Masks -Unlisted Brand - Sea Salt Mask
LilyJ 4/15/2013 5:24:00 PM
Wish I had discovered this sooner! I had run out of bicarbonate of soda, and I wanted to make a mask to deep clean and treat some spots I had. So I decided to try out a sea salt maks. I used Maldon salt. Wow, the results were impressive. Skin looked clearer and blemishes had toned down. Also my pores have shrunk dramatically! I now use it as a toner twice a day, and the condition of my skin has changed so much already after just a few days. Pores and smaller, more even skin tone, blemishes are clearing up and scars are fading.

Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Glamour Ultra Care mascara
LilyJ 2/19/2013 7:00:00 PM
The mascara itself is good, but the brush is horrible and the application was clumpy and flaky. So I washed the brush from my old Bourjois Volume Glamour mascara and used that instead, and it was much better.

Other -Unlisted Brand - Oil Pulling
LilyJ 1/17/2013 7:17:00 AM
I began to do Oil Pulling as I was using Coconut Oil for beauty purposes and kept seeing it mentioned. I wanted to whiten my teeth, but they were very sensitive and whitening products would make it worse. I did think it sounded bonkers and couldn't understand how oil could help teeth, but I gave it a go, and have done it every day since! After a few days I noticed many changes, not just to my teeth. It is quite gross to begin with, but the effects are immediate and worth the time and effort. After just one session my mouth was healing. The effects I have had so far: Mouth- whiter stronger teeth, feel more solid in my mouth, less sensetive, gums are pink, receeding gumlines gone, no sores Skin- acne and scarring cleared up, eczema healing, skin softer overall, dark circles have decreased by around 50%. Wellbeing- more energy, less food cravings, feel more balanced, mood more stable, less joint pain, sleeping better, breathing much easier, nose and chest cleared, eyes are sparkling. I have joint problems and have noticed I am much less achey since Oil Pulling and the increase in energy and wellbeing helps me deal with the chronic pain. So if you suffer with a joint condition it's worth giving this a go. As I can't take painkillers all the time but need pain relief, I looked for natural alternatives and turmeric and OPing seem to help. People have been noticing that I don't look so tired since I started OPing, and my eyes have a sparkle to them and I look more healthy. And I'm always getting comments on how nice my teeth look. I am so happy to see others who have been helped with OPing, particularly with health issues! I would also say that I haven't noticed much difference between using Coconut Oil and Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil. CPSO is the more economical oil to use, I would say.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
LilyJ 8/2/2012 8:56:00 AM
I drink 1 tbs mixed into red tea every day. I use a straw to avoid enamel damage. I also use as a toner, mix it equal parts with green or red tea, twice a day. It's lessened pore size, acne scarring, skin is softer, and drinking it has lessened breakouts and my skin is less oily. After I started to drink it, I had a breakout, like a skin purge, then my skin got a lovely glow and my acne soon cleared up.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Hydrogen Peroxide
LilyJ 8/1/2012 8:21:00 PM
I used this for a while to whiten my teeth but it made them super sensetive. I've switched to using Coconut Oil instead which works much better and doesn't damage my teeth. If you are going to use this for acne, I would just apply is sparingly with a cotton bud. Using this as a toner will age and dry out your skin. Use Apple Cider Vinegar instead as it helps acne and scarring and doesn't damage skin.

HG product. This stuff is amazing. It deep cleanses pores, helps heal acne, improves scarring, evens skin tone and leaves skin so soft. I mix a heaped tsp with a tsp of warm water, and leave on for about 30 minutes.

Skincare - Face -Trilogy - Rosehip Oil
LilyJ 7/31/2012 2:48:00 PM
HG product. I have greasy skin that is prone to clogged pores so wasn't sure about using an oil on my skin. But it's amazing stuff. Within a few days I had a nice glow, it hadn't triggered a breakout, acne scars and skin tone was improved. Fine lines have decreased. I can even wear it under my primer and foundation and it's not greasy. I use it morning and night.

I have finally found the perfect nude colour! It's a really nice pale, creamy pink colour, with a beautiful shine. Easy to apply, with no streaking. Gives a nice healthy, clean manicured look where you can see the whites on the nail.

I don't really like colour glitter, but this silver glitter is really cute. I put on 2 coats of basecoat, and just 1 coat of the Set in Stones.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
LilyJ 7/31/2012 8:10:00 AM
HG product. I always use the dispersible aspirin because you get a finer grit. Just add a few drops of water til it disolves, then add some honey. Leave on for about 30 minutes. Rinse off in a circular motion to exfoliate. Has helped my acne and scarring so much, and skin is smoother. Plus it's so cheap!

Styling Products -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil
LilyJ 7/31/2012 8:05:00 AM
This is now a HG product. I have really lank, fine, lifeless, damaged, oily hair, so I was not sure about using an oil. I used quite a bit the first time, from root to tipd on damp hair, and couldn't believe the results. I was expecting a greasy, lanky mess, but my hair was so smooth and shiny and soft. My roots have volume, not greasy like I expected, and the ends are shiny and healthy looking. My hair was very damaged from colouring and daily drying, but it feels nourished and stronger. The smell is gorgeous too. I use it every day, and haven't had any problem with build up.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Oatmeal
LilyJ 7/31/2012 7:54:00 AM
I use it daily as a face mask, it's super moisturising and soothing. I grind the oats and add some warm water, and leave on for about 30 minutes. I have sensetive skin, so it's great for any allergies or breakouts. Recently I had dermatitis on my hands, and they were so sore and itchy and burning up. Nothing would help, so I put some of the oatmeal mask on them, and wow. Immediate relief, it was so soothing and stopped the itching.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
LilyJ 7/31/2012 7:51:00 AM
This is a HG product for me. I use the virgin coconut oil. *Oil Pulling. I pull CO for 20 minutes in the morning. After a few days I have noticed: Whiter teeth, healthier mouth (I had sore gums from overbrushing), skin is softer, eyes are brighter, more energy, nose is clearer, sleeping better, clear mind, better memory, feel happier. *Every night I put some in my hair, and plait it. Then shampoo out in the morning, my hair is so soft. And I use a tiny amount-much less than serum, on my dry hair to smooth it. *Use it as a makeup remover *Mix with turmeric and apply to dark circles *I use it as a night moisturiser and hand cream, and doesn't clog my pores *Mix 1/2 tsp coconut oil and 1/2 tsb baking soda for a cuticle and nail scrub/ softener *Take it after every meal to aid digestion *Great for soothing my eczema breakouts and dry skin *Keep it in a small pot in my handbag to use as lip balm *Also, put some on my dog before grooming, it makes her coat much easier to comb and detangles!

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Turmeric
LilyJ 7/31/2012 7:44:00 AM
I originally used turmeric to treat acne scarring, but have noticed acne clearing up, brighter skin and more even skin tone. I use it around my eyes to help with dark circles. I mix 3 tbs of yogurt and a heaped tsp of turmeric, and keep in the fridge and use as a mask, daily. Wear gloves when doing this, and when rinsing off. I also mix turmeric and cocnut oil and apply around my eyes and the skin is much brighter and lighter, and dark circles have reduced. I apply it with a cotton bud. I don't waste money on products to treat scarring or uneven skin tone, this is the best product I've found.

Other -Unlisted Brand - Baking Soda
LilyJ 7/31/2012 7:35:00 AM
This is one of my HG products. I discovered it while looking for ways to deep clean pores and treat acne. After trying so many expensive cleansers and pore strips I couldn't believe the results. After just one steam/ mask session most of my blackheads were gone. Plus, it's so cheap! My acne has cleared up, scarring has improved, and my skin has a nice glow to it and it's much smoother. These are the ways I use it *I use it daily as a face mask, about a heaped tsp of bicarb with enough water to make a paste, and some honey. I scoop up the mix with a cotton wool ball which soaks up the excess water. Then apply in a circular motion, and leave for as long as I can, sometimes up to 45 minutes. I rinse using a circular motion to exfoliate. Once a week, I steam my face for about 10 minutes, and then apply the mask to deep clean pores. *Once a week I add to my shampoo to get rid of product build up and deep clean my hair. Leaves it squeaky clean without drying it out *I am allergic to most skin products, so I use it as a body scrub and leaves my skin so smooth *I brush my teeth with it. Doesn't taste the best but it's a good way to gently get rid of stains. I have wasted so much money on expensive acne creams that burned my skin, bicarb has been a miracle product for me.
