Liquid -CK One - 3-in-1 Face Makeup With SPF 8 Sunscreen
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 5/25/2013 8:56:00 AM

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!! Quick background. I recently switched from mineral makeup because it just wasn't doing it for me anymore. Over the past 2 months I have tried, Lancome, Dior, Shiesdo, MAC, Stila, etc. You name it, I feel like I've tried it. I settled on Urban Decay naked skin for awhile until it broke me out horribly (my skin is STILL recovering). I tried CK one on a total whim and can I just say that I am SO in love with this foundation. I am shocked! After trying everything under the sun, the SA was trying to get me to buy a BB or CC cream, but I am SO happy I tried this instead! PROS: -Lightweight, buildable coverage. Due to my breakouts, I can build the coverage to cover almost everything without making me look made up. I apply with fingers for a "base" and then stipple more where I need more coverage. Perfection. -Blendable! Doesn't leave streaks and sets perfectly within minutes. I just add some NARS bronzer and/or Tarte blush and I am good to go. -Color: I am a NC27-30 and Sand is a PERFECT color for me. Truly a perfect match! A bonus too is that this does NOT oxidize in the least bit like most foundations I have tried as of late. -Glow. This stuff gives a subtle beautiful glow. I don't set with powder and on hot summer day, I can see how this could look oily by the end of the day in my T-zone, but nothing bad at all. Nothing that most other foundations/Tinted moisturizers won't do. -Comes with a pump. Always a plus! -3 in 1.....love the fact that this is a primer, serum and foundation all in one. -Truly looks like my skin without feeling totally made up! CONS: -After about an 8 hour day of wearing this, I can see it starts to fade a little.....especially around the spots I tried to cover, so I have to touch up a little bit with concealer. I would say it wears around 6-8 hours. -A little transferable, but I wonder if that's more my concealer in places rather than the foundation. It's a little pricey, but what I was paying to try Dior, Lancome, Sheisdo, Clarins, etc., this was cheaper, so I don't mind spending the $ on this gem! I so want to call this my HG, but I need to wear it a couple more weeks to see if I break out. As I mentioned, Urban Decay reached HG status before I broke out almost 3 weeks later from it. So far, I've been wearing CK ONE for about a week. However, my skin has been actually clearing since wearing this. This foundation also covers and brings out an "inner glow" which I really don't have at the moment, so that is a bonus and overall it's really a nice foundation. I am in heaven and will update as time passes. LOVE IT!

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup (new - 2011 version)
rated 1 of 5
Loci80015 5/18/2013 8:47:00 PM

I cannot understand the great reviews for this product. I just found out that my Urban Decay Naked skin foundation was breaking me out BIG time, so I did a lot of research and decided to try this foundation. I first was "matched" to Medium Beige (030). For reference, I am a NC25-30. This turned me a reddish/ruddy color of sorts. I went back to try a different color. The second SA couldn't believe the first SA matched me to 030 and said I was definitely a Sand (031) since I have yellow/gold undertones. This time my skin turned a yellow/orange color that could not possibly match anything that a human skin color could ever be. I actually had to laugh a little when I applied it because it was so off. Can't attest to anything past that because I washed it off immediately. Glad Nordstrom takes returns because this is an awfully expensive product that is completely as unnatural as it can get. Bummer!

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
rated 2 of 5
Loci80015 5/16/2013 12:40:00 PM

There seem to be 2 reviews on this foundation, so I wanted to add this review here as well because I am truly in love with this foundation. I recently switched from wearing mineral makeup which stopped looking good on me for various reasons. On my search for the perfect foundation, I have literally tried about 6 different liquid foundations in the last week....MAC, Shesiedo, Lancome, Stila, Dior, etc. I was actually pretty happy and almost settled on Stila's Correct and Perfect but I did notice some oxidation after about 2-3 hours of wear. I kept it but the SA told me about Urban Decay's Naked skin foundation. Well, I have had the unfortunate experience my entire life in getting suckered into buying a foundation I didn't come in to try on in the first place only to be disappointed every time. This time, however, the SA was sooooo right on. This makeup IS amazing. It DOES cover. It DOES match. This is a great foundation so far. PROS: -First of all, if you like the dewy look, this is not for you. This is quite matte, but has a slight glow (not as matte as Lancome Teinte Idole or ELDW). I for one, like that look and don't like looking oily as "glowy" foundations tend to look on me. I use Clarins Every Day Multi active moisturizer which gives me a nice glow. I also brighten up my cheeks with some NARS bronzer and/or Tarte Blush to add more definition. I guess one could also use some primer, but I don't like adding another product. -Color selection is quite amazing. I am normally a NC25, but in the summer a NC30+. I was matched to Shade 4.0. It seemed to be the right shade but the wrong tone! It was really green on me as this shade was meant for people with olive undertones. I thought going up to shade 5.0 (medium with slight golden undertones) would be way too dark but it isn't at all. This color sinks into my skin and just matches quite perfectly to my tanned skin (would not be able to wear this shade in the winter though.....) -Oh this stuff is SO blendable and it covers EVERYTHING. First I moisturize. Then I place a little foundation on the back of my hand and take my MAC stippling brush to dip the foundation and then I start blending. Give it a minute and it sinks into skin. Best of all? I have not used ANY concealer at all with this stuff. This is a miracle for me as that's all I used with mineral makeup. Now, I do not place this near my eyes however. I guess I should back up and say that I don't need concealer at all for my superficial acne marks, but I do place a little brightener/concealer under my eyes and try to avoid foundation in that area that would accentuate fine lines. -Don't get that oily look with this stuff. -Comes with a pump! Always a bonus. CONS: -Since it is more on the matte side, it does sometimes tend to stick to dry spots as the day wears on. I have mixed a tiny bit of argan oil into my moisturizer before putting on this foundation and it seems to help a little bit. Nothing like with the Dior foundation though. -The price. But you get what you pay for right? And a little does go a long way, so I am not really looking at it as a CON, especially when some of the other foundations I tried were about $20 more. -Staying power seems to be ok. I would say 6-7 hours? I would have to reapply if I wanted a fresh face look to go out after wearing it all day. So far no break outs. In fact, I feel like it "dries" out any existing acne that I do have. I will update if this causes any irritation of breakouts. LOVE this foundation. Too early to say if it's HG, but it's looking pretty probable. UPDATE:Noooooooooooooooooooooo! I seriously though this was HG! I so loved this for almost 3 weeks. Nothing has EVER sunk into my skin so naturally, but with every good comes a bad. At first I thought this foundation was actually helping my skin. As a week passed, I noticed a little skin congestion, but nothing too bad. By the 2nd week, I noticed that every time I would wash this off at night, I would get some bumps on my face. By the 3rd week, HUGE whiteheads all over my face and in places I never break out!!! Like my EYELID! Side of my mouth. Neck (yes, I pulled the foundation down to my neck). Cheeks. All places I have never broken out. EVER! There was nothing else I changed in my skin care regimen. It's almost like my skin calms down at night and then gets worse as I wear the makeup during the day. I am so, so very disappointed. I have nowhere to turn now. Bummed.

Moisturizers -St. Ives - St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer
rated 3 of 5
Loci80015 5/8/2013 2:17:00 PM

I agree with the reviewer below. This isn't a good facial moisturizer. I thought I'd save a few bucks and try this based on reviews. I too think it's unsanitary and it left me with flesh colored bumps on my face too! I did give it a 3 because for the $, I use it as body lotion and it's pretty good for that, so at least I didn't have to toss it.

There seem to be 2 reviews on this foundation, so I wasn't quite sure which one was the one I am using (or if they are identical), but this thread seems to be more up to date. I recently switched from wearing mineral makeup which stopped looking good on me for various reasons. UPDATE: I noticed that this doesn't wear as long as I'd like and it does cause a little skin congestion, but people have taken notice about my skin. Even when I tried to buy Dior Flawless, the SA at Sephora said "why would you change foundations? What you're wearing looks awesome!" So that cemented it in stone for me. I still think there is a little color difference between my face and neck, but it matches perfectly with the rest of my tanned body right now. So happy with this and I think I will stop straying for now. :)

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

Loci80015 4/25/2013 11:23:00 PM

I really can't write much of a review because this stuff turned me orange within seconds after putting this on. I noticed, as with most MAC foundations, that this was like putting paint on my face. It was heavy and gross. I am not a fan of MAC foundations at all. I do, however, LOVE their Prep n'Prime.

Liquid -Stila - Perfect & Correct Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 4/25/2013 11:10:00 PM

WOWZA! This stuff is amazing. Let me start off by saying that I was a loyal MMU user for 12 years. Sure I strayed and tried a tinted moisturizer in the summer, or a BB cream, but overall, I used MMU. Well as I've aged, I have realized that MMU settles into fine lines, makes me oily, couldn't find a good color match for my latest MMU and I had to use a crap load of concealer. I was very disappointed in the way I looked the other weekend in pictures.....it's almost like something changed over night. So I started to look into liquid foundations. I tried Shisiedo, MAC and Lancome in the last week. I was disappointed in all of them. I read reviews on this foundation and Cargo. I was determined to try one of these foundations. The SA swayed me and said that I should try Urban Decay Naked foundation (they ALWAYS do that and I ALWAYS end up disappointed). I literally almost got the SA's recommendation, but switched to the Stila at the last minute because I wanted to try it based off the reviews here and everywhere else. The reviews were right, this stuff is AMAZING. I am so happy I went with it. PROS: -Lightweight foundation that is buildable. I was able to cover most of my imperfections and hardly had to use any concealer. -I got the color Tone for my NC25-30 complexion. At first I wasn't sure about the color. Thought it was a little off, but once it adjusted to my skin it was perfect. Really nice. -Easy to apply. I watched a SA on QVC put this one a model. She used her fingers in downward strokes. I applied the same way. Once it set, I took a little more with a stippling brush to go over any imperfections. I was worried too because usually products with primer seem to go on streaky....not this though! -The look of this foundation is pure genius. It covers well without making you look made up or accentuating lines. The primer and moisturizing properties give this subtle glow, while the foundation keeps you more matte. -No transfer (which my MMU did all the time). -Staying power was great too. 8 hours for me -My face seemed to look better as the day wore on -Thus far no breakouts. In fact, I think it's helping my skin -I did set the makeup with MAC Prep and Prime and added some NARS bronzer over my cheekbones to get the desired look. -A pump is always great! CONS: -The one and only thing is that towards the end of the day it does become a little drying and some dry patches were evident, but not nearly as much as with the long lasting foundations I have tried over the last 2 weeks and certainly not enough for me to really think of it that much as a con. -The price. Because I have to layer this on to get even, medium coverage, I have to use more of this product than most and therefore will have to repurchase more frequently. For the price, it's tough on my wallet. :/ All in all, I am very pleased. I was so hesitant to leave my MMU behind and so frustrated after many failed attempts at branching out and trying liquid foundations. I am SO happy I did because I found this gem! Love this stuff!!!!!

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole Ultra 24h
rated 2 of 5
Loci80015 4/23/2013 6:01:00 PM

I am just coming off of mineral makeup after wearing 10 years. I have noticed that now that I turned 36, my skin needs something more moisturizing and I find myself using more and more concealer with MMU. On my search to find the right makeup, I have so far tried Shiseido Sun protection 42 and didn't like due to not having a good color match and having too much SPF that it looked horrible in pics. Then I tried MAC Studio sculpt which was a disaster. My next want was Stila but they did not carry it at my Macys so I tried the Teint 24 hr instead. PROS: -Color match is pretty good. She matched me lighter but I know that I will be tan soon, so I went for the 320 Bisque (NC25-30 skin) -Very easy to apply (applied with MAC stippling brush) and blends well. -Coverage is AMAZING with this stuff. I normally use a lot of concealer but with this stuff, I just buffed into my skin and I did not have to use ANY! Even better was the fact that is sinks into skin and doesn't look heavy at all. Very impressed by this alone. CONS: -Yes, this keeps me matte but I totally agree with the other reviewers that this made my skin feel super tight and dry. After some wear I noticed dry patches starting to come through. I do not like this and I am sure it's the alcohol that is so incredibly drying. -As the day wears on, from far away this looks flawless, but up close fine lines are accentuated. :( -Although it hasn't made me break out, I am worried that it will based on other reviews. All in all, if you are super oily, this is a great foundation. But for me, I will return because it's too drying and I already live in a state where it's super dry. Very sad however because coverage is amazing without leaving you totally made up. I am going to try Stila Correct and Perfect next! QUICK update: After only one application, I noticed that this foundation did exactly to my face what Estee Lauder DW did......it gives me a bumpy face. After I wore this for only a day, my face is covered in small bumps. Must be the drying effect.

Liquid -Shiseido - Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA+++
rated 3 of 5
Loci80015 4/21/2013 12:02:00 PM

After reading reviews, I really wanted to try this foundation. I am sure it has many great properties, but it just didn't work for me. For starters, it dries very quickly. Tried to apply it with a sponge, then a flat brush and the 3 rd time I tried with my fingers. None seemed to really blend very easily, but I didn't really try too much harder because the color selection is awful. I am a NC25-30 and I purchased the SP40. The color was too light and the step up is too dark and pink. This bummed me out after reading all the reviews how blendable and natural it looked. This also photographs horribly due to the high SPF content. I will be returning this.

BB Cream -Tarte - BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen
rated 4 of 5
Loci80015 3/19/2013 2:59:00 PM

For starters, I initially wanted to purchase a true BB cream (had my eyes on MISSHA Signature Gold). I kept reading about BB creams from Asia and was tempted, but then I came across this product. From what I read, this is nothing like a traditional BB cream. When I first tried it, the texture reminded me a lot of Yves Saint Laurent's Matt Touch Foundation. But boy did this out perform that foundation. So on to my review: Pros: -Lightweight, silky feeling (like a primer due to the silicones) and easily blendable. Not sure how you'd use this with a brush, but my fingers did the trick. -I bought "Light" for my NC25 skin and the match was spot on (although it takes a few minutes to blend and sink in) -The coverage is buildable but only to maybe a "medium" coverage. It does not fully cover blemishes no matter how much you put on. I love that it is light to medium though. I am trying to avoid the "caked on" look that my minerals alone have been giving me after a few hours of wear. -Gives a great base for those, like myself, who need a little bit more cover -Staying power is amazing and it keeps my mineral makeup sitting on top looking fresh and not oily. (For those adding minerals or another foundation on top, give Tarte foundation a full 5 minutes or so to blend in and set). -Because it blends so well into the skin, my bronzer/blush combo just pops. So pretty!!!! -Thus far, no break outs! CONS: -Not a one stop foundation...... for me at least. I put Laura Mercier minerals on top and concealed any other spots I had with a concealer. But my makeup looked amazing, so I cannot say it's really that much of a CON. It's just really expensive product for a base (but I can live with that!) -I live in a very dry climate, so I can see how some say that this accentuates dry spots. But for me, my dryness comes from old breakouts and I think this is helping to heal them. So I just put extra moisturizer on those spots. Overall, i love this product despite my initial worry when I put it on. I didn't expect to cover and look as good as I thought, but it did. I am traveling next week with 2 kids in tow, so we'll see how this holds up! I will update !!! QUICK QUESTION: to those who use a concealer with this, do you apply the concealer before or after the tarte bb cream? I am having a hard time making my concealer work with this (I just switched to Napoleon Perdis foundation stick but use as concealer). It's not blending quite right. :/ The tarte still looks amazing though! :) UPDATE: Still having a hard time blending. I am hoping once my skin clears a little, this will look a lot better. Also this is NOT a good primer to wear for flash photography. :( It totally gives you the ghostly appearance. Bummer.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush - Blushing Bride
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 12/12/2012 7:48:00 PM

Ok, so I went to Ulta to find a nice blush for the winter as I am a lot lighter now in the winter months and the bronze look is obviously not cutting it anymore. I had 3 different blushes in my hand, one from Tarte, Bare Minerals and Too Faced. Tarte had such a huge variety, so I decided to try Tarte. Not sure why I went with this color as I tend to lean towards corals and colors like NARS orgasm. But I LOVE IT! For starters, this blush is HIGHLY pigmented. Therefore, it took me a few applications to get it right. First, I bought a separate blush brush. I apply my mineral makeup, then I add just a tad of NARS Laguna bronzer (since it is buildable, I just add a thin layer on nose, cheeks, swipe on forehead, and chin). Finally I add the Tarte blush on top just to my cheeks. It gives me SUCH a pretty flushed color. I thought it was too much, but my mom says it looks awesome on me and she's running out the get the same color (and she's my toughest critic). Others have commented on the sparkle. You can see it in the pan, but I just don't see it on my skin. I see a bright color, slight glow. Other have also commented on the staying power. I agree, this is NOT a 12 hour blush. I would say about 8 hour tops, but it's such a pretty color and it's full proof to apply that I still think it deserves 5 stars!

Tinted Moisturizer -Pur Minerals - 4-in-1 Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 8/26/2012 11:54:00 AM

Wowza! Do I love this product!!!!! I have used this for 2 weeks now..... -I got this in medium. For starters, my body is completely tan, but my face always looks a lot more pale. This gives my face and neck the exact color I need to match the rest of my body. -This dries fairly quickly, so you have to work fast and in sections. I just put some on and rub in a circular motion to let it all sink it. -I don't recommend using this alone. For me at least, it doesn't give me the medium coverage I need and it's way too shiny by itself.....but, you use some powder on top (I use Alima minerals matte) and WOW, this gives the prettiest glow I've ever seen without making you look shiny. -Can't go wrong with the fact that this works as a susncreen, primer, moisturizer (although I do moisturize since I live in a dry climate) all in one. -Not one single breakout This make my skin glow, look absolutely flawless (with powder on top) and I just can't say enough good things about this product. The downside I can see is that there may not be a color match for everyone and it takes some getting use to when applying it properly. You have to try this!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - ACURE Oil Control Day Cream
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 6/18/2012 10:50:00 AM

Awesome. I use the eraser balm at night, but dab a little bit of the balm on my face before I apply this moisturizer. It's lightweight and really helps control the oil. It's very dry where i live and right now with 90+ degree days and being out in the sun a lot with my kids, I do notice that I get a little shiny (I use LM mineral foundation), but I don't fault the moisturizer. It's just HOT and no makeup can stand up to that kind of heat. Back to the moisturizer though, again, it's lightweight, but moisturizing. It sinks into skin very easily. Does not cause breakouts. I switched from Alba's Brazilian Oil control moisturizer to Acure's and I am way more impressed with this stuff!

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Acure Eraser Balm
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 5/26/2012 1:06:00 PM

HG! I was at Sunflower market wanting to buy the pure Argan oil, but they were all out. They had this balm instead that includes argan oil and borage oil and other essential oils. I haven't used it long enough to see if this actually "erases" wrinkles, but boy does it do wonder on spots and acne. I picked at a zit and had to run to my niece's graduation. I dabbed some of this stuff on and it virtually disappeared in an hour (meaning no pussing and decreased in size, not gone completely of course). I was able to cover it with makeup and it was not even noticeable. I slather this stuff on my entire face at night! The price is really high for the amount of product you get (I paid $16.99 on sale for .5 oz), but a little does go a long way. There is a reason why the Acure organic skin care line is getting such rave reviews. It really works!!!! I also love their Day moisturizer for combo skin. UPDATE: It is very rare (this may be the first time in fact) that I have come back to rave even more about a product. I just love this stuff. It just does something to my skin...makes it more youthful, decreases size of acne, fades marks faster........I've just purchased my 2nd round of this. The price is the only kicker. Since i use this on my entire face at night, I went through it pretty quickly and this time it was not on sale and I paid $19.99. But I will continue to pay for it because i haven't come across anything in the past that even comes close to this stuff. HG for sure!!!!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Taylor Made Organics-Acne Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Loci80015 4/11/2012 8:22:00 PM

All natural, all organic ingredients make this a winner. Really nothing but Pros here: -Ingredient list = awesome (all the ingredients are anti-inflammatory and cleansing, such as Pau d' Arco, Tea tree oil, lemon, witch hazel, lavendar, etc) -Completely dissolves makeup (I always had to use some EVOO to completely remove makeup and now I just use EVOO to remove eye makeup) -Leaves skin nice and smooth and refreshed -Keeps skin under control -$16 not too shabby for something that will last me awhile. One negative is the smell, but it doesn't stay with you which is great. I don't use the entire Acne line as my skin is now maturing so I am using products that help with aging, but this stuff does help with my recurrent breakouts and really helps calm them if I am experiencing any. Really love this stuff!!!!
