to conquest the world outside their homes. This was the time to launch a new perfume: fresh, green, a bit uncommon, but not without romance. No. 19 was born (it is said, that this was actually Gabrielle's personal scent). Take No 19 for what it is, another aspect of a woman's beeing. Lets say, the activ one. Give this scent a chance to grow on you. Try to detect the beautyful orris and rose that hide under the shadow of a forest and that come out when a sunbeam touches their petals. Masterpieces sometimes need time to be understood.
