This review is for the best foundation I have ever used. Goes on smoothly without a primer, can be left without powder although I use a HD powder to set it. I work in construction and I don't have time to muck about retouching my make up during the day and I can't carry loads of cosmetics around a building site so the fact that this goes on, stays on and covers any marks is worth every penny. You do need something fairly industrial to get if off though! The glass bottle packaging is very poor. This stuff is reasonably thick so you have at least a week of scraping around with a cotton bud to get the remnants out and as this is expensive, it's really not good enough. This should come in a squeezy tube. So, my HG foundation is no more. It was great whilst it lasted, I had five years of never having to even look at another foundation, which if you are very pale you will know is nothing short of a miracle. EL has just changed all the colours. Apparently there are now 30 shades suitable for everyone. Well, everyone that is except pale people who have pink undertones. Obviously not enough very pale pink people to make it worth their while making this shade. It's not even as if there is something almost similar. Apparently EL think I have turned yellow overnight. It seems that if you are very pale or very dark, there isn't enough profit for big companies to look after our needs. My local counter gave me a sample of the replacement shade and it's very yellow. In fact, it is so yellow, people actually commented. If you are lucky enough to find a colour that suits you and need a medium coverage that you can build up to heavy when you need it, you truly won't find a better product. I'm off to the MAC counter to see if their long lasting foundation is going to be my replacement...

Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray

I really don't know what to say about this product in terms of using it and its ability to set makeup and keep me looking dewy because the smell was so vile I had to wash it off and open the bathroom windows. I'm not prone to exageration and I really tried to ignore the smell for a few minutes but it just did not disperse. It's a strange chemical smell like burning plastic mixed with sick. Actually it reminds me of that foul YSL perfume that used to be called Champagne before they had to change the name. For what it's worth, I didn't find the spray too bad but it's not a fine mist like hairspray. I feel I should mitigate this bad review by stating that I love the ELF Studio products particularly the eyebrow powder and the HD powder.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Translucent Mattifying Powder

This powder gives me the absolute best finish of any pressed powder I have ever used. I have very fair skin and use EL Double Wear in Shell and have had problems in the past finding a powder that doesn't change colour. This stuff is perfect. It gives an amazing smooth finishing effect over the HD powder that I use to set my foundation. I can use this many times during the day without build up. It is quite small and I always feel that square pans never allow you to get the full amount of powder out so I have got through about 10 of these but it is almost churlish to mention this given the price. Very sturdy packaging and I have not had any problems with powder breaking even though I carry this compact with me all the time in my bag that often gets thrown in the back of my car when I am working.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit

I have always used a pencil to darken my brows and slightly extend them. I thought I would give this a try. I don't really need to use the wax part of the product; I just use an angled brush to tint my brows with the powder and it gives a very natural effect. The wax is great for a dramatic evening effect but a bit much on me for every day. I have recommended this product to a relative with grey hair and she uses the ash tone and is also very happy with the product. Packaging as usual with the studio range far exceeds expectations. I've had this for about three months and there is hardly a dent in the powder so great value for money.
