Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
LivFormston1 9/25/2012 4:41:00 PM
My skin is the HARDEST thing ever to match colour-wise. I have blue toned/cool skin (meaning my veins have a purple tinge to them) which is very very pale. My dyed pink red hair can look utterly tacky if I wear foundation that's too dark and makes me look orange. I also have naturally dark circles under my eyes and my skin is so so dry without moisturiser, meaning foundation can look yellow and cakey even with the best of efforts. But this stuff is amazing. I chose Rose Ivory (automatically the lightest shade they do) and it blends with my skin perfectly. True, it might not do the best job at covering blemishes, but I don't have many naturally so that wasn't a problem. It's slightly pink tinted instead of yellow which is undetectable on my face. It also has a dewy liquid texture which is a BIG plus for my dry bits, as thick matte foundations are disasterous for me. Thankfully, a foundation I can just squeeze out and blend straight to my face (no more mixing two colours to get it perfect). Will definitely repurchase! :)

Hair Styling Tools -Babyliss - Babyliss Root Boost
LivFormston1 8/21/2012 6:05:00 PM
A friend gave this to me after she bought it and didn't use it at all. My hair is naturally very fine and straight, and also holds styles really well. The crimper itself has very small grooves, which makes it really thin, light and easy to use. It didn't take long to crimp my whole head of roots, as I don't have that much hair, and I found it gave really nice natural volume (not eighties, but still nice). I wouldn't recommend it for thick heavy hair, as I can't imagine making it a massive difference, and I wouldn't pay the £25 my friend did.

Shampoo -LUSH - NEW! Hair
LivFormston1 4/8/2012 10:51:00 AM
I have really fine hair which takes a lot of dyeing and heat treating ever since I was 15. After three years, I noticed it was getting harder to grow, thinner, and breaking easier, so I tried New. I've only had it for a few weeks, but after the first wash, I was amazed. My hair felt and looked soooo shiny and thick. It is quite drying, so I use it with Retread triple strength conditioner and occasionally with Daddy-O violet shampoo (because I adore the smell :P) I personally hated the smell at first, but it really grows on you after you smell it every day. Really spicy and herbally. Have noticed less breakage and dry hair. The only problem for me are the bits of cinnamon that poke you in the scalp! But I found they were easy to pick out. It gives a really thick lather and leaves my hair feeling really clean. Love it...

Moisturizers -LUSH - Cosmetic Lad
LivFormston1 4/4/2012 12:46:00 PM
I love Cosmetic Lad. I have reeeally pale skin which sometimes gets quite red after normal cleansing, but after working for Lush over Christmas I had time to tailor a whole routine around it! I use Aqua Marina cleanser and then Cosmetic Lad over it every day and night, and my dry, dull, rough skin has never been better. Also, I used to suffer from this weird ew-y residue gunk all around the pores of my nose no metter how much cleaning/exfoliating I was doing. But after two weeks of doing this, voila. Gone. Thaaaank you, my beloved Lush.

Cleansers -LUSH - Aqua Marina Cleansing Roll
LivFormston1 4/4/2012 12:34:00 PM
I don't know why this product get so much flack, because it's AMAZING for me. Odd enough everyone's saying it's good for oily skin, because I have incredibly dry skin, and it's sooo beautiful for it. Use a small amount every day before putting on make-up and every night before going to bed. Follow with a moisturiser. Try this for two weeks and I kid you not.... marble skin. Just makes sure it's thoroughly washed off otherwise it does leave dry powdery residue. My skin is soooo so pale, and this calms any excess redness, nourishes my skin and leaves it without a single spot. I ADORE it <3

Liquid -L'Oreal - Lumi Magique Foundation
LivFormston1 4/4/2012 12:21:00 PM
I love this foundation. I have dry, dull and very pale skin, so I started using natural face washes and was advised to go for a dewy foundation instead of a matte one which just enhanced how lack-lustre my skin was, and this is great. It's light, spreads easily with a brush and offers medium coverage. It was also more pinky than yellow which suited my skin well, as I have trouble with looking jaunduced with other foundations :( would definitely buy again

Polishes -Barry M - Foil
LivFormston1 1/28/2012 3:17:00 PM
This nail polish was amazing. Got it in gold for my birthday, and only takes two coats to thoroughly cover. I work in a cosmetics store where my hands are constanly in and out of water, washed, demonstrating cuticle butter and peeling brown tape off boxes, and after four days, there wasn't even a chip. Am planning to get it in silver :)

Fragrances -Diesel - Loverdose EDP
LivFormston1 1/9/2012 11:46:00 AM
EW, is the only word needed saying. I hate this perfume. I tried a small amount of a friend's and whenever I caught a whiff of it, I almost heaved. It's far too sickly sweet, powdery and smells very strongly of liquorice, which I hate. It lingers on your skin for a small amount of time before developing into a heavy burnt sugar smell. Hated it.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Super Liner
LivFormston1 1/9/2012 11:42:00 AM
This is my favourite eyeliner. I use it in Carbon Gloss. I was hopelessly bad at applying any liquid liner before I found this. It's smooth, the applicator is easy to control for thick and thin lines, dries instantly, easy to correct and VERY long lasting (I wear contacts, which means I am constantly touching my eyes, but this doesn't budge). The colour is quite a deep black as well, but seems to lighten slightly, so I need a quick reapply for midday. Still amazing, though.

Hair Color -Schwarzkopf - LIVE Hair Dyes
LivFormston1 1/9/2012 11:37:00 AM
I have natural ash blonde hair that was turning mousier as I was getting older. Not having any of it, I dyed my hair chocolate brown. Since then I've been through a rainbow of colours from black, to ginger, to plum, but this is the only hair dye which has actually suited me, and receives soooo many compliments :) I used the Passion Red colour, and have been using it for the last six months, and I can vouche for it 100%. The ammonia smell is quite strong, but seeing as I wear contact lenses, it didn't affect me much. Just be sure to open a window. The gloves they give you are probably fashioned for mutants, because they are so large, so pick up some fitted latex gloves instead. The colour is slightly drippy, but as soon as it's on your head I've had no problem with it running down my neck/face. The conditioner they give you is INSANELY good, leaving your hair smelling lovely, shiny as hell, smooth and silky. The colour isn't as bright as on the box, but is richer and gorgeous. And I find myself only needing to re-dye it to cover my roots, because the colour hardly fades at all! Get so many compliments because of my fair skin/blue eyes/red hair combination. I've repurchased before, and I'm going to carry on doing so. Thanks, schwarzkopf! :D

Masks -LUSH - Catastrophe Cosmetic
LivFormston1 1/9/2012 8:25:00 AM
I have normal/combination skin that changes regularly, which makes it hard for me to tailor a skin routine around. Then I found Catastrophe. Firstly, the smell was amazing. Very fresh and slightly sweet and earthy, but not too heavy. The texture is like thick yoghurt and spreads over your skin like a dream. I love the fact that there are chunks of blueberry in the mixture as well. It has rose and calamine in to calm any redness (which is a problem for me in the winter) and it leaves your skin amazingly smooth and refreshed after you wash it off. The price is cheap for what you get out of it, and I love the little recycled pots. I've never had any problems with spillage. Love, love, LOVE this. Would definitely buy again
