Concealers -Christian Dior - Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen-002 Candlelight
Lexx13 3/25/2013 2:03:00 AM
Ok, the verdict is in, this is the best highlighting product I have found. I have tried YSL touche, Maybelline dream lumi (that one is in second place!), MAC prep + prime highlighter, Rimmel match perfection, and L'oreal magic lumi. I use these products to highlight the inner corner/brow bone and sometimes for dark circles. Every single one caused millia under my eyes, I mean every one of them - except the Dior. Very pricey but worth it IMO, it's great for a youthful glow. I also found after using it for a few months my undereye area looked brighter/clearer in general. Very nice product, highly recommend. If you are on a budget, check out Maybelline dream lumi which is also great.

Lotions/ Creams -Desert Essence - Vanilla Chai Hand and Body Lotion
Lexx13 2/28/2013 5:13:00 AM
I LOVE this body lotion. It smells like a chai latte, and is a bit strong on application but it does fade rather quickly. I am allergic to a lot of fragrance/chemicals in body products but I haven't had one problem with this. I usually get either clogs or dry patches with most lotions and this stuff has made my skin very happy and healthy. It is my new favorite.

Brows -MAC - Eyebrows Crayon in Lingering
Lexx13 2/5/2013 1:52:00 AM
My HG of all brow products! I have naturally brown ashy brows, and it is so hard to find a color match. I have tried so many different brands, (Benefit, Anastasia, Milani, annabelle, Marcelle, Quo, Maybelline..just to name some) and I have never come across anything that is this good and actually matches my brows 100%! It fills in, shapes, defines and darkens all while remaining natural looking. All I have to do is smooth down the hairs and this keeps them in place all day. I am going on my 4th one, I will never buy another brow product other than this. I have tried the maybelline define a brow 'dupe' and although similar, I find that one powdery and it doesn't hold my brows in place as nicely as MAC. It's also $8 for less product than MAC, so it's more expensive in the long run. And the color match was not nearly as good either. Lingering all the way!

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Nucerity- Skincerity
Lexx13 2/4/2013 11:42:00 PM
Just want to give an informational review, because I would never, ever use this on my face. The first ingredient is...Acetone...That is what is used to remove nail polish. I can't believe this is marketed to be put on your face! This is $120 nail polish remover in gel form. I bet it fades dark spots, because its taking off the layers of healthy skin cells every time it's used. And the tightening effect? That is your skin becoming dehydrated because the acetone is pulling all of the moisture out. I am cringing just thinking about putting this on my face.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - MultiplEYE Lash Primer
Lexx13 1/14/2013 10:24:00 PM
Hg lash primer! I've tried: - Dior plumping serum - Smashbox lash primer - Lancome cils booster - Lancome cils booster precious cells - Estee Lauder lash primer plus - Hard candy lash primer And others I can't remember off the top of my head. Why I love it? It actually lengthens, a lot of primers add volume but not length. This adds more length than volume. This also extends the wear of my mascara. I get little to no flakes wearing it with mascaras that usually smudge off and flake after a few hours. Actually makes it easier to remove mascara, it readily slides off and I don't have to rub my eyes as much (if at all). It won't clump up your lashes, unless you let it dry. It works best if you apply mascara right after putting it on. Also, I found the best results are when used with a wet mascara. I usually put 2 coats of the multplEYE primer on and then mascara immediately, and I always get great results. I curl my lashes with a heated curler after mascara, so I don't get the problem with 'uncurling', but it is possible that it does that. This one is a winner imo, I am surprised I like it because I am not a fan of any Tarte mascaras. Also supposed to be good for lashes, I haven't seen a difference at all though.

Polishes -Maybelline - Color Show in Cocktail Dress
Lexx13 1/3/2013 3:12:00 AM
Eep, this color is amazing, but the formula is awful. It is a deep charcoal with silver glitter, and larger red dot glitters. It needs 3 coats to become opaque (to get the color in the bottle). It dries to a matte type finish? It reminds me of the new OPI liquid sands. Not pretty, but a shiny top coat makes it look much better. Even with a base coat and top coat this polish chipped after one day. Not impressed.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner
Lexx13 1/1/2013 2:25:00 PM
I really wanted to try wen cleansing conditioner but I can't buy it here so when I found this at the drugstore I was super happy. My hair: bleached blonde, very thick, half way down my back, dry ends. I had to pump out a lot of product to get enough for my whole head. After rinsing I found my ends were still dry, so I had to use a bunch of leave in conditioner. Just not moisturizing enough on bleached hair. I really did love the results though, I felt that it balanced out my hair. My scalp felt clean but not dried out. The only huge con for me was the fragrance. I loved it upon applying, but it was so strong it literally lasted for 2 whole days in my hair. I could not get over it, it was so overwhelming. I wanted a hair care product, not a perfume. If you are sensitive to fragrance make sure to smell this before you buy it because you will be stuck with it for a while after using, and it can be overwhelming. Would only repurchase if they made a less potent smelling product.

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Lexx13 12/31/2012 5:22:00 AM
I think I've just found my HG cleanser! I cannot use foaming cleansers anymore. I have tried many of them and my skin is always left feeling dry, tight and red. This stuff glides over your skin, as you massage it you can see it melting your make up off. It rinses clean, without residue, and it leaves my skin feeling the same as it did before I used it. No irritation, and no breakouts. I can't believe it takes off absolutely everything, sunscreen, Revlon colorstay, waterproof mascara...I really mean everything! I highly recommend this cleanser !

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
Lexx13 11/7/2012 1:46:00 AM
This mascara was just ok. Nothing special, gives a clean and defined look. When I tried to build it up in layers it started to look very odd, the tips of my lashes got all messy and stuck together. I hate that! If you want a natural look you'd probably like this but for more drama go for something else.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Ed Hardy Villain
Lexx13 10/22/2012 2:04:00 AM
I'm not a fan of any previous Ed Hardy fragrances. I find them too synthetic and or generic. I saw this new gorgeous bottle of villain, it has a mermaid on it...and had to give it a try. I was not expecting to like it. At first sniff it was sweet and fruity. meh. It then started to mix with my chemistry and became this amazing fresh clean sweetness...It's hard to describe because I really can't compare it to anything else! I went and bought it. Hours after spraying it I am still smelling it, and it is amazing, like clean skin with a hint of subtle vanilla. I love this. Unique, gorgeous packaging and long lasting. Try it!

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar Sensual
Lexx13 10/19/2012 12:22:00 AM
I liked the original pink sugar, but I got really sick of it quickly. It was just too sweet. Pink sugar sensual is sweet, but not overly so and has more floral notes to it that make it smell more suitable for an adult. As I wore it a few times I noticed it smelled so familiar, and then it hit me one day...it smells almost identical to Britney Spears fantasy. Sort of a mix between fantasy and circus fantasy. It's nice but not what I was expecting, I thought it would have a bit more spice to it. It's just a sweet floral, and since I already have fantasy there is no point using both.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sensual Amber EDT
Lexx13 10/19/2012 12:16:00 AM
I generally dislike BBW fragrances because they all have the same sort of 'I'm wearing BBW' familiarity to them. Sensual Amber smells sweet, syrupy and a little spicy and then has a fake chemical stench after the dry down... Flowerbomb smells amazing with my chemistry, sweet spicy and rich and as it fades it just smells even better... I don't think there is any comparison between the two. sensual amber is a nice scent for the price, but it just does not cut it for me.

Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup
Lexx13 9/16/2012 2:38:00 PM
I usually go for L'oreal true match foundation as it's one of the only ones that never causes any problems for my skin. I decided to try visible lift after comparing the ingredients with true match and finding they are very similar. Visible lift of course has the added vit C and vit A which is fantastic. It also contains dimethicone and zinc, while true match does not. I was drawn to visible lift because it has a lot of mica in it which gives your skin that gorgeous glowing look. The lightest color, pale ivory was an absolute perfect match on my summer tanned NC15 skin. It might be too dark in the winter. After applying this the first time I was in awe because it really made my skin look so perfect. It's medium coverage and the finish is satin matte. It stays on way better than true match does. It wears off gracefully, after about 6-8 hours. The pump bottle is amazing! It's a nice change from true match. I love this foundation but I think it clogged me, so I've stopped using it. But, I highly recommend it. If you like true match you will love this.

Eye Makeup Remover -Nivea - Express Eye Makeup Remover
Lexx13 9/16/2012 1:20:00 AM
This is a really good (cheap) makeup remover! Probably one of the best from the drug store. Grabbed it because I ran out of MAC gently off, and I can say it works just as good! It's a really pretty color in the bottle, I admit I was drawn to that. Anyways, it does take off almost everything (I wear a ton of mascara) and it glides nicely so you don't lose lashes. My only complaint is that it irritated my eyes. It contains methylisothiazolinone, which I am super sensitive to in any product . If you have sensitive eyes I'd pass on this one. Otherwise, definitely give it a go!
