Blush -MAC - Blush Ombre -Azalea Blossom
Lina 2/21/2010 2:16:00 PM
I really wanted to love this but have mixed feelings. I'm the equivalent of a NC30 right now and this blush was just too cool-toned for me. I love the size, packaging, pigment and texture of the blush. The cool-toned aspect just left my face looking a little too powdery and a little too doll-like-fake. Mixing with the Refined Golden Bronzer helps to warm it up a bit. But in my opinion you can get a better effect with Dame or Well Dressed. I plan on trying to use the purple for eyes and try to use the pink for cheeks. Summed up - I liked everything about this blush except for the fact the color just wasn't working so well for my skintone.

Lipstick -Dolce & Gabbana - The Classic Lipstick in Charm (140)
Lina 10/2/2009 1:02:00 AM
I have this lipstick pictured with Coffee & Black eyeliners and also with some other D&G lipsticks for comparison. I really love this lipstick (NC30-35, Chanel Shell/Beige). It's a shimmery pinky-rose with golden shimmer that gives a healthy but not too bright lip-look. It leans more towards the cool side, but the shimmer makes it go on more neutral. Has a slight flowery scent which I'm not a fan of, but it does fade. Great pigment, lasting power is ok, one of my favorite colors from D&G.

Eye Shadow -Dolce & Gabbana - The eyeshadow - CHAMPAGNE 100 (quad)
Lina 10/2/2009 12:56:00 AM
This was one of the first D&G makeup products I purchased sight unseen. It has a shimmery white, shimmery cool greyish silver, a satin black and satin grey-brown. The black and brown shades are more matte, but still have some depth to it. The pigmentation is excellent and shadows are very blendable. Colors are classic and very wearable - just not very unique and easily dupable.

Eyes -Stila - Kitten Smudgepot
Lina 9/13/2009 5:25:00 PM
The Kitten Smudge Pot is a light shimmery champagne cream eye product - while gorgeous, I just don't really love it. I am a huge fan of Stila's Smudge Pots because they make great liners which you can use a number of different ways. I bought kitten intending to use it as cream eyeshadow since I felt pale liner would look odd on me and I don't line inner rims. The color is very pretty, but as a cream eyeshadow, it was a bit too dry, even with a bit of eyecream added, it didn't work out so well. That being said, I do like it and will continue to use it, I just wish that it was a cream eyeshadow because the color is gorgeous and looks like something I would wear all over the lid instead of a liner. YMMV on this one.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
Lina 9/3/2009 10:52:00 PM
I just tried and bought this at Nordstrom in Punjab. I have normal but super sensitive skin in medium olive tones. My current HG foundations include Chanel Teint Innocence/Lift Lumiere in Shell and Armani Lasting Silk in 6.5. I have a hard time finding a good match in other lines b/c I'm usually right in between shades (for example MAC I'm right in between NC30 and NC35). The coverage is medium but looks completely natural on the skin which is a lot better than their Oil Free formula which I could definitely feel. My only complaint is that I wish they would come with a pump like the testers. * UPDATE 2/2010* I was talking to a NARS artist about the pumps with these foundations. She said "I know everyone wishes they had the pumps, but you're supposed to shake them up before you use them which is why NARS doesn't include the pumps with the products he sells." I have no idea if this is actually the case or not, but since I started shaking up my bottle before use, it applies better on my skin.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Couleurs Designer All-In-One Artistry - Amber Design 708
Lina 5/22/2009 6:39:00 PM
These were just released in the US in four different palette colors. The Amber Design palette has gorgeous colors in it, a pearly base color, sparkley golden light peach, a yellowy orangey gold, a pretty smokey chocolate brown, and a creamy dark espresso liner. While the colors are absolutely gorgeous, the lasting power of these is mediocre. I will experiment more with different eye bases, but when I tried this last week, the colors faded within 1 hour after application. My skin is normal/sensitive.

Treatments -Chanel - Rectifiance Intense Serum
Lina 3/30/2009 1:02:00 PM
Bought this at a Chanel event since the MA told me it would smooth out the rough areas on my skin. I had tried a MAC foundation a week before and my skin went crazy. She said the Rectifiance Serum would help bring my skin back to normal. I had tried the Rectifiance Fluid before and my skin reacted to it, I thought it was because of the SPF in it, so I decided to try the Serum and see if it worked. PROS: The serum went on smoothly and did make the skin appear smooth and flawless and felt silky. CONS: After using it, red dots appeared on my forehead and cheeks. I used this for 2 weeks to see if it was really the serum, but each time I used it, I had reddish bumps on my skin after an hour. Definitely did not work for me, but I'd recommend you get a sample and try it first because it felt great, even if the results made my skin look awful.

Lip Gloss -Le Metier de Beaute - Lip Creme Lip Gloss - Sweet Creme
Lina 3/23/2009 11:29:00 AM
Since I've gotten into Le Metier, I've loved almost every single thing I've ordered sight unseen. Sweet Creme is an exception. It's a sheer milky light lilac pink color without any shimmer. For me, it basically goes on clear, which I found suprising since the Lip Creme formulas are supposed to be highly pigmented. Definitely not worth the high price tag. Will not be repurchasing.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick - Cakeshop
Lina 3/23/2009 11:26:00 AM
I'm a NC35 and love this color. I love that it goes on lighter and less green on the lids vs. swatched on the back of your hand. It goes on a pretty silvery soft color with a hint of seafoam-green. Very pretty for spring IMHO. I think most of the shadesticks go on sheer, but I like it and think there's enough color for a pretty base or even to wear alone. But I like my shadows natural looking.

Lip Gloss -Le Metier de Beaute - Lip Creme Lip Gloss - Fraise
Lina 3/14/2009 12:22:00 PM
The Metier Lip Cremes are a cross between a lipgloss and lipstick. I would rate these as full coverage. Fraise is a gorgeous shimmery soft strawberry color with gold shimmer. It's a berry-pink that definitely has a rosey color, but it's not too bright or intense. Texture is almost like a mousse to me. Not-drying.

Lip Gloss -Le Metier de Beaute - Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss - Ibiza
Lina 3/14/2009 12:16:00 PM
This is my favorite out of all the Metier glosses I bought. Gorgeous shimmery warm natural pink. Pigment is on the sheer side, but the color is so pretty I don't mind. More pics in profile. It's the first one on the left in the picture at the top of the screen.

Lip Gloss -Le Metier de Beaute - Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss - Cannes
Lina 3/14/2009 12:12:00 PM
Gorgeous shimmery cool pink with gold flecks. Pigmentation is on the sheerer side (about the same as Becca IMHO or a MAC Lustreglass). Slightly scented with a slight cotton candy-like smell, but it fades after application. Smooth texture and non sticky. Would definitely repurchase. For comparison, it's a warmer less lilac-y version of Dubai. Taking off one lippie for sheerness and high price tag.

Lipstick -MAC - Big Bow - Hello Kitty
Lina 2/22/2009 6:48:00 AM
Wanted to love this with all the raves and gorgeous swatches. I'm a NC30 right now (usually more tan). This went on my lips a garish bright pink, very unnatural and unflattering. Was a huge disappointment as it looks gorgeous on so many others! Pigment was pretty good for a glaze finish l/s though.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - Hello Kitty Brush Set
Lina 2/16/2009 9:46:00 PM
I was skeptical of this since I usually don't like their SE brushes that come in their holiday sets. I purchased this anyways for the cute cup and was suprised that I didn't hate the brushes. The quality isn't as good as the full sized hand made ones, however, I tried all three yesterday and today and love them! They apply makeup just fine. They aren't scratchy or irritating to the skin. Ended up hunting 3 more brush sets down to send to my sister and 2 of my friends I know would love it. Cup is pretty hefty/sturdy too. It's a lot heavier than I expected for a plastic cup.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara
Lina 12/10/2008 10:35:00 PM
Bought this today and love it. Was hesitant b/c I tried Chanel mascaras with the rubber brush end and didn't like them, but the MA told me if I loved Diorshow I would like this better. Gives a dramatic thick lashes look without clumping. I put on two coats and it really makes the eyes stand out. No smudging or flaking. Will definitely repurchase and alternate this one with my regular black Diorshow Mascara.
