Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
LiisUsa 3/2/2013 6:32:00 PM
I decided to finally try Mac and was disappointed. I would compare Matchmaster to many of the L'oreal or Revlon foundations I've tried: too heavy, too opaque, and not just makeuppy looking but unflattering. This stuff clung to every line, wrinkle and pore -- I was surprised it was supposedly a "high end" product. When I want medium to full coverage it's back to Make Up Forever for me. I tried a Mac concealer and primer with this foundation and none of these three products can hold a candle to what has worked for me from MUFE.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
LiisUsa 3/2/2013 5:46:00 PM
So, after applying, for the first 5-15 minutes, I love the effect this had on my late-30's skin: kinda dewy, skin tone evened like a light fundation. But, under cool, dry conditions or warm, humid conditions this stuff always turned fake tan orange on me and within two weeks I couldn't apply it to the bridge of my nose of brow because my eyes were becoming sensitized to the smell. My skin did not improve over these two weeks. This made me look awful and I hate products like these because I'm a busy person and I shouldn't have to worry that a product will turn me orange or have some other embarrassing effect -- it's one thing to not give me the skin-improving results, but let me go out into the world looking worse? No thank you and Garnier has lost a customer.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
LiisUsa 6/6/2012 12:43:00 AM
I liked that this wasn't too dark or drmatic. I feel like so many mascaras make my face about my mascara and thats that. But, this gave me raccoon eyes so I cannot rec this. Raccoon eyes are the cardinal sin.

Shampoo -Trader Joe's - Balanced Moisturizing Nourish Spa Shampoo

Whoa, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. I have short hair which is double bleached to platinum on a monthly basis. I use this dish on a daily basis and really nourishes and smooths my hair without weighing it down.

Skincare - Body -Trader Joe's - moisturizing cream

No, no, no. Is not very moisturizing at all and doesn't sink in to my skin.

Cleansers -Aura Cacia - Grapeseed Oil
LiisUsa 10/26/2011 5:19:00 PM
*UPDATE* I used this as many here suggested but it didn't help me at all. It didn't sink in, just sat there and finally it caused blemishes which I don't get anymore so this was a major bust OP: Whoa, this stuff is heavy and greasy compared to my Trader Joes jojoba, which is the only oil with which I have to compare right now. This doesn't sink in on my face or body. Since I ave only been using this for a few weeks, I'm giving this a neutral rating but aside from liking the great non-spill cap, I'm not sure about this. If I break out or have a beautiful breakthrough with this I'll update but for right now the fact that it doesn't sink in my skin, but doesn't want to come off with cleanser is annoying.

Conditioner -Trader Joe's - Refresh Citrus Conditioner
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:49:00 PM
For my color treated hair this is not helpful however it smells great and if your hair is normal and/or fine, this would be ideal. It isn't highly moisturizing but certainly not damaging. I now use this as shaving cream and its nice for that.

Eye Makeup Remover -Trader Joe's - Spa 100% Pure Jojoba Oil
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:46:00 PM
This isn't a review of jojoba oil in general but TJ's oil. I would prefer organic but I do like TJ's price. There is little to no scent and it feels great going on. The packaging is a little annoying because it drips too much but other than that, this is a great product.

Shampoo -Trader Joe's - Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:36:00 PM
I was pleasantly surprised by this -- great tea tree scent, cleansed my oily scalp but was not drying. And that's all I need so I really lik this product and it's especially nice that the price is great and that the ingredients are mostly natural.

Gels/Soaps -Trader Joe's - (Joes) Tea Tree Tingle Body Wash
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:10:00 PM
Wow, I LOVE this stuff! This would keep me in the shower all day if I could do that. It smells so good and washes well but doesn't overcleanse though I wouldn't call it moisturizing either. Just a great bodywash that smells great and is especially good for an A.M. shower.

Gels/Soaps -Trader Joe's - Refresh Citrus Body Wash with Vitamin C
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:04:00 PM
This is a great, nice-smelling, *very* affordable boy wash from TJ's and I'm loving their body care products! If you need moisture go elsewhere but this wash smells awesome and cleans and for me does not dry my skin. Refreshing!

Styling Products -Giovanni - Natural Mousse Air-Turbo Charged
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 4:01:00 PM
Love the packaging. Love the scent! I have a pixie cut with longish bangs and this gives it a slight lift and keeps my cowlick from looking like a cowlick. It adds some fullness to my fine, straight hair and is less sticky than other mousses, sprays and gels I've tried. I can feel product in my hair but it doesn't look like I have goop in my hair which is a big deal. All in all, its great for me and am so happy to find a natural hair product that works.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Eucalyptus Castille Liquid Soap
LiisUsa 10/25/2011 3:53:00 PM
I really love Dr Bronner's products and especially this scent: it's relaxing and invigorating and makes me feel clean but not stripped dry although I had to learn how to dilute this properly for my skin. If I'm not careful, this stuff will dry my skin. Another plus is that if I take a tablespoon or less of this and pour it in the tub at the very end of my shower, it cleans the tub of my body oil and conditioner, which is obviously a great thing too.

Scrubs -Trader Joe's - Lavender Sea Salt Body Scrub
LiisUsa 10/5/2011 9:23:00 AM
Slippery! My tub was coated with this stuff and it would have been very easy to slip. And it wouldn't rinse away, it had to be cleaned and that was inconvenient. That warning aside, I loved the smell but the granules were too big and scratchy. Flip top scrub is a *great* idea and I hope they incorporate it with similar items.

Polishes -Revlon - Stormy
LiisUsa 9/30/2011 12:31:00 PM
Bought this on a whim when looking for grayish shades by Essie or OPI, but neither were in stock at my local Target and I happened to see this at the Revlon display. My experiences with fast drying polish were that it was goopy and chipped asap, however, not only is this color gorgeous, and described well by other reviewers, but the formula is creamy and thick but not at all goopy and while it dries fast, I have had no chipping after 2 days and that's *without a top coat*. This costs about half of what OPI and Essie do and this stuff rocks. You can get away with one coat if you're pressed for time, but two coats really enhances its matte-but-shiny look. Most DS brand nailpolishes (like SH) have been lousy but I'm not surprised that Revlon managed to break that streak. I have had great luck with their other makeup products and am happy to see they make quality polish.
