This is the one makeup item I cannot live without. It makes such a difference. Just a little bit of concealer under my eyes & it makes it look like all my skin is flawless & even. I pat it on with my finger usually, but sometimes I do use a brush. Either way, it's great. I use Sand & it's great at evening out my dark circles & reducing shininess under the eye. In the summer I pat it down with powder but in the winter when my skin is drier I just use it on its own. A great investment!

This is my ultimate go-to everyday lipstick & it goes with absolutely everything. Light enough not to be overbearing but enough color to make your lips stand out nicely. I love this lipstick! I wear it with Spice lipliner by MAC & it always does the trick. I wear this lipstick 90% of the time & find it goes well if you're wearing heavier eye makeup or if you're using a light touch. Love it!

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Youth Dew

I adore Youth Dew. When my mom would go out when I was younger, she used to spray some behind her knees & then get ready to leave & between the spray behind the knees (which I thought was such a sexy place to spray perfume) & the earthy, sexy smell of the Youth Dew, I just thought THIS is what it means to be a beautiful, sexy woman. She stopped wearing it for a while until I found an old bottle of it in her bathroom & tried it out for myself. The smell is not for everyone. With so many perfumes being so light, fruity, & citrusy now, I can see why people aren't used to such a musky or "heavy" kind of perfume. I like it though b/c it takes a certain kind of woman to wear it. You have to kind of EARN the right to be the kind of woman who can pull off Youth Dew but, like it or not, it's sexy as hell. It's a vintage kind of perfume so you have to be ready for that if you're going to try it. I like it but it's like I would never wear Chanel No. 5 because I think it's WAY too strong, but it's the classic perfume of all time so what do I know? Perfumes were just different back in the day. I have half a bottle left but am disappointed to have read that Estee changed the formulation so now it doesn't smell the same so it's like the end of an era which (no pun intedned) stinks! Also, if you have the old formulation (or with any vintage perfume), spray it into the air & walk through the mist b/c if you spray it directly on your skin it WILL be way too strong. Worth a shot if you can find an old bottle somewhere.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

I bought this liner to replace an old Bobbi Brown gel liner I had. The price was right & the brush looked amazing to do a cat's eye look. While the gel is the same quality as Bobbi Brown & the brush is a very nice size, surprisingly I find Maybelline's Eye Studio Liquid Liner pen much easier to control when usually it is the opposite for liquid & gel liners. While I think the brush is great, it's just too hard to get a thin line with it & sometimes you can, sometimes not so much. If you like to spend the time & you like a somewhat thicker line then I'm sure this is great b/c it is longwearing & just like most other higher end gel liners but I find the liquid pen the one I use for everyday.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner

Always wanted to master the classic cat's eye liner look but never could manage it before until I found this product & a tutorial on YouTube. Now I am practically a master! The first time I tried this liner I thought I would return it b/c there was not enough control for me but try it a few times & you will easily get the hang of it. The fact that you use it like a pen makes it so easy. As far as other liquid liners I have tried, this is by far the easiest to use. The third day I had this, a bunch of the liner spilled out onto my hand (I think I was holding it downwards & pressed too hard?) but once I cleaned it up it never happened again. Thought that would be a problem but luckily not. Maybe it was just that particular one. I use this every day & have noticed the liner comes out beautifully when you first start lining the eye but by the time I get to the actual cat's eye corners it doesn't really flow smoothly & I have trouble getting a clean line like when I first start using it. (I use cream eyeliner blotted underneath - maybe that's the problem?) The first corner I do always comes out great but I DO have to work harder on the second eye to get it just right & have to fix it with makeup remover & try it again more than I would like but overall this is a great product & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I even bought a second one to carry in my purse in case I need to do a touch up but haven't ever needed to b/c it wears beautifully.

Can't live without makeup remover. I will not use anything else on my eyes & usually they can be pretty sensitive. Don't love the price but it is 100% worth it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

I really want to love this mascara, especially after all of the love it seems to get in magazines but I hate it! It does NOTHING to lengthen OR thicken lashes. I know Tyra Banks says she is faithful to it but I can't imagine why, especially after all of the makeup she must be privvy to. So disappointing. I just don't get the hype.

When Bobbi Brown first came out, this is one of the first lipsticks I invested in & wore when I wanted a more dramatic look. Now I look back at pictures & can't believe I ever wore it - talk about unflattering! I can't imagine that this orangey red would look good on anyone but those with the darkest of skintones.

This was the very first lipstick I ever became really loyal to & it has been one of my favorites for years. It worked well for me before I discovered a true red lipstick that would work for me but it can be a nice change from red, especially in the fall. Too bad it's discontinued...

Lipstick -MAC - Cherish Lipstick

I've been wearing Cherish on & off for years now & I have always loved it. With just a thin line of Spice lipliner (or any other nude liner) it is just the right amount of pale pink & as I have porcelain white skin, it does not was me out or look too nude, it is the perfect pale pink to give you that 60s look in a very modern way (you won't feel like you're playing Mad Men dress-up in it). I think it all depends on the liner but for a pale pink lipstick, you can't beat it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared

This is my new everyday mascara FOREVER! Went from L'Oreal Lash Out to Bobbi Brown Party Mascara to Maybelline Volume Express, until I found this one, that is! My cousin had this on during the holidays & I literally thought she was wearing strip lashes b/c her lashes looked so amazing. Tried it for myself & while you always have to let a mascara "thicken" for about a week when you first start using it before it really does the trick, this mascara does wonders for my eyes. I take the wand out once, go back & forth between each side 3 times while they're still wet, then dip it in once again & give a final layer to each side & my lashes look amazing. I wear black liquid liner, but work at a conservative job, so while I like that retro look, strip lashes for day would be way too much for me. This mascara gives me the best of both worlds - retro glam for every day...

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam I - the original

A true go-to classic! I literally looked for YEARS for a red lipstick that wouldn't change to orange or pink as soon as I put it on my lips. Exasperated, I thought I'd give Viva Glam I a try & it worked! Love that it's matte but not drying & lasts almost all day long through eating & drinking. The color is a deeper, blueish red (although still a true red) that is super flattering without being to bright or making you look like a clown. I wear red a lot & prefer this color for the fall & winter & wear a brighter Revlon red in the spring & summer but this is a product that every woman MUST have in her makeup kit. Super sexy & very pretty...

Lip Liners -Revlon - Colorstay Lipliner in Red 675

Great red liner that truly does go with ALL red lipsticks (& I wear a lot of red.) Liner really stays put & even though it isn't a liner that you can sharpen (usually my preference) I actually find that for reds, I like this one better so you get a clean line, but not one that it too sharp or thin. Can't beat the price, color or quality in my book!

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick Really Red

My worst problem with this product was finding one! I tried two CVS stores that don't carry this color in their Revlon section & I had to go to two Rite Aids before I found only one left but was happy to scoop it up. I am a MAC Viva Glam girl but was noticing that it is a little darker than I would like for Spring/Summer so I thought I would try a brighter red & Revlon mastered reds years ago so why not give them a try? The problem with Revlon's normal SuperLusterous reds is the formulation. It is too slick & always ends up looking too glossy & clownish on me, unless you blot the heck out of them & who wants to do that every time you reapply? So finding a matte Revlon red was perfect. The color is a true bright, 1950s movie star red & I love it. Better still is the fact that the color in the tube is what you get on your lips. Usually reds change on me & end up looking too pink or orange but this color is exactly as it should be. The matte aspect is great, although some may need to use it with a lip balm underneath but it holds up well either way & I am very pleased with it. My new everyday red!

Polishes -Revlon - Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel

*PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW* ORIGINAL - I just got this in Red Carpet & put it on the other day - so far, so good. The only problem I had was I accidentally dragged my nail along the end of a zipper but it just mad ethe TINIEST scratch you can barely even notice, whereas with other nail polishes it would have chipped right away. As to what some other people have said about this nail polish, DON'T BE DISMAYED! I didn't find the smell to be any stronger than any other nail polish & as far as drying time, I just put on 2 coats of the polish (without a base coat) & that was enough to be fully opaque for the red color I chose. I used an Instant Dry top coat & my nails were dry within 5 minutes. I made sure not to do any tough stuff with them for like another hour just to be safe but they never gave me any problem so I think people were just using too much polish or the wrong kind of top coat. Also, my nails are SO shiny. They look amazing, esp. with the bright red color. I am loving it so far & I got mine for $7.99 & don't think that's too much to pay for a good nail polish. I will update in a few days to let you know how it holds up... UPDATE - I did get a chip in 3 days, even though it says "chip-free" for up to 11, but that being said, I have nails that peel quite easily, so I noticed it was really more about my type of nails than the actual polish itself & it was only one nail, which could easily be fixed without doing another full mani. As for a red nail polish, I feel that this one holds up just as well as if not better than others & the shine is incomparable. For me, the occasional chip to repair is no biggie, just one light swipe over it & let it dry or for a bigger problem, two coats & then some Instant Dry. Either way, it only takes 5 minutes or less so I think this is a great polish & it will be my go-to red polish from now on. A great buy!
