Treatments -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solution

This product is absolutely awful. I am pretty angry that I spent so much money on it. I have acne prone skin, but nothing too awful - it has always been manageable and easy to cover with foundation. Whilst I was finishing my dissertation my skin started breaking out loads (I guess from stress) so I decided to try this stuff. They said it would get worse before it got better.....well they got the first bit right! My skin has never been so bad, not even when I was in my teens! I thought it was my new primer causing me to break out at first so I switched it out of my routine, but that didn't help so I tried stopping using the 3 step system instead and my skin started to clear up in less than 2 days! What a massive waste of money.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
LisaOrestea 2/4/2011 7:26:00 AM
I am not a fan of liquid foundation....but I do really like this. For starters...IT ACTUALLY COMES IN MY COLOUR! Most brands don't do a shade light enough for me (or if they do its too pinky). The packaging is great. I really like the pump on it. I also like that the bottle is wide and short, rather than thin and tall - cause I can stand it in my traincase and the case will still shut :) It does say "full coverage" which I don't really think is correct. Its more of a medium coverage foundation (which is what Im looking for at the moment.) It doesn't cover blemishes completely but I use a concealer for that anyway so that doesn't bother me too much. Its really really easy to blend and the finish is gorgeous once on the skin. I do think that you need fairly ok skin to be able to pull this off though (mine is better than usual at the moment. I would be interested to see how it holds up when my skin is being mean to me.) The glitter scared me at first. But I use a mattifying finishing powder over the top and after that you can't see the glitter at all which is a relief. I don't like the compact powder from the same range as this though - that seems to just make the foundation appear patchy for some reason :S So yeah, I really like this. Much more so than any other liquid foundation I have ever tried :)

Lipstick -MAC - The Faerie Glen lipstick
LisaOrestea 11/10/2010 5:14:00 PM
Love this colour. I have been searching for my pefect nude lipstick for ages and the closest ones I have found have always been too pink for me (someone compared this to Cherish, which is very similar, but was a little too pink for my skin tone - this is like, cherish's sister :D)...but this is PERFECT for me. I love the brown undertones (which is funny, cause a lot of reviews I have read state the brown tones as a negative!) And the name is gorgeous haha. Will definitely try and grab a backup of this one.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Eyeshadow in Blue Flame
LisaOrestea 11/2/2010 7:16:00 AM
I havn't touched this eyeshadow since I bought it on Style Black launch day - because I just couldn't get it to look right. I don't like using shadows wet cause I find them impossible to blend, and dry (even with blackground as a base) it is just a bit "meh" compared to a lot of other shadows that I own. However - I just tried this over Fyrinnae's 'Pixie Epoxy' and its GORGEOUS! A little annoying that the only way to get it to work is by buying something from another brand, but it is extremely pretty this way.

Eye Shadow -Illamasqua - Pure Pigment - Static

This is gorgeous. I have both this and MAC's reflects transparent pink and this is a million times prettier! Looks amazing patted onto black eyeliner! Not too keen on the packaging, I find the lids kinda hard to take off. Thats the only downside though :)

Masks -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask
LisaOrestea 4/19/2010 5:49:00 PM
when I read christinakings review of this (where she said about the vein under her eye showing up) I thought she was overexaggerating - but I tried this and the exact same thing happened, it seemed to make the skin around my eyes kind of transparent. It did make the rest of my skin softer - but the vein thing scared me off. I won't be using this again. I might try and take it back although I don't know what their returns policy is like. The lid of the pot didn't screw on properly too - but I have other masks of theirs which are fine so I guess it must just be that particular one :(

Lipstick -Illamasqua - Submit
LisaOrestea 2/5/2010 3:57:00 PM
I love illamasqua as a brand. And I have loved everything I have tried by them....until this :( I bought it because it was being discontinued, and therefore was 50% off on their website. I was still on the hunt for my perfect nude lipstick so I thought I may as well give it a go. I got the package this morning....opened it up...and there it was, what looked like my perfect nude lipstick! Then I tried to put it on..... ...the tube starts off REALLY plasticy. You have to try and apply it a couple of times before you actually get any colour payoff! So I worked with it until it had "eased in" a bit. And when I got it to apply - the colour was perfect. Exactly what I had been looking for! So I was happy for about half an hour. But after that time the lipstick started to dry out so much it was crumbling off my lips! (not a good look.) One other issue with this lipstick is the packaging. Its horrible and clumpy. I have never used a totally square lipstick tube before but it is really fiddly! Nowhere near as nice as the mac lipstick tubes! I am going to keep on trying to get this to work for me, because colourwise it is exactly what I had hoped it would be. Im thinking that using burts bees underneath it might help it be less drying.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Reflects transparent teal
LisaOrestea 2/5/2010 3:50:00 PM
Like most people have said, I doubt I could ever run out of this....but if I did then I would repurchase in a flash! The glitter in this is the same colour as my hair...so it literally goes with everything I wear! It looks like magic in the pot. I really cant think of a better way to describe it (I said it to the woman working in MAC when I bought it and she looked at me like I was crazy haha!) But imagine what you think tinkerbell style pixie dust would look like....and thats pretty much how this looks in the pot :) My favourite combinations with this are with bluey greeny shadows like urban decay's peace, and mac's teal pigment. I often use it all over the lid on top of the shadow, or as a liner (which is my favourite way to use this glitter :)) But yeah, I cant rave about it enough. Im going to shut up before it gets boring haha!

Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder in True Romantic
LisaOrestea 2/5/2010 3:45:00 PM
This blush is lovely to use on days when I don't want to go all out with makeup. It just gives a really natural colour to my cheeks, and is easy to apply lightly. I love the formula of the beauty powder blushes and still have yet to find one that I don't love...so I am probably a tad biased, but I really think that the BPBs are one of MAC's best products!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Vanilla
LisaOrestea 2/5/2010 3:41:00 PM
This is the only pigment I can ever see myself using up. I am SO sad that they have changed the packaging for this, but luckily I managed to obtain a big one before the change...so when this runs out, I think I will buy a new one, and decant into the old container (because the new taller jars wont fit in my pigment drawer :'() But yeah, perfect highlight colour. Gorgeous to mix with lipgloss...just the most versatile cosmetic item that I own!

Blush -Illamasqua - Katie
LisaOrestea 10/11/2009 2:38:00 PM
This colour is beautiful. I wasn't 100% how it was going to look on my skin as I am olive toned, but it is a stunning soft baby pink. It does really make me wish I was paler, because I can imagine it looks even better on paler skin. This is SERIOUSLY pigmented. It is so easy to put on too much if you are used to using MAC blushers. You literally need to touch the brush to the pan and you will have more than enough product. My only complaint is the packaging. I find the clasp really stiff and difficult to open. I really hope that it sort of "eases in" because it is very annoying that it takes that long to open it.

Masks -The Body Shop - Blue Corn Mask
LisaOrestea 10/3/2009 3:07:00 AM
I bought this on reccomendation from my mum and sister. I found it quite hard to get hold of cause the shops are ALWAYS out of stock of this, but I managed to find some on eBay. I have bad skin, its not dreadful but its definatly not good. I havn't felt comfortable leaving the house without foundation since I was about 14/15. I have been using this product for 3 days now, and before those three days, my skin was the worst it has been in a long long time. Today is the first day in ages I have woken up feeling like I could just leave the hosue with no makeup and still feel confident! The first couple of days it seemed to bring out spots a little bit more, but today they are pretty much gone completely. I am honestly shocked that it worked this fast. They had better not be discontinuing this. Im stocking up while I have the chance!

Toners -LUSH - Tea Tree Water
LisaOrestea 9/16/2009 2:31:00 AM
This is no miracle product but I do like it. On its own it is fine as a toner, gets cleanser's off and stuff. BUT I also use it to make a sea salt face mask. I put the sea salt into the tub, and spray enough of this onto the salt until it goes a little mushy. Then I put the mask on my face and leave it for 15 minutes. Its very good. And hugely pore minimising, which is always nice :)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Sea Salt Mask

This is amazing. So cheap, yet so effective. I honestly can't believe how much money I have wasted on face washes/mask's that say they clear up bad skin...when I could have just been using this stuff! I have been using it as a mask every other evening, and as an exfoliator every morning for a fortnight now, and my skin is noticably better. Will definatly continue to use.

Lipstick -MAC - Pro Lipstick - Show Orchid
LisaOrestea 8/19/2009 11:52:00 AM
This is my first Fuschia lipstick. I have always been a bit nervous about them, but after purchasing St Germain and reialising that it wasn't too hard to pull off...I decided I definatly needed a Fuschia. It is a gorgeous colour, and surprisingally wearable (though I would imagine it looks a bit odd during the day in Winter.) Put it on this morning and it is still bright as anything at 5 in the afternoon, after eating lunch (this is with no primer at all.) Would definatly repurchase.
